Pastor JD explains to us that when they saw Job suffering they could not believe he was being put through such pain for no reason. Surely he had deserved it all somehow. The economy has picked up, the overall picture of the future looks good, there is a lot to be thankful for. Perhaps things are eerily TOO good? Even after logical discussion, Jobs friends were unwilling to consider that their religious rational could be wrong. They continued to claim that Job was being punished because of something he had done. Pastor JD teaches us how dangerous it is for us to become locked on religious doctrine. We must remember to seek Jesus and not legalism.

We must be certain that the things which we do and say are done so with a heart of love. Pastor JD reminds us today that it's possible to speak a truth with the wrong heart. It's when this happens that people often get hurt. To be more like Christ, we must learn to differentiate between speaking prideful and loving truths.

We know he has a strong desire to be THE president who brokered peace in the middle east. Jobs friends insisted that his failure to admit his sin was why God punished him. Pastor JD teaches us that Job responded by asking them why he would continue suffering if admitting his sin was all that was needed to end it. Jobs friends looked to God as one who punished the bad, but not the good. We learn today, the dangers of such thinking.

 We mustn't allow pride to enter our hearts. Even if we are the best follower of Christ we must be certain that our accomplishments are given to Him. Pastor JD warns us that pride in ourselves will ultimately lead towards cruelty towards others, and a disregard for Jesus's grace. Approach all successes with a heart of humility and thanksgiving.

His greatest concern was that he had somehow lost God's love. Pastor JD teaches us that this is what we should all aspire towards. A deep longing to please our God, and make Him proud.

It's important for us to understand that we will never be able to grasp the ways of God. He functions on a timeline we cannot realize with a strategy which we will never be able to fathom. All people, whether they're good or bad, will experience good things. When they do it is a gift from God. Pastor JD teaches us that God does not exclusively bless good deeds with good blessings. In fact we may find, that like Job, if we are faithful to God we will earn ourself a harsh trial which will not feel like a good thing at all.

President Trump's recent decision to QUICKLY to remove all of our troops from Syria is a truly AMAZING turn of events! Could it be that this is the first phase in the “Big Deal” that Trump has been talking about? We know that peace in the middle east is our president's greatest goal. That said, we know that this is not going to happen...peace in the middle east will only come when Jesus returns.
