So I want to talk about some shady dealings that went down in Japan, and to do that I'm pretty sure many of us need a history lesson. So here it is! Japan like you've never thought of it, let's call this the pre-anime post-ninja period because lets face it we need historical markers.
We start this episode looking at the little colonial power that could and some of its impact on Asia that is usually forgotten about. from there we look at all things post war. Starting with the SCAP tribunal that governs the land, it's promise of openness, and then opennesses quick reversal as it seemed slightly inconvenient. Then of course we move to SCAP leaving and ensuring a horrible deal for Japan to have to just put up with the US for a while. At one point a car gets vandalized and the bro inside gets very upset, cops are called... its a lot of fun. Come for the listen and stay because there are two more episodes in this mini-asian excursion!
In the intro we discuss shrinkflation! That little known buddy of inflation that pops his head up where you least expect it.
