S4 Ep 232A Love Story Ghost Story with Ricki Lake

A LOVE STORY GHOST STORY with RICKI LAKE “We don’t lose our loved ones when they pass. They are still here… I still think he's as much here with me today as he was when he was actually alive.” – Ricki Lake Episode Summary: Happy Valentine’s Day! We are so excited to honor the day by bringing you a delightfully magic love story from our special guest, actress/producer Ricki Lake. In keeping with the usual Life, Death and the Space Between vibe, this love story has a twist -- it occurs across the veil! Singing professionally since age 9 – Wow! – Ricki’s film debut came as the lead role Tracy Turnblad in John Water’s 1988 cult classic Hairspray. At age just 24, she became the youngest ever TV daytime talk show host. In her hugely popular show, Ricki Lake, she invited lively conversation with guests and engaged the audience with animated candor. Ricki has a long list of film and TV credits. Most recently, Ricki has produced illuminating documentaries, including The Business of Being Born about home birth and midwifery, and The Business of Birth Control, which is out now. Ricky shares her very personal experiences in the most open, authentic way. Listen in to hear about the incredible string of synchronicity after synchronicity and how Ricki knows, knows, knows in every cell of her body that she remains connected with her beloved Christian. And how love, indeed, never dies. Topics We Discuss: [2:19] Ricki’s devastating loss of her ex-husband and beloved friend Christian to death by suicide. He had suffered horribly from bipolar manic/depressive episodes and physical pain. [4:59] Ricki and Christian’s last night together just days before his death – against the advice of all of her friends to keep him at a distance – allowing a beautiful last experience. [6:14] Her experience with a psychic who told Ricki where to find his body. [7:44] The message from Christian through a psychic that he wanted Ricki to “have the ring”. And how Ricki managed to locate their wedding ring in a pawnshop in Los Angeles. [9:15] Although he couldn’t stay on Earth, Ricki feels Christian orchestrating events and feels his continued devotion and protection. [10:18] How another psychic reading gave Ricki details only Christian would know, giving her peace and validation that Christian was still with her, and allowing her to climb out of her grief and to begin to put her life back together. [15:25] Even as Ricki was devastated after losing Christian, she did not feel responsible for his death. She understood how much he suffered in his life physically and mentally, living with both his madness and his genius. [19:14] How Ricki met her current husband, Ross after a chance encounter with a friend on the beach. She is in what she calls a “state of grounded euphoria”, and in the prime of her life at age 53. [23:58] Ricki’s advice to finding love at any age: keep your heart open, really love yourself, and value yourself. There is hope. There is someone. [25:02] Ricki is in the euphoria of love for Ross while continuing to process her grief over Christian. Grief and love coexist for her. [26:49] How Ricki processed her devastating grief by forcing herself to get out and walk the dog, forcing herself to smile, forcing herself to find gratitude. [28:45] Her magical marriage to Ross just a month ago. And another synchronicity where her and Christian’s song came on just before the wedding ceremony. [31:54] How Christian gave Ricki another sign turning on her backyard lights. When you know it in your heart it is true, you know it, and it transforms you. [36:47] Christian’s past life story as a Native American where he was killed by a bear while protecting his brother’s life. The amazing connection to a his bear claw ring that Ricki found in his things in Ibiza, Spain - where she spread some of his ashes. [40:30] Ricki feels close to Christian when she wears or holds his jewelry. FOLLOW RICKI LAKE You can find her on social or just search! Instagram Twitter Facebook SUPPORT DR. S4 Ep 231Being Ram Dass with Rameshwar Das

BEING RAM DASS with RAMESHWAR DAS “The definition of a spiritual path is that we all keep failing until we don’t.” -- Ram Dass (1931-2019) as told by biographer Rameshwar Das “The feeling of an all-embracing consciousness and love filling the space. And being a part of that.” – biographer Rameshwar Das on what it felt like to be with Ram Dass (1931-2019) Episode Summary: Curious about Indian spirituality and the magic of Mother India? Wonder what happened when Western spiritual seekers traveled to India in the 1960’s? Talk about a window into 60’s history! In this episode, we talk with biographer Rameshwar Das, a lifelong collaborator and a friend of beloved guru Ram Dass (1931-2019). Ram Dass, born Richard Alpert, is credited with helping to usher Eastern spirituality into Western consciousness. Ram Dass and Rameshwar Das (yes, two different people) co-authored the colorful and storied journey of Ram Dass’ life -- being born into white privilege in Boston, through teaching psychology at Harvard as Dr. Richard Alpert, breaking ground on psychedelic research with Timothy Leary, being kicked out of Harvard, his long spiritual journey with guru and magic man Neem Karoli Baba in India. Rameshwar Das travelled alongside Ram Dass, and was with him as his soul left his physical body. Their fascinating auto/biography, “Being Ram Dass” is available everywhere books are sold. Listen in to hear why Amy calls Rameshwar Das a dream guest, and how psychology and spirituality intertwine. Topics We Discuss: [3:05] Ram Dass’ early family life, including Alpert family pressure to achieve success in the traditional Western sense, and becoming Harvard psychology professor Dr. Richard Alpert. [5:30] Ram Dass’ drive to explore the mind, ultimately breaking ground in the forefront of the psychedelic movement in the 1960’s with Timothy Leary. Ram Dass and Timothy Leary’s early