S2203 Ep 3The Birdcage - 220303
No one goes through life without experiencing some form of suffering; possibly a fear of being bullied at school or work, pain from a debilitating illness, the mental anguish caring for a dying family member, or countless other forms of suffering. We can fathom the devil being behind our suffering, but do we consider that our suffering is sometimes allowed by God? If He loves us, why would He allow us to go through suffering? Get your Bibles ready as we dig into this important topic. S22003 Ep 2The Crucibles That Come - 220302
Suffering is a reality experienced by everyone in our world today, so how are we to make sense of our own suffering, or the suffering of those close to us? S2202 Ep 13Israel in Egypt - 220213
This quarter we have been on a journey through the book of Genesis. Today’s lesson closes that insightful series. We have learned about the Creator of this world and the universe; learned of the origin of sin and death; seen the first promise of the Saviour (Jesus Christ), and learned from the lives of the patriarchs before and after the flood. Today’s lesson will open up the closing chapters of Genesis; what will we discover? Let’s find out. S2202 Ep 11Joseph Master of Dreams - 220211
Joseph stands out as a great patriarchal figure, similar to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Although he was the 11th son of Jacob, he was the first son of Jacob’s true love, Rachel. Joseph’s early life with his brothers was turbulent, and Jacob’s family was heading for trouble. In today’s lesson we will see how God used tough training to providentially set Joseph apart as be the instrument of salvation for his family. S2202 Ep 10Jacob-Israel - 220210
Today we continue the story of the Bible character Jacob. We take up the narrative at the point where he is on his way back to the place of his upbringing. He must face his brother Esau whom he had wronged long before. What would happen when they came face to face? Could Jacob meet with Esau his brother in peace? Would God stay with him and his family group? In today’s study we will find that God is faithful in keeping His promises. Let’s open our bibles and dig into that story now. S2202 Ep 9Jacob the Supplanter - 220209
The life of Jacob the Patriarch, as recorded in Genesis, offers many spiritual insights for us today. Although Jacob needed to be taught some difficult character building lessons, God still counted him worthy. God used Jacob as a building block in the fulfilment of His covenant. Our Bible study today will dig into this encouraging promise. S2202 Ep 8The Promise - 220208
While Abraham was old and had no children, he believed God’s promise that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. That faith was tested. Abraham and Sarah had to wait until she was well passed child bearing years before God would work His miracle with the birth of their son Isaac. Following Isaac’s birth, did Abraham have more children in quick succession, or did God have more tests in store for him? Open up your Bibles as we look at the amazing life of Abraham during his parenthood years. S2202 Ep 7Jesus, the Anchor of the Soul - 220207
Abram and his wife Sarai obeyed God’s call to travel south from Haran to Canaan. After a 700km journey they arrived in Canaan—at a place called Sichem. A covenant is made with Abram to give the land to Abram’s children. But Abram was 75 years old (and Sarai 65), and they didn’t have any children. Were they really going to have children in their old age? The years passed and still no children. Did God really mean what He’d said? Have your Bibles ready as we examine Abram’s faith and trust in God. S2202 Ep 6The Roots of Abraham - 220206
Faith is one of the most important things in the Bible and, indeed, life itself. But what does faith look like? What happens when your faith goes for a bit of a slide? The best way to understand faith is not to try and explain it, but to see faith in action, to see someone actually living a real life of faith. That’s what we are going to explore today. S2202 Ep 5All Nations and Babel - 220205
Mention the word Babel without context, and it will mean different things to different people. It can be the name of an island in Tasmania; the name of a journal of linguistics; the name of a minor planet; or even a music label. The Biblical book of Genesis gives us the original meaning of Babel: the tower built after the universal flood which symbolised rebellion against God. This tower also marked the origin of multiple languages in our world. Let’s open our bibles together as we explore deeper into this fascinating story. Hosted by: Pr Clive NashGuests: Rosemary Malkiewycz, Pr John Kosmeier Download the study notes at this link: www.3abnaustralia.org.au/resources/do…s/lgs-notes/

S2202 Ep 4The Flood - 220204
In Genesis 1 God pronounces His six days of creation as being “very good.” But Genesis 3 records that the crowning act of creation (the first two humans, Adam and Eve) disobey God, and the curse of sin enters the world. Adam and Eve are cast out of Eden. Genesis 4 has the tragedy of Cain killing Abel and Cain’s offspring separating themselves from God. Genesis 5 outlines the chronology from Adam down to a man called Noah. And in Genesis 6 God declares His creation is no longer very good, and is instead continually evil. Today we are going to discuss the role of Noah as God uses a global flood to deal with the prevailing evil on Earth. S2202 Ep 3Cain and His Legacy - 220203
