2,174 episodes — Page 41 of 44

December 15 - Sam Neill, Auckland's Friendliest 24 Hour Gym, Jono's Remote Control...
On today's show, we were joined by a couple of wonderful guests. Firstly, we had Kiwi actor Sam Neill who you may know from Jurassic Park or Hunt For The Wilderpeople. We also had Scarlett and her dog Coco from Dog Almighty ahead of the final tonight on TVNZ 2. As well as this, we reflected on when we visited 5-year-old girl Vivian to deliver her some presents ahead of Christmas. She has had a really tough year fighting cancer and going through chemotherapy, and she had a Zoom call with Santa while we delivered her some presents. It was a special moment! The video will be on our social channels today too. Finally, Ben took the credit for being a great & admirable parent when he probably shouldn't have. Cheeky Ben!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 14 - Sesame Street's Grover, We Debut Our 2020 Christmas Song, Ben's Good Deed
Kia Ora! Today we were joined by the one and only Grover from Sesame Street. He's the loveable blue character with the big red nose and my god he made us laugh. Jono also did a very good deed that Ben witnessed last week, that Ben also wanted to do. So he attempted it. But it backfired and just got awkward! Finally, we have released our very own Christmas song! Called 2020 CAN KISS MY CHRISTM-ASS. And it's really good, but only because we feature in about 5% of it. Kiwi singer Vince Harder was the reason it turned out so good! All that and so much more on today's poddy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 11 - Jordie Barrett, Ben Needs Your Help Choosing Amanda's Present, Who's Having The Best Weekend?
If you've listened to us quite a lot since we started at The Hits you'll know that Ben once made a big mistake with a gift he once gave his wife Amanda. A frying pan. IT WAS MEANT TO BE A ROMANTIC GIFT. She has never let him live it down. So we wanted some solutions on what Ben could get Amanda for Christmas and we had some hilarious (and practical) ideas! We also had All Black Jordie Barrett on the phone and there's a little kid who's a huge fan of him, so we surprised him with a phone call with Jordie, it was adorable. We also played Stealing Santa with The Hits team and it was a lot of fun because we ruthlessly stole all of producer Juliet's presents. Enjoy the poddy & enjoy your weekend, today was a fun one!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 10 - Rachel House, The A To Z Of New Zealand, Are You Hard To Buy Presents For?
Today we discussed your "Sitter Stories", whether it was house sitting or babysitting and what went wrong. We had some absolute golden stories, one involving a spa overflowing all the way down the road. We also played The Jargon Game, Christmas edition. Ben had to call a random cafe and make a booking while at the same time trying to drop in words like "North Pole" "wrapping" and "Claus". Finally, Jono had a very awkward situation while at the petrol station yesterday when he forgot to bring his EFTPOS card.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 09 - The Google Search Game, Erana James, The Greatest Christmas Songs Of All Time
The list of what New Zealanders Googled the most in 2020 has been released (including why were cornflakes invented, but that's one you can Google yourself... #NSFW) so we road-tested a game involving Google with you guys. It went horribly pear-shaped first attempt! Jono also has a bit of a bugbear (quite literally) because his pantry is infested with weevils and he doesn't know what to do about it. Finally, Ben utilised the old props from the Jono and Ben TV show to create his own creepy Santa in his lounge, much to his wife's disapproval. Enjoy the poddy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 08 - Big News Small Town, Santa's Naughty Or Nice List, Who Has The Best Neighbour?
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to date an international conman, well we talked to a lady who did just that. How did she find out? Did she see any warning signs? Did he try to con her? We asked her all those questions and it was super interesting to hear about it. We also got told by someone yesterday we were finally on an "age-appropriate" radio station. And yes, we have been on different stations in the past. But is that a compliment or an insult that we're finally on an age-appropriate station? We discussed this! Finally, we decided whether we were on the naughty or the nice list this year, and it might surprise you.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 07 - Doggy Dan, Big News Small Town, Do Different Coloured M&M's Taste Different?