psychedelic research established the importance of “set and setting” during a psychedelic experience. [8:00] How Dr. Andrew Weil got Ram Dass and Timothy Leary kicked out of Harvard over their psychedelic research. Afterward, Ram Dass went underground with his psychedelic research. [10:00] Ram Dass meeting his guru Neem Karoli Baba aka The Maharaja in India and being instantaneously transformed, or what he called “being cracked open”. [13:20] The change in point of view Rameshwar Das experienced in the presence of what Ram Dass manifested. Feeling pure love and awareness. Feeling pure being. [17:00] Ram Dass’ definition of a spiritual path: “we all keep failing until we don’t.” [18:30] The eclectic methods and tools Ram Dass used to grow spiritually. “Use what you can and lose the rest.” [21:00] Ram Dass’ sharing “enough LSD to put a horse on the moon” with his guru, provided by underground chemist who also happened to be the Grateful Dead’s soundman. [27:00] How Ram Dass approached his own death fearlessly. Rameshwar’s experience watching Ram Dass leave his body. [33:18] Love and power. “Love is the greatest power.” FOLLOW RAMESHWAR DAS You can follow here: Website SUPPORT DR. S4 Ep 228Shared Crossings, Part 2 with William J Peters

SHARED CROSSINGS with WILLIAM J. PETERS “Synchronicities happen pre-death, at death, post-death… cloud formations, lights, energetic things, clocks stopping, phones ringing, digital displays, all sorts of things. There's all sorts of quantitative data to decipher whether this is possible within pure chance. There's no way these are coincidence; there's something else happening here and it's profound.” -- William J. Peters Episode Summary: Is the very idea of the death of a precious dear one just too much to even consider? What if you could participate in the end-of-life experience of your loved one? What if those experiences allowed you to diminish - or maybe even lose - your fear of death? William J. Peters is the founder of the Shared Crossing Project whose mission is to positively transform relationships to death and dying through education and raising awareness about shared crossings and their healing benefits. Director of the Shared Crossing Research Initiative (SCRI), William and his team collect and study extraordinary end-of-life experiences, also known as shared crossings. William has developed methods to actually facilitate shared crossings and to help you meaningfully integrate those experiences. A psychotherapist at the Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara, William specializes in end-of-life counseling as a means toward psycho-spiritual evolution. A frequent presenter, William’s book entitled At Heaven’s Door: What Shared Journeys to the Afterlife Teach About Dying Well and Living Better (Simon & Schuster) is available now. William’s work is informed by his not one but two Near Death Experiences (NDEs) and so many Shared Death Experiences (SDE) while serving as a hospice worker with the Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco. William J. Peters and Dr Amy Robbin’s enjoy an upbeat conversation about their favorite topic: the transition from this human life to into the next world. Listen in to hear William make sense of some of Amy’s own very personal shared death experiences. Her mind is blown! Topics We Discuss in Part 1: [4:20] William’s two near death and shared death experiences. First, after a horrible accident on a ski slope, hovering over his body, and telling God that wasn’t ready to die. And secondly in the ICU – hovering over his body, seeing the hospital staff working on his body, hearing the doctor calling out his name. [11:40] Years later while sitting bedside in hospice, William “popped out” of his body and was able to communicate with essence, or possibly the soul, of the dying man. [13:20] Fascinating end-of-life phenomenon, which William calls “shared crossings”: shared death experiences, pre-death premonitions and visitations, terminal lucidity, direct post-death communication, post-death visions, dreams and visitations, synchronicities. [20:00] Differentiating a shared crossings “adept” vs. a medium – basically it is about who places the call. [28:15] What William means by the euphemism he uses “traversing the veil”. And what William feels bedside during this shared death experience crossing over the veil between this life and the next with the dying soul. [33:10] The difference between a near death experience and a shared death experience. How difficult it is for the medical community to dismiss a shared death experience. Topics We Discuss in Part 2: [1:50] William’s methods to enable shared death experiences – talking about death, working through psycho-emotional luggage, meditation, spiritual explorations, guided visualizations. Ultimately to become more comfortable with the idea of death. William offers courses [6:01] Losing the fear of death can extend the length of life, even after a terminal diagnosis. [8:20] Shared death experiencers report a deep inner knowing around dying. 51% of loved ones encounter the dying, 16% see a non-human, elevated highly evolved being (angel or spirit guide or other benevolent being of light); 13% experience a deceased relative, 12% of the time someone “sees” the spirit leaving the body. [13:14] The multiple dimensions of shared death experiences, from experiences in our normal earthy dimension, ending with “going into the light”. [20:18] William answers Amy’s speed round questions… Spirituality means…? What is something most people don’t know about you? What is one thing you’re looking forward to? What are you grateful for right now? What book is on your nightstand? What is the most transformative experience of your life? [29:29] Amy’s own recent shared death experience involving the imminent crossing of her sister-in-law’s grandmother, and messages relayed. Follow William J. S4 Ep 226Supercharged Self-Healing with RJ Spina

