Ep 124IE124 Lisa Winston: Lisa Winston: Mastering Intuition: 'The Power' to Navigate Life's Toughest Moments
EIn this episode, I had a chat with Lisa Winston about how she overcame insurmountable odds to learn how to go deeper and surrender to what is, and build a relationship with her intuition. Lisa is a gifted vocalist, intuitive mindset strategist, #1 international bestselling author of “Your Turning Point,” TV host and inspirational speaker. A life of extreme challenges, including losing her home to wildfire and breast cancer, made her hungry for a deeper connection to Source and determined to find her true calling. Book available HERE.Lisa has produced many influential global summits and is also featured on online summits, national radio, podcasts and trainings. Late 2019, she was featured on her first magazine cover for The Global Voice. She co-hosts and produces The Mindset Reset TV Show, a weekly series which reaches millions worldwide. Lisa is so grateful to be mom to her beautiful daughter, Sarah, and to live, teach, and speak across the globe with her soulmate and life partner, Dr. Joe Vitale. She enjoys sharing the message that life is always happening for you and challenges are sent to refine, not define you. Stay tuned to learn how your intuition can help you get through the dark times we’re living in now and go on to achieve your biggest desires in life. Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll hear:How losing her house to a wild fire in just 10 minutes and being diagnosed with breast cancer two months later taught her how to die to self, only for life to hit her again with the loss of her parents. A ton of other challenging things have happened in her life, but the last straw was when she collapsed and was diagnosed with neuro lyme disease that she had had for 50 years, but was only getting hit by it because her immune system had gone down. Talk about life pushing you to the breaking point. Go to 02:22 to learn how she came out of that dark time to get to a deeper place of surrender. The power of awareness and GIVING IN to the things that suck the joy out of our lives instead of just GIVING UP. That’s what surrender is all about. Because with surrender, we still have the power to choose where we go from whatever difficult situation we’re in, so we can come out of it stronger. Find out more at 05:45.The difficult transformation we’re going through right now and why we shouldn’t allow ourselves to go into victim mode. While it’s critical to stay productive during this time, you don't have to be perfect at it. You can sit back and just be, and allow yourself to feel whatever emotions are flowing in you. Lisa sees the current pandemic as a painful transformation that we have to embrace as something that’s happening for us rather than against us. Hear more on that at 10:11Lisa’s point of view on attachment is super mind blowing. We as human beings get so attached to the people in our lives and everything that we have, and it’s near impossible to let go of that attachment, but the best way to let go of those attachments is to view the people and the things as gifts that we’ve been given for a limited time. None of us are going to leave this life with any of the people and things we have, so what’s the point of holding on? Right? Hear more at 20:23Saying yes and walking intuitively through listening to your inner guidance. Why is that necessary you ask? Because your inner guidance will never steer you wrong. A lot of us don’t listen to our inner guidance (intuition) and that makes us miss out on a lot of gifts that could come our way. Start by saying yes to your possibilities and opportunities, and you’ll witness tons of synchronicities working towards getting where you need to be. Learn how you can build a relationship with your inner guidance at 35:29.Hear more of Lisa’s life changing insights on intuition HERE Join the Inspired Evolution Community:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/inspiredevolution. The internet for example is a very intuitive model where we draw resources simultaneously from all parts of the world. In an interview of 100 of the top CEOs in the world, the CEOs were asked what they attributed their success to and they all said their intuition, but they all admitted that they wouldn’t want that to be public knowledge. All that is changing now because intuition is an essential tool in today’s world. “Intuition is an essential tool in today’s world” - Sonia ChoquetteIntuition Versus InstinctThere are three levels of intuition, namely, red light intuition, green light intuition, and yellow light intuition. Red light intuition is instinct, the part of us that is oriented towards survival. That is where we get bad vibes and feelings in our gut. Instinct is how a lot of people experience intuition for the first time. Green light intuition is the opportunity intuition where someone feels something is a good idea and they go for it even when everyone advises against taking the risk. The yellow light or pause intuition is what causes us to wait before making a move on something. The red light is in our belly, the green light in our heart, and the yellow light is just a general inability to lock into any strong feeling. The way that someone can tap into their intuition is by feeling physically.“Intuition is not language, it’s energy” - Sonia ChoquetteEnding the Elusiveness of IntuitionUntil the age of reason, intuition was very prevalent, but science and technology kicked in and brought about patriarchy where external father figures told people how to live their lives. Personal self direction was discouraged and attacke, but over time that system has been imploding and people have been slowly realizing that blindly following others is no guarantee that life will be good and as expected. With the current Coronavirus pandemic, the whole system has now collapsed, and the only way forward is for people to go back to “self”. The intuitive system that will come up will be all about collaboration and co-creation. Intuition will likely become a part of our new value system and will even be introduced in schools.“Intuition will become a main part of our new value system” - Sonia ChoquetteSpirit as Intuition’s GuideSpirit is not about religion. It’s the life force that we are, the divine part of us, and the holy essence that gives each human being an existence. That spirit energy that we all share is holy and it’s our guiding light. Everywhere in the world, everybody understands what spirit is because it’s our essence.“Religion is an outer form of thinking imposed upon us” - Sonia ChoquetteIntuition and AuthenticityThere’s a parallel between the two that most people cannot draw. Authenticity, which comes from the word author, is all about the individual writing the script of their life and creating their story, while intuition on the other hand means “inner teacher” which means that our inner self is our resource of learning a

Ep 122IE122 Neale Donald Walsch: Conversations with God: 'The Essential Path' of Evolutionary Awakening (Transforming Crisis)
Our guest this week is Neale Donald Walsch, an actor, screenwriter, speaker, and the author of the series “Conversations with God”. Book available HERE.About NealeNeale is a modern day spiritual messenger whose words continue to touch the world in profound ways. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his life thriving professionally, yet searching for spiritual meaning before experiencing his now famous conversation with God. The Conversations with God series of books that emerged from those encounters has been translated into 37 languages, touching millions and inspiring important changes in their day-to-day lives.Neale has written 29 books on spirituality and its practical application in everyday life. Titles in the With God series include: Conversations with God, Books 1-3; Friendship with God; Communion with God; The New Revelations; Tomorrow’s God; What God Wants; and Home with God. Seven of the books in that series reached the New York Times Bestseller List, CWG-Book 1 occupying that list for over two-and-a-half years. In order to deal with the enormous response to his writings, Neale has created several outreach projects, including the CWG Foundation, CWG for Parents, Humanity’s Team, the CWG Helping Outreach, and The Global Conversation, all accessible at the “hub” website www.CWGPortal.com, and all dedicated to help the world move from violence to peace, from confusion to clarity, and from anger to love.Neale's work has taken him from the steps of Macchu Picchu in Peru to the steps of the Shinto shrines of Japan, from Red Square in Moscow to St. Peter's Square in Vatican City to Tiananmen Square in China. And everywhere he has gone, from South Africa to Norway, Croatia to The Netherlands, the streets of Zurich to the streets of Seoul, Neale has experienced a hunger among the people to find a new way to live, at last, in peace and harmony, and he has sought to bring people a new understanding of life and of God which would allow them to experience that.Join the Inspired Evolution Community:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/In this Episode We Canvas:The Biggest Problem That we Face Today People see outcomes but they don’t know what the cause of the outcomes is, and that in itself is the biggest problem in the world today. We all, for example, know that our civilization won’t start moving in the direction that we would like it to move in, but we don’t know why. The fallout from that though is alienation, and it’s visible all over the world in such enormous magnitudes even during the current Coronavirus pandemic when we are all supposed to be united. Neale feels that at some higher level, the force of alienation and unity are meeting face to face at the same time for a reason that has to do with the evolution of our species. “The biggest problem in the world today is that most people don’t know what the biggest problem in the world today is” - Neale Donald WalschAlienation’s Role in Ensuring ConnectionAlienation is absolutely necessary for connection to take place because we as human beings cannot develop the desire for connection unless we experience the lack of it through a certain level of widespread alienation and all the negative impact that comes with it.“In the absence of what we are not, what we are cannot be experienced” - Neale Donald WalschOur Decision in Our Evolution Through self awareness, we become decision makers and have a key role to play in the process by which we evolve because we are aware of what is going on with us, in us, as us, and through us, in every moment of our lives, and we can make decisions that affect that experience. In order to make those decisions, we must choose between a number of choices that are based on four fundamental questions, namely, Who am I?, Where am I?, Why am I where I am?, and What do I intend to do about my answer to the third question? A lot of people don’t know who they are or why they’re here because they don’t even attempt to ask the four questions. “Evolution is not a process that happens to us, it’s a process that happens through us” - Neale Donald WalschShift HappensThe current shift that’s taking place, especially due to the pandemic we’re experiencing, has pushed people towards asking the four fundamental questions because they are seeing things as they know them changing in ways they could have never thought possible. Human beings as a species are now gathering the truth and growing. “We’re taking larger swallows from the serum of ultimate reality” - Neale Donald WalschSpeaking as the Mouthpiece of GodAnyone can speak as the mouthpiece of God because nobody is separate from the divine. Neale highlights that God puts words into his mouth just as much as he does into the mout

When we have a set of values in our lives that are unique to us, and we live in alignment congruently with what we value most, and we’re spontaneously inspired from within to act, and we’re disciplined, reliable, and focused, and we tend to walk our talk and expand our space and time horizons, and build momentum, and awaken our executive center, and awaken an inspired vision and strategically plan that vision and execute that vision with self-governance, we reach a state of objectivity that allows us to be soulful, full of unconditional love, with neutrality, and non-polarization. When we live by our lower values, the things we seek and avoid occupy space and time in our minds and add time and space which ages us entropically, but when we live by our highest values we extract out space and time from our minds and become present, and we achieve a timeless agelessness. “A state of objectivity allows us to be soulful and full of unconditional love” - Dr. John DemartiniFocusing on Personal Development Whenever one lives by their highest values, they embrace challenges in the pursuit of a mission, and they fill their day with challenges that inspire them to have fulfillment, because when we live by our highest values we have fulfillment, and when we don’t we have emptiness. Solving human problems is the greatest problem we can solve on the earth, and so anything we can do to solve human challenges, problems, and voids, and help them fill those voids, solve those mysteries, solve those problems, and answer those questions is the highest pursuit the human being can do that gives the most fulfillment in life. At the level of the essence of our soul, we have nothing missing in our lives, but at the level of the existence of our senses, things appear to be missing and that’s where our problems originate. So any time we can solve that, that’s to our greatest advantage, and the most fulfillment. “If you ask concise questions your life goes in a concise direction” - Dr. John DemartiniA Balanced MindImmanuel Kant said that there is an imminent and transcendent self. One that dealt with phenomena of the senses and one that dealt with nomina, or what Plato would call the ideal forms of assault. Scientists have now put that into neurological terms as the amygdala and hind brain areas, and the forebrain/executive center Scientists now put them in neurological terms as the amygdala (hindbrain areas) and the forebrain (Executive center). Whenever we’re in our imminent mind (Amygdala), we seek support over challenge, we seek prey over predator, and we end up manifesting false positives as a survival mechanism. The amygdala accentuates subjective biases with false positives to accentuate a positive and a negative, and we polarise our emotions and chemistries. That causes an addiction to pleasure and pride, and the avoidance of pain and shame externally and internally, and one becomes vulnera

Ep 120IE120 Charles Eisenstein: Sacred Economics: Transforming Crisis into Opportunity
Our guest this week is Charles Eisenstein, a teacher, public speaker, gift economy advocate, and writer who focuses on themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution.About CharlesHe is the author of several books including The Ascent of Humanity (2007), Sacred Economics (2011), The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible (2013) and Climate - A New Story (2018). Sacred Economics traces the history of money from ancient gift economies to modern capitalism, revealing how the money system has contributed to alienation, competition, and scarcity, destroyed community, and necessitated endless growth. Today, these trends have reached their extreme, but in the wake of their collapse, we may find great opportunities to transition to a more connected, ecological, and sustainable way of being. His on-line writings have generated a vast following; he speaks frequently at conferences and other events, and gives numerous interviews on radio and podcasts. He also occasionally writes for the "Comment is Free" section of The Guardian and The Huffington Post on topics including genetic modification and the patenting of seeds and debt. He is a contributing editor at the website Reality Sandwich. In advance of appearing on Oprah's Super Soul Sunday on July 16, 2017, Eisenstein wrote "The Age of We Need Each Other." An example is the fact that how the world works kind of revolves around money. We often operate based on what we have to do and what we can afford to do. A person’s survival is highly dependent on money. He wanted to understand money better so he could understand society, the human being, and himself. He feels the divide between money and spirituality is part of the problem and that the two need to be unified with money being the crux of the unification. His experience has been that money always seems to pull him back into a person that he no longer wants to be and it brings out his worst impulses, and he wants to look at that and be who he can be, so he looks into what role money can play in a person’s evolution.“If there’s anything harder to bring into the sacred realm, it would be money” - Charles EisensteinThe Gift EconomyIt comes from a basic impulse that one is offering something as a gift to someone, and if it’s precious to that someone, then any amount of money that that someone charges is going to be too little, because the gift is infinitely valuable, and so putting a price on it would devalue it. Any amount the person receiving the gift charges would also be too much because that would put it behind a paywall. When the price of something is too little and too much, one can’t set the price. He applies the same with his online courses where he lets the users determine the price of the courses. That takes the pressure off him to provide value and it allows generosity to come in, and for him to be funded without having to compel people to give the funding to him.“We have to explore and share with each other how we’re doing it and be generous with our judgments of those who are trying these experiments” - Charles EisensteinHow Money is Created in Our SystemThis refers to how money is created through the lending of financial institutions to individuals and corporations. Banks lend to people who will pay back and they focus on lending to people who will make more money when they get a loan so they can pay it back with interest. For example, if someone wants to protect an ecosystem, the bank will determine that there will be no money to be made there, but if a person intends to pave over an ecosystem and build a strip mall, the bank will determine that they can pay back the loan they get. That demonstrates that the system is geared towards endless growth of the monetized realm simply because of the way money is created, which puts people into competition because at any given moment, there’s always more debt than there is money. Money is created through lending and there is always interest in it. When a million dollars is created, one point five million dollars of debt is created. And so people are always in competition with each other because there’s never enough.“The system is geared towards endless growth of the monetized realm simply because of the way money is created” - Charles EisensteinThe Scarcity and Competition That Enslaves PeoplePeople never get the opportunity to tune into alignment because they live in so much competition and a scarcity c

Ep 119IE119 Nassim Haramein: Quantum Science of Personal & Global Healing
Our guest this week is Nassim Haramein, a world leader in unified physics and the founder of the Resonance Science Foundation. Book available HERE.About NassimNassim Haramein is also the CEO of Torus Tech LLC and CEO of ARK LLC. He is developing advanced resonance technologies for energy production and gravitational control. These applications are based on over 30 years of research in physics, mathematics, geometry, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, as well as cultural anthropology and archeology. These studies led to his groundbreaking theories, published papers and patented inventions in unified science. As a result, Haramein founded the Resonance Science Foundation in 2004, a non-profit organization dedicated to theoretical research and education, Torus Tech LLC in 2015, a private applied research laboratory, and ARK LLC in 2016 to commercialize the first applications.Join the Inspired Evolution Community:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/In this Episode We Canvas:Consciousness Versus UniverseThere’s lots of philosophy and physics that’s been written based on the idea that consciousness is fundamental. The idea of consciousness was unacceptable in physics but within the last 15 years it has become acceptable with retired physicists working on it and writing about it. Nassim equates the lack of defining consciousness to replacing a problem with an unknown. He can't refer to consciousness as the universe because it's actually more like information that is learning about itself, and that's how the question of AI comes up. He believes that we will tap into the fundamental field of AI and create a synthetic intelligence when we solve the puzzle of quantum computing based on the right physics. “It’s all information and it’s information that’s learning about itself” - Nassim HarameinWhy We Have Individual PerspectivesThe idea that we all come from a unified information brings up the question of why we have individuality within us. Nassim answers that by highlighting that the universe is fundamentally fractal and it’s a more complex fractal than we would expect, because the information reiteration is occurring in every point in such a way that each point’s perspective is part of the equation continuously changing. That means that if two people put an object between themselves, and each person sees their side of the object and the object is spinning, one person would see it spinning clockwise while the other would see it spinning counter-clockwise. The two people will therefore be getting two sets of information about the same thing. That demonstrates how and why nobody experiences the universe from the same perspective“It’s like if you wrote the fundamental equation for a fractile, but that fundamental equation continuously changed as well” - Nassim HarameinThe Role of Subjectivity with TruthNassim explains that we all have a subjective experience and that when we try to find our individual truth we can only get it to a certain extent because we are part of one whole which must come together for us to know the ultimate truth. That means that we must look within ourselves to know the ultimate truth. The field of information that connects to us has a link to all the other fields in the universe through our atoms, subatomic particles, and how far we want to go. Every time we dig deeper, the information matrix density gets much larger. Many masters that have come to the earth have said that when we go inside we will find the universe, all answers, and God. “There’s a part of you that’s outside, but there’s a part of you that’s inside” - Nassim HarameinDeepening Our Connection to Going InwardsNassim feels that we must spend time being aware of the fact that it’s necessary to look within ourselves and practice it more. He was a ski coach for 25 years and he got there by doing a lot of skiing for many years which enabled him to be an expert at it. He set very high standards for himself internally and that made him push himself to be better every time despite the fact that on the outside everybody else saw his skiing techniques as perfect. That’s the same way we must apply looking into ourselves.“We’re an expression of the universe learning about ourselves” - Nassim HarameinThe Science of Global HealingThere is the concept of space memory which suggests that we leave pieces of memory in space and that they have certain moral consequences. Recent discoveries have shown that particles are not only entangled in space but they’re entangled in time. The term spacetime was coined by Einstein as a result of his equations and the fact that he saw that space and time were intricate to each other. That means that time is not what we think of it as because the concept we have of time is based on the concept of evolution. It’s information on the structure o