Hello and happy Monday, 18 days until Christmas! If you know us, you'll know we love a good pun. And Ben's daughter Indie REALLY made him proud when she told a great punny joke, one that made Ben question whether she stole it from the internet. We also crossed to some Big News from a Small Town - Dylan from Rangiora received a very passive-aggressive note in his mailbox telling him to mow his berm because it looked ugly compared to the neighbours... He read us the letter and Jono had some assumptions about who wrote it! Doggy Dan also came on the show to answer your dog-related questions. He was probably a dog in a past life because that's how much he knows about dogs! Finally, former All Black Carlos Spencer joined us to talk about his new TV show - Carlos' Reno Rescue. Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 04 - Nadia Lim, The COVID Announcement Dance Song, Work Christmas Party Stories
Kia Ora and TGIF! Today we debuted what will be New Zealand's hottest summer song this year to keep us all safe. Think Sandstorm by Darude mixed with the Covid-19 ad... It's brilliant. Last night was also our work Christmas party and we asked you guys who has had the best Christmas party and there were some stories! Finally, we caught up with Nadia Lim who has a new childrens book out and it's adorable! What can't that woman do!? Enjoy the pod!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 03 - Jullian Bell, Rules For The Work Christmas Party, Bad Guys In Action Movies
If you've seen 22 Jump Street, you'll know the face of Jillian Bell (she got to fight Jonah Hill in it!) We chatted to her over Zoom about her new movie Godmothered and my god she's hilarious. Yesterday Jono went and sorted his will out because he hasn't done it yet, but he took his daughter Poppy along to the meeting. But kids don't know when they need to act appropriately, they have no awareness! And she embarrassed him TWICE during the meeting which proves to us all, don't take your kids to meetings because it'll be a shambles! We also chatted about the movie scenes that always make you cry, and for some reason, Ben always cries during cartoon movies...! That and more on today's pod!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 02 - Vince Harder, The Worst Chores Of All Time, Your Present Traditions
Kia Ora! On the show today we caught up with singer Vince Harder and played a wee game, he and his wife sang along to some surprise instrumentals we threw at them, like absolute PROFESSIONALS. If you listen carefully, Jono pipes up at the end of one of them, ruining the song... Shhhh Jono! We also found out that Elton John and his family have a ONE PRESENT RULE at Christmas time so we asked you guys about your present traditions. Ben also shared a story about how his daughter Indie fist-pumped at the most bizarre thing. She is one unique child! Enjoy the poddy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

December 01 - Matt Brown, The Waiting Game At A Wedding, Our Countdown To Christmas
Hellooooo! If you haven't seen or heard yet, an adorable little 5 year old boy from Christchurch, Angelou Brown, sent out a video to Dwayne The Rock Johnson as part of a campaign his family have been working on to end domestic violence. Angelou wanted The Rock to wear the tshirts they've had made that say "She Is Not Your Rehab" to spread this message to all his followers and fans. WELL, The Rock reposted Angelou's video last night with a beautiful message, and we chatted to Matt Brown (Angelou's dad) about this movement and The Rock's involvement. It's a very sweet and important story and a wonderful chat with Matt. On a slightly different note, Jono's daughter Poppy has a little obsession with insects. Once she wanted Jono to help her find a snail at 9.30pm, and now she's wanting him to help her build a worm farm. The issue is Jono has to find the worms and it's really not a task he's keen to do! We also caught up with professional competitive eater Nela Zisser who set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat the most chicken nuggets. And Ben surprised Jono with his least favourite food EVER, and Jono had to eat it! All that and a whole lot more today!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 30 - NZ's Longest Engagement, Anna Coddington, Jono Avoided Who??
Kia ora and happy Monday, TOMORROW IS DECEMBER, HOW WEIRD. Today on the show we chatted with you guys about who is going to the most Christmas dinners this year, and also who has had the longest engagements, there were some goodies! Dr Michelle Dickinson aka Nanogirl aka genius scientist gave us an update on the Covid vaccines and answered some of your questions, man she raises the IQ of the show whenever she's on! And Jono told a story about the lengths he went to to avoid bumping into someone in public. Something rather innovative! Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 27 - The Wiggles, Car Park Etiquette, Ben's Awkward Accountant Moment
TGIF! No better feeling! On today's show we caught up with Anthony & Emma from The Wiggles ahead of their New Zealand tour next year. We decided to "audition" for The Wiggles and they judged us on whether or not we'd make the cut... Ben also shared an embarrassing situation that his friend was in when he was chatting to his accountant, which is a conversation you certainly don't want to have with your accountant! Jimmy Neesham also joined us, and Ben is desperate to go to the cricket tonight (but he has an important family dinner). So he took the opportunity to phone his wife Amanda and ask her, but she had the added pressure of Jimmy Neesham being there! All that & more, enjoy the pod and enjoy your weekend!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 26 - Jono's Dream Job, Six60, Is It Ok To Call Your Partner 'Mate'?
