When Haman entered, the king asked him “What should be done for the man the king delights to honour?” Now Haman thought to himself “Who is there that the king would rather honour than me?”Esther 6:6

having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.Esther 3:6

When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people, the gates and the wall.Nehemiah 12:30

While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites - men, women and children - gathered around him. They too wept bitterly.Ezra 10:1

For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.Ezra 7:10

So the elders of the Jews continued to build and prosper under the preaching of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah, a descendant of Iddo. They finished building the temple according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus, Darius and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia.Ezra 6:14

Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.Ezra 4:4

Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites - everyone whose heart God had moved - prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.Ezra 1:5

While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the temple of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the Lord that had been given through Moses.2 Chronicles 34:14

After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, thinking to conquer them for himself.2 Chronicles 32:1

The couriers went from town to town in Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun but people scorned and ridiculed them. Nevertheless, some from Asher, Manasseh and Zebulun humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.2 Chronicles 30:10-11

While he was still speaking, the king said to him “Have we appointed you an adviser to the king? Stop! Why be struck down?” So the prophet stopped but said “I know that God has determined to destroy you because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”2 Chronicles 25:16

Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king and he reigned in Jerusalem for eight years. He passed away, to no one’s regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.2 Chronicles 21:20

The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the ways of his father David before him. He did not consult the Baals but sought the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel.2 Chronicles 17:3-4

But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought Him and He was found by them.2 Chronicles 15:4

So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David ​to this day.2 Chronicles 10:19

“...if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”2 Chronicles 7:14

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him “Ask for whatever you want Me to give you.”2 Chronicles 1:7

David also said to Solomon his son “Be strong and courageous and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the Temple of the Lord is finished.”1 Chronicles 28:20

David, together with the commanders of the army, set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals...1 Chronicles 25:1

Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in His sight.1 Chronicles 19:13

Nathan replied to David “Whatever you have in mind, do it, for God is with you.”1 Chronicles 17:2

These were the chiefs of David’s mighty warriors - they, together with all Israel, gave his kingship strong support to extend it over the whole land, as the Lord had promised.1 Chronicles 11:10

Some of them were in charge of the articles used in the temple service; they counted them when they were brought in and when they were taken out.1 Chronicles 9:28

Jabez was more honourable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” and God granted his request.1 Chronicles 4:9-10