Ep 118IE118 Steven Kotler: Mastering the Future of Peak Performance with Biotech Innovations (Flow Research Collective)
Our guest this week is Steven Kotler, a New York Times best-selling author and an award-winning journalist. His latest book "The Future Is Faster Than You Think" is available HERE.Flow Research Collective are offering an online leadership course called Zero To Dangerous."Zero to Dangerous is a neuroscience-based peak performance training for entrepreneurs and leaders struggling with distraction, self sabotage and uncertainty."Learn more about this opportunity HERE and mention Inspired Evolution when enquiring for a free coaching session valued at USD$1,000.How To Turn Extraordinary Performance Into An Effortless Habit - The Habit of Ferocity accessible with a Mindvalley All Access Pass https://inspiredevolution.com/recommends/mindvalley/About StevenAs the Executive Director of the Flow Research Collective, he is one of the world’s leading experts on high performance. His most recent work, The Future Is Faster Than You Think, is a blueprint for how our world will change in response to the next ten years of rapid technological disruption. He co-wrote the book with Peter Diamandis as the last book in their Exponential Mindset Trilogy which started off with the book Abundance, where they tackled grand global challenges, such as poverty, hunger, and energy, followed by Bold, where they chronicled the use of exponential technologies that allowed the emergence of powerful new entrepreneurs. Steven is also the co-founder of Creating Equilibrium, a conference/concert/innovation accelerator focused on solving critical environmental challenges, and, alongside his wife, author Joy Nicholson, Steven is the cofounder of Rancho de Chihuahua, a hospice care/special needs care dog sanctuary in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. He also co-founded the Flow Genome Project in order to answer questions such as the relationship between flow and creativity, flow and business success, as well as to explore altered states of consciousness and their effect on human performance. His book, Stealing Fire, was a national bestseller and nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. It documents an underground revolution in peak performance that is rapidly going mainstream, fueling a trillion-dollar economy and forcing us to rethink how we lead more satisfying, productive and meaningful lives. This work was preceded by two books about the technology, Tomorrowland, which is about those maverick innovators who transformed science-fiction ideas into science fact technology and Bold, which was called a “visionary roadmap for change,” by president Bill Clinton and spent many months atop both the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. His previous book, The Rise of Superman, was one of the most talked-about books in 2013 and the first book in history to land on the New York Times bestseller lists in the sports, science, psychology, and business categories simultaneously. In Rise, Steven decodes the science of flow, an optimal state of consciousness where we feel our best and perform our best.Just as Rise explores the upper limits of individual possibility, his book, Abundance, explores the upper limits of societal possibility, breaking down four emerging forces that give humanity the potential to significantly raise global standards of living over the next 20 to 30 years. Abundance spent 10 weeks atop the New York Times bestseller list and appeared on four prestigious “Best Book of the Year” lists.A Small, Furry Prayer, Steven’s book about the relationship between humans and animals, was a national bestseller and nominated for a Pulitzer Prize; West of Jesus, which examines the neurobiology of spiritual experience, was a Pen/West finalist; and his bestselling novel, The Angle Quickest For Flight, won the William L. Crawford IAFA Fantasy Award.Steven’s work has been translated into over 40 languages and appeared in over 100 publications, including The New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Wired and TIME. There have been fears that the Coronavirus might become worse and that economies might nosedive, but those are all maybes and the brain cannot deal with them because it’s designed to go on and off. Steven and his team were looking at peak performance at the time of pandemics and through posit

He feels there is a 'buzz' to shaping a unique solution with a team that is empowered to make a difference, and believes we are fortunate to live in a world of great change, smaller in reach, more diverse in needs, and richer in opportunity.Join the Inspired Evolution Community:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/In this Episode We Canvas:The Four States of LeadershipHe says there are four states of leadership (not stages because stages are sequential). In the first state, people like it when life happens “to” them because it enables them to live in drama and get a toxic energy that gives them the adrenaline to keep on going. In the second state, life happens “by” someone where they can create possibilities and start to get in a state of flow, awareness, and acceptance. The third one is where life happens “through” someone where they surrender as life shows up, but as a coach, he focuses more on helping people and organizations play a balance between the first state (and the adrenaline that comes from it) and the second state (and the possibilities one can create from it). He refers to that as either being below the line or being above the line.“Coronavirus is fantastic for the world because it’s giving people this adrenaline to create more stuff” - Michael ToddAbove the Line Versus Below the LineMichael says it’s a simple black line where conscious leaders are above the line and unconscious leaders are below the line. Leaders who are above the line are completely open, curious, and committed to learning while those who are below the line are closed, defensive, and committed to knowing what’s going on. The trick with conscious leadership is not in being either above or below the line, it’s in one being aware where they are at any point in time. It’s all about awareness. A leader’s ability to shift from below to above is determined by whether they can accept themself, surrender to what is, and be open, curious, and committed to learning.“The trick with conscious leadership, or just being conscious, is being aware of where you are at any point in time” - Michael ToddThe Real Meaning of ResponsibilityHe often doesn’t think he’s working when he’s at work because he sees it as supporting people as they come up with different things. When he is presented with an issue by a staff member, he looks at how he can help the person unpack the drama that exists within the issue by helping them express it and let it out, but not solve it. One must not take solving the issue as a form of responsibility, because that’s more of being a hero.“Responsibility can often be mistaken by resolving a situation” - Michael ToddBeing Above the LineMost businesses operate from below the line and they are highly successful even while being there, but those that operate from above the line have more flow, curiosity, innovation, cooperation, openness to experience and exchange, and love going on. While the state of being below the line is very successful, the state of being above the line creates more possibilities and a peaceful life where people are in their own truth. Below the line is where one thinks about always taking full responsibility for things, and reaches out to solve people’s problems (Being the hero). The flipside to that, which is above the line, is where one becomes the coach and support system to facilitate someone’s ability to solve their problem themselves.“The state of being above the line creates more possibilities” - Michael ToddOvercoming the StubbornnessWhen one finds themselves unable to shift into being above the line or having a balance between below and above the line, Michael advises that one can do a persona interview on themselves so they can start appreciating all the personas, recognizing where they come from, what they want, and their essence. Once one starts to accommodate all t

Ep 116IE116 Emanuele Mamo (3i Black Water & Acaxia): Blending Music, Health, and Innovation for a Harmonious Legacy
Our guest this week is Emanuele Mamo, the founder of 3i Black Water, and an incredible musician (Part of the band, “Acaxia”)About EmanueleIn an endeavor to better his health, he started consuming fulvic acid (which is found in the most healthy soils around the world) to remove heavy metals and toxins from his body, and it attracted the attention of his friends. One of his friends saw an opportunity in the black beverage and realizing that no other company was selling such a beverage, they started 3i Black Water. Their unique fulvic trace mineral blend promotes gut health, cell hydration, nutrition absorption rates, and assists with maintaining an alkaline diet. That makes 3i Black Water like no other functional beverage on the market. They use 100% rainwater that is distilled (evaporated) which strips all the nasty chemicals like fluoride and chlorine that are normally found in tap water, and then they combine that with their 100% natural fulvic trace mineral blend.Emanuele has taught for more than 15 years at VAS in all areas of vocal, performance training, songwriting, and music production. He is a multi-skilled performer with strong vocal and instrumental ability and has toured across Australia and America with various corporate acts, as well as worked on his own material showcasing RnB and Dance Music with well known Australian producers. He was the very first person in Australia to sit the Grade 8 Music Production exam through RSL Awards in London and has supported many well known local and international artists as well as being a headline act at clubs, festivals, and corporate events.Manny, as he is popularly referred to, is the lead singer of the band "Allegro", winner of the ABIA Award for Best Live Entertainment in Victoria, and part of the award-winning cabaret act "The Viva Italia Show" which has toured internationally. They source their fulvic acid from a 32.5 Million year old ocean bed that had been underground for all those years. There are tons of minerals trapped under that ocean bed and 3i Black Water takes the raw materials that they source from there, and run them through a reverse osmosis process which ensures that no chemicals touch their product in any way. Only water touches the product to extract the fulvic minerals. “No chemicals end up touching our product whatsoever” - Emanuele MamoGoing Down the Healthy PathHe needed to change his diet and was struggling with it, so a friend suggested that he find something that he could use to detox. That’s how he accidentally came across fulvic acid.“Getting rid of coffee and all of that stuff was really really hard for me” - Emanuele Mamo Partnering with a Fellow Band MemberMusic is his full-time job and his business partner in 3i Black Water, Christian, was a DJ for many years. They’ve known each other for 12 years and have made great music together, which is how they ended up in the same band. Christian had some previous experience working in a beverage company which made it very convenient to partner with him.“I do plan to try and merge the water and merge the music” - Emanuele MamoSynchronicities and Divine InterventionWith the way 3i came to be, he sees a lot of divine timing from the way him and his partners came together to start the company just when he had started using the fulvic acid in his diet. He highlights the importance of people acknowledging the divine intervention and synchronicities that bring things together for their own good. “The way it all came together... we couldn’t have scri

Ep 115IE115: Asher Tan & CoinJar: Revolutionizing Finance with Cryptocurrency Innovation
Our guest this week is Asher Tan, the co-founder and CEO of CoinJar.About AsherIn 2013, tired of being on the sidelines as an analyst (providing analysis to leading business magazines on company financial performance and the wider economy), he saw an opportunity to unite his passion for finance and technology, establishing what became CoinJar today, a range of fintech products including a wallet, trading platform, and CoinJar Swipe, a cryptocurrency debit card. CoinJar is a web and mobile apps company that focuses on empowering anyone to buy, sell, send, receive and accept bitcoin as money. They have processed more than $1 billion worth of exchange transactions for hundreds of thousands of users. Asher moved to London leaving behind his co-founder Ryan Zhou in charge of the day-to-day running of CoinJar, and its 400,000 customers to see and understand what’s been brewing in the crypto world on the western side. Since then he has been attending conferences, meeting fintech companies, bankers, venture capitalists, and the like, and asking lots of questions.Join the Inspired Evolution Community:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/In this Episode We Canvas:Bitcoin DemystifiedBitcoin has special qualities that make it a good type of money including the fact that it’s not controlled by any one government or organization. It’s decentralized and digital money and it caught Asher’s attention because of that. The fact that cryptocurrencies are unregulated has been a widespread concern among potential investors because they feel insecure about putting their money in it. “It’s a new way of thinking about money” - Asher Tan The Need that Digital Currencies ServeAsher feels it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact emotions that the people behind blockchain (the technology that cryptocurrencies are built on) because they are unknown, but he says that the initial motivation for creating the technology was an unhappiness with the financial system and the current ways that money works. The current monetary systems are said to be failing in meeting people’s expectations the way they should be in this day and age. “Before, there wasn’t really any alternative, and right now there is an alternative” - Asher Tan The Present Versus the PastAsher says that it's very difficult to draw parallels for what the future of cryptocurrencies is because things have never turned out the way they thought they would in the seven years that they’ve been in the space. Even traditionally tech-savvy investors and accrued up people have dissenting opinions of Bitcoin and digital currencies. “The future can be a bit of a wild and crazy place” - Asher TanHow Asher Got into Blockchain and BitcoinHe worked as an analyst before starting CoinJar. He always wanted to do something more beyond his analyst role, but his job was restricting him. He came across news about his co-founder (Ryan) who had just sold his company at a young age, and he decided to approach him to learn from him on how to start a company and make it successful. He entered a startup incubator with a friend and in the end they changed their startup idea into a Bitcoin-based one, and Asher got Ryan to join. “There are actionable steps to take towards starting a business” - Asher Tan CoinJar’s Success FactorThe company is more fintech than crypto in that they try and find benefits to users. That said, they do believe that cryptocurrencies are the best way to deliver benefits to their users. They are more focused on making financial life better for people as opposed to making the whole cryptocurrency thing work. They base their ability to achieve that on the fact that they fulfill the basics of financial wellbeing, which are; cheaper, better, more money, and faster. Their hope is that cryptocurrencies will help deliver financial services to everyone in the world especially those who don’t have access to the services, in an easier and better way. CoinJar is a digital currency account where one can buy and sell major cryptocurrencies.“We all imagine a financial future that’s freer, where more people can have access to financial services” - Asher TanThe “Locked” ConundrumSome people who were one of the first investors in Bitcoin when it came out are now unable to sell their millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin because they forgot their passwords or don’t even remember what their digital wallets were. Asher says that happens when someone doesn’t take the necessary steps to get educated on cryptocurrencies, and they decide to handle their cryptocurrency trading on their own. He suggests that people should start easy with a platform like CoinJar.“If you lose the cash then it’s gone” - Asher TanThe Future of CoinJarA lot of industries like retail shopping, publishing, and telecommunications have gone through huge change

Ep 114IE114 Dr. Joe Vitale: Manifesting Success: Mastering the Law of Attraction (+ Clearing Limiting Beliefs Once-And-For-All)
Our guest this week is Dr. Joe Vitale, a spiritual teacher, motivational speaker, coach, actor, musician, and the prolific writer of over 70 books.About JoeCheck out Dr. Vitale's program "The New Awakening" here:http://insprdevo.jvgullwing.hop.clickbank.net?cbitems=1Joe has been writing books since the 1980s and his main themes are on success and the power of attraction. He aims to change people’s belief systems through his writing and motivational talks.Once homeless Joe carved his way up to become a recognized and highly successful author. He became a best selling author when he wrote The Attractor Factor: 5 Easy Steps for Creating Wealth (or Anything Else) From the Inside Out in 2005. He believes that people can do anything they set their mind on, and that they should not be limited by anything. In addition to writing many books, he has also recorded 15 albums, and appeared in several movies including The Secret, the Opus, The Abundance Factor, Try it on Everything, the Meta Secret, and Leap! Joe believes in the power of having the right perspectives in life, right thinking, and creating positive beliefs. He has used these principles to change his life situation. He was homeless in the 70s but by developing the right mindset he managed to overcome that. He also believes in sharing the knowledge he has acquired over many years through his many audio programs and books, and in helping people overcome their limitations.Join the Inspired Evolution Community:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/In this Episode We Canvas:The Importance of PassionJoe discusses the importance of finding one's passion and following it. He believes that one doesn’t have to be sure whether following his or her passion will lead to success, and emphasizes on the importance of following one's instinct and looking above limitations. He describes how he was able to achieve that by following his calling for being an author. Before he achieved that, he had been homeless for ten years on the streets of Dallas. “I went in that direction when there was no evidence, none that i would be a success in that direction”- Joe Vitale (03:10)Questioning One’s BeliefsHe realized that he was homeless because he had the wrong beliefs. He began questioning those beliefs and that enabled him to realize some truths about himself. He doesn’t believe in the mantra that an old dog cannot learn new tricks, and he proved that by beginning to record music when he was 60 years old despite the fact that he did not come from a musical family. Joe believes that once people start questioning their not so positive beliefs objectively, they should do everything they can to erase them.“When you collapse your beliefs, you accelerate your results ” - Joe Vitale (05:20)Unawareness of the Belief SystemHe describes how people’s self consciousness determines their position in life and the decisions they take. People don’t know that they’re in a belief system because they live in it. It’s part of them. Joe states that he did not know that he was in poverty because of the beliefs in his head, and those beliefs made him think that he was okay even though he was living in poverty. He highlights that beliefs influence perception and the way people live.“ We don’t know that we are in a belief system because we look at it as our life, it looks like reality to us” - Joe Vitale (9:18) Finding the Inner Calling Most people know their calling deep down, but they rarely admit that they do. The easiest way for anyone to know their inner drive is to observe if they light up when they talk about it. A major factor that prevents people from following their calling is the unwillingness to take responsibility, and so it’s easier for them to remain in their comfort zones, and dismiss their passion by saying that they don’t know what it is. Fear also cripples people and hinders them from seeking whatever is necessary to realizing their passion.“All of the great successes came outside the comfort zone, not within the comfort zone” - Joe Vitale (20:25)The Power of Spirituality Joe believes in the idea of a higher power or the divine, and he discusses how people can enrich their lives through prayer. He talks about his principle prayer in saying, “I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.” and “I love you.” In that regard, one has to take personal responsibility individually. Spirituality is important in clearing beliefs by erasing negative thoughts and creating peace. One should apply the principles of prayer into a situation even when it does not concern them directly.“Whatever anyone says or does that’s in your awareness, you are responsible for”- Joe Vitale (28:20)Life as an Optical IllusionLife is an optical illusion generated by our beliefs. What people see is based on their belief shelters. People can find e

Ep 113IE113: Panache Desai's Path to Awakening: Transforming Through Spirituality
Panache Desai on You Are EnoughOur guest this week is Panache Desai, a transformational spiritual thought leader, teacher of life mastery and personal development, vibrational catalyst, international best-selling author, and inspirational speaker.About PanachePanache’s message of love and acceptance has drawn thousands of people from around the world to his seminars and workshops. Not aligned with any religious or spiritual tradition, he empowers people to free themselves of pain, suffering, sadness, and self-limiting beliefs. Through his most recent book, You Are Enough: Revealing the Soul to Discover Your Power, Potential, and Possibility, (which you can find at https://amzn.to/2TbK13I), Panache helps people learn to quiet their fear and anxiety and discover the powerful wholeness that exists within them. After a profoundly transformative experience more than a decade ago, he has committed his life to being a spiritual teacher empowering humanity in the deepest states of connection and awareness and helping people everywhere to directly experience divine consciousness for themselves.A highly sought-after speaker featured regularly in print, broadcast media, and online, Panache has appeared with Oprah Winfrey on the Emmy Award-winning OWN series, Super Soul Sunday, and was featured on their 2013 season finale, Soul 2 Soul: Asking Life’s Big Questions. He is a featured speaker at the OMEGA Institute for Holistic Studies and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health; has addressed the United Nations Enlightenment Society; and in Spring 2014, he was a featured speaker at The Third Metric Conferences, hosted by Arianna Huffington and Mika Brzezinski. For example, if one operates purely at the level of their self-image, then at that point they have to consume everything that comes from that because their identity and belonging depends on that. Spirituality helps us embrace the fact that we are enough because it enables us to understand that we are beyond the body, the mind, our emotions, and our ego. The essence within us and the authenticity and love that comes with it is always there for us to tap from, and living in authentic alignment is what empowers us to find the true source of belonging, which is our own heart.. “The blessing that we have in spirituality is that we understand that we’re beyond, we’re beyond our emotions, and we’re beyond this fabricated construct that we call an ego” - Panache DesaiThe Meaning of ConnectionPanache feels that the essence of spirituality is connection. He highlights the fact that most us mistakenly look for connection outside of us instead of trying to find connection from within ourselves. His own experience has been that the more he gets over the identity, fear and insecurity, and the more he embraces his humanity in its totality and stops compartmentalizing life, the more love he feels for himself and for everyone else. He shares that everyone is beautiful and that no matter how one experiences life, they are loved.“The entry point is acceptance of self” - Panache DesaiPeople’s Struggles with Self-AcceptanceThe root cause of suffering in people from all walks of life is being on some level of rejecting themselves and rejecting aspects of their humanity. Panache says that we must soften into experiencing our humanity so we can start to show up for ourselves in the most loving way possible. This is something that Panache struggled with as he worked hard to succeed. When Oprah introduced him into the mainstream media, he still didn’t feel like he was enough in himself. He had parts of himself that he needed to embrace and a lot of maturing to do, and almost losing his daughter was what challenged him to do it.“Our humanity is the doorway to our divinity or to our personal power” - Panache DesaiThe Juxtaposition in Our Personal DevelopmentThis depends on where we are engaging in it from. If we engage in it from the mentality that “I’m broken. I need healing and I need fixing, and there is something wrong with me” then

