Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris lead Sixers to comeback overtime win against Raptors. Out of Site podcast with Adio Royster and Dave Early.

The Philadelphia 76ers are streaking! They aren’t dead, yet. This team can be exciting. The Sixers defeated the Toronto Raptors 104-101 in overtime tonight in South Philadelphia to net their fifth game in a row and improve their record to 17-12. Joel Embiid had a night we’ve come to expect from him, but it was Tobias Harris pulling some extra duty with his continued hot shooting as he has been shooting almost 56% from three prompting him to tell folks in the post-game interview: “Watch out. I’m a sharpshooter.” Pascal Siakam held the Raptors together with all of the bubble gum and duct tape he had at his disposal, finishing with 38 (16 of which came in the third quarter). There were some questionable calls from the referees in the overtime period, but the Sixers still came out on top despite all of that. (SIDE NOTE: Thanks to Fred VanVleet for not cashing in on the litany of open looks given to him by the Sixers' defense in the fourth quarter.) The Sixers now have some things going, and that’s in large part to the improved play of James Harden. IN part two of the podcast, Adio Royster and David Early go into detail about how Harden feels about his legacy after opening up to Yaron Weitzman of FOX Sports. What does Harden think about his legacy this season and in the future in the city of Philadelphia? Harden has also been able to cultivate his partnership with Embiid thanks in large part to “time,” as he referenced. The pair have looked unstoppable when they’re both on the floor, healthy. This is evidenced by the 117.7 points per 100 possessions numbers so far this season. Your hosts are full of good cheer on the final Out of Site podcast before the holidays! The Gastroenteritis Blues: (149) Hey, Maybe We're Not Dead Yet

E

On today's episode of The Gastroenteritis Blues, Emily and Steve discuss an uncharacteristically sunny week in Sixers, as the team has suddenly won three straight! Albeit the first of them was a fall-from-ahead ugly one that they tried their hardest to give away to the Lakers-- no matter! Things are on the upswing for the home Sixers. Joel Embiid is leading the league in scoring, James Harden is back to playing well and even trying most of the time, and the role players are hitting shots. They dive into some hilariously contradictory quotes from the players and Doc Rivers, the play of Tobias Harris, and Dad Joel making an appearance. Joel Embiid is the Eastern Conference player of the week, but is Doc Rivers playing his stars too many minutes? Out of Site: With Adio Royster and Dave Early.

Happy Monday, Philadelphia 76ers fans! The Sixers have won two in a row (over the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets, respectively), and things are looking up (?). Assume the casual optimism there, of one of your hosts. Joel Embiid has been playing magnificently over the last week, and his efforts earned him his second Eastern Conference Player of the Week award after putting up 53 against Charlotte following yet another herculean effort in overtime against the Lakers. Is all of this too much? It may sound like a broken record at this point, but what happened to the load management of the stars? Embiid and James Harden have logged heavy minutes all season. Recently, Harden’s management has been frustrating after what seems like he was rushed back from a foot injury. In his first game back, he played way more minutes than he probably should have in that loss to the Houston Rockets. If the goal is getting everyone healthy come playoff time, the Sixers coaching staff is failing at that goal. That’s one item discussed on today’s podcast. After the break, Adio and Dave go around the league to see the shocking rise of the New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference – shouldered by the play of a healthy Zion Williamson. It’s also the first time (and not the last) that Bol Bol will be mentioned on this podcast if he continues to play better. It’s a fun podcast, Sixers fans. James Harden returns but the Sixers lose in double overtime to the Houston Rockets. Out of Site podcast. With Adio Royster and Dave Early

How? How did the Philadelphia 76ers lose to the Houston Rockets 132-123 on a night when James Harden returned to the Sixers' starting lineup after (allegedly) healing from a foot injury? How did the Sixers lose to a Houston Rockets team that (before tonight) had six wins on the season? Why did this team with Harden returning to the lineup with Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris (who quietly had another VERY GOOD game) need double overtime only to lose by nine in a game where they should have beat the brakes off a young, inexperienced team? There are no words to describe tonight’s loss, but your hosts Adio Royster and David Early will attempt to rationalize it as best they can. The Rockets won this game. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. They controlled the pace after falling behind 10-0 to start the game. The Rockets outrebounded the Sixers. They played harder than the Sixers. They had more heart than the Sixers. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Joel Embiid returns and leads the Sixers to a win over the Atlanta Hawks. Out of Site podcast: With Adio Royster and Dave Early.

