Job was wrong in thinking that God could possibly allow bad things to happen to him as a punishment for his past. In fact, the suffering he went through was because God knew he was strong enough to go through it. Pastor JD explains to us the great need to grasp this lesson. We must take to heart that God's ways are always for the overall best.

We must understand that fellow Christians can come under the oppression of the enemy. As such, when we are in our hardships we must test the words of our fellow Christians advice with God's Word. Pastor JD reminds us that regularly speaking with Jesus and being in His Word is how we can know if others are speaking truth to us.

When we are in times of trial we must have faith that God has a reason for it. He cannot make His reason apparent to us, for if He does we will likely miss out on the actual lesson He intends. Pastor JD assures us that God is with us in all trials and that God allows our trials for a reason. We must have faith that the hardships we endure are for the best.

If we find ourselves in a point of despair God will not hold it against us. In fact some of the challenges which He will allow throughout our lives, He will allow knowing their outcome will result in despair. Pastor JD teaches us though, that we are expected to continue in our faith despite it. We are to use despair as means to build our faith more.

Pastor JD encourages us to keep our eyes on the Lord even in the worst of times. With Jesus we can get through anything and will ultimately find the most holy of ending. An eternity with Him.

Jobs wife told him to “curse God and die”. Pastor JD teaches us, that though this was in fact a plea from a loving wife trying to end her husbands suffering, it was also sinful. Those of us in wedlock must be certain to place God first always. If we don't, we risk asking the wrong thing of our spouses even though it was done with the best of intentions.

No matter how hard a trial we go through in life may be, we can rest assured that it is a trial which God has allowed. Pastor JD tells us that this means that God is with us in all trials and that as such, we are capable of overcoming them all. Not only that, but it is likely that we will come out as stronger and better people who have learned to trust God more. 

Our response to suffering reveals much about our heart attitude. Do we feel wronged, angry, or as if an injustice has been done toward us? Job’s response to immense loss is one of humility and worship, as we’ll learn from Pastor JD today. Job understood that all he had, including his own life, was a gift from God, and we would do well to do the same.

We can take heart from the example of Job because it shows Satan can only do to God’s children what God allows. And what He allows will only be permitted if it is ultimately for our good and His glory, as we’ll hear from Pastor JD today. If you’re in the middle of a really hard time, find comfort in God’s sovereignty and His protection over you.

Pastor JD has been busy traveling, meeting and communing with brothers and sisters in Christ, and spending time in Israel, and he's here today to share his adventures with you! No one ever signs up to go through suffering. As Pastor JD begins teaching from the book of Job, he explains that if we understood why we were experiencing suffering, we’d lean on and trust in that understanding instead of God. When you don’t know the answer to your suffering, be ready for God to supply a peace only He can give.

We see it as a “got to,” versus a “get to.” To talk directly with The Lord through prayer, is a privilege!