Ep 112IE112 Emily Fletcher: Meditation Mastery: Stress Less, Achieve More (Nishkama Karma Yoga)
Our guest this week is Emily Fletcher, the founder of Ziva Meditation, creator of The Ziva Technique, and the leading expert in meditation for high performance.Book available HERE.About EmilyEmily is the author of the bestselling book Stress Less, Accomplish More which debuted at #7 out of all books on Amazon. Her recent accomplishments provide a stark contrast to the stressed out Broadway performer she was ten years ago. During her decade-long career on Broadway, which included roles in Chicago, The Producers & A Chorus Line, she began going gray at 27, suffering from insomnia, underperforming at work, getting sick 4 to 5 times a year, and believing this was all “normal.” Click here to get your copy of her bestselling book Stress Less, Accomplish More: https://amzn.to/3bDtjm1Thankfully, she found a powerful practice that cured her insomnia and improved her health on the very first day. Her physical and professional transformation was so dramatic that she felt inspired to share it with others. One year later, Emily left Broadway for Rishikesh, India to begin what would become 3 years of teacher training. She later founded Ziva in 2011, opened the NYC studio, and created the world’s first online meditation training. After years of teaching thousands of people, Emily realized that meditation was not enough to help her students perform at the top of their game. So in 2017, she developed The Ziva Technique, a powerful trifecta of mindfulness, meditation and manifesting designed to unlock your full potential. The New York Times, The Today Show, Vogue and ABC News have all featured her work, and she’s been named one of the top 100 women in wellness, has taught 20,000 students and has spoken on meditation for performance at Google, Apple, Harvard Business School and Barclays Bank. Ziva graduates include Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony award winners, as well as NBA players, CEOs, busy parents, and entrepreneurs.Join the Inspired Evolution Tribe:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InspiredEvolution/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/InspiredEvo/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/InspiredEvolution/Website: https://inspiredevolution.com/In this Episode We Canvas:Meditating to be Better at LifeEmily believes that we don’t meditate to be better at meditating but to be better at life, because so many people start meditating and end up quitting somewhere along the way because they feel like they can’t clear their mind enough to do it properly. She encourages people to focus more on the real benefits of meditation (like being kind, present, compassionate, creative, intuitive, and much more) which is what people really look at. “None of us are meditating because we want to be excellent meditators” - Emily FletcherEmily’s Meditation BackstoryShe started meditating 11 years ago and teaching 9 years ago, but before that she had no idea what meditation was. She had been performing on Broadway for 10 years and her work there gave her a lot of stress, anxiety, insomnia, and other health complications so she signed up for a 4-day course where the first thing she had to do was meditate. That meditation enabled her to sleep through the night for the first time in 18 months, and every night since. From the curiosity of wondering why everyone was not doing meditation, she decided to leave Broadway to go to India where she started a 3-year training process to teach. She’s excited to see that the world is waking up to the benefits of meditation.“I don’t have grey hair now, I was legitimately going grey at 27, I didn’t get sick for eight and a half years, and most importantly, I started enjoying my job again” - Emily FletcherThe Challenges People Have with StressShe explains how the human stress reaction is borne out of predatory attacks by describing the series of chemical reactions that take place when we are stressed, and how that keeps us from performing at the top of our game. Practicing meditation and other mindfulness techniques helps people in dealing with stress and Emily talks about how the meditation portion of Ziva helps a person in creating a trait change that is based more on getting rid of stress from the past because the accumulation of stresses is what makes us stupid, sick, and slows as a species.“If all your doing is dealing with your stress in the now, that’s a very western, like treat-the-symptom type of thinking” - Emily FletcherGetting to the Fourth State of ConsciousnessThe three states of consciousness that we’re all familiar with are waking, sleeping, and dreaming. Emily highlights the reason for insomnia as the fact that many of us use sleep as a time for stress release because sleep is the most effective form of rest that we have if we don’t have a meditation practice. Emily’s Ziva meditation enables one to access and cultivate a verifiable fourth state of consciousness which is different from waking, sleeping, or dreaming. It enables someone to give their body rest that is about five times deeper than

She went to see a therapist and loved the idea of being one. When she did become one, she realized that all her clients were impressed by what she could do. Her ability to detect exactly what plagues her clients’ health has always enabled her to help them heal. She highlights the great power of the mind in healing and teaches people to dialogue with their mind to tap into that power.“It’s a wonderful thing that the mind can create miracles in the body” - Marisa Peer Healing = Self-HealingThrough her Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), she helps her clients heal by first of all finding out the root of their health issue and demonstrating it to them so they can understand what the source of their issue is, and then working on fixing it. That way, her clients become part and parcel of their healing process. When she has a client who’s in a lot of pain for example, she gets rid of the pain first, and then gets to know her client better so she can understand why they have it.“Understanding is power and it’s very hard to fix what you don’t understand” - Marisa PeerNavigating Through RelationshipsTypically, when we form beliefs about ourselves, we tend to go out into the world to find people who match our beliefs, and it’s critical for all of us to look into ourselves and find out what we believe and feel about ourselves so we can start changing our lives and relationships for the better. It’s when we don’t feel so good about ourselves that we form the opinion that we need to earn love, run after it, chase it, or even buy it, and that’s a classic mistake because love is not to be run after or earned. “We make the belief, the belief makes us” - Marisa Peer Writing a New ScriptWhen it comes to starting a family and having kids, it’s important for a person to first change their relationship with themselves. It’s also important to understand that children are dependent and they idolize their parents no matter what. A child can do anything to feel that their parents love them, and so parents must be focused on always making sure that they tell their children how much they love them as they are.“”To survive on the planet, a baby must find connection while avoiding rejection” - Marisa

On the list of SANG Members and Participants, you can find esteemed professionals such as Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Peter Guber, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hanse, Harvey Mackay, Keith Ferrazzi, Tony Hsieh of Zappos and Paula Abdul.Larry’s goal is to raise a billion dollars over his lifetime through his connections, business ventures, and social influence. He is a strong advocate for many charity organizations and believes that we CAN and WILL change the world, and solve the problems that plague so many people in America. He is the past Chairman of the Tsunami Disaster Relief Project, where he brought top business leaders together to raise money for the victims of the Indonesian Tsunami. He has also supported the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, served on the advisory board of the Wyland Foundation and the Soul of Africa, and has helped raise money for Richard Branson’s charity, Virgin Unite. When Larry isn’t working, he likes to attend live concerts, sporting events, and award shows like the Grammy’s. On the top of that list, however, is spending time with his 4 little nieces.Connect with Larry:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/larrybenetTwitter: https://twitter.com/larrybenetWebsite: http://www.larrybenet.com/In This Episode We Canvas:The Big Turn-off of NetworkingLarry has never been excited about networking and doesn’t encourage it at all. He is more focused on connecting with influential people and other people in general and believes more in helping people, adding value to their lives, serving them, and making a difference in their lives in an authentic manner. “One of the last things that I personally would like to do is go to an event where I don’t know anyone and try to walk up to random strangers.” - Larry BenetThe 5-Step Recipe for ConnectingHis recipe for connecting with people starts with creating an authentic meaningful personal connection with someone, followed by finding out what is most important to them, helping them get what they want, being a good VC (Value Creator), and setting up a good strong follow up system that will ensure you stay in touch with them. “You don’t have to be a venture capitalist, but if you can just master the skill of value creation, in my opinion, that’s one of the most valuable things you can learn.” - Larry BenetHow to Figure Out What’s Important to PeopleFinding out what’s important to people both personally and professionally is a game-changer and the best method is still - just to ask them, point-blank. And if you can help them to get closer to achieving it - your relationship will be off to a great start!“After I have a rapport with someone, I’ll just come flat out and ask them what’s the important project or goal they’re working on in case I or my influential network might be able to help them.” - Larry BenetWhat Is Relationship Currency? In life and business, people prefer to do business with people they know, like, and trust. But Larry believes that when we help others, we make it easier to connect with those people, and this the fundamental meaning of relationship currency or relationship capital. There is so much power in realizing that there is always someone who has what another person wants.“The reality is, what you want in life, someone else already has.” - Larry BenetThe Value of TrustA great example of just how deterring lack of trust can be are the relationships between the republicans and democrats in the United States. They don’t trust each other. The resulting effect of that is that it takes them a very long time to pass legislation. Trust is critical and the fact of the matter is that whenever trust is involved and we go out of our way to help someone, a lot of value is being exchanged. It’s a lot easier to get the end result done and to do it way more efficiently.“When there is no trust, things take a very long time.” - Larry BenetInvesting Time into Connecting with PeopleConnecting with people is a way of life for Larry, and he encourages people to incorporate reaching out to three people a day into their daily structure. This should include showing appreciation by, for example, pulling out your phone and texting someone you haven’t talked to in a while and tell them how you value them. It’s really all about being thoughtful!“It’s just being thoughtful more than anything else. It doesn’t have to take a whole lot of time or money.” - Larry BenetHow to Be a Value CreatorWhen we come into contact with others, we should think about h

From leaving his home in Italy to go to London in search of something more, to being inspired by Lenny Kravitz to teach himself how to play the guitar. He ended up becoming a very accomplished fine-dining chef, but that took its toll on him spiritually and physically due to working 70 to 90-hour weeks. This situation gave birth to his interest in spirituality. He will dive into the widespread mental health issues among workers in the hospitality industry and the toxic environment in fine dining.“Yoga and a little bit of meditation were more like a physical practice and a way for me to escape from the stress, hours, and the tension in the body and mind.” - Paolo ArlottaThe Inspiration Behind Chefs of YogaHe was very insecure in his youth but over time his confidence and self-love have grown exponentially especially with regard to being able to share his life experiences. Yoga was a big game-changer in his life and cheffing work in that it helped him improve his efficiency, productivity, concentration, and focus. It played a positive role in changing the way he responded to the daily stressful situations that came with working in hospitality. Chefs of Yoga was his first step into sharing the magic of yoga with the world.“Every day goes by and I feel I’m not working, I’m just doing what I like to do.” - Paolo ArlottaDoubling Down on His Strengths and Yoga to Thrive in His SpaceWe learn and make our way through lives and work through listening and seeing, but Paolo is all about taste and touch, which is part of the reason he fell in love with the food space. He also incorporates yoga into his daily practice to keep every aspect of his life running smoothly.“When it comes to yoga and body movement in general for me, it’s something that I really need to do in order to keep grounded.” - Paolo ArlottaHow to Navigate Yourself Through JudgementLiving by example and believing in what he does is crucial for Paolo. It keeps him from being affected by people’s judgments on what he does because he recognizes that his message can only be appreciated by people who are at the point in their lives where his message would resonate with them.“People are at different points in life so there are different times in each person’s life when they’re ready to receive certain information.” - Paolo ArlottaShar

Ep 108IE108 Jon Yeo: Mastering TEDx Stages: Secret to Impactful Speaking
Our guest for this week is Jon Yeo, Speaker, Executive Coach and the Co-Founder of TEDx Melbourne.About JonJon is an executive coach who helps leaders share strategic messages in meaningful ways. He’s well-known for his ability to articulate the complex simply and he works with CEOs and senior leadership teams to build trust, empathy, and engagement in an increasingly distracted world. He works with many famous national and international brands such as SAP, Princess Cruises, Auspost, MYOB, Deakin University, DHHS and DET. Jon is currently developing his training into the core curriculum for University MBA programs. Jon is the past President of Professional Speakers Australia and is the current Licensee of TEDxMelbourne. He selects and preps all speakers personally for each conference in order to create a true spectacle of sharing and inspiration. If Jon has any "spare" time, he works with Youth, Youth at Risk and Diversity and Inclusion programs of major international organizations.Connect with Jon:LinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/jonyeoTwitter: https://twitter.com/jontvIn This Episode We Canvas:Top Benefits from Attending a TEDx ConferenceTEDx is a place for people who are doing some remarkable things in their area of expertise and are looking to share their ideas and visions with the rest of the world. Jon shares some insights regarding the vibes and the addictive quality of the support and the energy you get from exchanging ideas in a setting that’s proven to be highly stimulating.“There is a genuine interest in helping each other! And so this is really… a strong sense of community - how do we support each other through these grand visions that we all hold” - Jon YeoCreating a Ripple Effect by Doing Small ThingsJon is a huge believer in the fact that you can make a big difference in the world by doing accumulating small gestures you volunteer every day over an extended period of time. It is a belief that he acquired through his upbringing and there’s an entire TEDx talk that he made a while back centered around this idea.“Small things can make a big difference.” - Jon YeoBuilding Momentum Using First PrinciplesIn our introduction, we’ve mentioned that Jon is well-known for being able to articulate complex things simply. But he’s often encountered a mindset that people feel there needs to be something more to the story. Like we somehow expect that complexity itself adds value. He reflects on the universal and effective nature of first principles and how we can use them to build momentum.“If you think about first principles, none of those are complex. Yet they’re all universally and infinitely effective. I think people don’t want to think about first principles. Mostly because it takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of effort and sometimes it’s confronting… And it’s that… resistance... that causes that momentum to be lost because we spend all our effort trying to break our inertia, rather than all our effort optimizing around that momentum.” - Jon YeoHow To Prepare a Good TEDx TalkThis was a unique experience for us to get valuable insight into what makes a strong TEDx Talk and Jon was very generous and honest in his response.“Is that talk, first of all, something that everyone’s talking about, no one’s talking about, or someone is talking about it but in a unique way… It’s that third one I’m looking for.” - Jon YeoCreating a Disproportionate Amount of AttentionIn order to get your story out there, you obviously need to have a strong position. But Jon also recognizes the necessity of creating attention and how you also need to invest your time and resources in an effort to develop a disproportionate amount of it.“If you have a great idea it’s not of any help to anyone if it doesn’t create attention. And a disproportionate amount of attention. If you think of great brands that always do that sort of thing, you’ve got… Elon Musk and his tweets, Richard Branson and his PR stunts… Once you know that you need to do that,... the other two factors are momentum and timing.” - Jon YeoThe Relationship Between Potential, Opportunities, and MomentumJon believes that each and every one of us needs to draw strength from and own a tendency to be the best person they can be. The consequences for not doing so can be dire for our growth and progress which he wonderfully explores in the relationship between three very important factors - Potential, Opportunities, and Momentum.“We’re undermining our potential. And if we’re undermining our potential, we’re undermining opportunities. And if we’re undermining our opportunities we’re undermining our momentum.” - Jon YeoStaying Invested In the Bigger PictureDuring the talk, Jon mentioned that we have a moral obligation to do our best, but he also recognizes that doing our best needs to encompass a notion of giving and sharing with others. We must not allow ourselves to be consumed by self-serving values.“I don’t think that our value to the community and the way that we

She makes a really cute demonstration by bringing up a person from the audience and in doing so, raises the vibration of the entire room. What a way to get started!“One of the mistakes that I think people make is that creativity is about the arts. That it’s about painting or drawing or doing ballet… Creativity is also about solving problems. All of us are creative, solving problems.” - Tania de JongInnovation and Why We Desperately Need ItShe continues to explain what we can use our creativity for. Applied creativity is innovation and we can use it to make real contributions to our society. And we could definitely use a wave of those contributions right now.“Innovation is the next part of that stage. So creativity, coming up with a lot of different ideas, solving problems, and then innovation is turning those ideas into something of value. Which doesn’t have to be of commercial value it could be of social value. And social value is exactly what we need right now in a world of increasing social and economic problems.” - Tania de JongWhy It’s OK to F.A.I.L.Tania tells a story about her grandmother invented the first foldable umbrella, which is an incredible tale. You should definitely tune in to hear more about it. We touch on the notion of failing in this section and Tania offers a wonderful acronym that will help us maintain the right perspective.“I like to think of ‘F.A.I.L.’ as ‘First Attempt In Learning…’ That really is the secret of entrepreneurship and creativity. Is going through that fear of failure. ” - Tania de JongCreative Abrasion and Positive Human CollisionsThe true potential for learning from our social interactions is in our diversity. In this section, Tania talks about ‘positive human collisions’ and explains why they’re a necessity for efficient personal growth and transformation.“Our greatest gains as human beings are when we connect to people who are really different from us...You get that set of life experiences through connecting with people… who challenge you, who disagree with you… But it’s in that moment when you experience what’s called ‘creative abrasion’ and you feel that discomfort that really true creativity and innovation can spark. And I like to call that ‘positive human collision.’” - Tania de JongHow Does Singing Together Help Us Grow?At the end of our conversation at the ‘Get Hacked Get Hi’ conference, Tania share

Numerous quotes and stories from celebrities and top-level athletes are a testament to the fact that in order to succeed we have to fail first so that we would learn how not to. But Rajesh adds to the conversation by making a key distinction between the type of failure that is useful to us and the other one which is only hurting us. In order for failure to truly be beneficial for personal growth, it needs to come with the dedication and not from lack of concentration or diminished motivation. We really have to be willing to give it a go.“As long as you’re growing… failure is good. But if your failure is because you don’t want to try hard enough… it won’t help. The failure has to be on the edges of your comfort zone. Only then, it is growth.” - Rajesh SettyThe Greatest Competitive Advantage a Person Can HaveThis section is one of the most profound dissections of how to build a successful life. With this next quote, all the while explaining each and every component meticulously, Rajesh provides us with a perspective that will guide our professional development and give exponential boosts to our growth. “It is your ability to give meaningful gifts, at scale, at a very low incremental cost to you.” - Rajesh SettyHow Helping Others Can Increase Your Art of SucceedingBuilding on his previous statement, Rajesh continues to explain why his suggestion of the essential competitive advantage actually works. Once again the power of collaboration and teamwork comes to our attention, this time in the context of career development.“When you truly give a meaningful gift, the giver feels like reciprocating back. Now, if you’re doing this at scale… that means they all want to reciprocate back to you. What does that mean? You will have an oversupply of good help. That is how you increase the Art of Succeeding.” - Rajesh SettyBuilding Contextual Expertise for Conceptual KnowledgeRajesh shares his thoughts on why it’s important to practice your skills in different situations. His viewpoint is that this is the best way to take your expertise to the next level, by learning to apply conceptual knowledge in all kinds of contexts quickly and effectively.“As you build your contextual expertise for conceptual knowledge that you have, you become extremely powerful. Why? Because you become a ninja on patterns.” - Rajesh SettyWhat Are ‘Napkinsights’ and How They Came to Be?We briefly touch on one of Rajesh’s personal projects and he was kind enough to share a little bit about the behind-the-scenes stuff. He talks about how it all started, his goals and the feedback he got.“Any insight that can fit in a paper napkin is called a Napkin Insight... I try to put an ‘A-ha’ moment or something that will give an ‘A-ha’ moment in a random place.” - Rajesh Setty How to Persevere When Developing a SkillWhen learning a new skill whichever it may be, perseverance is essential because it is a process that requires periodical involvement, effort, and sacrifice. Giving up is always an option, one that we struggle with on our journey to train and improve ourselves. We usually give up because we lose motivation or we can’t deal with frustration but Rajesh proposes that there’s a mindset that can be attributed to lots of these scenarios. A mindset created from the fact we forgot how to be beginners. “Before