SUPERCHARGED SELF-HEALING with RJ SPINA “The future is here now. The future of medicine is high frequency energy.” – RJ Spina Episode Summary: You have heard that we all have the power to heal ourselves. But where do we find that power? How do we access that power? Do you feel ready to access that power? In this episode, we talk with metaphysical teacher RJ Spina, who verifiably healed himself from spinal paralysis after a catastrophic injury, along with diabetes, hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease, and autonomic dysreflexia. Today his teaching, wisdom, and guidance is changing and saving lives across the globe. He is dedicated to the freeing and healing of humanity on all levels through self-realization. His new book Supercharged Self-Healing is out now. Listen in to understand how RJ Spina describes complete cosmic consciousness and the steps available to absolutely anyone to self-heal. Topics We Discuss: As a child, RJ Spina had an innate ability to live separate from his body as pure spirit. After being told he would live only 48 hours longer, after surgery, he awoke into what he describes as “complete cosmic consciousness” – remembering the power of creation itself. Seeing himself as unlimited and divine. RJ’s road to self-healing… Identify and halt the ego mind identity, which is responsible for all ill health. All disharmony comes from disharmonious thought states. Define the self as divine intelligence, sentience, the direct fractal of god. Detach from the human condition. Know very specifically what you are going to achieve, give it focus. Activate your healing intention. As humans we can express mentally, verbally, emotionally, physically… Combining these methods is a kind of magic. Command creator consciousness – via a very specific mediation. AWAKENING THE HEALER WITHIN with KELLY GORES “You can learn to play the instrument of your own body and stimulate healing.” -- Kelly Noonan Gores, director of the documentary “Heal” Episode Summary: Why do some of us get sick and others skate through life unscathed by illness? Are we victims of our circumstances -- or do we have significant influence over our health? How do our thoughts, beliefs and emotions impact our ability to heal? In this first episode of 2022, we talk with Kelly Noonan Gores, a well-known Los Angeles based child actress turned producer/director of the widely popular documentary Heal, seen formerly on Netflix and currently on Amazon Prime. Heavyweights in the mind body arena – foremost scientists and spiritual leaders - make up the cast: Deepak Chopra, Joe Dispenza, Marianne Williamson, Dr. Michael Beckwith and Dr. Bruce Lipton and so many fascinating others. Kelly’s new book, “Heal: Discover your Unlimited Potential and Awaken the Healer Within” is out now. Listen in to hear Kelly Noonan Gores’ enthusiasm for consciousness and possibility, and the miraculous intelligence of the human body. Topics We Discuss: [5:10] Starting from a characteristic teenage cloud of aimlessness and angst, how a transformative experience at age 19, reading Marianne Williamson’s book “Return to Love” on a flight home from Australia, upshifted and redirected Kelly’s intentions toward a spiritual path. [8:35] The process of making the unconscious conscious, and the importance of replacing our early childhood imprinting programs with more serving belief systems. [13:37] The easy availability of free, powerful alternative modes of healing – for example, breathwork to stimulate the vagus nerve, Joe Dispenza’s online meditation courses, books, books, books. Libraries and the internet are loaded with free resources. [18:55] The importance of balancing alternative and Western medicine methods. [20:20] Acceptance as step one to healing, vs. resisting what is. Letting go of the fear of death, which is the ultimate resistance. And finding your joy. [23:50] Disease prevention practices. Find what feels good! Meditate. Turn your phone off. Give your body time to rest and reset and repair. Open to your internal guidance system. Approach exercise to feel good – move your body to release endorphins, eliminate toxins, release positive hormones and feel positive emotions (vs. fear weight gain or fear ill health). Be outdoors in nature. Give yourself grace. Do the best you can. [35:54] The importance of taking the leap to follow your heart, whether or not you know how to get there. Saying “yes” and moving forward. [38:40] Kelly answers Amy’s speed round questions. Spirituality means…? What is something most people don’t know about you? What is one thing you’re looking forward to? What are you grateful for right now? What book is on your nightstand? What is the most transformative experience of your life? PART 1 of 2 – Amy Reflects on The Biology of Belief with Dr. Bruce Lipton “How you respond to that person is going to be different than how I respond to that person. What does that say? It’s not the person, it’s what’s inside of me, my own consciousness. That is where the science and the spirituality and the awareness all come together. Science and spirituality fuse in this mind blowing episode where Dr. Amy Robbins reflects on her super popular podcast episode – #157 The Biology of Belief with stem cell biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton, PhD. Listen in to understand how -- using stem cell biology and quantum physics -- Dr. Bruce Lipton connects the dots through early childhood subconscious imprinting, different ways to navigate our lives, and ultimately how we can create the lives we want by changing our biology. Dr. Lipton tells us how to live our dreams. Topics We Discuss: [5:02] The premise of Dr. Lipton’s work and why people have flocked to it for years. S3 Ep 221The Emotional Entrepreneur with Scout Sobel