Pulling back the curtain a bit, off-air (as well as on-air) Jono calls everyone "mate". And it's become such a habit that sometimes he calls his wife, Jen, "mate" too. But Jen haaaaates it. And we wanted to figure out if all women hate being called mate by their partner, or if it's just a general term that can be happily thrown around! (We even called Jen to see how many "mates" Jono could slip in before getting told off...) Two of the boys from Six60, lead singer Matiu Walters and guitarist Chris Mac, also came in for a chat and we pitched a couple more movie ideas to them. Finally, we created a parody song of the ever-popular Savage Love song by Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685, but changed it to MARRIAGE LOVE! We're terrible singers so we enlisted the help of two wonderful singers you may know the names of...!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 25 - The Wild Twins, NZ's Most Organised Christmas Shoppers, Big News Small Town
How would you feel being in the ocean, trying to catch your own fish for dinner, surrounded by hungry sharks who are also after the same fish? And on top of that, being naked and being filmed for a TV show? Horrifying, we know. The Wild Twins Amber and Serena are two Kiwis who have once featured on a previous edition of Naked and Afraid (set in Africa where they had to hunt their own food, while constantly being preyed on by big African cats...), and now they're on Naked and Afraid of Sharks! It was super interesting chatting to them about how they fought off the sharks and what the biggest challenges were. Was it being naked on TV or trying to survive in shark-infested waters? Jono also shared a funny story about his daughter Poppy who got a bit confused when referring to the male anatomy... On top of this, Ben's kids started a wild rumour about him and the types of movies he's watching. Shark content, kid content, ALL THE CONTENT for you on this fine Wednesday!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 24 - Clarke Gayford, The Happy Birthday Game, Whose Got The Most Loyalty Cards?
On today's show we caught up with Clarke Gayford about his new documentary "Shark Lockdown" which sounds as scary as it is. I mean, who would willingly put themselves in shark infested waters... Not us. But clearly Clarke...! He also shared with us what it was like when he and Jacinda met The Queen, and what they all talked about. Ben also shared the funny thing his daughter Indie said to Santa when she met him at Snowplanet on the weekend, and it just goes to show how advanced technology and how smart kids can be these days! As well as this, we held a little competition on who has the most loyalty cards, Ben or a listener, because my gosh it's easy to accumulate them all! Enjoy the pod!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 23 - David Williams, The News In Beeps, What Were You Roped Into Doing?
Hello and welcome to Monday! Today we had a great interview with David Walliams. He's a comedian, children's author (they say the new Roald Dahl! Our kids loooove his books) and also a judge on Britain's Got Talent. He's a hilarious man and spilt some secrets about Simon Cowell! Also over the weekend, NZ's oldest mum gave birth at age 64 which is awesome. We also had an interview with Cristin Milioti - she plays Leonardo DiCaprio's wife in The Wolf of Wall Street, she's the mother in How I Met Your Mother, and is now in a new film with Andy Samberg. But we played a bit of a joke on Jono during the interview! Finally, Ben was left to keep an eye on his friend's child when they were out and about, but as you would expect it went a bit wrong and the kid went AWOL!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 20 - Lance Savali, Jono's Worst Moments Of The Week, Where Were You Last Stranded?