He explores the differences between the Ego and the Presence and already we can see the dynamics of how meditation helps us improve the quality of our life.“In each moment there’s just Consciousness or Presence or Awareness, that is here, and then there’s also, depending on how engaged, involved or developed it is, is the Egoic Identity that’s in this experience as well… The Ego is consistently identified by the world around it… The Presence itself is completely unmoved. It’s just watchfulness. Complete, unjudged, unbiased… uninfluenced watchfulness of this experience.” - Tom CroninWhat Is Enlightenment?Tom breaks down the beautiful game that we play when we try to “achieve” enlightenment and he does it in such a beautiful, almost poetic fashion. The fact is “reaching”, “achieving” or “attaining” is actually the aspect that leaving us misguided.“It’s the nature of the universe to be everything and know everything at all times but to be able to forget that as well. And be curious about trying to find and remember that. It’s just a fascinating game that we play in the rediscovering of what we already are. The enlightenment isn’t something that we find, the enlightenment is the rediscovering of what we already, innately, are. - Tom CroninSeeking Fulfillment Vs. What We’re Actually GettingTom invites us to reflect on whether our actions are leading us to what we’re trying to achieve. He also makes an observation regarding the current state of the world that we’re living in and concludes that even though, materially, we’re better off than ever before, it still hasn’t done much to help us get what is really important, which is fulfillment.“What we have to ask ourselves is, is our action giving us what we’re seeking, giving us fulfillment? Is it giving us the ultimate destination, what we’re actually trying to find?... There’s a distinct separation between what we’re seeking and what we’re getting.” - Tom CroninHow Vibrations Tend to Sync and AlignWe’ve mentioned vibrations a few times over the course of our conversation, but here Tom explains how a certain tendency towards synchronization between these vibrations can help people change their life for the better.“There is a synchronization that happens on a vibrationary level… If your vibration starts to shift from fear, anger, rage, guilt, shame, all that sort of stuff, very low frequencies… And through meditation, you’re clearing out all of these low energies you’re moving your energy up into, sort of, more lovingness, more calmness, more joyfulness, a totally different frequency scale… Then you’re going to naturally, start to want to align your actions to something of similar vibration.” - Tom CroninThe ‘Seeker, Finder, Sharer’ SequenceTom describes a sequence that depicts a journey of personal growth and transformation that most people go through.“The first thing that you do when you walk into a dark room is you climb around looking for the light… Eventually, after seeking for a while, you find the light switch… You find some way of making your life lighter and more illuminated… And then the next stage in the sequence is once you find that it’s like, ‘Oh my good

Ep 104IE104 Mira Kelley: Harnessing Past Life Regression to Activate Your Purpose & Embrace Peace
Our guest for this week is Mira Kelley, a consciousness architect, master healer, author, international speaker, and a past life regressionist. About MiraMira discovered her passion for past life regressions when she was only 13 years old. The peak experience that she felt that day really stuck with her. Years later, she found herself dealing with a chronic TMJ condition and a pain that she desperately needed to get rid of. The traditional medical approach to resolving this issue was incredibly invasive, so she decided to give past regression therapy a chance and in only two sessions - her pain was completely gone! Her personal experience of regression therapy led her to a path of becoming a master healer herself. She has worked with hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world, individually and through her many programs, products, and workshops, to help them clear their emotional and physical problems, to let go of the past and to create their best lives now.Her work has been prominently featured in the New York Times best-selling books of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Brian Weiss, Anita Moorjani and Cathy Byrd. But she quickly realized there was potential for taking things a step further and introduced her own expertise into the equation which allows her to “redesign people’s consciousness”. She shares her experiences and explains why this approach has a lot more to offer to her clients.“That’s really what liberates us. That’s really what allows the path to unfold and to move their life in a way they want it to be.” - Mira KelleyThe Human Tendency Towards Creating NarrativesIn this section, we discuss the origin and the benefits of our tendency to think about life in stories.“Stories are really a very beautiful way for us to connect with the understanding, with the lessons, release, emotions… We are truly story-based with everything. We explain our life away that way, we dream of the future in stories…” - Mira KelleyThe Question of PurposeWe’ve approached the question of purpose on our podcast so many times, but it seems like we’ll never run out of interesting and unique perspectives. Such is the case with Mira’s approach where she offers a two-layered answer to the conundrum.“When people say to me, ‘What is my purpose?’, I give thin this two-layered answer… The first layer of this answer is really - the purpose is to be you… With all your glory, with all your talents,... Truly - you! When it gets a little more specific that’s the second level of the answer. Our purpose is to be here for us to be ourselves so that we can, in the being of ourselves and the use of our gifts and talents, in the fulfillment of our value… to learn how to handle your thoughts and emotions. In other words, to learn how to handle this creative power within us.” - Mira KelleyHow to Discover Your PurposeFrom the question of “What is my purpose?” we continue to go deeper in order to provide an answer for “How can I discover my purpose?” and Mira reveals an insightful approach.“My suggestion is, very simply, go right where it’s easy. Because your purpose is you… The expression of you. So this is not about something that is hard, this is not something that you have to deserve. This is already in you! You already know what people appreciate you for. You already know what comes easy for you.” - Mira KelleyThe 3 Steps to Living Your PurposeWe’ve already set the stage in the previous section and now Mira drives the discussion home with her 3-step approach to living your purpose!1 - Discover What Excites You“It starts by saying what speaks to me, right here, in this moment… What feeds my soul, what do I have the opportunity to engage in that really is the highest excitement in this moment.” - Mira Kelley2 - Do It to the Best Of Your Ability“It’s very important to do what excites you without holding back. Without any expectations… Truly do it to the best of your ability.” - Mira Kelley3 - Do It Witho

Ep 103IE103 Tony Johannsen: Embracing Anxiety: The Secret to Authentic Living
Our guest for this week is Tony Johannsen, an existential psychotherapist, coach, facilitator, artist, and behavior-change specialist.Today’s episode is a two-parter! The first part had been recorded live at an event called ‘Get Hacked, Get Hi’ and the other is our followup Zoom conversation. Almost two hours of in-depth conversation about existential philosophy and how to apply it to personal growth. YEW!About TonyTony Johannsen is a certified psychotherapist who uses an approach based on existential philosophy in order to help people build richer and more rewarding lives. He draws on a vast base knowledge from disciplines such as neurology, philosophy, psychotherapy and combines them with flow states to inspire positive changes in the behavior of his clients. Tony predominantly works with the criminal justice system and he is an expert on the topic of substance and alcohol abuse and addictions. His understanding of anxiety is both fascinating and unique because as he believes it should be considered a guiding tool rather than a symptom that has to be treated. In these 90 minutes of in-depth conversation, we explore some of the most burning questions related to our existence and the human experience. Tony usually keeps a low profile and doesn’t do much work in the private sector. But he is preparing a series of workshops for 2020 and it sounds like an amazing idea! If you enjoy his approach and message, make sure to check out his website or follow him on social media for updates! At the young age of 15, he had his first direct experience of mortality when his brother tragically died in a car accident. He reminisces about how he was bothered by the fact he felt people were offering sympathy and pitty. Today, Tony makes a key distinction and a conscious decision to refrain from sympathy and turn to empathy. “As a psychotherapist, I specialize in empathy. Sympathy is not my bag, I don’t feel sorry for anyone. But I can definitely empathize with whatever the state you’re in and whatever you’re experiencing at this point in time.” - Tony JohannsenThe 4 Key Existential GivensTony provides us with an overview of existential philosophy and it’s founding postulates. The four fundamental existential givens are:1- Death“We’re the only creature where it seems to be an issue. A large part of it is because it’s a boundaried existence - we know it’s finite.” - Tony Johannsen2 - Meaninglessness“Point two… I mean there’s no hierarchy and order. So we’ll go with meaninglessness… The existential position is there’s no essence for what it means to be human.” - Tony Johannsen3 - Isolation“There’s always like a gap in communication between humans. And that gap from an existential standpoint is what they call isolation.” - Tony Johannsen4 - Meeting of Freedom and Responsibility“Number four is a meeting of two concepts which is freedom and responsibility, which ties in with possibility I guess... Beyond these human limitations that we’ve been speaking of, the freedoms and possibilities are virtually boundless.” - Tony JohannsenAnxiety as a Call to AuthenticityTony’s unique understanding of authenticity is one of the key aspects of his approach based on existentialism. Rather than looking at anxiety as something to be treated and removed, he chooses to look at it as a way to reveal authenticity, the things that are most important to us.“The way of understanding our anxiety before showtime, for example, is that this really matters to me. So it’s appropriate that I’m anxious about this. Because it matters, this means a lot!” - Tony JohannsenHow to Hack Blame and AngerYou can expect a lot of practical takeaways from this conversation and one of them is Tony’s advice on how to hack anger and refrain from placing blame on others.“Next time you blame somebody for something or you have a disproportionate reaction to the stimulus, which is to get angry, fundamentally, just hold yourself for a minute and check-in and say: ‘Am I taking full responsibility for my behavior in this point in time?’ and odds are you’re not because you never do.” - Tony JohannsenThe Difference Between Nihilism and ExistentialismExistentialism is often confused with Nihilism which usually puts people off from exploring these ideas further. Nevertheless, there is a key difference between these two schools of thought and Tony uses a very relatable example in order to highlight this distinction.“Rather than saying, ‘I don’t speed because I don’t speed because I’m going to get a fine.’, for example. The first burning question was related to the disconnection with the self that we’re experiencing in a time where technology has allowed us to connect with each other instantly, at all times.“Everyone was looking really to say, ‘Hey, I know connection is important but we live in such a hyperconnected world yet we are not so hyperconnected with ourselves.’” - Siddharth AnantharamBeing Alone vs. Being LonelyThe second burning question was the distinction between being alone and being lonely. We’ve referenced this distinction later in our conversation and we discussed it in the context of mental health issues being connected to loneliness.“The second thing that stood out was a lot of people confusing being alone with being lonely. Being alone actually made them lonelier, whereas, if you think about it, being alone is what they were really looking forward to authentically reconnect to themselves.” - Siddharth AnantharamThe 3 Ingredients to a Meaningful ConversationSid shared the three principles that allow for a meaningful conversation, which are:Vulnerability“One of the biggest things I’ve realized about meaningful conversations when it comes to vulnerability is entering a conversation not knowing the outcome.” - Siddharth AnantharamHonesty“Meaningful conversations require a level of honesty that is honesty both to understand and be understood.” - Siddharth AnantharamPerspective“When people are having a conversation we are all wearing a pair of glasses. We are looking at the world through a pair of lenses and a conversation is really the simplest way for us to exchange our pair of glasses.” - Siddharth AnantharamThese are also the three principles that Sid and his colleagues base their Life Circles on.“We go into each person’s burning questions and try to see how can we have honest and vulnerable conversations that give each person perspective to what they’re really thinking and feeling in the moment.” - Siddharth AnantharamThe Two Types of DisconnectionDiving deeper into the notion of disconnection, Sid again offers insights he acquired from his circles. He presents an ironic distinction between two groups of people experiencing disconnection in a completely different way. What makes it ironic is the fact that, in order to reconnect, they’d need to learn how to incorporate each other’s approach.“There were two types of people in the room… One was people who were so connected to what they were doing in the world every single day that it was leading to burnout… And there was another spectrum of people... People who want to do so much in the world but were so connected to themselves that they keep prioritizing themselves first without doing the work.” - Siddharth AnantharamThe Power of Collective WisdomCollective wisdom is another principle that Sid’s work with ‘Lif

One had been recorded live at an event called ‘Get Hacked, Get Hi’ and the other is our followup conversation where we explored the notion of hacking your sleep further.About DayneDayne is a former actor turned biohacker. This huge shift towards the world of health and well-being was sadly motivated by the loss of a loved one. After his grandfather passed away in 2014, he started to explore all sorts of disciplines and techniques that can help us lead a healthier life. His deep dive into the field of health drove him even further from the moment he discovered the Paleo protocol. In recent years, Dayne’s been working hard in the field of health and got certified as a Health and Primal Coach, an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and also a Bulletproof Coach from Dave Asprey’s Bulletproof Training Institute. Some of his main areas of focus include sleep, diet, fitness, cognition, psychology, earthing/grounding, and wearables. In 2018, Dayne founded a company that produces and sells interchangeable blue-blocking glasses called “Barkley Eyewear”. These glasses block out the blue, artificial light which helps regulate the circadian rhythm and allows for better sleeping routines. Aside from proving to be extremely beneficial for sleep-regulation, Dayne's glasses are also very stylish and work great as a fashion accessory. The fact of the matter is that we’re surrounded by sources of light that contain a massive disproportion of blue light that is messing with our internal, circadian rhythm. Computers, phones, all sorts of screens and neon signs have created a setting that discourages healthy sleeping routines and patterns.“It sort of tricks the brain that your body is like, “Oh, is it daytime? Is it nighttime?”... It scrambles the clock inside of the human eye.” - Dayne BarkleyWhy Is Sleep So Important? As we slide over into the topic of sleep, we go over why it plays such a huge role in our health and what we need to do in order to devise a routine that can help us rest better and recharge optimally. Dayne acknowledges the slight variations in our needs for sleep which is why he suggests objective measurements. This way, we can precisely figure out the right amount of sleep per day we need individually. “It doesn’t matter what your genetics are, it’s universal, across everything… We’re designed to sleep a certain amount of hours. There’s a very small group that can actually get away with 6 hours of sleep.” - Dayne BarkleyTop Tips for Hacking Your SleepAs a sign off from the live portion of our podcast, Dayne shares his top tips for hacking your sleep!“Move away from the coil mattresses - they’re not beneficial at all... If you don’t want to switch off the power in your house, at least go turn off your Wi-Fi router at night... And then, keeping your room as dark and as cool as possible - that’s a really important part.” - Dayne BarkleyThe Importance of Meal Timing for SleepDayne places the timing of his meals throughout the day as one of the key elements of his health transformation. Years of research and experimentation have contributed to his success and he’s selflessly sharing his results with us!“It’s going off of what I’ve learned and now I’ve seen the actual impact… And I truly believe it’s actually quite a universal approach as well.” - Dayne BarkleyThe Power of Routines and HabitsCreating healthy habits and routines seems to be at the foundation of our conversation. Here, Dayne explores additional tips that can help us develop and strengthen them.“Create some sort of a routine and structure and then make your environment pull for that as well.” - Dayne BarkleyHow to Prevent Jet Lag For all those frequent flyers out there, Dayne shares the routine that has helped him deal with jet lag over the years!

Ep 100IE100 Molly Cofman: Healing Harmonies: Ancient Wisdom & Modern Practices (Inspiration Heals)
Our guest for this week is Molly Cofman, a 500-hour certified yoga instructor, acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, avid world traveler, and healer.About MollyMolly was always drawn to being a healer and her formal education can attest to that. She holds a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine as well as a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Aside from that. she also has a master of Fine Arts in Theater Arts and Dance from the University of Arizona. For a time, she was also a part of the renowned Human Genome Project, which is still the world’s largest collaborative biological project to date. Still, her journey took her away from the traditional medical approach as she discovered it didn’t align with her core values. Molly wanted to make a more personal and direct impact on people’s lives which is why she turned to dance and music - practices she has used as a form of personal therapy her entire life. For her, it was a way of “tapping into the wisdom beyond words.”Under her personal brand Inspiration Heals, Molly uses resources and knowledge from numerous disciplines and practices in order to provide a unique and effective healing approach. She uses the power of travel to provide people with an opportunity to explore different cultures as well as themselves, all the while teaching on mindfulness practices that help guide the entire experience. She hosts retreats throughout the year and the next one will be held in South America, in the Patagonia region during March 2020. Most people that consider themselves uncreative do so because they lose sight of what it actually means to be creative. They focus on the grandiose expressions of creativity which clouds their judgment and makes them believe the lie that they are incapable of creative thought and action, which is never the case.“For me, I think that the foundation of creativity, and I think that’s something that I’m really striving to facilitate for people, is just the simplicity of perspective. Of seeing life from different perspectives.” - Molly CofmanThe Connection Between Creativity and OpennessContinuing our conversation on the path of exploring creativity, Molly shares another gem of the role of openness and how it affects our ability to be creative. If creativity is about variation and different perspectives we need to open ourselves up further in order to truly grasp and wield its power.“It’s having the confidence to walk the walk but not closing any door to possibility.” - Molly CofmanRelationship as the Foundation of LifeIn this section, Molly talks about how life doesn’t exist or occur in isolation - everything is connected. It is in those connections and relationships that we need to seek self-improvement and growth because isolating ourselves from the world doesn’t work. It only increases our suffering.“Nothing in life exists out of relationship. Down to the fact that we’re in relationship with our thoughts. It’s not like we’re ever isolated… The very foundation of life is relationship.” - Molly CofmanConsiderations Regarding the Self-Help MovementExploring the notions of isolation and relationship further, Molly brings to light a potential side of self-help movement that can actually have negative impacts if we do not take into account the value of connection.“I was a little bit at odds with some of the things that were being presented. Not that the foundation of the teachings wasn’t sound but what I felt like it was doing was encouraging people to cocoon themselves.” - Molly CofmanPractices That Help Us CopeWe’ve often talked on the podcast about the numerous benefits certain practices and rituals can help lead us to personal growth. Here, Molly talks about how regularly engaging in practices such as mindfulness, meditation, and yoga can help us bring into a healthy space that allows us to be creative.“That’s why for me, things like yoga, things like the meditative practice things like… Any kind of daily ritual that helps to keep us on track of what direction we believe we want to go… They’re like a beacon of light in the darkness of the unknown.” - Molly CofmanBeing Governed by the ElementsUnderstanding the connection between nature and life is yet another topic we dive deep into. Bringing this relationship into focus gives us an opportunity to come

Ep 99IE099 Koya Webb: Spiritual Grit: How to Get "Loved Up" and Let Your Fears Make You Fierce