THE EMOTIONAL ENTREPRENEUR with SCOUT SOBEL “I don't control my bipolar disorder. I live in a dance with it. I accept that… I always say pain alchemized into gold.” “Live in uncertainty’s discomfort. There you will find all future abundance.” – Entrepreneur Scout Sobel Episode Summary: How do you control the most negative aspects of your personality? Of your life? How do you manage emotional turmoil, or maybe a negative thought running on a loop? In this episode, we talk with Scout Sobel, founder of Scouts Agency, a PR agency that gets women as guests on podcasts. Scout’s agency had six figure revenue the first year, grew by 250% the next and grew 60% this year. Scout is cohost of the popular, Okay Sis podcast which spotlights female guests and focuses on telling women’s stores. Through Okay, Sis, Scout fell in love with spreading women's stories and identified the rising popularity and influence of podcasts. She is a trailblazer in the media industry for using podcasts as a powerful form of PR for women, entrepreneurs, podcasters and brands. She now hosts The Emotional Entrepreneur podcast. Scout's success did not come without trials and tribulations. For 15 years she has been living with a severe case of bipolar disorder. Once unable to hold a job, go to college or function in society -- with a lot of self-development work, through a harrowing emotional journey with psychosis, depression, anxiety, and self-harm -- Scout turned her life around. Listen in to this inspirational conversation to understand how Scout took radical responsibility for her mental health and now successfully manages her bipolar disorder and uses her mental health strength to fuel her entrepreneurial dreams. Topics We Discuss: [8:50] A key to feeling safe in your emotions is giving yourself time to heal. Change takes time. A long time. [11:39] Building a toolbox to help regulate your emotions: therapy, psychiatry, yoga, meditation, support groups… [12:50] What it means to be an Emotional Entrepreneur. [14:00] Finding a framework that suits your soul, your potential, passion and purpose. [16:00] Incorporating spirituality and prayer into an emotional journey. [18:30] When Scout calls on her higher power, she feels safe enough to be strong and secure. [19:42] Why Scout says, “Live in uncertainty’s discomfort. There you will find all future abundance.” Especially for women. Because life is uncertain. [22:35] Setting a higher standard for yourself. Walk before you run. If you are emotionally weighed down and lost, setting a higher standard means tomorrow you're going to wake up and add in hope. Baby steps. [24:05] Where Scout finds hope. No intellectualizing, don’t look for evidence. Just trust. Find something that sounds better than where you are today and hope for that. [26:30] How do you know the Universe is showing you your path? How to open our eyes so we can follow the breadcrumbs. [30:57] Why resting is as productive as healing. Filling our free time with what nourishes and restores: a bath, meditation, journaling, putting the phone away and reading a book, cooking with your own two hands, getting outside. NOT frying our nervous system with stimulation, stimulation, stimulation. [35:09] Scout’s first transformative spiritual experience -- where she felt in complete flow with the spiritual realm. Cracking Open Your Tuition with Isabeau Maxwell “Your guides will show you exactly what you need, and exactly what you can handle.” – Isabeau Maxwell “You hear me say this over and over again... The inner work is a BIG piece of this, because if you don't do the inner work, if you don't look at what's holding you back, if you don't look at the traumas and the difficulties that you've experienced and some early childhood stuff, and maybe even some past life stuff, and you don't clear that out – you can’t connect in this way. And it’s hard AF.“ – Dr Amy Robbins “When you go through inner work, when you raise your vibration, you're raising yourself up into a space of compassion, a space of higher understanding and knowing… there's more compassion, more love, more connectiveness in your life. You're able to set more healthy boundaries. You experience more joy.” – Isabeau Maxwell Episode Summary: Have you ever kicked yourself because you didn’t listen to your gut feeling? You know, when you JUST KNOW the right thing to do? What if you could amplify your intuition so the messages were clear as a bell? In this episode, we talk with Isabeau Maxwell, internationally known medium, author and teacher known for her compassion and accuracy. The fear, confusion or resistance that keeps them from fully crossing over. [18:32] The review process after death. Dr. Amy Robbins idea of what hell may be. Isabeau’s description of what Hitler experienced after death. [24:02] How to develop your own intuition. Everyone is a natural intuitive; it’s a matter of putting in the effort – practice Intuition is the sixth sense, just not a body-centered sense like the other five senses Defocusing on the “agreed upon reality” of the solid world [30:48] Difference between imagination and intuition, which flow through your brain the same way. Over time, however, you will be able to feel the difference. Imagination is a push, the intuition is a pull. Exercises to help you use imagination to spark intuition. [32:49] Synchronicities happen when you open your intuition and expand your channel. [36:27] The Sage Method – The approach Isabeau’s guide used – over two years - to show her to tap into her own intuition. Now a 7 week course Isabeau teaches. S3 Ep 214The Quantum Brain with Dr. Amit Goswami