It's FRIDAY and there's absolutely no better feeling! Today's show was a real fun one. We had some great stories from you guys about when swimwear & togs have let you down, we caught up with Kiwi dancer Lance Savali who has danced with the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna and JLo (he spilt a lot of secrets about what it was like to work with those celebrities!) and we also did a wee social experiment to see whose parents would text them back first, and therefore whose parent loves them more... Enjoy the poddy and have a great weekend!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Special Edition - Sarah Jessica Parker **Unedited**
Hello and welcome to the Sarah Jessica Parker special! We were lucky enough to have a wine and a Zoom with Sarah Jessica Parker herself, because she's recently launched two wines with Kiwi company Invivo Wines - a Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc. We chatted about Sex & The City, Jacinda Ardern, her marriage to Matthew Broderick and much more (even Ben's Toy Story backpack...) Enjoy, it's a goodie!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 19 - Hilary Barry, Your Embarassing Parent Stories, Big News Small Town
Kia Ora! It was the NZ TV awards last night, and although Dr Ashley Bloomfield was nominated for personality of the year, he then pulled out and instead Hilary Barry from TVNZ's Seven Sharp won, still just as deserving though! We caught up with Hilz Baz about her night and her win, and her apparent love of the bar. We also discussed how Matthew McConaughey's mum openly talked about the fact that her husband (Matthew's dad) passed away while making love to her, but she discussed this in an interview while Matthew sat next to her looking as embarrassed as ever. So we asked you guys, what is the one embarrassing story your parents always bring up around you, that makes you want to sink into a hole...?! Finally, Ben told a hilarious yarn about what his friend accidentally did with his mother-in-law, so hilarious, and we discovered Ben may have a skeleton in the closet about his own mother-in-law too! Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 18 - Big News Small Town, Tim Lightbourne, What's The Most Important Thing You've Lost?
Hello hello! Yesterday Ben accidentally took his wife's keys to work meaning she had to Uber to work yesterday and also couldn't lock the house... And now Ben has lost his wife's keys and can't remember where he put them, making the situation worse! So we asked you guys what the most important thing you've lost is and we had some goodies call through! We also caught up with Tim Lightbourne from Invivo who worked with Sarah Jessica Parker on her Kiwi wines. Tim wasn't the only great person who joined us, we also chatted to Caz (our favourite lady from Southland) when we called Invercargill for the A to Z of New Zealand. What a character she is!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 17 - Doggy Dan, Guess The Guest, The A To Z Of New Zealand
Producer Humphrey revealed who our big celebrity guest is this Thursday! And some of you guessed it on our social media... We also played another round of Man Vs. Child where Jono took on a 9 year old in a quiz. We caught up with Jack Tame about his experience doing hotel quarantine, and how he even went in the White House! And Doggy Dan joined us again to ask your dog related questions, he's veeeery in tune with dogs and is an absolute expert. Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 16 - Tales From The Operating Theatre, Man Vs Child, Jono Got Stuck In The Loo...
Hello all! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Our producer Humphrey has locked in a guest for us to interview on Thursday and he is very happy with himself, says they are HUGE and have a monstrous career. But we don't know who it is yet, and neither do you. So, we played "Guess The Guest" and found out a little bit more about who they are with Producer Humphrey giving us yes & no answers. Jono also told us about how he had a public bathroom nightmare and it's not something you'd want to have happen to you! Finally, NCEA exams begin today for high school students so we played Man Vs. Child, where Jono takes on a kid with some questions, and today's kid smashed Jono!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 13 - Chris Hipkins, Alternative Use To Products You Own, The Coke Cola Good Bugger
Happy Friday! Ben discovered something on the internet - a person cooking their steak in a toaster.... So we asked you guys what products you use in an alternative way, like straightening hair with an iron and cooking things on hair straighteners! We caught up with Chris Hipkins, COVID-19 response minister, about the latest case in Auckland, and Jono asked him whether he likes the name "Hippo" (because of his last name!), have a listen to hear what he has to say about that.... All that and a bunch more yarns on today's pod!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 12 - Julia Hartley Moore, Unusual Ways You Met Your Partner, Our Trip To Northland...
Today on the show Jono got into an internet hole of the "7 signs he's cheating" and so we then chatted to private investigator Julia Hartley Moore to see if those signs are actually legit, and my word it was juuuuuicy! Julia and her team are literally hired to see if their clients partners are cheating. Juicy stuff. While we were on the road to Kerikeri yesterday we met someone who met their partner after he tried to BREAK INTO HER CAR! And they're still together! So we wanted to see if anyone had met their partner in a more unusual way than that. Ben also had an incident up in our Kerikeri office involving hand sanitiser (jeez how many hand sanitiser incidents can he have!?). Enjoyyyyy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 11 - Guy Williams, Jono's Impulse Purchase, What's The Show Joke?