Welcome back, Joel Hans Embiid! The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Atlanta Hawks at the crib at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia by a final score of 104-101. The Sixers were given a little extra Cameroonian gas when it was announced that Embiid would be returning from injury – unexpectedly, if you ask your hosts Adio Royster and David Early. That said, Embiid led the Sixers to the win scoring 30 points and adding eight rebounds and seven assists. Tobias Harris paced the team to start and finished with 24 and ten rebounds. Shake Milton continued his hot scoring streak with 21, and as a result, the Sixers move into fifth place in the Eastern Conference, with James Harden set to return within the next week or two. The defense was equally as impressive as their offensive attack holding All-Star guard Trae Young to 18 points off 6/14 from the field and only one of four from three-point range. Now that the Sixers have hit a bit of a stride with some unexpected places, they head to Memphis and Cleveland later this week. In part two of the podcast, Adio and Dave reflect on the return of one Benjamin Simmons to the Wells Fargo Center last week and what the atmosphere seemed like as the boos and the jeers of the crowd oozed through televisions and reverberations of said boos could be felt all over the city of Philadelphia. Now that we’re officially past the first visit, how could it/should it be any time Simmons comes to town? Adio and Dave discuss that and more on tonight’s podcast. Learn more about your ad choices. Out of Site: The Sixers' terrible injury luck continues. No Joel Embiid, James Harden or Tyrese Maxey when Ben Simmons returns to Philly. With Dave Early and Greg Dennis.

Dave and cohost fill-in Greg Dennis wonder if the team stepped on the gas (again) too much here with their top stars. If they were more careful with Harden, could they have kept Maxey and Joel’s minutes down a little more? Or is that asking too much? Why were they so all in for late October? Is that on Morey, or did Doc feel the heat? So now Ben Simmons will return as a player to Wells Fargo Arena, but there are no key Sixers to play! Out of Site: Recapping Joel Embiid's magical night, doubt in Doc Rivers and more with Dave Early.

On a regularly scheduled Out of Site Podcast (not a late Monday night post-game podcast), hosts Adio Royster and David Early give their final thoughts on one of the most epic Philadelphia 76ers and/or Joel Embiid performances of all time. Embiid scored 59 points and added 11 rebounds, eight assists and seven blocks in a 105-98 win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night. Despite the performance by Embiid and despite the Sixers being 7-7 after beating the Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns last week, why are your hosts still a little bit nervous about the team's prospects going forward? Could it be because the Sixers are having to lean VERY heavily on Embiid in the absence of James Harden (who won't be back until December)? Could it be because head coach Doc Rivers continues to sow doubts in this team's championship aspirations for the regular season and (more importantly) the playoffs? Adio and David give their thoughts on how the team has looked over the past week, as well as diving a bit into worst-case scenarios if Rivers is still the coach come playoff time Learn more about your ad choices. E

Why does this years team feel and look so utterly uninspiring? They talk about Joel Embiid's demeanor in the early part of this season, Tyrese Maxey's shooting struggles of late, and P.J. Tucker's workload. Plus: they go through the article from that circled Philadelphia media this week about how Doc Rivers shoudln't be the scapegoat for the Sixers' troubles. The Gastroenteritis Blues: (143) Harden is Hurt, Sixers Win some Games, the Nets are Disgusting

E

On tonight's episode of The Gastroenteritis Blues, Emily and Steve begin by discussing the unfortunate news of the day: James Harden is set to miss a month's time due to a foot injury. How will Harden's injury impact the following: Joel Embiid? Doc Rivers? Tyrese Maxey? De'Anthony Melton? Kemba Walker?? Listen to find out whether or not the hosts find Harden's elongated injury to be a big problem or not. They also discuss the week of games, where the Sixers went 3-1 and held its weight without Embiid. This week showcased to the gang Maxey's star potential (or reality) Melton and Georges Niang's value, and just how much Doc Rivers seems to loathe Paul Reed. In the second half of the pod, they discuss the NBA's decision to dock the Sixers' two future second round picks due to improper offseason contact with P.J. Tucker and Danuel House -- a decision both hosts found to be completely random and hypocritical. And finally, they talk about the mess going on in Brooklyn, from Kyrie Irving's devolution into antisemitism to the team's shambolic pursuit of suspended head coach Ime Udoka.
