Amos answered Amaziah, ‘I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet but I was a shepherd and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees - but the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’Amos 7:14-15

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.Daniel 1:8

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Because the great cedar towered over the thick foliage and because it was proud of its height, I gave it into the hands of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside...”Ezekiel 31:10-11

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “When I gather the people of Israel from the nations where they have been scattered, I will be proved holy through them in the sight of the nations. Then they will live in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.”Ezekiel 28:25

“Son of man, with one blow I am about to take away from you the delight of your eyes. Yet do not lament or weep or shed any tears.”Ezekiel 24:16

“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it but I found no one.”Ezekiel 22:30

Even if these three men - Noah, Daniel and Job - were in it (Jerusalem), they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.Ezekiel 14:14

A bruised reed He will not break and a smouldering wick He will not snuff out. In faithfulness He will bring forth justice.Isaiah 42:3

In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”Isaiah 38:1

...Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you.​Isaiah 35:4