THE QUANTUM BRAIN with Dr. Amit Goswami “Quantum entanglement aka quantum correlation is the integration of science and spirituality.” – Theoretical Quantum Physicist Dr. Amit Goswami Episode Summary: Have you ever wanted to find a bridge between science and spirituality? Does your intuition tell you it’s not a hard “either/or”? In this episode, we talk with theoretical quantum physicist Dr. Amit Goswami who was a physics professor at the University of Oregon from 1968 to 1997, and has appeared in the movies “What the Bleep Do We Know?”, “Dalai Lama Renaissance” and the award winning documentary, “The Quantum Activist”. Dr. Goswami is a revolutionary amongst a growing body of renegade scientists who in recent years have ventured into the domain of the spiritual in an attempt to both interpret the seemingly inexplicable findings of curious experiments, and to validate intuition about the existence of a spiritual dimension of life. His new book, “The Quantum Brain” is out now. Listen in to understand how Dr. Goswami bridges the chasm between quantum physics and conscious awareness. Today We Discuss: A basic concept in quantum physics is that there are multiple waves of possibilities. Quantum objects are waves of possibilities. When they are observed they become experience. When we observe something, we are choosing to collapse the object into a certain state. What we perceive as stationary – the Newtonian reality we are all familiar with – is not really stationary. Rather, apparently stationary objects are moving very slowly – much too slowly for us to perceive any motion. Which is why we can share experiences with others and how we develop a consensus reality. Our experience creates a convenient but inaccurate notion about reality. Our experiences create our reality; there is nothing in the world until we experienced it. The crucial question: How do we apply quantum physics to our everyday life? Quantum entanglement - when two quantum objects become essentially one and share information without signals being exchanged over space and time. This concept was verified with a space experiment in France in 1982. And of course by the experience of mystics 7,000 years ago, starting in India and then spreading to China, Greece, the Middle-East, and perhaps the America's in the hands of the shamans. This is where quantum science connects with mysticism, where it connects with spirituality. This is signal-less togetherness, spontaneous non-local togetherness; or in spirituality - Oneness. Quantum entanglement or quantum correlation is the integration of science and spirituality. Quantum Leap occurs when electrons make a transition from one atomic orbit to another. The notion of quantum leap comes into play with the experiences of intuition and insight, that feeling in the gut so compelling, so convincing that you know that you have seen truth. Changing brain behavior so that we are better able to choose a particular outcome. Through meditation we become the boss of our brain, vs the other way around. To learn creativity we have to take charge of the brain’s automatic responses through alternating between meditation and relaxation. Focus and then relax. Transport potential - Nonlocal transfer of information between two meditating brains. We are capable of quantum non-locality, and we are ultimately a non-local consciousness. Why traditional quantum physicists are not open to these concepts – due to pressure from the establishment to support the official position of the American physical society. How to live a quantum life The ultimate problem is that the brain evolved over millions and millions of years, and the conditioned response builds on itself. The persona “me” that I present to society gains strength over a lifetime. To move toward conscious awareness, and perception of reality, we need to maintain a lifestyle conducive to that state. We need to surround ourselves with things of love, things of beauty, and positive relationships; and not pay attention to all the negativity of the world. “The Seven I’s” for manifestation -- Inspiration, Intention, Intuition, Imagination, Incubation, Insight, Implementation FOLLOW DR. S3 Ep 213Where Do Our Loved Ones Go When They Die? with Mariel Forde Clarke

WHERE DO OUR LOVED ONES GO WHEN THEY DIE? with Mariel Forde Clarke “We all have the journey… It's already written into our sacred contract long before we come upon Mother Earth. And it is a lovely journey, but it can be so challenging and painful as well. The most painful experiences are the ones that our souls have called forth for learning and for mastery.” -- Mariel Forde Clarke “We all get messages from our loved ones, if we're open to it.” -- Mariel Forde Clarke “The heavens and the earth meet during our dream and sleep state.” -- Mariel Forde Clarke Episode Summary: We all miss the loved ones we’ve lost. Where are they? What did they experience when they crossed over? Where are they now? In this episode, we talk with Irish teacher and counselor Mariel Forde Clarke who had not one, not two, but THREE near death experiences (NDEs)! Wow! Listen in to understand how Mariel Forde Clarke has experienced life on the other side, and how she now communicates with spirit guides, and uses her gifts to help people heal and grow. We Discuss: Her THREE near death experiences! 1) falling off a roof as a child when her life flashed before her eyes, 2) near drowning while being trapped under a diving board, where she felt a man’s hands bringing her to the surface, although there was no one there, and 3) the most vivid of the three for Mariel – while hemorrhaging during surgery, hovering over her body and being catapulted into a place of heavenly music, rainbow color of light, a feeling of blissful euphoric peace without pain or worry, a feeling of undiluted love. The silver cord that connects our body to our soul, much like the umbilical cord connecting a baby to their mother. Except the silver cord remains in place during our lives, and keeps us connected to our higher selves and the spirit world. Even during near death experiences, the cord remains in place. The silver cord only snaps upon final death, that is when the soul is ready to leave earth. Soul fragmentation, often where one experiences repeated traumas (things like sexual or verbal abuse, alcohol abuse), or perhaps even multiple surgeries. Mariel’s treatment involves soul integration, when she perceives it as the right course, which can take many sessions over many hours. If soul integration