She was first introduced to yoga as a form of rehabilitation for an injury she suffered while training for the Olympics. But as time went by, she continued to fall in love with the practice. Her goal is to combat some of the world’s biggest challenges including mental health, social injustices, and global warming. In 2010, Koya founded ‘Get Loved Up’, which is an international lifestyle community and Yoga School. The community offers tons of services that inspire mental, spiritual and physical health including an app, online courses, regular retreats, and in-person yoga teacher training events. It is an inspiring guide with practical tips that will help you overcome and rid yourself of the fears that are holding you back and preventing you from living your ideal life. She describes from a deeply personal and subjective standpoint what the notion means for her and how she has been able to adapt it as one of her principles for living a magnificent life.“To me, fierce is all about being willing to look at life with compassion… It would be living your life not afraid to experience all of life. And living your life in a way where you’re causing the least amount of harm to yourself, others and the planet.” - Koya WebbThe Paradox of (Dis)ConnectionIt is somewhat ironic how technology has given us a gift of being able to contact one another by a mere click of a button but has simultaneously led to a point where we’re more emotionally further apart than we’ve ever been. In this section, we explore the conditions that led to this paradox and what is necessary for us to be able to overcome it in the future.“We have all of these technological advances and we have all these social media and we have all this connection at an all-time high... We have the greatest connection but then we also have the greatest disconnection… We’re advancing at such a fast rate, it’s like we haven’t caught up to ourselves!” - Koya WebbUsing Fierceness to Fight ToxicityFierceness and compassion are major themes of our conversation and they will be popping in and out as we discuss various topics. One of the major applications of fierceness, as Koya sees it, is to use it as a tool for eliminating toxicity from the world.“Where the fierceness comes in… It’s standing for what you believe in and not being afraid to speak up for what is right. Because the toxic is speaking real loud!” - Koya WebbSharing Fiercely Without ShamingBuilding on our previous topic, Koya provides us with an example of why compassion and fierceness have to go hand in hand. One has to be supported by the other because it is a way in which we secure that we are being mindful in the way that we are sharing - meaning that we’re speaking our truth without the intent of shaming others.“It’s really about not being perfect but doing the best we can… And in that compassion - you learn it and you share it. And be fierce in your sharing, meaning don’t be too timid not to share, but also compassionate to where you’re not sharing and shaming… Everyone starts somewhere!” - Koya WebbTeaching and Asking the Right QuestionsKoya wasn’t planning on becoming a teacher and the role came to her more like a natural consequence of her personal development and transformation. And maybe it’s because of the fact that she didn’t seek it, is why she has such

Ep 98IE098 Virginia Salas Kastilio: Trust as Social Capital: A Blueprint for a Conscious Future
Our guest for this week is Virginia Salas Kastilio, a serial entrepreneur and founder & CEO of the organization ‘I Trust You’.About VirginiaVirginia is on a mission to reconnect humanity and bring consciousness into the mainstream. Her journey so far has been an incredibly rich adventure filled with all sorts of stories of entrepreneurial success. In 2015, she founded a media agency ‘Gini.TV’ that helps businesses build influence and online awareness. Because of her contributions to social media marketing, she was named #1 female Snapchat influencer by Inc. Magazine. In 2017, she was ranked as one of the top 27 female entrepreneurs to change the world by the same magazine. She is currently scaling her latest organization called ‘I Trust You’ with a goal to contribute to co-creating a regenerative and happy planet Earth. Inspired by the announcement that the UN made in 2018 about how we have 12 years to limit a catastrophe caused by climate change, Virginia decided to contribute to the cause by creating a platform that will allow people to connect around the idea of planet conservation and do amazing things together! The latest addition to her efforts to save the world is ‘I Trust University’ with the idea of introducing the future of education by presenting ancient wisdom for futuristic thinkers. They already offer a bunch of amazing courses from prominent educators, along with a free masterclass called “How to Build Your Legacy” and you can get it here!Connect with Virginia:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/virginia.salaskastilioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ginicanbreathe/?hl=enLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/virginiasalaskastilio/Website: https://www.itrustyou.love/In This Episode We CanvasWhat Inspired Her to Create ‘I Trust You’Even though she was a rising talent in the corporate world, having worked for companies such as Apple and Oracle, managing billions of dollars in the process. However, she knew her true passion lied somewhere else and on her one-year travel around the world, Virginia started noticing a pattern while trying to answer the question “What does it mean to be happy?”“I traveled the world for a year as a ‘happiness researcher’... I just traveled around and interviewed people on what meant to be happy… So in that whole journey of traveling that’s when the insight, the download came to me… Is that, we are becoming more and more disconnected as a humanity.” - Virginia Salas KastilioThe Relationship Between Trust and LoveWe dive deep into what trust means for Virginia and why she puts it at the very core of her message and mission.“Trust is everything. Trust is the baseline for love. And there is only love or fear. And so I believe that when making that transition from fear to trust and love we need courage.” - Virginia Salas KastilioPraying Through Expressing GratitudePraying can be useful practice even for those who are approaching it in a more non-religious way. For Virginia, the act of praying is more or less a thoughtful recapitulation of all the things that you are grateful for. Expressing gratitude is a well-known and effective approach for achieving personal growth, preserving mental health and overall having a better quality of life.“If you really sit with yourself long enough and just start appreciating every little thing… appreciate your relationships, appreciate just the fact that you’re alive just now and you just start praying on that and coming into that gratitude, you’re going to start feeling that courage really bubble up inside you and you’re going to remember who you are - the infinite being that is capable of doing anything in this world.” - Virginia Salas KastilioThe ‘I Trust You’ ExperimentVirginia shares her experiences with the ‘I Trust You’ experiment where she would put on a blindfold, an ‘I Trust You’ T-shirt and hold a sign that says “I trust you, do you trust me? Give me a hug!” It is an incredible way to step into the unknown, be extremely vulnerable while also being an outside-the-box approach to facing fears of intimacy and social anxiety. The hug also plays a key component because, as Virginia puts it herself, “one of the greatest medicines that we have is physical touch.”“If you want a full-blown transformation of what it feels like when the universe is just loving you and when you are afraid to put yourself out there and be blindfolded and vulnerable to the world and to receive so much love - do the ‘I Trust You’ experiment.” - Virginia Salas KastilioEarth Regeneration Instead of SustainabilityVirginia’s mission of preserving the Earth for the future of humanity is revolved around the notion of regeneration rather than sustainability, giving the entire movement a unique and profoundly uplifting feel. The concept of sustainability is strong but its nature is limited - the focus is put on our own survival rather than the one of our planet. By placing regeneration in the center of our goals, we aim beyond pure existence, into the realm of ecol

Stephen agrees he has felt this on numerous occasions and argues that a good entrepreneur has to take responsibility for both the good and the bad that they’ve contributed to the culture of their organization.“I definitely think that the founder and in my case me… My personality, my vision, my dreams, my quirks are all very much embedded into the fabric of the company.” - Stephen SokolerThe Genesis of Journey MeditationStephen has been a practitioner of meditation for quite some time and he addresses the fact how it helped him better himself on a personal as well as a professional level. Throughout our conversation, we get into the intricate details of the story behind Journey Meditation and the company’s origin. Stephen also shares some exciting news about the current state of his product and business in general.“When I looked at meditation I thought it was pretty misunderstood as religious, difficult, spiritual, confusing and I thought we could bring it to people in a simple, approachable, secular way.” - Stephen SokolerThe Benefits of Having a Support GroupOver the years, Stephen has achieved massive personal growth and transformation. In our conversation, he shares his thoughts about how his friends, family, and coworkers made a crucial contribution to his development. “There’s real magic when people come together to meditate… When you have the support of other people to continue to get you to come back… Being a part of that group, or that tribe, or that community makes the difference.” Stephen SokolerFinding Techniques That Work For YouEven though Stephen is a huge advocate of meditation, he is quite aware of the fact that it is just one of the ways we can improve our daily lives. And so, in the context of his entrepreneurial endeavors, meditation is but a mere modality for achieving a goal. The true motivation behind his business is actually about helping people through achieving human connection.“Maybe morning journaling or guided journaling will inspire me at some particular point in my life… I have a friend where meditation doesn’t feel right for them at this moment but perhaps, laughing therapy is something that really lands for them..” - Stephen SokolerThe Trend of Seeking Connection and Waking UpWe address the current state of our society and Stephen’s view is quite optimistic. Through his work, one of the main takeaways he’s acquired is that people are starting to realize that we can an active stance on improving our lives. Whether it’s regarding productivity, or dealing with stress or improving our relationships, we, as a society, are increasingly showing appreciation for the self-care aspect of our lives. We’re waking up and seeking connection.“People are feeling really unsettled, really scared, people aren’t feeling safe… And people are looking for ways to calm down… And connect… And feel a sense of belonging… We’ve always been very good at coping with our problems via drugs or alcohol or whatever a person’s vice is… But people are starting to wake up around the world to say, ‘There has to be a better way. I have to be able to take care of myself mentally, emotionally, spiritually in a different way.’” - Stephen SokolerStephen’s Message of Inspired EvolutionI’m amazed and inspired by the work Stephen has done up to this point and after our conversation, I can say I also value deeply the purpose of his mission. Finding strength

Evolutionary changes need a magnificent amount of time in order to be established. The swiftness of technological development means that throughout it, we’ve been relying on the same biological equipment. Jonathan has developed his super learning expertise around the idea of helping people adjust how they learn in order to optimize the learning process.“I spent a lot of time thinking about this hardware that I have, which is a miracle and a blessing but is outdated for the world that I’m living in. How do I come into alignment?” - Jonathan LeviImproving Memory by Adding a Sensory Component to LearningOur traditional approach to learning is not the optimal way to learn and throughout our conversation, Jonathan explains why. One of the three pillars of his approach to super learning is adding a sensory component to learning, primarily visual since it’s the most practical. The effectiveness of visual mnemonics in learning is something that’s been validated through scientific studies yet people rarely utilize them to their fullest potential.“How do I turn that learning into a visual and sensory experience? And once you do that you can do superhuman feats of memory. You use techniques like visual mnemonics techniques like the memory palace you can memorize literally anything!” - Jonathan LeviLearning by Creating Meaningful ConnectionsAs we continue to explore the rest of the fundamentals of super learning, Jonathan explains the importance of making meaningful connections between different pieces of information in order to improve retention and memory.“The way that our brains work is based on connection… You can fabricate those connections to anything that you learn. All human knowledge is connected… Even if it’s not, you can find new ways and unique ways of creating these connections as if.” - Jonathan LeviUsing Familiar Locations to Organize Your MemoryFinally, the third essential approach to improving your learning is relying on our brain’s capacity to easily memorize locations. This method is an incredibly useful tool for mnemonists everywhere which demands a lot of effort and practice but in terms of improving your memory, the returns are unbelievable. One particular technique also is known as using a “memory palace” has been portrayed in movies and television lots of times, for example in shows like BBC’s Sherlock or The Mentalist.“Because of that evolutionary design… we’re really good at memorizing locations… Mnemonists, at the highest level, hack this and they actually store their memory in what’s called a memory palace.” - Jonathan LeviThe Power of RepetitionTo rely upon an old Latin proverb, “Repetition is the mother of all learning. (Repetitio Est Mater Studiorum.)” The importance of repetition for efficient learning is something that has been well-known throughout human history, but Jonathan proposes additional guidelines for us to follow in order to truly get the most out of the process.“Our brains thrive on this frequency as well as nove

As we dissect their journey further we unpack the question of what makes aesthetic issues such strong motivators for changes in our behavior. We discuss the social aspect of the issue, explore the lengths we’re willing to go in order to preserve our appearance and contrast with how unmoved we are when facing some non-visible issues.“People, all the time, still put up with the bloating, still put up with not being able to go to the toilet, all these things… But I know that if they had acne and it cleared up they’d probably stop it.” - Sally GodfreyThe Beauty In Cooking for LoveEven though the last four years have been quite challenging, Jo and Sally have made sure that they’re spending enough time cooking and baking out of the office and bring joy to their families.“When you’re cooking for love, there’s nothing that we love more!” - Sally GodfreyFinding Energy In the Love You Recieve‘No Grainer’ has blossomed into a respectable brand and a beautiful business but it was never going to be an easy task. Jo and Sally open up about their doubts and moments of weakness they’ve experienced over the years. Even though they were ready to quit on numerous occasions, the love and kindness of their loving customers gave them the strength to keep pushing forward.“It was just so stressful, we had no idea! But we would get these letters… people would write… ‘your bread has changed my life’, ‘thank you so much’... and always when we were at the brink of, like, ‘Fuck this!’ - someone would come through.” - Jo GodfreyThe Transformation That Comes from Doing What You LoveI’m always blessed to hear stories of people stepping into their truth and the transformation they experience and go through consequently. Loving what you do is an essential component of leading a happy and healthy life. The Godfrey sisters talk about how their business inspired them to evolve and change for the better.“It has been absolutely massive. It has changed my life, in the most profound way! I feel like I’m a completely different person… I feel like I’m coming to a place where I’m finally bringing those two sides together and I couldn’t have done it without this business.” - Jo GodfreyTaking Care of the Business First So That You Can Inspire ChangeBeing driven to help other people is an inherently selfless approach. This is exactly why we tend to neglect and forget to take care of ourselves first. It seems rude to us and our values as if we were selling out and stepping away from our true purpose and path. But money is a tool more than anything else and we need to be able to sustain ourselves in order to protect our cause and those we’re trying to help. Helping yourself is the first step towards helping other people.“We often set goals and put expectations and when it doesn’t happen… you feel a bit disappointed… There’s that whole thing of ‘working on your business, not in your business’... And at the moment because our margins are incred

Our guest for this week is Gautam Khetrapal, an entrepreneur, trainer, transformational speaker and founder of “Life Plugin”.Use promo code INSPIRED for a 10% off the LifePlugin Summit Ticket.About GautamA little over 10 years ago, Gautam was going through a moment of personal crisis. He was convinced his best years were behind him even though he was just a young engineering student, barely getting started.Gautam’s transformational journey started around the time where he joined the youth organization AIESEC, where he came upon people that shared his interests and values. At AIESEC, Gautam found his tribe. It was his experience of working alongside young non-conformists that got him hooked on personal transformation. He was also able to define his interests further and started searching for answers to questions like what does it take to build a deeply connected tribe and how to make our learning and education an exciting adventure. In 2017, he founded “Life Plugin”, an organization with a goal to turn personal growth into a lifelong adventure. Their mission is to create the “Disneyland of Learning and Education” because they believe that learning needs to be fun and intrinsically motivating in order to help people create a successful and meaningful life.As an international speaker, he has held lectures and talks at stages all over the world, including places like Mindvalley, UNESCO, TEDx and Startup Investor Summit. From the start, we dive into the topic by defining it as a crucial advantage point which allowed us to rise, progress and prosper as a species.“Human beings are social animals. Our survival depends on our social bonding and social strength. As a species, we’re not the strongest. We’re not even the smartest species. The reason that makes human beings the most successful species on the planet is to do with that ability to collaborate and live together in community.” - Gautam KhetrapalThe Problem with Living Highly Individualistic LifestylesIn recent years and in Western culture in particular, there is a trend for people looking to actualize themselves as individuals seeking independence and self-sufficiency. According to Gautam, this approach is not an efficient way for personal growth because it directly clashes with and rejects the thing that makes us flourish.“We’re moving to cities and building highly independent lifestyles. But, the reality is, our success is not in our independence… it is in our interdependence.” - Gautam KhetrapalThe Currency of BelongingOne of the key concepts of Gautam’s teachings is his understanding of the currency of belonging. He has placed this idea at the very center of his companies system of values and in this section, we discuss all the potential of adding this “secret sauce” to your business strategy.“This currency of belonging is becoming the most valuable currency, the way I look at it. If we don’t capitalize on that information I don’t think we’re giving enough value to people. Because we need to go beyond just curating the best information for people. We need to bring people to with the same values, the same core belief system and just bring them together.” - Gautam KhetrapalWhat Is the Interdependence Principle? We’ve discussed interdependence on our podcast more than a few times. Here, we have a front-row seat where we get to listen to how Gautam shares and elaborates his relatable understanding of the underlying social mechanism of collaboration and mutual support.“Interdependence is having my close friends, growing myself, my family, every aspect of my life with a bunch of people where I can say I’m responsible for their growth and I can tell for sure they are responsible for mine.” - Gautam KhetrapalHow to Grow Through Deep ImmersionsGautam shares his thoughts on the three pillars of education which are self-education, learning from your tribe and education via deep immersions. The first two are very common and intuitive but Gautam sees deep immersions as something that will change how we educate ourselves in the years to come. Some forms of informal deep immersions occur spontaneously but if we are consciously aware of the benefits they provide we can learn to initiate them more often and truly utilize them for personal development.“Deep immersions are short-term events where your tribe comes together, who have the same interests… and dive deep into a shared area of interest.” - Gautam KhetrapalHow to Make ConnectionsSince our main topic was revolved around the benefits of connection, Gautam was

Ep 93IE093 Gahmya Drummond-Bey: Evolved Teaching: Teaching People to Find Their Mission (TED Talks Resident)
Our guest for this week is Gahmya Drummond-Bey, a global Instructional designer, education hacker, writer, and founder & CEO of ‘Evolved Teacher’. About GahmyaGahmya believes that learning should be a uniquely amazing experience, designed to inspire people to be, do and have more. She has spent 11 years traveling around the world teaching while also learning from some of the top educational systems around the world. Gahmya has redesigned learning programs and trained educators in over 20 countries, reaching the status of “celebrity teacher” in South Korea. In 2015, she founded ‘Evolved Teacher’ with a goal of empowering global communities to build an equitable educational system and also to create a digital platform that would provide primary students all over the world with equal access to quality education. Her approach is learner-centered, meaning those who are learning are at the core of the process. The role of the teachers is not only to guide but also to learn from the learners and further evolve their approach and educational philosophies. Gahmya has also just recently launched ‘KidYOUniversity’ which is a personal growth platform for kids. It features animated courses and challenges that nurture the genius and loving spirit within each child.Connect with Gahmya:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gahmyaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/evolvedteacher/?hl=enLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gahmya-drummond-bey-a1a46b88/Website: https://www.evolvedteacher.com/Gahmya’s Story of Inspired EvolutionEven though Gahmya has had major success working in the field of education, her own educational background is in chemistry, health care, and communications. She was drawn to education as she realized that it’s usually presented to us with the hope of achieving future value and success.“I had one of those moments that I think a lot of people have now… where you feel like you’re preparing for future value. You feel like you’re preparing for future success and I wanted to feel a value at that moment. I wanted to be useful and helpful at that moment.” - Gahmya Drummond-BeyGahmya went on to pursue a career path that would help her contribute to society in the present. She subsequently decided to join the Peace Corps and went to a country where she could help, teach and also learn an uncommon foreign language. She was assigned to go to Turkmenistan.“I felt a value every second. I could see people grow... Seeing someone who can’t communicate with you come back to you the next day and they’re expressing greetings and they can express themselves - it is powerful!” - Gahmya Drummond-BeyHer experiences from Turkmenistan inspired her to go to as many countries as she could. She wanted to learn directly from children and people of different cultures about their educational desires and needs so that she could guide them and help them improve further. In This Episode We Canvas:Following Your CuriosityWe’ve often talked about the importance of following our passions. It’s been absolutely proven time and time again that this approach can be immensely valuable for personal growth. However, Gahmya’s experience is that not everyone has a clear idea about what their greatest passion in life actually is. As an alternative, she proposes following your curiosity because it will allow you to contribute and add value while searching for answers to deeper and bigger questions.“We’ve been taught so often to follow our passions… Many of us do, whatever that means… As an educator, especially someone who works with teams a lot, I find that a bit problematic. So I don’t say ‘Find your purpose!’ I say ‘Find your curiosity and follow it!’” - Gahmya Drummond-BeyThe Importance of Asking QuestionsAs we try to solve and overcome life’s challenges we tend to overfocus on discovering the answers. But Gahmya points out that having the ability to ask the right questions is vastly more important in the long run. Focusing on finding the answer creates a shift in focusing on finding closure. But in life and learning we know that’s impossible. Focusing on the questions is a technique that will assure we are on the path of life-long learning and personal growth.“There’s such a big focus on finding the answer. But it’s not about having the answers it’s about having the questions. Questions take you everywhere you need to go.” - Gahmya Drummond-BeyGrowing by Focusing on How You Can Be of ServiceAside from following our passions and curiosities, we ought to be aware of finding ways of how we can be of service. Gahmya points out that aside from resonating with the desire to add value in the present, discovering ways in which you can serve can also propel you out of your comfort zone and test your limit.“I really feel like every issue in the world can be solved by each and every one of us. And if we focus more on what problem we can solve, how we can be of service, then we go beyond our boxes!” - Gahmya Drummond-BeyPutting Emphasis o