The Bible is full of prophecies that have already been fulfilled. The 300+ prophecies that Jesus fulfilled are classic examples of this. But what about the prophecies we are still waiting to see fulfilled? Waiting is the hard part. Today we are going to study Adam and Eve’s experience as they waited the promised coming of the Saviour the first time. S2202 Ep 2The Fall - 220202
The Bible book of Genesis is a historical account of our world’s beginnings. We have learned that God created a perfect sinless world. Adam and Eve, our first parents, lived in harmony with each other and with God. Today we will discuss what went wrong, we will find out why our world is in trouble, but we will also see that God had a rescue plan to restore humanity, the world, and indeed the universe. It’s an exciting topic, so I invite you to come with us as we jump into this study. S2202 Ep 1The Creation - 220201
Today we commence a new series of studies on the book of beginnings—Genesis. This amazing book is the first book of the bible and the base upon which all the following scriptures rest. Genesis is one of the most quoted or referred-to book in the rest of the Scriptures. But most importantly Genesis is actually about Jesus. Jesus as our Creator, Jesus our Sustainer, Jesus our Redeemer. Today we are going to be focusing on the creation of all things in Genesis 1-2. So have your Bibles ready as we embark on this remarkable journey. S2201 Ep 13Let Brotherly Love Continue - 220113
Paul’s letter to the Hebrews was intended to inspire and encourage the Hebrew readers with their faith in Jesus while they were experiencing persecution. Paul characterized the work of Jesus for us as “brotherly love.” Thus, believers should do for one another what Jesus has done for us. As we close our study on the book of Hebrews, we are going to look at Paul’s concluding remarks in Hebrews 13, and the important applications for us today. So have your Bible ready as we “Let God Speak” through God’s word. S2201 Ep 12Receiving an Unshakable Kingdom - 220112
This week we are looking at the climax of Hebrews 12. Historically we connect verses 18-29 with Exodus 19 (the assembling of Israel at Mt Sinai for the giving of the Law). But they are also relevant to us today—especially the appeal to Godly living. Please join us with open Bibles as we jump into this important study. S2201 Ep 11Jesus, Author and Perfecter of Our Faith - 220111
Martin Luther King Jr said “Faith is taking the first step even when you do not see the whole staircase.” But, you still need some fledgling faith on which to base your belief that your first step is going to land on the stair. Our faith, too, must be based upon some evidence and not be ‘blind’ faith. Hebrews 11 describes faith as confidence in God’s promises, even if we cannot yet see their fulfillment. In our discussion today we will explore what faith is, and how it is obtained, through examples from the past and, Hosted by: Rosemary MalkiewyczGuests: Kaysie Butler & Pr Clive Nash Download the study notes at this link: www.3abnaustralia.org.au/resources/do…s/lgs-notes/

S2201 Ep 10Jesus Opens the Way Through the Veil - 220110
Many people think Jesus’ mission was solely to die on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins, there is emphasis placed only on His death. As marvellous and incredible as that act of love is, the Book of Hebrews explains that His mission involves so much more. This study will discuss Jesus as the fulfillment of the yearly feasts and sanctuary services, and will also look at Jesus’ current work on our behalf in heaven. So grab your Bibles and join us as we explore this important topic. S2201 Ep 9Jesus, the Perfect Sacrifice - 220109
Hebrews conveys the message that it was necessary for Jesus to die in our place for us to be saved, as “without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.” (Hebrews 9:22). Today’s study will look at Jesus’ role in the shedding of blood, and how that connects with God’s covenant. That will require us touching on the Jewish temple sacrifices, the priesthood of Jesus, and what they all mean for us today. Please stay with us for this interesting study. S2201 Ep 8Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant - 220108
In Old Testament times, God made covenants or agreements with individuals and with the nation Israel. In our discussion today, we hope to discover that Jesus Christ was not only a better sacrifice, but the Author of a better covenant too. I invite you to open your Bible, find the letter to The Hebrews, and prepare to learn about Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant. S2201 Ep 7Jesus, the Anchor of the Soul - 220107
In Hebrews 5 and 6, Paul admonishes his audience because they are feeding upon the milk of the Bible, he says it would benefit them to migrate to the more solid food of God’s word. Those who do this find their senses awakened to more accurately discern between both good and evil (see Hebrews 5:14). The texts we will look at today could be considered a warning against ‘the dangers of not progressing into mature Christians.’ Please join us for this important study. S2201 Ep 6Jesus, the Faithful Priest - 220106
In our previous study, the topic “Jesus the giver of rest” was introduced. Today we will discuss another of Jesus Christ’s significant roles. In the letter to the Hebrews, Jesus is portrayed as our faithful high priest, He wants to plead the merits of His sacrifice on your behalf and mine. So open your Bibles with us as we find out more about our heavenly high priest. S2201 Ep 5Jesus, The Giver of Rest - 220105