So we've spent the most part of our lives being on TV and radio, but when people ask us to tell us a joke we can never think of one. Jono always reverts back to one that's EXTREMELY dated and not very family friendly...! So we went on the hunt for the best joke and my lord there were some goodies. We even got Guy Williams on to judge the best ones! Jono also bought something for his house that he thought would be very useful and that his wife would appreciate. Alas, she doesn't like it! Have a listen to find out what it is and if you'd like it in your house. And Ben told us a story about how on his wedding day, his wife did something that made him think she didn't want to marry him. Which STRESSED. HIM. OUT. Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 10 - The Topp Twins, We Went On A Trip To Tokoroa, Is Your Pet Loved More Than You?
On today's show we had the iconic yodelling Topp Twins in - Lynda and Jools, and they even tried to teach us how to yodel! Jono also whipped out a lie detector and put Ben to the test. Does he love his dog more than his children? Does he clog up public toilets? Find out in the podcast! And Ben's wife Amanda discussed why she would never split up with Ben. And the reason is.... interesting haha! Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hello hello and welcome to another Monday! Today we spoke to someone who met Trump prior to his presidency and he gave us all the goss about what he was like in person. Ben's daughter also got muddled up with some body parts, calling one part of her body something that only men have, not realising what she had said! Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 06 - Paul Henry, Jono's Worst Of The Week, What Did You Find In Your Backyard?

He was in the country in 2016 and she was lucky enough to hang out with him & his family, and she dished all the goss! We also wanted to know the bizarre things that turned up in your backyard and my lord we got some weird stories. Paul Henry joined us to talk about his new wine (and how he felt when Ben's wife Amanda took a bottle to a BYO!) and his new book that's out. And do you remember Keith and Sally from a while ago? They're an adorable couple from Kerikeri, and Keith spends a lot of his time picking up rubbish around town, by choice! (Bless.) We talked to them a few months ago and now Keith has been nominated for our "Good Bugger" award. We always love talking to them! Enjoy the podcast & have a great weekend!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 05 - Disappointing Dates, Shower Curtains, An American Election Overview
The US election is a TIGHT RACE! We caught up again with Jack Tame to get the latest on the vibe, especially because as we all went to sleep last night it seemed that Trump was going to win, but as we were waking up, Biden was more in the lead! WOWEE! Ben also shared a story about how he had a very lame date night with his wife Amanda, but it was self-inflicted *good one Ben...* and we had some hilarious calls about dates gone wrong. Finally, Jono was after a bit of praise because he reckons he's an absolute hero. A godsend. The greatest thing to grace this earth. And we gave it to him (sort of) because of his "heroic" story! Enjoy the poddy, it's a goodie!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 03 - Doggy Dan, Jono Pranked Ben Hard, How Did You Woo Your Partner?
Today was an absolute ripper. Jono pulled possibly the greatest prank on Ben today with the help of the whole team behind the scenes. Days of planning, money spent and secret meetings were what it took to pull it off. And we did, we HOOK LINE AND SINKERED Benjamin Ross Boyce! It's first up on the podcast so you won't miss it. We also had Doggy Dan from Dog Almighty on the show to answer questions you may have about trying to train your dogs or fix any issues going on - he literally knows everything about dogs! Finally, it came out that the way Prince William "wooed" Kate Middleton was by cooking her spaghetti bolognese... The most basic dish in the history of basic dishes. So we threw it out there and heard some of your stories about the weird ways you wooed your partner!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

November 02 - Producer Juju Ran The Auckland Marathon, The News In Beeps, Your Unusual Gifts...
