We are starting this year off with one of our annual history lessons. This one is on the struggle of the working class to amass rights. Today we will talk about the Thibodaux Massacre and the Vancouver general strike of 1918.The Thibodaux Massacre is the story of newly freed slaves working on sugar plantations in Louisiana. Although the slaves had been freed, the wages and living conditions shared many similarities to their past lives. The workers strike and shit goes down.The Vancouver general strike was only a one day event that was spurred on by the death of Ginger (a local union organizer) but it is an important part of Canadian history and part of a chain of massive strikes that ripped through Canada in the late 1910s. Definitely worth the listen. What a treat we have for you this week start to finish.Start is the great disaster of May 2, 1845 that started with a clown who was advertised to sail up the river Bure in a washtub pulled by four geese. It's getting spooky out there! the air is a little cooler, the branches just sway in a more menacing fashion, our fashion sense just leave our minds as we are forced to prepare for a season which global warming assured me was a thing of the past... It's another spooktacular Halloweeny episode! But first we must get the important information about protein and pee out of the way. Looking for a cool and nice float down a river in Connecticut, well for $100 for a family of 4 look no further! 4/5 on trip advisor... except for this one that Taylor found. Next up, a couple churches! Churches you ask?! Yes! The first is Frauenkirche in Munich, Germany in which houses the footprint of the Devil and St Mary's in Lubeck, Germany which houses a large slab that was supposedly picked up by the Devil to be hurled at the Church to destroy it, he didn't do that though because he got a wine bar. In both instances the Devil's incredibly good nature was taken advantage of by those pesky humans which kind of makes up sympathize with the devil wink wink.Now venture with us over to Slovenia where we will find more things related to Hell, this time with a cave. This time there is less tricking of the Devil, we were starting to feel bad for him. The cave; Jama Pekel. It's quite steamy given the warm environment in the cave meeting the outside when its cold. The steam combined with spikey stalactites and Palaeolithic human remains found in the save make for pretty sus Hell circumstances. 4.5/5 on Trip advisor, bring cash! Last but certainly not least the Devil's highway, the previously named route 666. The road is hailed as one of the most haunted places in America, with a long, bizarre history of all manner of weirdness, bad luck, inexplicable accidents, ghosts, apparitions, spectres, and various other unexplained phenomena. My god can you believe what's happening at our schools?? It's out of this world! And by that of course I mean the kids are seeing UFOs.