or soul retrieval is not right for this person, she refers to a professional counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist. Fear during death and dying. How Mariel works with the dying, always with the permission of the soul. She finds those with a belief in the afterlife experience much less fear around their own death. How one’s experience of the afterlife is related to their belief system during life. Those with a belief system where they believe in a God or Allah or Buddha or Krishna leave this Earth plane much freer without struggle, without fighting. Those that don't have beliefs are the ones paralyzed, so afraid of crossing over. Different levels or spheres in the afterlife, contrasted with just the two traditional realms of heaven and hell, as is taught in many religions. The lowest levels are devoid of God’s light, like the flicker of a candle, and there is much learning to do, available through spirit guides and counselors, spiritual midwives. Why do so many people dismiss the possibility of any type of life after death? No theologian, no scientist, no doctor, no physicist in the world has ever stepped forward and said, categorically, there is no proof for afterlife. On the other hand, hundreds and thousands of doctors and scientists and physicists have endorsed the phenomena. Back to Plato and Aristotle, to philosopher Descartes (1600s), to scientist and mathematician Swedenborg (1700s) - they all support the afterlife, because they had so much evidential proof themselves. Einstein said there was a greater energy in the Universe, far greater than man, a supreme intelligence. S3 Ep 212Letting Go of Nothing with Peter Russell

Letting Go of Nothing with Peter Russel “Practice not-doing, and everything will fall into place.” – Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu Episode Summary: Can you really, truly let go? When you hear people talk about letting go, do you wonder what that even means? In this episode, we talk with Peter Russel, author, speaker and leading thinker on consciousness and contemporary spirituality. He earned an honors degree in theoretical physics and psychology, as well as a master’s degree in computer science at the university of Cambridge, England. He also studied meditation and Eastern philosophy in India. He has written 12 books, his latest is “Letting Go of Nothing”. Listen in to understand how Peter Russel views letting go as leaning into and allowing vs. resisting. Topics We Discuss: Tuning into the body - noticing, being curious about and exploring the sensations in your body without judging or labeling. How our thoughts can create the discontent in our lives. How the societal belief system around us reinforces our tendency to focus on what is wrong in our lives, and our subsequent want to correct them. Developing a practice via baby steps to step out of that habit of focusing on what is wrong. Ego is defined as a way of thinking which focuses on keeping you safe. How gaining the skill to recognize the ego when it comes up results in more contentment and recognizing the true self. Peter’s unique perspective of praying to the true self – the eternal sense of “I am” - vs praying to a higher power. Finding compassion for a difficult person in our lives heals us. The difference between Buddha’s life time, and the times we are living in with all the distractions of email, television, social media, etc. Follow Peter Russel: You can learn more about “Letting Go of Nothing" with forward by Eckhart Tolle - and purchase your copy at Peter’s website. S3 Ep 204The Science of Spirituality with Dr. Lisa Miller

Science FINALLY Catches Up with Spirituality with Dr. Lisa Miller “Life is like the winds or the river, life is moving. It is full of waves. Life is very much alive, very dynamic.” “We are knowers in many forms and we need empiricists AND scientists… the magician, the intuitive, the mystic. We need to ask the questions in our head, and get answers in our hearts… This is how the big decisions need to be made - decisions on the board room, decisions with foreign policy. If we use just a tiny little splintered part of our brain, we will not make the best decisions.” “The outward stuff falls in place when we follow the truth.” “Are we pushing the wave or are we surfing the wave? If I try to push the wave, I get drowned under, but if I surf the wave and my goal is to ride with the flow of nature, then I go places I didn't know I was going to go... It opens up in the realm of miracles and unforeseen opportunities and magnificent surprises.” “We're living the same life. We are the family of life. We are one human family and we are one living being.” Lisa Miller Episode Summary: Have you ever had an overwhelming feeling of inner-knowing pops up inexplicitly? Can current science validate that your gut feeling is real? In this episode, we talk with Dr. Lisa Miller, Columbia University professor of Clinical Psychology, and New York Times bestselling author of “The Spiritual Child”. Talk about credentials! A graduate of Yale and the University of Pennsylvania, she's the founder and director of the Spiritual Mind Body Institute, the first Ivy league graduate program and research institute in spirituality and psychology, and has held over a decade of joint appointments in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical School. Her innovative research has been published in more than 100 peer reviewed articles in leading journals including: Cerebral Cortex, American Journal of Psychiatry, and The Journal of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Miller is the editor of the Oxford University press Handbook of Psychology and Spirituality, founding co-editor-in-chief of the APA journal, Spirituality and Clinical Practice, and an elected fellow of the American Psychological Association and two time president of the APA Society for Psychology and Spirituality. WHOA! Her latest book, “The Awakened Brain”, is