v.4 Updated: 2021-12-23In this episode we discuss the impact of Covid-19 vaccine mandates on our society, with a specific focus on the way the mandates have been implemented in the context of higher education. We describe how students, staff and faculty in our universities have been callously kicked to the curb simply because they have chosen to avoid taking the Covid-19 biologicals. Although there are provisions for exemptions from these mandates, there are indications that the large majority of exemption requests are being denied. In this episode we discuss the definition of the term “conspiracy theory” and how it was weaponized by the CIA to deflect criticisms of the of the dubious conclusions drawn by the Warren Commission regarding the assassination of former US President Kennedy. Introduced also in this episode is the concept of the ‘epistemic establishment’, which includes knowledge giving institutions and authorities that are trusted by the general public to provide them with truthful information about the world. It is often assumed that since we live in a so-called ‘open society’, corruption of epistemic authorities is unlikely. However, as we illustrate in considerable detail, there are good reasons to distrust our current secular epistemic authorities, and to treat their pronouncements with a healthy degree of skepticism. We provide concrete suggestions about how to find truth in a society characterized by a failing, compromised and corrupt epistemic establishment. In this episode we document how, during the Covid-19 pandemic, governments have progressively taken away the civil liberties of their citizens. Jordan Peterson, a Professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto, has recently enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame with his energetic and refreshing critiques of Marxist, left-leaning ideologies entrenched in the Arts Faculties of many universities. Peterson has expressed his views on morality, politics, science and religion in YouTube videos, public lectures, media interviews and his recent self-help book titled "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos". Because of his effective attacks on the political Left, many Christians have found themselves agreeing with Peterson's views, and even recommending his lectures on the Bible. But are Peterson's teachings consistent with Christianity? In this episode we begin our deconstruction of Peterson's views, focusing on one of his main sources of inspiration: the anti-Christian philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Continuing our discussion of the various worldview change techniques used in the context of science fiction and fantasy stories, we explore how normalization (sometimes using repetition), behavioural and attitudinal pre-programming, and disarmament through comic relief can be used to modify the audiences' worldviews. We provide examples from popular films and shows, including Captain America, Thor, Voltron, the Avengers Assemble, Clone Wars, Luke Cage, Alita: Battle Angel, Ghost in the Shell and the Green Lantern. We also discuss the works of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. Finally, near the end of the show we are joined by a special guest who helps us thoroughly deconstruct the movie Ant-man and the Wasp.

We discuss how fiction, especially popular superhero films and TV shows, can be used to convey subversive content to create substantial worldview change. Building on our last episode, we highlight new worldview subversion techniques that are used specifically in the context of storytelling. Examples from popular movies and TV shows are provided. Extending the issues raised in the last episode, in this episode we continue to identify several techniques that are commonly used by those who desire to change your worldview. Specifically, we discuss how worldview engineers can occasion worldview change by rewriting history (or at least by casting it in a different light) and by embedding subversive ideas in fictional stories (in movies, TV shows, novels etc.). We illustrate the use of these techniques with reference to recent uses of the term 'genocide' in political discourse and by revealing the subtle messaging in popular TV shows (The Flash & The 12 Monkeys). When people take certain types of psychedelic drugs, they enter into a mystical state characterized by a depersonalized fusion with a divine light. Proponents of psychedelic use claim that such states (which are also at the heart of many Eastern religious practices) are ultimately good for humanity and society. In addition, some scientists claim that mystical states, when induced by psychedelics, can have curative effects (e.g., reducing anxiety and depression). Recently, there has been a renewed interest in the potential benefits of psychedelic drugs. In this episode we explore 1) how the use of psychedelic drugs can have a transformative and lasting impact on the worldviews of those who use them, 2) how a psychedelic experience can drive people to practice certain mainstream religions, and 3) claims that some mainstream religions were inspired by ancestral use of psychedelic drugs. While some people propose that psychedelics are a panacea for modern mental health issues and that they offer an easy and direct path to transcendence, we explore the dark side of the psychedelic experience, with a particular focus on the otherworldly entities people meet while under the influence of DMT (ayahuasca).