In many countries around the world, the mental health services are stretched to their limits as people grapple with their fears concerning everything that is happening in the world. Threats from terrorism, natural disasters, pandemics, wars, political unrest, and more are highlighted daily by the media, yet amidst all these troubles, lasting rest is available to us. S2201 Ep 4Jesus, Our Faithful Brother - 220104
The book of Hebrews describes Jesus as the Sovereign Creator, the Divine Lord, and truly God. Yet Hebrews also describes Jesus as fully human, our merciful redeemer, and our brother. Jesus is our faithful High Priest in Heaven, today we will to discuss why Jesus became fully human, and what it means that Jesus, who is truly God, is also truly our brother. S2201 Ep 3The Promised Son - 220103
When Jesus first came to this earth as the Son of God, He performed several important functions: He fulfilled many earlier promises God had made to the Human race, while revealing more of the Father’s character to the world. Our Bible study today will look into these. S2201 Ep 2The Message of Hebrews - 220102
Today we will outline the main message in the book of Hebrews. Unsurprisingly, the focus of Hebrews is Jesus – who He was, who He is, and what that means to us. So open your bibles to Hebrews and prepare to meet Jesus. S2201 Ep 1The Letter to the Hebrews and to Us - 220101
Today’s episode begins a new series examining the New Testament book of Hebrews. Bible writers were inspired with messages for their time, but God also sent these truths for the benefit of people in subsequent generations. Sometimes I wish we had a photograph taken — or a portrait painted — of Jesus from when He was here on earth. Thankfully, we were given a written picture of Jesus. As we open our Bibles today, we will see that painting in words. S2104 Ep 13The Resurrection of Moses - 210413
Today we conclude our series looking at the Book of Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy means “second law,” and it contains a series of appeals Moses gave the Israelites as they approached the borders of the promised land. In essence Moses says: “You are finally about to enter the Promised Land! Once you do, don’t forget what the Lord has done for you, nor what He asks of you now — to love Him with all your heart and soul, and to demonstrate that love by obeying all His commandments.” Although the children entered the Promised Land, Moses only saw it from afar. To close this series, we will investigate Moses’ death and the wonderfully surprising event that followed. S2104 Ep 12Deuteronomy in the New Testament - 210412
While some Christians believe the Old Testament no longer has any authority or relevance, Jesus (and other inspired writers of the New Testament) used the Jewish Scriptures as an authority in their life, their actions, and their teachings. In this way they affirmed what Mark recorded: “the Scriptures must be fulfilled” (Mark 14:49). The Old Testament was quoted, alluded to, and referenced by the Gospel writers and the Apostle Paul, therefore the Old Testament has authority in our lives too. S2104 Ep 11Deuteronomy in the Later Writings - 210411
The Bible is a special book. Although it contains 66 separate books, written by 40 authors over 1500 years, who were situated on three separate continents and spoke three different languages, it is incredibly interconnected. Today’s study will specifically look at Deuteronomy’s connections with other books of the Bible. S2104 Ep 10Remember, Do Not Forget - 210410
How good is your memory? People often say they have a poor memory for people’s names. For some of us, painful events from the past are hidden away in a corner never to be visited again. God however wants us to remember some everlasting truths. In today’s study, we will look at some events that are worth remembering. Take your Bible and come join us as we begin. S2104 Ep 9Turn Their Hearts - 210409
New–born babies are just so adorable! All of their gestures and gurgling sounds are so incredibly cute. And when they look up at you, smile, and reach out their little hands to you, you can’t stop your heart from melting. Looking at them can, however, cause us to stop and think; "Could these lovely little bundles of joy really start off life as sinners? Was Adam and Eve’s original sin really passed on down to them through their parents?” Hosted by: Dr Sven ÖstringGuests: Rosemary Malkiewycz & Pr Mike Browning Download the study notes at this link: https://www.3abnaustralia.org.au/resources/downloads/lgs-notes/

S2104 Ep 8Choose Life - 210408
None of us asked to be here, did we. Neither did we choose where or when we were born, or who our parents would be. We do, however, get to choose whether we want to continue living forever—which is something God provides on the terms that He, the Giver and Sustainer of life, has graciously offered us through Jesus’ sacrifice. We can live eternally on God’s terms, or we can live life temporarily on our terms, the choice is ours. Please join us as we look into this most important opportunity God gave to people living in bible times—which He also offers us too. S2104 Ep 7Law and Grace - 210407
The relationship between God’s law and God’s grace is often discussed. While sometimes incorrectly set in opposition to one another, rightly understood both concepts work together and are involved in God’s plan of redemption. Our Bible study today will investigate this. S2104 Ep 6For What Nation is there So Great? 210406
Last week, we learned that we are to love God and our neighbours. This includes the poor, the weak, the outcast and the stranger. Today we will continue to discuss themes from the book of Deuteronomy, we will discover that Israel were supposed to learn from their history—and that’s a good lesson for Christians today. So, take your Bibles and join with us as we begin. S2104 Ep 4To Love the Lord Your God - 210404