amazing. Dr. Miller describes it as “the culmination of 25 years of research. And equally importantly, interwoven with those 25 years of research, 25 years of life.” Listen in to understand Dr. Lisa Miller validate the science of spirituality, intuition, synchronicity. Topics We Discuss: Most women know to use awakened awareness, will make an important decision out of a deep inner hunch, their instincts, a transcendent dream, some sort of inescapable synchronicity. They will count on that form of mystical awareness far and above the sort of linear, lists of pros and cons and statistics. The hard-nosed empirical scientific materialism validates our spirituality as our birthright. MRI studies, genotyping studies, long-term clinical course studies all say that this deep form of awareness, our awakened awareness, the neuro docking station of transcendent spiritual experience -- A is real, B is our birthright, and C it is the foundation for greater health, greater recovery and renewal in times of suffering. How spirituality mitigates depression and addiction, suicidal deaths. Learning to trust that intuitive, inner-knowing as legitimate, right and true. Authenticity, synchronicity. Schumann Resonance – a high amplitude alpha wavelength within all of nature from the earth crust up one mile. The spiritually engaged brain vibrates at the wavelength of all creation of all nature of all life, the consciousness of the life, the loving felt substance of existence, the essence of existence, the family of life. “Spiritual bypassing” – the attempt to self-label as spiritual, without actually being spiritual. Dr. Lisa Miller assures we are all spiritual, and we can all count on our awakened brain. S3 Ep 203The Magic of Surrender with Kute Blackson

The Magic of Surrender with Kute Blackson “None of us has control in this life. Our demand that life go the way we want it is what causes so much suffering. Know that the degree to which you surrender determines the degree to which you are alive, the degree to which life can use you, the degree to which you enjoy life.” – Kute Blackson’s mother’s parting words, said with a smile Episode Summary: When it is imminent, will you be able to completely surrender to your own death? S3 Ep 201Tools for Your Life with Bridget Finklaire

Tools for Your Life with Bridget Finklaire “Consciousness is the key to human evolution.” -- Bridget Finklaire Episode Summary: What is consciousness? What is awareness? What are sacred geometries in nature? Weaving together the threads of her spiritual and professional journeys, Bridget Finklaire designed "The Bone Circle" - a unique, transformative and life-changing programme that ties together three significant areas of expertise: Intuition and creating, the sacred and the metaphysical, and therapy and healing Her new fictional and loosely biographical novel, Red Dress, is out now. How science is catching up. The qa Topics We Discuss: Awareness is becoming conscious of your thoughts, your words, your actions, what you do, how it affects you, how it affects others and the world! Working with women to empower and raise awareness is key to our evolution. It’s all about vibration – and love is the highest vibration. Light and matter have a frequency and a vibration. When you have conscious awareness and feel deeply, your vibration is higher, then you attract more of that same energy. When you feel good you feel vibrant. When you’re feeling badly, you don’t. Spiritual awakening is almost always a string of fleeting moments of awareness – like appreciating morning bird songs, or morning sunlight. It’s almost never “the big trumpet call”. Acceptance is a key step in the process of healing. As is choice. Tools to keep moving forward and process feelings of grief, sadness, depression, emotional pain… Schumann Resonance – the frequency of the Earth’s energy. Today We Experience a Powerful Soul Meditation Together! Enjoy one of Dr. Amy Robbins’ favorite meditations. More than quieting the mind… The goal of this meditation is to connect with our soul to align and commune with the soul, to experience a conscious unity, and then and bring the energy of the soul back into our personalities. Prepare the personality to receive those soul energies. The soul is the actor, and the personality is the role the actor is playing. Sit upright with a straight spine. Unwind with micromovements. Settle into stillness. Focus attention on the feet. Realize that right here, right now, all is well. Rest in this. Feel the earth below you – and how beautiful and powerful that is. Rest in this. Focus attention at the base of your spine. Imagine a column of light running up your spine to your heart. Feel a sphere like a bead of light at your heart, a place of inspiration and compassion. Recognize that all is well right here, right now. Imagine expanding your heart, and invite energy from the awakened collective heart into our own heart. Rest in this. Slowly rise up that column of light in a counterclockwise direction, and imagine a beautiful sphere of light above your head. Rest here. Recognize you a part of a soul tribe, your spiritual family, in and out of bodies. Attune to your soul tribe. Recognize the vast resources available within your soul tribe - protection, guidance, etc. Call on your soul tribe for those resources, even if you don’t know just what they are. Stand in openness in receiving. Expand your awareness, visualize bright spot high above you. Imagine the a cone of light from that high point coming down all around you. This divine light is shining down you at all times, and Earth supports you. Set an intention to live within these forces. Set an intention to share these subtle energies Let’s express gratitude for this time together and this sacred space we have created. S3 Ep 187Emotional Repatterning with Lisa Samet, ND