Monday, we meet again. On today's podcast we called a Kiwi cafe in Idaho that sells meat pies (because they traditionally aren't a thing in America) called Kiwi Shake and Bake, to chat about their pies (bet ya they wont be as good as the pies in NZ 😉) and the vibe ahead of the US election! Jono also shared a story about how he had to coach his son's basketball team and how much of a shambles he is as a coach, as you can probably imagine! Finally, as people who have to go to bed early for work, we wanted to see if anyone goes to bed any earlier and WHY!? ENJOYYYYY!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 30 - Chris Parker, Jono's Worst Of The Week, Celebrities You Almost Met

So head to our Insta & Facebook pages and let us know what is currently sitting in your shopping cart that you just can't bring yourself to buy, and we may get it for you! We also talked to people about the celebrities they almost met. Harry Styles was recently invited inside a man's house for a cuppa tea after his car broke down outside the house, but turns out the superfan daughter who also lived there wasn't home at the time. Devastating for her, but we had some people phone up with stories about how they almost met a celeb too! Finally, we were joined by comedian Chris Parker who you may know from TV shows like Funny Girls, he featured on our old TV show a bit too, and he's hilarious on social media. Enjoy Friday, enjoy Halloween and enjoy the weekend!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Kia Ora! On today's show, we sent Millennial Max out to a petrol station and Kmart to pay for people's fuel & buy gifts on our new company credit card! Even though we still don't know how much is on there! Ben's daughter is also very keen on setting up some hidden cameras in the house to catch a culprit, and this culprit may surprise you. Finally, we wanted to know about the low level car crimes that SHOULD be illegal - people who don't merge like a zip, people who don't thank you when you give way to them, you name it, we covered it!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 27 - We've Acquired A Company Credit Card, Cori Gonzales, Your Shortest Engagements
How gooooood is going to work on a Tuesday when it feels like a Monday!? Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. Something wonderful happened to us this morning. A few weeks ago Jono put a request in for a company credit card as a bit of a joke, not expecting anything from it. But one arrived for us today! So we sent Millennial Max off to see if there was any money on it. Ben also got recognised at the supermarket over the weekend but not as he would have liked. Finally, we wanted to know if anyone could beat Zac Efron - he is now engaged to his Australian girlfriend after only 3 months, but has anyone got engaged any quicker? ENJOY!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 23 - Drax Project, Big News Small Town, What Did You Do When You Were Tired?
How GOOD is the feeling going into a long weekend?! Today we caught up with the boys from Drax Project who have a new song out, and Jono showed off a skill we never knew he had! Jono also had a bone to pick with Ben about something he's been doing for a while - he's been USING Jono without him realising! Ellen Degeneres (or Evil Ellen as Jono and producer Juliet like to call her!) has a new haircut, and it looks exactly like her wife Portia's, and we got some calls on what you have matching with your partner. Finally, we played a remix version of the NZ National Anthem before hearing about your weekend plans, and oh, what an array of callers we had! Enjoy this podcast episode and enjoy the long weekend.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 22 - Matthew Lewis, Reception Reception, What Did You Do When You Were Tired?
Happy "Little Friday" as we like to call Thursday! Today we had a big guest on the show, the actor who played Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films! Matthew Lewis is his real name and he's starring alongside Kiwi actress Rose Matafeo in a hilarious new film called Baby Done. Ben mentioned that last night he was so tired after work he accidentally put cat food into the washing machine instead of washing powder, and we had some great people call up telling us what delirious thing they did when they were super tired. As well as this, Reception Reception was back again, this time, Ben had some dodgy internet history he needed to get cleared...See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We also had an old friend of ours, Guy Williams, come on and talk about his new TV show Taskmaster NZ and all the shenanigans he got up to. As well as this, we played a good old game of word tennis but two callers had to list off all the things they had in their handbag, and my GOODNESS these ladies hold a lot in their bags!! Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 20 - Urzila Carlson, Jono Missed His Anniversary, Big News Small Town

As well as this, Ben committed a washing crime at home that his wife wasn't very happy about! Finally, with our new TV show Dog Almighty on TVNZ 2 starting last night (and continuing tonight) we gave away $500 to someone who watched the first episode and got the codeword. We're doing this for a wee while, so if you want to win $500, watch Dog Almighty Monday & Tuesday nights at 7.30pm on TVNZ 2, look out for the code word, then tune into The Hits live the next morning and at 8am we will give someone the money if the codeword is correct! VERY easy way to win some cash! Enjoy the poddy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 19 - Benee, Indie Has Adopted Ben's Habits, The A To Z Of New Zealand
