Being thankful has a powerful effect on our bodies. Studies reveal gratefulness reduces stress and burnout, while enhancing happiness and emotional well-being. But it gets better. The studies also reveal women with high gratitude live about 9% longer on average, thus tying a link between a grateful mindset and an extended lifespan in older adults. We often think of the Exodus story as a journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. It is true that the migration was geographical; but it was also theological. When Israel arrived at Mount Sinai, God said that He had brought them to Himself. We can be glad that our best destination is God. We search for meaning in life. We seek for it in money, in power, or in pleasure. But meaning is found in a relationship with our Maker, God Himself.