In the Hebrew Old Testament Scriptures, the word “love” appears mostly in the book of Deuteronomy and in the book ‘Song of Solomon.’ Deuteronomy is essentially about covenant—that is, the relationship between God and His people. Love is an important theme of that book. This lesson will examine a key element of what Moses said to the people: “to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. S2104 Ep 3The Everlasting Gospel - 210403
When we say, “Nothing lasts forever” the perspective from which we are speaking is influenced by our mortality. Most of the things we see, use, or make wear out. Only God is eternal, only He can make things that are everlasting—such as His covenant with fallen sinful humanity. Today we will look at this everlasting covenant through the biblical pages of Deuteronomy. So take your Bible and join us on this journey. S2104 Ep 2Moses' History Lesson - 210402
This quarter looks at ‘Present Truth in the Book of Deuteronomy,’ and today we will focus upon Moses, and the foundation and beginning of the 5th book of the Pentateuch—which is the book of Deuteronomy. Our lesson today is entitled ‘Moses’ history lesson,’ we will use a thematic approach to this study—which means that we will use other Old and New Testament books of the Bible to establish important Biblical principles based around today’s theme. S2103 Ep 13The Ultimate Rest - 210313
These days it is the scientists—not the religious people—who are preaching doom for our planet. People are worried, stressed, and fearful, as they are told to prepare for a bleak future filled with global unrest. But there is hope for the future, a bright hope. Where do we discover this bright hope of peace and rest? Have your Bible’s ready as we explore this important topic. S2103 Ep 12The Restless Prophet - 210312
The name “Jonah” has entered into the English language as a proverb. To “be a Jonah” is a negative thing. Jonah, however, was actually a real person. Jesus himself spoke of the man. Today we will discover that Jonah was a restless prophet, but there is more that we can learn from his story. Have your Bible handy as we dig a little deeper into Jonah’s life. S2103 Ep 11Longing for More - 210311
The saying “There is no rest for the wicked” is used a lot in the workplace these days. It has adopted the meaning that we each need to keep working even if we are completely exhausted. In this busy and stressful world, we all yearn and long for peace and rest. So have your Bibles ready, as we explore what God says in His word about having true peace and rest. S2103 Ep 10Sabbath Rest - 210310
The Christian God of the Bible has a special liking for the number seven. The seventh day was the sabbath day, the seventh year was the sabbatical year, and after 49 years (7 × 7) came the year of Jubilee. The seventh new moon was the day of trumpets, the seventh month of the year was for festivals. The Passover lasted seven days, seven weeks lie between Passover & Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles lasted seven days too. Even Jewish boys were circumcised at seven days old. In the Book of Revelation there were seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven last plagues. Please join us today as we look at the most important ‘seven’ of them all—the seventh day Sabbath—and why God made it holy. S2103 Ep 9The Rhythms of Rest - 210309
Even before our human race would dash off to our self-imposed stressful lives, God placed a day each week as a marker, and as a living memory aid for rest. God wanted this day to be a time for us to stop and deliberately enjoy life—a day to be and not do, to celebrate the gift of grass; air; wildlife; water; people; and, most of all, Him: the Creator of every good gift. Today we are going explore God’s wonderful invitation to rest. S2103 Ep 8Free to Rest - 210308
Disease, sickness and pain can sometimes cause us to question if God is there, and make it difficult to experience the rest that God desires for us. Far from being distant in our pain and suffering, Jesus brings rest to our lives through acts of healing. Our Bible study today will investigate and reveal this. S2103 Ep 7Rest, Relationships and Healing - 210307
Many stories have come to light through the media of people who have been able to forgive perpetrators of crime. The act of forgiveness has been healing both for the person forgiven, and for the one offering forgiveness. In this study, we will look at revenge and forgiveness not only through the eyes of Joseph in the Old Testament, but also Jesus Christ in the New Testament. So, have your Bible at hand as we begin. S2103 Ep 6Finding Rest in Family Ties - 210306
In her classic 1960s prize-winning novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” American writer Harper Lee has her main character say “you can choose your friends but you sure can't choose your family.” Sometimes our relationships with family members can be difficult—to say the least! But we can find peace in such circumstances. Today we are going to look at a remarkable story of a young man who grew up in a troubled, dysfunctional family, and how he found peace amongst life’s hardships. Joseph suffered rejection, physical and verbal abuse from his brothers and then slavery, false accusation and imprisonment. He could have become embittered and hateful. But he remained positive and hopeful. We are going to look into his remarkable life and see how he prevailed.