Ep 92IE092 Miroslav Petrovic: Public Speaking Mastery: Transform Fear to Inspiration - The 'Metafear' Revolution
Our guest for this week is Miroslav Petrovic, speaker, trainer, facilitator, and thought leader.About MiroslavMiroslav came to Australia as a refugee at the very young age of four. Throughout his youth, he struggled with a speech impediment where he would stutter whenever he tried to speak to a stranger or a person he didn’t feel connected to. Miroslav suffered from teasing and bullying which caused him to close himself off from the world even further, thus creating this neverending spiral. He found solace and peace in meditation. It allowed him to make a deeper connection with himself and people noticed the change. As time went on, people were more and more interested in his story, looking to learn what he has through the process of self-exploration.Through public speaking, Miroslav discovered a way of “active meditation”. He immersed himself fully into his gift and the more he perfected his crafts of speaking, teaching, and facilitating he kept opening up himself even more.He is known for his exploration of concepts such as Metafear as well as embodied speaking, teaching, and facilitating which we go through in much detail in our episode. Check out his TEDx talk on The Metafear Revolution here!Connect with Miroslav:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheMiroslavPetrovicLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/miroslav-petrovic-7bbb5474/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjiuBQU4G531OuclCtfVgAQ Website: http://www.miroslavp.com/In This Episode We Canvas:What Is Metafear?Miroslav breaks down the concept of Metafear and we dive straight into the pure essence of his teachings. Placing fear as the central concept for personal growth and development is an enchanting perspective to have and it’s already clear why people say that Miroslav’s talks, you’re able to hear a pin drop.“Metafear is essentially looking at fear as a gift that can transform who we are. And when we approach fear from this perspective, it stops being something we have to conquer or fight or win over, but it becomes an inspiration and a life source itself. And the only thing that’s really changing, in one aspect, is the way we’re relating to and approaching it.” - Miroslav PetrovicHow Do We Face Fear?We often have these predefined situations in our head that vaguely represent to us the notion of facing fear. But it’s not really important if “swimming with sharks or “base jumping” first comes to mind because, as Miroslav beautifully points out, that “it’s not about what it looks like it’s about what it feels like”. It’s about the emotional process that we establish in relation to fear and finding a way of letting it flow through you.“For me, it’s like, the small things… Like when you go for a dance and you can feel sometimes that your body is rigid and you’re dancing just to be like someone else. And then it’s like ‘How does my body want to express itself?’. And then you feel that sense of ‘Oh, that’s a bit vulnerable!’ To me, vulnerability is a sign that we’re embracing Metafear. It’s just about embracing the habitual patterns we have and then finding your way through them.” - Miroslav PetrovicWhy Do We Meditate?Miroslav’s understands that the purpose of meditation is preparational to an extent. In a way, it is a tool that allows us to prepare our body for the intense experiences about to come. To him, it’s about “noticing the resistance and then learning how to soften into it”. A really inspiring perspective on such a popular concept in the realm of personal growth and improvement.“For me, meditation is not the thing that you do with your eyes closed. That’s what it looks like from the outside. From the inside, it teaches you how to cultivate stillness, so things can move through you… And that for me is embodied presence. When we can let our minds and our emotions become still and we can use and move them through the body.” - Miroslav PetrovicStepping Into FearIn this part of our discussion, Miroslav explains what stepping into actually means for him. He elaborates on the relationship between embracing fear and inspiration. He shares that his personal experience came only recently in the past six months. This experience is, to an extent, often referred to in a religious context as stepping into the “divine realm” or even “facing God”. Miroslav however, provides an explanation that’s probably relatable to everyone.“When you step into fear… in my experience, it means you’re meeting the full potential of what you’re capable of. When you step into that realm, it’s like you’re so completely open to inspiration you yourself don’t know what’s coming next. It’s like inspiration overload!” - Miroslav PetrovicThe Power of Public SpeakingThere’s an element of poetic justice and beauty in the fact that an extremely introverted, 4-year old boy grows up to be an amazing public speaker. Miroslav feels indebted to the craft and feels that it has given him so much. He believes it’s a transformational opportunity like no other, for everyone. That

Ep 91IE091 Zachariah Fisher: Peace Guardians: A Visionary Quest for Global Harmony (KinFlow)
Our guest for this week is Zachariah Fisher, educator, visionary and founder of “Peace Guardians”.About ZachariahZachariah has always been drawn to mentorship and education. He recognizes that this desire to establish a connection through teaching and mentorship has followed him ever since he was a baby. His father tragically died in a helicopter accident when Zachariah was only 10 months old and he explains that is why he has always felt a gap in his heart. This yearning for connection and a “big brother” approach to teaching led him on a path of coaching youth sports. Ever since 2015, he’s been organizing educational, sporting and nature events for children. He realized he had found his calling and quit his corporate job in order to pursue his passion for inspiring youth around the world to follow their bliss.Later that year, he founded “Peace Guardians”, a holistic peace education movement that provides opportunities for children and youth to learn, grow and develop leadership skills. The organization was founded on the shared vision of certified youth educators, parents, community leaders, entrepreneurs and artists coming together to empower our future generations. Their mission is to provide world-class training, tools, and support for future leaders so they can become ambassadors of peace for themselves, their communities, and the world. They’re currently running a GoFundMe Campaign so if you want to contribute to youth development feel free to check out their page here!Zachariah has also invented a sport called KinFlow which fuses mindfulness and fitness. It inspires collaboration, develops teamwork skills and it’s an ideal activity for young, developing minds.Connect with Zachariah:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SpiritDanceLA?ref=br_rsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/zachariahfisher/Website: https://peaceguardians.org/In This Episode We Canvas:Making a "Choiceless Choice"We ease into our conversation by going over Zachariah’s shift from living the corporate life in sales to discovering his purpose in educating children. When you make out what your life’s calling is, you will inevitably be drawn to it in a natural way, both organic and energetic. To an extent, deciding to follow your one true passion in life a “choiceless choice” which also has elements of “taking the leap” and “letting go”.“When something becomes a very clear signal that’s undeniable, your entire being is moving in that direction, then you have to follow that! To create a life around that! To me… first, it was like, hope and then it became faith and then it became trust and then it became knowing.” - Zachariah FisherReexamining Your Mindset to Overcome ChallengesRecalling the words of Einstein on the relationship between problem-solving and mindset, Zachariah exposes one of the underlying mechanisms of personal progress.“My way, is it bringing me fulfillment? Is it bringing me happiness? Is it uplifting others around me? And if the answer is no, then it’s really, going back to the drawing board and erasing the drawing board. Unwinding and unlearning… The keywords here are humility, vulnerability, listening, surrender, action.” - Zachariah FisherWhy Are Children Our Best Teachers?Zachariah opens up to us about one of the most rewarding aspects of working with and educating children. Children are constant reminders of how we need to approach exploring the world around us. We dive deep into the values of non-linear, divergent thinking and organic learning.“Children are the teachers for me. For me in particular, they’re really my guru in many ways. Because they move about the world organically, through play… Even Einstein had thought experiments, those non-linear thought forms that just pierce through the veil of linear thinking so it does require just a real, open mind of wonder, curiosity, and awe.” - Zachariah FisherThe Universal Nature of CreativityCan people truly be uncreative? We’ve all had that discussion and I’m sure you’ve met someone claiming that they don’t have a creative bone in their body. Zachariah argues that creativity an innate capacity embedded in all of humanity. Some might forget they have the gift but a part of the journey is figuring out the things that actually bring our creative potential to the surface.“We are all born creative. We’ve come out and we’re just natural explorers… We all have our own unique curiosities and gifts. One of the reasons why I’m passionate about working with children is because you have a real opportunity in those formidable years to have them feel confidence and anchor in that creativity for their lifetime.” - Zachariah FisherThe Relationship Between Play and FlowWe started discussing flow and it was a very humbling experience to find how much Zachariah enjoyed our episode with Steven Kotler. As a fan of flow, Zachariah explains why he thinks it can and should be one of the focal points of discussion when we’re considering the education of our children.“I’m so fascinated by flow…

Ep 90IE090 Kaitlin and Cassidy Murray: Youth Power: Leading the Charge for a Hopeful Future (Kids Unite 4 Hope)
Our guests for this week are Kaitlin and Cassidy Murray, humanitarians, activists, speakers, and founders of the non-profit organization “Kids Unite 4 Hope”.About Kaitlin and CassidyKaitlin and Cassidy are sisters and have been traveling with their family ever since they were kids. On their travels, they’ve developed an amazing bond which is the foundation for most of the work they are doing today. They have visited over 90 countries, exploring and learning by interacting with people from different cultures and listening to their stories. In 2015, they’ve founded a non-profit called “Kids Unite 4 Hope” as a way of reaching out and helping Syrian refugees. Through volunteering, advocacy, inspiration, and friendship they aim to transform the world and help to empower youth to harness their energy and passion to become dynamic global changemakers. Kaitlin and Cassidy have traveled and shared stories of their journey across the United States, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, England, Estonia, and Myanmar.Over the years they’ve created numerous campaigns such as Hope 4 Refugees, Global Girls Unite, and Heal Our Planet to name a few. Their headquarters are in Athens, Greece and they’re always looking for activists and volunteers to join their cause. If you’re interested in contributing, feel free to connect with them using the links below!Connect with Kaitlin and Cassidy:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kidsunite4hopeInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/kidsunite4hope/Twitter: https://twitter.com/kidsunite4hope Website: https://kidsunite4hope.org/In This Episode We Canvas:Everyone Can Contribute to Changing the WorldIt’s fascinating to see how Kaitlin’s and Cassidy’s proactive attitude is directly reflected in their organization’s vision and mission. Understanding that you actually can make a difference is an amazing foundation to have if you truly want and intend to do good.“Everyone can make a difference, no one is left out. Everyone can change the world in their own way wherever they are, through whatever cause they’re passionate about.” - Cassidy MurrayThe Advantages of Youth ActivismAs we go through the stories of their humanitarian work with refugees, they provide us with both insight and examples of why youth activism is so important. The relationship that we’re establishing with our teachers shapes the education process and we’re more likely to connect with our peers because we’re joined by the things we have in common.“We realized we ended up helping the kids more than the actual teachers that came in before us because we were so connected with the youth and because they had fun learning. And they had that emotion attached to that learning so it just stuck in their brains and they loved it!” - Cassidy MurrayEnabling Empowered EducationThe approach Kaitlin and Cassidy are using is based on empowerment. Through some amazing stories about encouraging other youths to express and go after their hopes and dreams, we learn first hand about its importance and educational value.“They told us their story. And so we got to, almost, help them process it and they got to tell us and share their emotions with us and although it was hard sometimes I think it was also helpful because from there they could say ‘That was my past and now I’m going to build this amazing future!’... We started enabling that a bit and that was amazing! I think that’s a big part of education - it’s the empowerment!” - Kaitlin MurrayAspiring Towards Life-Long LearningKaitlin and Cassidy have traveled to over 90 countries which is a heroic achievement in itself. But the true inspiration comes from the way they acquire and absorb knowledge through interacting with people coming from different backgrounds and cultures. Their self-made curriculum is truly something to consider in our efforts to establish a practice of life-long learning.“You don’t have to just have your standard education… You can learn your entire life and keep on learning from different people. Because there are all these opportunities to learn something more in your life.” - Cassidy MurrayProtecting Yourself from Emotional BurnoutHumanitarian work is inspiring and fulfilling but can get quite overwhelming at times. Both Kaitlin and Cassidy have experienced dips in energy after lengthy periods of volunteering and have drawn lessons from it in order to prevent emotional burnout. It’s all about filling our cup first and their story is an absolutely perfect example.“We went to that point where we had to step away. And so we had to take our time, just be with ourselves and we went through a lot… We weren’t giving our time taking that time to self-care and replenish our energy. So now we do that… I meditate all the time, just to clear that energy.” - Kaitlin MurrayBreaking Stereotypes In Your CommunityWorking with people from other cultures is going to make you more sensitive to the potential stereotypes related to a particular group of people or culture. But the wonderful stories

Ep 89IE089 Amy O’Meara: Crafting a Life Meant Living: The Art of Personal Transformation
Our guest for this week is Amy O’Meara, life coach, educator, author, and CEO of “Life Meant International”.About AmyAround 7 years ago, Amy had gone through some significant changes in her life. A bad break up, followed by some of her closest friends moving away had left her feeling lost and alone. Having lost her support system, Amy went on to explore the ideas of self-growth and self-development. It was in November 2013 when she came upon a Ted Talk by Ian Usher where she first learned about the idea of “selling your life for a new one”.In the midst of trying to discover the life she was meant to live, her own personal brand was born. By founding Life Meant, Amy took on a mission to make a change in the world by empowering the lives of women and children across the globe. Six years after, Amy has traveled to 25 countries, taught and lived internationally, and become an internationally recognized educator, trainer, and speaker. She also published a self-help book called “Letters to a J.E.R.K.”. A collection of practical advice and personal experiences, Amy aims to empower women all over the world and how to let go of fear and self-doubt. It is a guide that will show you how to identify difficult emotions, process them, and transform yourself to live your Life Meant.Connect with Amy:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lifemeant/Twitter: https://twitter.com/lifemeant Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amy_lifemeant/Website: https://www.lifemeant.com/In This Episode We Canvas:Starting SomewhereAt the beginning of our conversation, Amy reveals details about how exactly her transformation went down. What caused it, the context, how she came up with the inspiration to change… But ultimately we get down to one of the key tips residing in her message. The encouragement to dive into action even if you don’t feel like you have everything figured out.“Even if you don’t know a lot... just start somewhere! You don’t have to know everything about diving deep into the core of who you are.” - Amy O’MearaFree Range EducationWe talked about some of the founding principles of the free-range education theory. Amy developed an inclination for this modern approach while she was teaching abroad. She fell in love with the idea because it allowed her to “dream big” and reconceptualize her role as an educator.“It really shifted who I was as an educator which dove me deep into the personal growth, coaching… That’s when I started becoming a coach and said, ‘Okay, how can I use coaching language with children?’ This is an amazing gift because I’m their guide and facilitator, I’m not their dictator! - Amy O’MearaUsing Coaching Language to Educate ChildrenAmy noticed in her teaching sessions with young children that they were actually bogged down by the same insecurities and challenges we would usually connect with the situations of adults. She recognized the notion of “I’m not enough” in children as young as nine! It was this discovery that eventually inspired her to add coaching language to her approach of educating children. All with a clear goal in mind - to encourage the development of emotional intelligence.“We’re developing their EQ and we need to really pay close attention to the word choice that we’re using. And that’s why I’ve developed that coaching language with the kids because when we are using coaching language we’re holding space for them to grow. Grow emotionally.” - Amy O’MearaThe Value of Being Able to Trust YourselfWe go all-in on the concept of trust and Amy’s philosophy is so empowering because she is guiding back to focus on the way we treat ourselves. The relationship we have with ourselves. By doing so, she reminds us that power is always within ourselves and subliminally encourages us to take action.“When we dive into trust and communication one of the things that we have to be very careful of is the lies we tell ourselves… Trust starts with you. Trust of yourself is the very first key. If you can’t trust yourself, how are you going to show up in a relationship and be trusting of other people?” - Amy O’MearaThe 4 Steps of Making a Relationship Agreement with YourselfAmy shares her teachings on making a relationship agreement with yourself. She was inspired by a scene from a very popular TV show and you’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out more because there’s no way we’ll be spoiling that one here!Anyway… Her idea is founded on 4 basic steps that each of us should define and understand prior to opening ourselves to a new relationship.“It starts with your non-negotiables.” - Amy O’MearaThe first step concerns things that we are not ready to step away from. These lie at the core of our values and represent our “line in the sand”.“The second part is self-love.” - Amy O’MearaOnce we’ve defined our non-negotiables, we can then move on to explore the relationship that we have with ourselves. What kind of self-talk are we using? Are we treating ourselves positively and if not, why? Are we taking active s

Their marketing goals are ambitious, which is understandable as they are trying to change the world! Jason gives us an insight into the approach Mindvalley uses to increase the reach of their message and make relevant partnerships and business connections.“In the personal growth industry, there are two things that you want to look for. How impactful, structured, authentic amazing is what that person is delivering and second is how many people are they reaching? The fact is, we want to reach a billion lives so we look for people that already have audiences that are already attracted to the personal growth movement and we want to combine as much of this industry together so we can become one big platform that changes lives.” - Jason CampbellThe Role Purpose Plays in Personal DevelopmentWe explore the concept of purpose, highlighting its value and contribution to personal development. Jason proposes an elegant analogy to describe the true purpose of purpose.“The purpose kind of seems like setting your north star, right? But the point isn’t to get to that star, it’s to sail the sea.” - Jason CampbellIs Repetition of Themes Good for the Personal Growth Movement?Since joining Mindvalley, Jason has been constantly surrounded by thought leaders in the personal growth industry. Having done over 40 in-depth interviews with some of the most renowned experts from this field, he started picking up patterns in their narrative. He realized that certain themes are repeated and that there are certain similarities between seemingly different schools of thought. Still, he understands that this is not an anomaly but rather a necessity that works in favor of those trying to learn, grow, and evolve.“I think that repetition IS necessary… Everybody has a different way of trying to achieve the same thing and that’s OK because everybody resonates with a different thing... Once you’ve found something that resonated with you… do something about it. And then if you feel stuck, go back and listen to someone saying probably the same thing in a different way and maybe that’s what you need to hear.” - Jason CampbellSales as an Expression of LoveWe’ve mentioned before that Jason really, really loves to sell and in this conversation, you will hear just why that is. He’s spent a lot of time honing his craft by taking in concepts from the personal growth industry and refining his personal theory of sales. Jason offers a new way for us to interpret the selling process, one that is built around the potential for doing good.“When I say ‘selling from love’ I say, first off, let’s take away the charge of sales. I say sales is an energy exchange... You will offer something in exchange for money but there’s another piece of currency that goes into it which is the emotion, the vibration. And for those who love incorporating business and spirituality, this is where it becomes beautiful. ” - Jason CampbellThe Essential Components of Selling from LoveIn his inspired model of selling from love, Jason goes over 3 key principles which will help you reinvent yourself in how you approach selling your product or service. The first one is self-love.“You’ve got to be very strong about who you are, what you stand for, and then, when you do that, you’ll understand that you’ve aligned yourself with something to sell that you truly believe in.” - Jason CampbellThe second principle highlights the importance of perfecting your product.“I encourage people to adapt is ‘If the product doesn’t fit the needs, fix the product.’” - Jason CampbellFinally, he sums up the last principle in three simple wo