“We should all have the goal of emotional wellness. Because if we manage ourselves emotionally, we forestall a lot of physical disease that could be coming.” – Lisa Samet “Life is full of challenges, we will never get rid of those challenges. But we can navigate them better.” – Lisa Samet Lisa Samet, ND, is a well-known health practitioner who has appeared on the Dr. Oz show to promote homeopathy and naturopathic healing. She has an international practice based in Montreal, specializing in homeopathy, emotional wellness, nutrition and lifestyle optimization. Lisa Samet is the author of “Emotional Repatterning” (O-books.com). “Emotional Repatterning” provides insights, stories and real-life examples to deepen the reader's understanding of their own mind; the patterns of thinking and deep-seated beliefs that keep them feeling stuck and unhappy. Today we talk about: After working with patients extensively over the past 20 years, how feelings and emotions fit into her work as a naturopath; the mind-body connection. How emotional stress, or "wrong thinking" is responsible for not only great emotional suffering but oftentimes physical illness as well. You are not the victim of your genetics! Lisa’s personal experience with her youngest son’s mind blowing leukemia diagnosis, and the subsequent two year program of chemotherapy treatments in the traditional medical system. Her model of 8 spheres of emotion – what she calls “thinking traps” – which emerged from her practice: self-love, acceptance, responsibility, stories, cocreation, gifts, regret, and death. How death is not normalized in our culture, and because we don’t talk about it, it becomes a tabu topic. 5% of our awareness is conscious, therefore 95% is subconscious. Emotional Repatterning technique - akin to a software upgrade: 1) engage both the left and right sides of the brain, and then 2) replace long standing subconscious negative beliefs (often from childhood) like “I am not loveable” with more current positive beliefs like “I am a good person” or “I have great worth and value”. We then no longer see the world from such a distorted way. We see things from a more healed place, more clearly, where I know who I am. Emotional Repatterning typically takes a minute or two per belief that needs to be upgraded. In 1996 she experienced a severe hemorrhage in the left hemisphere of her brain causing her to lose the ability to walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life. Her memoir, My Stroke of Insight, documenting her experience with stroke and eight-year recovery, spent 63 weeks on the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list and is still routinely the #1 book about stroke on Amazon. In her groundbreaking new work, Dr. Jill shares how we all have two emotional and two cognitivemodules of cells that underlie four predictable characters: Left and Right Thinking and Left and Right Emotional. WHOLE BRAIN LIVING marries our psychology with our brain's anatomy, giving us the power to choose who and how we want to be in every moment regardless of our external circumstances. Dr. Taylor is a dynamic teacher and public speaker who loves educating all age groups, academic levels, as well as corporations about the beauty of our human brain and its ability to recover from trauma. In 2008 she gave the first TED talk that ever went viral on the Internet, which now has well over 26 million views. Her TED talk is in the top 10 TED talks of all time. Also in 2008, Dr. Taylor was chosen as one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” and was the premiere guest on Oprah Winfrey’s “Soul Series” webcast. S3 Ep 184What Would You Do on Your Last Day? with Alua Arthur

“Life only matters because we die.” – Alua Arthur “There is something absolutely miraculous about standing at the doorway of existence. I am absolutely humbled by it every time. Rather than it being heavy, there is a lightness of being that goes along with it because there is such a mystery to this human ride.” – Alua Arthur Alua Arthur is a death doula, attorney, adjunct professor, and ordained minister. Her goal is to bring grace and compassion to the cycle of life by planning for it and effortlessly tying up the loose ends. Going with Grace exists to support people when they answer the question, “What must I do to be at peace with myself so that I may die gracefully?”, and to support family members completing the affairs of their loved ones life after death. I am so excited to have Alua on the show today! Today we talk about: After 10 years as social justice attorney what triggered her transition to career path of death doula First, a literally accidental interaction with a young woman her own age facing death Next, helping a dear, close family member and her family walk toward his death, and the resulting grief and depression Then, deep dive into around the topics of death and dying Along with the heaviness and sadness of death -- there is also laughter, joy, tenderness, compassion; the juicy human emotions along with the difficult ones. The miracle of standing at the very doorway of existence. What she observes as death approaches: more difficulty interacting with the outside world, the life force diminishes, loss of appetite for food and drink, changes in skin. Often followed by a “death rally” just before death. We need a functional and cultural death literacy. Considering things like what happens to the body, finances, stuff, grief, what to say, what to do with leftover medication. We need Death Ed. How unlike as an attorney in court, she is able to cry with clients as a death doula Her organization Going With Grace – teaches how to surrender to the process of death. How death makes life more meaningful. Life only matters because we die. Swedish death cleaning – pairing things down, and holding onto only the essential stuff, considering someone needs to deal with your stuff after you are gone. Alua’s values to live authentically, boldly, as fully as possible. How one of these 365 days is our Death Day! We both talk about what we want our deaths to look like.