Kia Ora! Today was the Jono and Benee show... Yes. Kiwi singer Benee joined us for a chat and even signed an absentee form for Ben's daughters as to why they couldn't be at school today... as they were too busy being in the studio to meet her! Our new show on TVNZ 2 launches tonight as well - Dog Almighty. So we had Doggy Dan in to answer any questions you may have, he's a dog expert! Also with our new show, you could win $500 each time you watch an episode, we explained this on the podcast too. It was also a big weekend for a lot of people. The election (we ran through some of the highlights and funny moments), the rugby (Jono got booed out of Eden Park) and the Benee concert was on, which Ben went to as well! Enjoy the pod!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 16 - PM Jacinda Ardern, Jono's Son Oscar Is Off To High School, We Tried To Make Ben Cry
'Twas a big show today! We were joined by PM Jacinda Ardern, and a couple of cameos made an appearance in the interview - her partner Clarke Gayford and Ben's daughter Sienna (who asked her some hard-hitting questions!) Jacinda wasn't the only MP to join us though, Judith Collins from the National party and James Shaw and Marama Davidson from the Greens also joined us on the show. A VERY POLITICAL SHOW! But with two hosts that can't ask any serious political questions! But in amongst the political banter we gave away some All Blacks tickets (a child had to decide whether they won chocolate and an LOL doll, or All Blacks tickets for their parents, it was tense) and Jono had a situation with a note he left in his son's lunchbox today.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 15 - Reception Reception, The A To Z Of New Zealand, John Campbell & Hilary Barry
Kia Ora! On today's podcast we had Reception Reception, this time Ben was supposedly "applying to be on The Bachelor". On another note, Ben admitted to us that he cried in the middle of Whitcoulls... The reason why is adorable. We also wanted to know the worst things about being an adult, and finally, John Campbell, Hilary Barry and Winston Peters were on the show!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 14 - Guy Sebastian, Big News Small Town, Do You Make The Bed?
Today we were joined by Guy Sebastian, we've never interviewed him before and he was the nicest guy who has a new single out now and album on Friday! Jono also went out for dinner last night, got some exceptional service from the staff who were offering him all sorts of lovely dishes, but something happened that he didn't expect. We also revisited a topic we tried to talk about yesterday until our phone system stopped working (lol!) about when you did the right job, but at the wrong place. All that & more on today's podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 13 - Helen Clark, Your Luggage Mishaps, The Weed Referendum
Happy Tuesday! Today we were joined by former PM Helen Clark and she RATED politicians, past and present and she was ruthless! Ben also experienced boomers playing board games, and it's almost funnier than boomers on technology. We chatted about the cannabis referendum and played some audio from when we caught up with Chloe Swarbrick (yes advocate from The Greens) and Aaron Ironside (no advocate from Say Nope To Dope). Finally, when Ben was visiting TVNZ he found some doors that made him happier than Jono makes him by being his co-host. Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 12 - David Seymour, Ben's Dog Emergency, We Gave Away $10,000!!
Hello hello! This morning we were back in the studio after spending the weekend in Taupo for our $10K Tee Off! We didn't get any balls in, so does that make our time in Taupo completely pointless? Who knows. Buuuut we gave away that $10K on the show today! And we dished a bit about what went on that you wouldn't have seen or heard, like how Jono nearly got kidnapped in Auckland... We were also joined by David Seymour and Joseph Parker on the show too!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 09 - We Attempt The Hole In One Challenge In Lake Taupo!
Over the last fortnight, Jono and Ben have been giving away 1000 balls to 1000 listeners. In this edition of the Jono and Ben podcast, the boys attempted the Lake Taupo Hole In One, if they strike a Hole In One on any of the assigned balls, the listener with that number ball wins!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 08 - Reception Reception, Six60, Your Weird Kid Questions
On today's show, we were joined by Matiu & Chris from Six60 as they announce their epic summer tour. For all those deets head to thehits.co.nz! Jono also had to have the birds and bees chat with his 7-year-old daughter Poppy after she saw something on TV... and we got some epic calls on the most awkward questions your children have asked you. Reception Reception also made a comeback! If it's the first time you've heard of it, Jono phones a random receptionist in NZ and leaves an embarrassing message for Ben, that he then has to retrieve. This time, Ben was a "local MP" and Jono was a journalist who had to do some fact-checking about the dodgy things Ben had done.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

October 07 - Stan Walker, Kids Wanting Your Stuff When You Die, Your Present Crimes
On today's podcast we sent Millennial Max through a McDonalds drive-thru in our golf buggy, and Jono made him order 39 smoothies! Have a listen to see how that one played out... Jono also discussed how great it is folding sheets until one particular moment that happens. We discussed present crimes (Ben left the price tag on a present, that's #illegal) and finally, Stan Walker joined us on the show! Enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
