Ep 407[GIRL CHAT] I Got A Job... The Online World Is Fake, So I’m Choosing a Real Life Instead

In this episode, I’m sitting down for a real-life Q1 update, because the first few months of this year did not go how I expected, but looking back now, I can see how everything kind of unfolded the way it was supposed to. January was really quiet for my podcast production business, and for the first time in a long time, I started seriously thinking about working outside the house again after being self-employed for 13–14 years. I applied for a job I really wanted and didn’t get it, which was disappointing at the time… but as you’ll hear in this episode, that ended up redirecting me in a way I couldn’t have planned. February brought a bit of a health scare when I found a lump and had to go through a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy. Thankfully everything came back benign after they drained fluid, but that whole experience definitely makes you pause and think about life a little differently. Around that same time, I also took about a 40-day break from scrolling and social media apps, and honestly, that might have been one of the most impactful things I did this year. It really clarified for me how much I enjoy the physical world — my town, my routines, my family, real conversations — and how I don’t want to live my life primarily online. Then in March, through a friend connection, I ended up interviewing for a job, got an offer, and started in late March. I’m still working with my three long-term podcast clients, but this new chapter has been really grounding and different in a good way. In this episode I also talk about: Some thoughts on the online world and how much of it feels fake and pay-to-play right now Purpose beyond just work and career My concerns with influencers pushing medications and peptides How the fitness industry constantly rebrands the same ideas Why I believe balanced movement and living in sync with your own season matters more than following trends This episode is a little life update, a little rant, a little reflection and as always, thanks for being here and listening. 💛 Come say hi on Instagram and let me know what season of life you’re in right now.

Ep 406What to Do When You Don’t Know What to Do (for the ladies in the season of in-between)

This is one of the most honest episodes I’ve recorded in a while. I sat down and hit “record” not with a plan, but with a full heart and an in-between season I know so many of us find ourselves in. If you’ve ever felt stuck, unclear, or like your ambition has nowhere to go right now this one’s for you. In this episode, I’m sharing what I’m doing when I don’t have a clear path forward. We talk about: Taking control of the small things like workouts, appointments, decluttering, or refining the budget Setting mini goals and reflecting one day at a time What it means to live in sync with your current season instead of fighting it Why I’m shifting away from the “if you’re not growing, you’re dying” mentality The value of above-self purpose and how helping others helps you When there’s no plan… the power of prayer I also open up about how hard it is to feel stuck as an ambitious woman — and how I’m learning to trust that this is just a moment, not a forever. Growth doesn’t always look like forward motion. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s invisible. But it’s still growth. 💛 If this episode spoke to you, come say hi on Instagram [@joellesuess] and let me know what part resonated. I’m so glad you’re here.

Ep 402How to Get the Whole Family Eating Healthier

In this episode, I’m sharing some of the small but powerful shifts that have helped our family eat healthier — without turning meals into a battle or making a million changes at once. As a certified nutritionist (and busy mom), I get how overwhelming it can feel to overhaul your family’s eating habits. So instead, I’m walking you through the mindset shifts and simple strategies I use to keep things realistic and sustainable — especially during busy seasons. We chat about: How to take quiet ownership of your family’s health (without forcing it) What the “thirds method” is and how it helps me build balanced plates Easy breakfast routines that start the day off strong Tips for handling picky eaters with less stress and more patience Why I don’t buy certain things at the store (and how that helps everyone win) How I stock our kitchen with healthy staples that actually get used This episode is all about progress, not perfection — and finding rhythms that truly support your family’s well-being. 💛 Thanks for tuning in! Come say hi on Instagram [@joellesuess] and tell me what small food shift you’re focusing on this week.