Personal lives and family time are always one of the first aspects of an entrepreneur’s life that suffer whenever a company is going through a challenging period.“It’s very often, when you’re scaling, your family life gets into trouble… You’re tired, you’re overworked and you bring all of that drama to your family.” - Daniel Marcos The ‘Freedom Paradox’ of Entrepreneurship Based on the insights from his coaching career, Daniel suggests that one of the main reasons why people prefer running their own business is because it gives them more freedom. Paradoxically enough, in real-life cases, Daniel argues that the process of building a company goes directly against that notion.“When you ask any entrepreneur why are they building a company… you always come to one word - freedom. Usually, when you build a company, the one thing that you lose the most is freedom.” - Daniel MarcosThe Benefits of Basing Your Business Strategy on DataIn this section of our conversation, Daniel provides arguments and explains why basing your company strategy on data is essential for the success of any business. We explore all the ways in which your company benefits from utilizing a data-driven approach.“Whenever you have data and you produce data in your company, you cannot hide from data. Data tells you the truth!” - Daniel Marcos How to Give Negative FeedbackThe role of every CEO requires the ability to provide their staff with information and instructions on what needs to be improved or done differently. Daniel shares his thoughts on what you should and shouldn’t do when providing others with negative feedback.“You attack the outcome or the situation, you don’t attack the person.” - Daniel MarcosThe Key Stages of Company GrowthAs we explore the topic of scaling up further, Daniel proposes a 4-stage model for analyzing and understanding the different growth periods of any company.“I call them the Startup, the Grow up, the Scale-up and then you Dominate your industry.” - Daniel MarcosThe Ideal Role Every CEO Should Strive TowardsThe role of the CEO changes over time and we go a little deeper into what that role should look like at the fourth and final stage of company development.“The role in the last stage… You become like a satellite around your organization and the day-to-day runs without you… You come as the strategic innovator, change catalyst, and chief of culture.” - Daniel MarcosThe Importance of Having the Right TeamAs we near the end of our conversation, Daniel takes us into the 4 most important decisions every CEO needs to make. The key element you need to establish before scaling your business is to assemble the right team of professionals that will help your business grow.“If you don’t have the right team, it’s impossible to scale your company. You can have all the money in the world, you can have the best strategy… If you don’t have the right team - nothing works!” - Daniel MarcosWhy Drops in Revenue are a Symptom, Not a SicknessIn terms of developing a business, Daniel considers “cash” to be a great source of data which indicates whether or not you’ve made the right decisions along the way. If you’ve made any mistakes in the previous steps, they will surely be reflected in your revenue and profits.“Cash is a symptom. Cash is not a sickness… Cash is not a problem. Cash is a reflection of your problems.” - Daniel MarcosDaniel’s Message of Inspired Evo

Even when he was working with US Olympic athletes and coaches who were at the very peak of their field, he realized there was little to no room for fulfillment in their definitions of success.“When are we going to start talking about success as fulfillment? It’s just not a thing. It’s very rare.” - Skip KellyWhat Does It Mean to Be a Fulfillionaire?Skip has discovered a term that sums up his current point of interest he wishes to invest his energy into. The term ‘fulfillionaire’ is an awesome way to describe what we should all strive towards becoming. It highlights both the importance of fulfillment for living a healthy life while also establishing a financial connotation.“I think the core part of ‘fulfillionaire’ and why I think that title is appropriate is it alludes to ‘millionaire, billionaire…’ and how important money is to a fulfilling life. It’s not so much about rolling in hundreds but it is about not having real problems. Real problems being: shelter, food, safety…” - Skip KellyShould We Seek Happiness or Fulfillment? We went on to explore the relationship between happiness and fulfillment and Skip shares his thoughts on the key distinctions between seeking happiness and fulfillment. He used to think of himself to be a great supporter of having happiness as the main goal in life. But he recently shifted towards fulfillment as he found it to be more valuable and he explains why.“Happiness comes from acceptance but growth comes from change. If you can just accept where you are, you’ll be happy… You can be happy in any circumstance. The question is ‘are you fulfilled by just being happy?’” - Skip KellyFinding Your Purpose In Your Existential StrugglesSkip shares with us a great mind experiment which has a purpose to provide us with insight into what’s truly important to us; what really moves us. By examining the existential struggles you’ve faced in your life, you can dig around to find the real jewels which are the things that move and inspire you most in life. The key to living a fulfilled life is to choose to spend your time engaging in activities that fulfill you.“It’s kind of like a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ success game.” - Skip KellyThe Value of Identifying with Characters in StoriesAnother strategy for discovering what we truly value in life is to pay attention to what makes us identify with characters in stories. Whether we’re consuming them through movies, books or video games, stories provide us with a context where characters get to depict behaviors, attitudes, and values. If they align with our own values, then we’re more likely to identify with those characters over others. Skip sees this as an opportunity to both recognize and remind ourselves of what we hold in high regard in life.“The more you can appreciate these characters in life the more you can start to realize what inspires you and who you want to show up as on a day to day basis.” - Skip KellyHow to Fight LonelinessSkip draws from his own experiences in dealing with loneliness. He recognizes that being simply surrounded by other people will not help you feel less lonely because the feeling isn’t simply caused

Ep 85IE085 Abdulazez Dukhan: Lens of Hope: The World Through Refuge Eyes
Our guest for this week is Abdulazez Dukhan, a digital artist, photographer, humanitarian, and creator of the ‘Through Refugee Eyes’ project.About AbdulazezAbdulazez grew up in Syria and was only 12 years old when the civil war started. Three years after, his family was forced to leave their home in search of safety and peace. He first traveled to Turkey. Abdulazez started learning about Photoshop and digital art through tutorials on YouTube, which is also how he started learning English. But as time went by, the situation and the conditions for the refugees were becoming more and more difficult. In January of 2016, he moved to a refugee camp in Greece. It is in Greece where he fully embraced the path of an artist. He received his first camera as a gift from one of the volunteers he collaborated with and he’s been involved with photography ever since. In April 2016, he started an independent photography project called “Through Refugee Eyes” with a goal of providing Syrian refugees with a voice. He noticed that the media was spinning stories in order to portray the people who are fleeing war as hopeless, dangerous and ignorant. He realized that he needed to act upon this injustice and start documenting what truly happened inside refugee camps. To this day, Abdulazez is hoping to spread the word about the true adversities people who are fleeing their war-torn homes are faced with every day. He is looking to share the message of respect, appreciation, and collaboration, hoping we can build a better future together, for everyone.Abdulazez recently shared his story at the Mindvalley University in Croatia, 2019. You can check out his full talk here!Connect with Abdulazez:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AbdulazezDukhanInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/abdulazez_dukhan/Website: https://azyeux.com/Abdulazez’s Story of Inspired EvolutionAbdulazez was only 12 when the protests in Syria started. These demonstrations grew out of the Arab Spring movement and they were sparked by an incident when several boys were arrested for writing the words “Freedom” on their school walls. These boys were around the same age as Abdulazez at the time.Their arrest was supposed to be a strong message made by the Syrian government. Even though the stance of the general public was clear and everyone could feel the injustice, no apology was made. The government stood by the decision and their lack of remorse fueled the will of the people to stand and speak up.“No human being is right all the time. Some of my ideas aren’t perfect, some of yours aren’t perfect. Nobody is perfect!” - Abdulazez DukhanAt the time, Abdulazez was still in primary school. But instead of worrying about homework, he had to think about whether or not he is going to get home from school safe and sound. We don’t often hear in the news about how the revolution looked in the early stages and Abdulazez recalls some of the memories from that period of his life. He remembers people shouting at those who were tasked with bringing down the demonstrations that “they are one and that there was no need for violence.”“You can see a lot of footage where people were walking on the streets with olive branches.” - Abdulazez DukhanThe domestic media started spinning stories in the news in order to portray the protests as acts of terror. As the situation became increasingly difficult, to a point when Abdulazez and his family had no choice but to seek safety away from their home.“Giving up on your country is a hard thing to do. You only give up as a last resort.” - Abdulazez DukhanThe first country he went to was Turkey and it was there where he started learning about digital art by watching tutorials on YouTube. He spontaneously started learning English in order to be able to explore new techniques.Later on, he migrated to Greece and the move came with a completely new set of adversities. While staying at a refugee camp along with thousands of people, he got a camera as a gift from one of the volunteers. He’s been a photographer ever since, acquiring knowledge about the art form in any way he can.“The knowledge I have today came from many photographers coming from all over the world.” - Abdulazez DukhanHe currently resides in Belgium, still doing anything he can to break the stigma about Syrian refugees promoted in the media and provide them with a voice. In This Episode We Canvas:Adapting to Extraordinary CircumstancesAbdulazez reflects on how adaptation was the number one tool that helped him handle adverse situations. He faced new challenges each day but he realized he had to take an active approach and try to make the most out of difficult conditions.“We had hope. I had lots of hope but I knew hope won’t change my situation. I had to move. I had to do something. - Abdulazez DukhanHelping Others In Adverse SituationsThrough adaptation, we can benefit others and not just ourselves. Abdulazez experienced this first hand. Even though his English wasn’t perfect, he did

Ep 84IE084 Panache Desai: Self-Love: You Are Enough (Discover Your True Self-Worth)
Our guest for this week is Panache Desai, a spiritual thought leader, teacher of life mastery and personal development, vibrational catalyst, author and inspirational speaker.About PanachePanache grew up in East London in a very spiritual family. As he grew older, he distanced from this atmosphere of prayer and worship in order to explore new things. At one point in his life, he was an MC working his way through clubs all across London. But in his last year of University, a series of events urged him to go back to his roots and recall the principles he was thought as a child. He moved to New York in 2001 in an effort to open himself up to the world. On his travels, he met and learned from many prominent spiritual teachers and leaders. After a couple of years, in a moment of epiphany, Panache accepted love as his purpose and began a new life. A life of service, with a goal of spreading the message of love, purpose, and acceptance. Ever since, he has traveled the globe, meeting new people, evoking and sharing divine energy. On the list of his memorable appearances in the media is an interview with Oprah Winfrey on the Emmy-award winning show Super Soul Sunday.Panache works with people all over the world and shares his teachings, tools and real-world techniques to help them achieve inner peace, a sense of fulfillment and purpose, and create a clear vision of their most authentic self.In 2014, Panache released a book titled “Discovering Your Soul Signature” in an effort to invite people to change the energy that surrounds them and discover their life’s purpose. The underlying premise is that life provides us with boundless possibilities. Through the course of 33 days, by following the guidelines and going through each carefully crafted and positioned section at the right time, you will rediscover your purpose and live a life of authenticity. Panache offers his unique understanding by pointing out different societal limitations we experience throughout our lives and the effects they have on our mental well-being and view on life. Through social conditioning, we somehow form a belief that we are not enough.“The problem with that is you think, on some level, that there’s something wrong with you. Because we’re living our lives from the outside in instead of from the inside out.” - Panache DesaiThe Untold Story of Mainstream SuccessWe reflect briefly on the notion of “success” in terms of how the general public perceives it. Panache shares thoughts and insights from the lives of his friends and clients to highlight the fact that when we try to define “success” we usually tend to not use the appropriate or relevant metrics. We need to evaluate success in alignment with what is truly important for us in life. “The only definition of success that works for me is peace.” - Panache DesaiUnderstanding Limitations by Analyzing Original DesignWe slide into the next topic which acts as an introduction to the question of finding our purpose. Panache describes the setting of the traditional education system and demonstrates a witty technique to deduce why the majority of the people is not feeling comfortable and in flow within a limited school setting. The system was made with another purpose in mind.“As soon as you start to understand what the intention of the design is, you can begin to figure out what the inherent limitations are in that system.” - Panache DesaiDehumanizing Social DynamicsExploring the causes of broad unhappiness and dissatisfaction further drives our discussion forward. Panache shares his thoughts on why he thinks current social dynamics are responsible for the fact we feel dehumanized. He strengthens his arguments by recalling examples from the medical industry.“Our humanity is being systematically drummed out of us. It’s not OK to have an original thought, it’s not OK to feel, it’s not OK to express uniquely and if you do, you’ll be judged, you’ll be shamed and you’ll be very quickly put back into whatever box they can put you back inside of to be able to control and manipulate you.” - Panache De

Dr. Heer shares that the defense mechanisms we use as ways to handle judgment are warping the way we perceive the world around us and subsequently, the way we act. As much as it’s a way for us to protect ourselves, it can also make us miss out on the good stuff as well.“You put up a brick wall around you, and it keeps out everything.” - Dr. Dain HeerHow Are We Absorbing Other People’s Points of View?Dr. Heer suggests that we should all consider the origins of our values and our points of view. He goes on to describe how our worldviews are shaped from a very early age by absorbing the points of view of our parents. This dynamic continues to occur throughout our life in different forms but Dr. Heer makes a very deep revelation regarding as to why this phenomenon actually occurs.“The thing most people don’t realize is, most of the points of view that we’ve picked up from other people are actually energetic. It’s the energy that they live their lives from that we’ve picked up on because we’re so highly aware energetically.” - Dr. Dain HeerRethinking the Concept of Personal DevelopmentWe touch on both the popularity of personal development and the way it has been received in the public. Dr. Heer believes there is a common misconception related to our understandings of personal development. He argues that seeing it as a tool for overcoming problems is very limiting and that we stand to gain more if we acknowledge everything that the process of personal development truly has to offer.“Whether we call it ‘personal development’ or ‘consciousness’, or whatever term you want to put on it… It’s actually about exploring the possibilities beyond the box of this reality and having the ability to create them.” - Dr. Dain HeerThe Root Cause of Leading ‘Heavy’ LivesFeeling stressed, strained, pressured, burdened, anxious and depressed are all components that contribute to the sensation of living a heavy life. And Dr. Heer uses a simple experiment to demonstrate how self-talk plays an important role in all of this. Another interesting point he makes is that, even though we’ve incorporated these stories and ways of thinking into our everyday lives from the outside world, it’s still important to acknowledge that we’re the ones causing ourselves pain. We’re the ones causing the heavy.“Notice how many of us tell ourselves these stories continuously. We’re doing that shit to ourselves!... You’ve bought a lot of lies that keep running in your head, that you keep telling yourself and this is when we need to be willing to have a different perspective and use some of these tools to change this stuff.” - Dr. Dain HeerUnderstanding That We Are Infinite BeingsDr. Heer aims to answer the question of what do we mean when we say we’re infinite beings and how does that understanding actually help our personal development. “Somewhere, we know that we’re more than we’re letting ourselves be.” - Dr. Dain HeerReframing Points of View You Don’t Agree WithYet again, judgment is one of the key elements of our conversation and in this section, Dr. Heer explains why it is t

Yet, the twist occurred some years later when he decided to visit America and acquire a doctoral scholarship. In 1980, he got his Ph.D. from the Columbia Business School in the field of Marketing. But he was already very successful in the field since Dr. Rao had worked as an executive at Warner Communications several years prior. His big break came when he worked on an advertising strategy for a blockbuster movie which is to this day on the list of top 50 grossing movies of all time. The movie in question was the world-wide phenomenon, ‘The Exorcist’ released in 1973.His career was skyrocketing but he felt restrained and put down by corporate politics. He decided to shift towards academia and teaching. But some time after joining the University of New York, Dr. Rao started questioning his decision.“Basically, I stagnated. And there was a time when I woke up feeling very sorry for myself and I had this great corporate career and I threw it away.” - Dr. Srikumar RaoDr. Rao relied heavily on reading about spiritual subjects in order to find his inspiration but he was always confused by the fact that these teachings weren’t working for him in the real world. He knew these insights were valuable but he just needed to figure out a way of how to apply and make use of them.“One day I had my bright idea which was ‘Why don’t I take the teachings of the worlds, great masters, strip them of religious, cultural and other connotations, and adapt them into exercises acceptable to the diligent people in the post-industrial society.’ And the thought of doing that made me come alive!” - Dr. Srikumar RaoHis desire to create a course wasn’t driven by the needs of the market. He prepared the course because he felt he needed to do it for himself. After some adjustments and a couple of iterations, Dr. Rao created what we know today as ‘Creativity and Personal Mastery’ course. In This Conversation We Canvas:The Pursuit of HappinessDr. Rao postulates that our principal desire is to be happy in some shape or form. We go over the dynamics that create the underlying anxiety, depression and overall unhappiness in today’s society. Dr. Rao realizes that the model which we use to conceptualize happiness is broken and suggests a perception change.“We are unhappy because we’ve spent our entire life learning to be unhappy. And the way we learn to be unhappy is by buying into the “if-then” model and the model is broken.” - Dr. Srikumar RaoThe ‘Sense of Control’ ParadoxDr. Rao reflects on our need to control the world around us and points out the paradoxical nature of our attempts to attain it. He also describes how we can use this paradox to our advantage.“The more you accept that you don’t have control and you let go of your need to have control, paradoxically, that’s when you find that you have the greatest control.” - Dr. Srikumar RaoShould Mental Models be True or Useful? We use different models to understand the world around us. But rather than fo

Ep 80IE080 Steven Kotler: Future of Leadership: Flow States, Peak Performance & High-Empathy (Altered States of Consciousness) (Flow Research Collective)
Our guest for this week is Steven Kotler, a best-selling author, award-winning journalist, and entrepreneur.Steven is a leading expert on ultimate performance and the state of flow. He co-founded the Flow Genome Project in order to answer questions such as the relationship between flow and creativity, flow and business success, as well as to explore altered states of consciousness and their effect on human performance. Other organizations he has founded are Creating Equilibrium, a conference dedicated to solving critical environmental challenges, and Rancho de Chihuahua, a hospice care dog sanctuary in the mountains of Northern New Mexico he co-founded with his wife Joy.Steven is also a renowned, best-selling author with 2 Pulitzer Prize nominations to his work on “Stealing Fire” and “A Small, Furry Prayer”. His latest book called “Last Tango In Cyberspace” is a brilliantly well-researched novel which explores the future we may be living in just 5 years from now. The book is inspired by cutting edge technology which is still exclusively available in modern labs across the world. His predictions are based on years of researching the frontiers of neuroscience, psychology, psychopharmacology, and ecology, with a special appreciation for the progress of animal rights. Using this Sci-Fi setting, Steven dives into topics such as the evolution of empathy, the nature of consciousness, and our definition of “life.” Connect with Steven:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KotlerSteven/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxbLU30FsQmr-Ikxu6VrTAgInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/kotler.steven/Twitter: https://twitter.com/steven_kotlerWebsite: https://www.stevenkotler.com/What Will Our World Look Like 5 Years From Now?Steven has always been fascinated by technological advancements and he’s heavily invested in studying the forefronts of cutting-edge tech. He recognizes that the future will not come one new tech at a time but as a combination of complementary discoveries which will completely reshape the world we live in. He wrote “Last Tango in Cyberspace” in order to try and visualize what that world might look like 5 years from now, based on his insights into the technology available in some of the best labs and research centers in the world.Even though most people view his book as futuristic, Steven firmly states that he was very conservative about what went into the book and steered away from making speculations and statements he wasn’t clear about. He also sees that the reason why making these types of predictions is extremely difficult is that rapid technological advancements have affected our ability to analyze and extrapolate about our progress:“We can’t look back 5 years and go: “Well, what was happening 5 years ago? I can use that to make a prediction.” Because it’s accelerating so quickly.” - Steven KotlerThe future tech works as a well-researched context in the “Last Tango In Cyberspace” but the book actually deals with questions related to humanity and one of the key messages emerging regards the notion of empathy. Throughout our conversation, you can see that Steven is very excited about connection and the interconnectedness of the world that we’re living in. He puts empathy at the core of our humane values but the idea he calls “empathy for all” concerns not only empathy towards and among humans but animals, plants, ecosystems… He sees that the only way we can move forward when facing some of the biggest challenges of today’s world is that we base our efforts on empathy.“We have the technology to meet these challenges… What we don’t have is the cooperation.” - Steven KotlerThe Future of AI“What’s getting a lot of attention lately is: “Holly crap an AI is going to wake up and kill us all!”... But that’s not the point… It doesn’t matter. Because we’re not going to be able to tell if it’s awake or not.” - Steven KotlerWe proceed to explore the current use of AI technology and what we can expect from advancements in that field in the near future. We go over some of the applications of AI in human therapy and psychological consultation. Steven goes on to describe the Ellie military project. Ellie is a virtual AI therapist that is designed to help detect PTSD symptoms in war veterans and Steven had a chance to test it out personally. Another platform that we’ve discussed is Xiaoice, a Microsoft bot based on emotional computing framework. These bots are a great example which demonstrates how quickly the AI is advancing, especially when interacting with humans directly. However, there’s another interesting observation to be made here and which is that AI has already started influencing how we make major decisions in life, the effects of which will drastically increase in the near future.“Some couple was going to break up and stayed together because of Xiaoice and I’ll bet they have a baby. Which is, to say, that the first AI-inspired baby is probably already in existence and that’s a little weird!

