Ep. 186 - Jeremy Dyson
EJeremy Dyson is a writer best known as a member of the BAFTA winning comedy group, The League of Gentlemen alongside Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. He co-wrote The League of Gentlemen including a radio series, 3 television series, numerous tours, a feature film, a Christmas special and three 20th anniversary episodes. He co-created the play Ghost Stories with Andy Nyman which ran in the West End and on tour for many years as well as at The Sydney Opera House in Australia. He co-created the BAFTA-nominated television series Funland, which aired on BBC Three and was script editor and writer on BBC1's BAFTA winning The Armstrong & Miller Show. Richard Pitman is a retired jump jockey best know for coming second to Red Rum at the 1973 Grand National whilst riding Crisp. Richard rode 427 winners in his career, including Lanzarote in the 1974 Champion Hurdle. He won the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park Racecourse twice, the Whitbread Gold Cup and the Hennessy Gold Cup. He joined the BBC TV racing team as a commentator and pundit in 1975 and stayed with the BBC 35 years. Richard has bred, owned and sold racehorses and has written seven racing novels and five non-fiction books. EDr Julia Patterson is the Founder and Chief Executive of EveryDoctor, a doctor-led campaigning organisation fighting for a better NHS for every doctor and every patient. Julia qualified from UCL Medical School in 2010 and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2015. She took a break from her speciality training to set up EveryDoctor, and has now given up her GMC licence to practice, in order to devote herself fully to advocating for NHS staff and patients. She was a co-founder of the Junior Doctors Alliance (a group that spoke out against the imposition of the sexist new junior doctors’ contract in 2016), and most recently founded The Political Mess, one of the UK’s largest online political forums for all U.K. doctors.