Ep 401My Favorite Meal Planning Hack // Simplifying Dinner with Theme Nights

In this episode, I’m sharing the super simple dinner system that’s been saving my sanity lately — especially during busy weeks. I first discovered this idea from Amy Fritz on YouTube, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer. It’s all about theme nights — think Soup Sunday, Pasta Monday, Taco Tuesday — and how having a basic framework makes grocery shopping and weeknight cooking so much easier. No more staring into the fridge at 4:00 wondering what to make. I walk you through: How I set up our week using flexible theme nights Real-life examples of meals we rotate through for each night Why this system works even if your schedule or appetite changes How to make it your own based on what your family actually eats If meal planning has been feeling overwhelming or you’re just ready for a refresh, I think you’ll love this simple approach that brings structure without rigidity. 💛 Thanks for listening! Come say hi over on Instagram [@joellesuess] and tell me your go-to theme night dinners! Shout out to Amy Fritz on YouTube

Ep 405Being Intentional Means You Can’t Prioritize Everything (That’s a Good Thing)

In this episode, I’m welcoming the Christmas season with something I think we all need a reminder of this time of year: you don’t have to do it all at once. I’m sharing what it’s looked like for me to release the pressure of unfinished to-do lists and instead focus on living in sync with the season I’m in — emotionally, mentally, and practically. This mindset shift has helped me move from overwhelm to peace, and I hope it encourages you too. We talk about: Why not everything needs to be a priority right now and how to be okay with that My early motherhood memories and how they shaped my outlook on productivity How I’m approaching health and fitness with grace in this season Practical tips I use to manage tasks without spiraling A few books that have really supported my mindset lately: The Gap and the Gain, The Joy of Movement, and The Upside of Stress This is one of those cozy, honest episodes where I invite you to breathe a little deeper, take something off your plate, and remember that peace often comes when we accept our current season for what it is not what we think it “should” be. 💛 Thanks for being here. Come say hi on Instagram [@joellesuess] and tell me: what are you choosing to let go of in this season?

Ep 396[GIRL CHAT] My Workout Routine is Finally Working (Because I Stopped Doing This)

In this episode of Living in Sync, I’m bringing you behind the scenes of how my workout mindset has totally shifted lately. I’m all about consistency over intensity. I’m sharing what my current routine looks like — a realistic mix of strength training, running, and mobility work — and how I’m finally finding my rhythm in a way that feels both sustainable and energizing. We’ll chat about: Why I stopped swinging between extremes with my workouts How I’m using Beachbody on Demand to stay consistent What my weekly movement mix actually looks like (without perfection) The role cardio and mobility are playing in how I feel lately Why small changes and realistic goals are the actual game-changers If you’re craving a workout routine that supports your real life and not just your highlight reel — this one’s for you. 💛 Thanks for tuning in! Ep 3955 Key Areas I’m Decluttering Before School Starts (Because Chaos Isn’t the Vibe)

In this episode, I’m walking you through the five spots I’m decluttering and resetting before the school year kicks off — because let’s be honest, mornings are already wild enough without tripping over shoes or digging through a messy pantry. These are the zones I’m focusing on to make the back-to-school transition smoother and saner for everyone: The kids’ closets and drawers (because suddenly nothing fits??) Our backpack and shoe storage (aka the disaster zone by the door) The pantry — think easy grab-and-go lunch prep + after-school snack flow My car, which has become a traveling trash can this summer The drop zone where backpacks and shoes should land after school I’m also sharing little tips that help me keep these spaces tidy (without having to overhaul them again next week) and why setting up a few of these systems ahead of time makes such a difference in how we all show up. Let’s get organized — and stay in sync — for the season ahead. ✨ Thanks for listening! Come say hi over on Instagram: [@joellesuess] and share what YOU’RE resetting before school starts!

Ep 393Not Sure What to Do Next? Try This for More Clarity, Confidence, and Peace Around Your Decision

In this episode, I’m sharing some of the ways I’ve learned to approach big (and often messy) life decisions — the ones that don’t come with clear answers and tend to keep us up at night. I walk you through how I personally like to sort through decisions using simple tools like a good old-fashioned pros and cons list, talking with trusted (but neutral) voices, and reminding myself that nothing is ever permanent — even when it feels huge in the moment. I also share why I believe in easing into major changes when possible, and how I seek out stories and wisdom from people who’ve walked a similar path. And of course, I talk about the role of prayer and connecting with God when I need clarity or just the courage to take the next right step. If you’re standing at a crossroads or just feeling unsure about your next move, I hope this episode gives you some peace, perspective, and a few practical tools to help you move forward. 💛 Thank you for listening and being part of this space.