Ep 79IE079 Jamie Wheal: Unleash Your Mind's Power: Flow States, Peak Performance & Beyond (Altered States of Consciousness) (Flow Genome Project)
Our guest for this week is Jamie Wheal, an expert on peak performance, the co-founder and executive director of the Flow Genome Project and co-author of “Stealing Fire”.Jamie’s background is an amalgamation of expeditionary education, wilderness medicine, and surf rescue. He has over a decade of experience advising high-growth companies on strategy, execution, and leadership. His client list is a who’s who of top corporate executives including the owners of NFL, NBA, MLB, and Premier League teams, executives of Google, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, Cisco. Jamie has also worked with the U.S. Naval War College and Special Operations Command and advised the athletes of Red Bull on the topic of peak performance. In 2015, he co-founded the Flow Genome Project and he is leading an international team of world’s renowned scientists, athletes and artists with a goal of mapping the genome of peak performance state also known as Flow. Their vision is rooted in “taking a rigorous, multidisciplinary and supremely practical approach to the science and research of peak-performance.” As self-described “flow hackers” the end goal of the Flow Genom Project is to use this research to help more people level up in their actual lives.Along with Steven Kotler, Jamie co-authored the global bestseller titled “Stealing Fire: Silicon Valley, Navy SEALs and Maverick Scientists are Revolutionizing the Way We Live”. In it, they explore the many ways how the world’s most successful people use altered states in order to unlock peak performance.Connect with Jamie:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamie-wheal-887212a/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jamiewhealpage/Website: https://www.flowgenomeproject.com/Altered States vs NOSCsIn order to further clarify the topic of Jamie’s studies, we start off our conversation by making a clear distinction between altered states of conscious and NOSCs which stands for ‘Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness’. This is a much more appropriate and precise term originally coined by Dr. Stan Grof. These states are one of the topics in Jamie’s book ‘Stealing Fire’ and they can be meditative, contemplative, states brought on by smart technology, psychedelic, sexual, athletic, kinetic or artistic. “Basically all the positive non-ordinary states you can think of that seem to share an awful lot underneath the hood of the mechanism of action. What’s happening in our bodies and brains to get us there.” - Jamie WhealMonophasic vs Polyphasic CultureWe dive further and deeper into the exploration of these non-ordinary states and Jamie makes yet another key distinction which helps us understand this problematic from a historical perspective. On the point of recognizing and appreciating different states of consciousness, we differentiate between monophasic and polyphasic culture. Polyphasic culture accepts different channels of consciousness, while later, during the age of enlightenment in the 18th century, mainstream ideas shifted towards the monophasic culture, focusing exclusively on the basic sensory input, an approach that gave birth to the idea of the rational self-aware waking self. Jamie points out that this shift has left a significant mark on our society and he argues that there’s a good chance this idea of being closed off to different channels of consciousness is causing all sorts of contemporary “diseases of despair”, which include anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc. He sees the solution in determining and accepting a post-conventional polyphasic culture in order to utilize these non-ordinary states of consciousness in order to both maximize our peak performance and “bring our collective project forward”.Ways of Reaching Peak Performances “You take breathing, respiration, movement, music, sexuality and then skillful use of substances and you can combine them and stack them in ways that can provide really profound peak experiences.” - Jamie WhealJamie proceeds to explore each of these methods of evoking non-ordinary states of consciousness how it can help you achieve peak performance. From controlled breathing to patterns of skilfull movement to listening to compelling music to harnessing the neurochemistry of the conscious sexuality all in the service of accelerated human development. He proceeds to explore a vast amount of intriguing cases and studies regarding the potentials of sexuality in particular, one being the comparison between the resemblance in the ways MDMA and orgasm affect our brain chemistry and neurophysiology. The way he envisions the purpose of these practices is essentially a reset of the nervous system in order to preserve and improve mental and physical health.“Can we actually defrag on a regular basis so that we stay current so that we stay resilient and we can actually face life with as much as resourcefulness as possible?” - Jamie WhealGroup Flow (i.e. Communitas)We step away from the individual and focus more on the collective in this part of our conversation. Jamie elaborates on the

Mine is no better than anybody else’s… When I was a young kid I went through some pretty intensive sexual abuse and that really, sort of… screwed my mind up quite a bit.” - Benjamin J HarveyBenjamin is very open about his childhood traumas of being a victim of sexual abuse. These incidents have made a devastating mark on his psyche, one he has fought throughout his youth. By the age of 20, he was regularly visiting psychiatrists and psychologists, seeking help to try and recollect his fragmented mind. His struggles culminated with him being admitted into a psychiatric ward. The experience itself was traumatic but the stigma of mental illness is so strong that he cites feeling an enormous amount of shame and guilt at that time, related to being held in a mental institution and diagnosed as bipolar with a borderline personality disorder.“Everyone’s wanting to live their love and to do what they love, but they don’t realize that what they truly love in life… has been given value by the traumas and the experiences they’ve been through.” - Benjamin J HarveyFor the next 5 and a half years of his life, Benjamin was severely medicated and struggling all-round. The real push and a defining moment that inspired the change came through a tragic event. One of his best friends from school had committed suicide and the news shook Benjamin to his very core. In the aftermath, he decided that he needed to take control of his own life and to take matters into his own hands. He gradually got off his medication all the while educating himself on meditation and personal transformation. The results of his efforts were astounding, embodied in the fact that he has been medication-free since 2002.“When I finally got on track and started doing what I love it was the most remarkable thing. My brain was no longer sending me feedback. It no longer had to tell me that I’m not on purpose.” - Benjamin J HarveyBenjamin discovered his love in the form of educating and coaching. He now shares his story without being riddled with shame and guilt but rather uses it as a tool to inspire and motivate others. He remembers he felt like the horrible things that happened to him were unique and that he was the only person struggling. By sharing his story, Benjamin is also making sure people who are suffering get a very important message - that they’re not alone. The Complex Nature of Purpose“It’s important that people realize that purpose is many things. Your purpose can be your love of swimming while you also enjoy your 1-on-1 coaching, but you also love reading a book… those many things will come in a hierarchy and you’ll work out that hierarchy eventually.” - Benjamin J HarveyBenjamin has a very compelling version of how the process of finding our purpose actually works. He proposes the idea that our mind has a unique way of showing us what we’re born to do. Benjamin continues to infer that if we’re doing what we love our mind can relax. These activities that, as he puts it, “silence the mind”, are responding and in line with our values which means that by doing them we’re actually fulfilling our purpose. Through all of this, we can understand that he is offering a new take on the idea of “purpose” by making it synonymous

Ep 77IE077 Dr. Rupert Sheldrake: Morphic Resonance: Quantum Biology Revealed (The Science of Spirituality)
Our guest for this week is Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, a biologist, an international best-selling author, and the creator of the Morphic Resonance Hypothesis.Dr. Rupert Sheldrake got his doctorate at the University of Cambridge in the field of biochemistry but has also studied philosophy and history at Harvard as part of his Frank Knox Fellowship. From then on he went to work as a Principal Plant Physiologist and Consultant Physiologist in India, at the Botany Department of the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He later engaged with extensive experimental research, studying unexplained subjects including telepathy and cases of peculiar animal behavior. He's credited with co-discovery of the mechanism of polar auxin transport but he’s probably the most well-known aspect of his work is the Morphic Resonance Hypothesis, which posits that “memory is inherent in nature” and we discuss it much further in the podcast. Some have labeled him “controversial” as he is speaking out about the many dogmas riddling the modern scientific approach and offers alternative views, which encompass many aspects of spiritual knowledge as well. You can find more on his thoughts about scientific dogmas in his book “The Science Delusion” also known by the title “Science Set Free” in the US.In 2017 he released the book titled “Science and Spiritual Practices” which is one of the main topics of our conversation. In it, he explores the recent scientific studies that have confirmed the connection between spiritual practices on one hand and happiness and well-being on the other.Connect with Dr. Sheldrake:Website: https://www.sheldrake.org/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/RupertSheldrakePhDFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/RupertSheldrakeThe Science Delusion“Well, basically the Science Delusion is the belief that science already understands the nature of reality, in principle, leaving only the details to be filled in.” - Dr. Rupert SheldrakeWe dive deep into our discussion starting off with his criticism of modern science and its approach. Dr. Sheldrake argues that scientific dogmas are so deeply integrated into our education which and are largely represented by the philosophy of mechanistic materialism, making it a default starting point for most graduates. The idea that nature and all of its subsequent products operate like a machine, made out of specific parts and compartments with a clear and distinct function. Dr. Sheldrake recognizes this as a metaphor that has seeped into and taken over the scientific narrative. He proposes a different metaphor which he believes is a more apt description of our world.“It’s actually much more appropriate to think of nature as an organism, as alive. The whole universe is like a developing organism. It starts small with the Big Bang, a bit like the hatching of the cosmic egg. It’s been growing and expanding ever since.” - Dr. Rupert SheldrakeAnother scientific dogma that he points towards is the notion that purposeless of nature which is one of the products of the “machine metaphor”. He finds this worldview particularly depressing because it leads people on the path of secluding themselves from different aspects of life which they label as pointless, like for instance spiritual practices which is something that we’ve discussed later on.Scientific Research of Spiritual Practices“Generally speaking feeling connected and linked to something greater than one’s self makes people happy.” - Dr. Rupert Sheldrake Just a small disclaimer here. If you haven’t realized so far, Dr. Sheldrake’s is an experienced scientist with an impressively broad educational background. This description would need to be verbatim in order to truly give it justice. I urge you to listen to the podcast in order to get the full impression of our conversation as it’s intended. In this section of our conversation, Dr. Sheldrake connects the notion of a higher consciousness present in all religions and elaborates the data which shows that religious and spiritual practices are connected with higher levels of happiness, health, and overall well-being. He cleverly acknowledges that the so-called “new atheists” have not been immune to the effectiveness of these practices which is why many of their more popular representatives are getting involved with yoga and meditation. He also acknowledges atheistic intepretations of spiritual practices and the physiological changes they cause. As a response, he questions whether these interpretations are a valid argument for suggesting that these experiences are nothing but changes in the chemical release of the brain. However, he is very optimistic that we’re in for an era of amazing discoveries in the field of spirituality.“I think that we’re actually on the threshold of a new phase in spiritual evolution because it’s possible to do these practices within religious traditions and also on the scientific front, who prefers that. So this is a completely new situation that we’re in.” - Dr. Rupert SheldrakeMorp

Ep 76IE076 Tyler Tolman: on Mastering Self-Healing Through Fasting & Detox (Heal Thy Self)
Our guest for this week is Tyler Tolman, a world-renowned speaker, facilitator, author, health revolutionist and founder of Heal Thy Self.Tyler has been exploring the rules of healthy lifestyles ever since his early teenage years when he used to help his father organize a retreat on his 200-acre farm for the first time. These retreats were being held for people who are in desperate need of learning how to take care of their body. His father’s philosophy resonated with the visitors and Tyler was able to witness these profound changes first hand. From then on, he went to study and discover some of the basic principles of health and wellbeing. Diving deep into the wisdom of Greek philosophers, famous scientists, and ancient Egyptians, Tyler yearned to attain a diverse educational background in an attempt to develop a holistic idea of what it means to live a healthy life. His realization is that living healthy is a simple idea, intuitive to most of us, yet modern culture has brought us up in a way that we’ve lost track of the truth. With years of experience in researching how to live a disease-free life, Tyler is determined to spread the ideas and the principles that have been taught for over thousands of years which will help you improve your physical, emotional and mental health.Tyler organizes events, retreats, offers online programs and has authored several ebooks, all of which you can check out by visiting his website! He has also developed his own brand of self-care tools, products, and resources called “Heal Thy Self”. With it, he offers a range of products that facilitate detox and improve your nourishment.Connect with Tyler:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TylerTolmanTT/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tylertolmantt/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/TylerTolmanTTWebsite: https://www.tylertolman.com/Tyler’s Story of Inspired EvolutionTyler reminisces about his childhood. He remembers how he never felt like he fit into the traditional mindset of Western society. He grew up dealing with feelings of being suppressed and unloved. But around the time he was 13, he got an opportunity to go and stay with his father at his 200-acre farm in Salem, Missouri. His father organized retreats for people who were dealing with disease and offered his philosophy as well as communal support for those looking to improve their health. It was then and there when everything changed for Tyler. He witnessed the effects of leading a healthy lifestyle and was shocked yet very intrigued.“I saw people from sick to totally… mindset of ‘I’m going to die’, to color back in their skin and feeling alive and ‘Holy shit! I believe I can heal myself.’ ” - Tyler TolmanHe went back to his old life in Washington after that but quickly realized that he was becoming more and more “sick” himself. He was smoking, eating junk food and slowly getting into drugs. He felt disassociated from the world but he now knew that there was a different life somewhere out there possible. Calling out to him and waiting for him. With suicidal thoughts roaming through his mind, Tyler realized he needed to make a choice.“I either go dedicate my life to this way of living and my father and helping people or… I don’t want to be here, basically.” - Tyler TolmanFrom then on he went deep into researching the basic principles of health and wellbeing, relying on scientific research and combining it with ancient philosophies and traditional wisdom. His path has led him to a place where he is today - a man looking to share information about attaining health through natural means and empowering his audience to heal themselves. The Simplicity of Living a Healthy Life“So many people are looking to… ‘Oh I need the magic thing… I need the pill, I need the herb, I need the sacred food from the freaking deep well of the Himalayas to be healthy’. It’s like - NO!” - Tyler Tolman Tyler keeps bringing us back to how simple living healthy actually is. However, he acknowledges that simplicity does not imply that the process will be easy. Our culture seems to have derailed and stunted our growth in the fields of physical, emotional, and mental health. We’re often scared into doing things that are clearly damaging our health while the excessive anxiety keeps pushing us towards self-destructive behavioral patterns. Tyler points out that his suggestions for a healthier life were cross-culturally present at all points of humanity’s history with the foundation being laid in walking and drinking clear water. We should be building on this notion by adding nutritious foods such as fruits and vegetables, rounding it all up with a healthy mindset.“Intuitively, we all know what’s good for us. Eat fruits and vegetables, go for a walk, drink water, don’t be a dickhead… the basic stuff… But because it’s simple we just overlook it.” - Tyler TolmanThe Intricacies of Detoxification and Fasting“The truth is we’re all detoxing all the time.” - Tyler TolmanAt one point in the conversation, Tyler pro

Still, Sam was not immune to wanting to fit in, which nudged him towards hanging out with the wrong crowd and eventually resulted in him getting expelled from school. He never went back to the traditional educational system but he worked his way up to an Australian Federal Government job. Things were looking up. But in October of 2006, Sam experienced a defining moment in his life.“My defining moment came in the form of a car accident.” - Sam CawthornSam was driving one night and he suddenly fell asleep at the wheel. He veered to the other side of the road and ended up crashing full speed into a semi-trailer truck. Sam was clinically dead for 3 minutes before thankfully being resuscitated. Having lived to tell the tale, the car accident has left its mark on him both physically and mentally.“The bottom line is that something had changed. Not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally and then spiritually.” - Sam CawthornHe lost his most dominant arm just above the elbow and his right leg was destroyed beyond repair, or so the medical staff thought at that point. Sam recalls his strenuous rehabilitation period but remembers no anxiety, depression or feeling of inconsolable despair. His thoughts went into a different direction and instead, he focused on what he could do that would be best for his children.“I wanted to make sure that I could be a great father to my kids… I wanted to make sure that I can make them proud. That they didn’t just grow up with a disabled father.” - Sam CawthornSam became a motivational speaker, a force that moves others that need moving and he uses his profound insight into dealing and overcoming adversity to inspire millions. One recognition after another, he keeps on spreading his influence and thinking up new ways to brighten up people’s lives and give them the courage to show their story. The Power of Proximity“There’s now undisputed evidence... that we are the average of our 5 closest friends. The company that we keep determines who we are. - Sam CawthornIf you’ve ever listened to one of Sam’s lectures, you’re probably familiar with the phrase “proximity is power”. The idea behind the phrase being, the people we are closely connected to and in who we are in contact regularly will have a pr
