Klein/Ally Show: The Podcast

Jake was sad during the show today after getting terrible news about a family member passing away. RIP to Jake's second cousin Detective Randy Hoppert who was hardworking, funny and generous, all things Jake is not. But we quickly discovered that Blind Charlie coming in-studio to shave Klein's head would make Jake feel a whole lot better, so that's the plan for Monday.. We also checked in with our new Coachella Camp correspondent Anthony, who only got 3 hours of sleep last night because his neighbors were fighting over drugs. Yay! We heard from Johnny too, who sounded like he was on drugs even though he wasn't. We pitched him several Coachella ideas to him, all of which involve Johnny being inconvenienced or humiliated. In other news, Klein has been watering a fake plant for the last year and he swears this does not make him an idiot. He even promised to bring in said fake plant to prove to us that we'd 'never be able to tell the difference.' Plus a chat about odd relationship rules, Johnny Doesn't Know: desert edition, and perhaps the weirdest & dumbest thing we've ever done for Coachella tickets.

We tried to give out free gas today to anyone listening to KROQ at a local gas station, and when Johnny hit the streets things got confusing fast. How can the simple act of Giving Tanks go south so quickly? Klein's wife thinks their dog Jerry needs therapy. (I know, she's crazy). And speaking of crazy, Ally's wife is a therapist and joined the show to give tips on how to conquer Jerry's fear of men, which included playing him a series of traumatic videos on a big screen. Plus the return of El Cheapo: Disneyland edition, a nail-biting round of Gen Wars, and we go through our list of Most/Least Awkward people on the show.

#Gonetoosoon. 323-TIP-BOLI is no longer the phone number for KROQ after the corporate executives finally paid the bill. But today we had the chance to premiere some fresh new jingles for the phone number which will live in our hearts forever. After learning mid-show that the old number was back, we closed it out with a tear-jerker folk song bidding farewell to a number that was too wild to live and too beautiful to die. Are you team Johnny or team Klein/Ally? Johnny is going to Coachella and told us earlier this week that he needs this Friday AND next Friday off to 'capture content' for the station. One follow-up email confirmed this is not true. Did Johnny try & lie his way into a three-day weekend? Or was it just another Simple Jack misunderstanding? We also heard your biggest red flags for six flags tickets, which included a woman who's date showed her a blog of his 'marathon pees,' and we discussed our new Employee of the Month honor at work & what we all plan to do with our shiny new $100 gift card!

Someone didn't pay the KROQ phone bill. Sad and pathetic? Yes. Should a multi-million dollar radio company be able to pay a simple monthly phone bill? Absolutely. They did give us an alternate number to share on the air which didn't exactly roll off the tongue, and translated to the call letters 323-TIP-BOLI. Write it down, kids! We also learned that Vanessa might be entering a throuple without realizing it. Her best friend has a new boyfriend, and she's happily third-wheeling it on their dates while not having to pay a dime for drinks or food. Are they expecting sexual favors in return? We submitted a new crop of nominees for Lifetime Achievement Awards. Who gets your vote?? - Useful Neighbor (mechanic, handyman) - Clean Porta Potties - The person with a spare charger - Snack Size Ziplock bags We also got an unexpected call from comedian Brad Williams and we got to ask him about his weird hair transplant!

Klein is sunburned, Ally went country, and Johnny went gay (we think). A lot happened over the break, but we started with Vanessa telling us about her 'adult' Easter Egg hunt, which upon further questioning was definitely meant for children. We kicked off a new streaming month with the return of Netflix/Notflix. Would you watch a dating show where you date one of your exes in disguise? We also heard about times you lied to the police to get out of a ticket, and apparently poop stories always work! Also Jake talked to drunk people about the origin of Easter, a follow-up on Omar's confrontation with Howie Mandell, and Johnny reveals that he spent his break taking in the '3 G's," which he was unable to name. So it's definitely guys, guys and more guys.

We're back LIVE on Monday and we've missed you so much! ...not really. But that sounds nice, right?
