Mark helps lead celebrate recovery at Cornerstone church in Harrisonburg on Thursday nights. Mark was born in Indiana. Mark‘s dad was a pastor and when Mark was three years old his family answered a call to Mennonite voluntary service so their family moved to the Watts area of Los Angeles. About three years after moving to Los Angeles his family then move to Amarillo, Texas to help with a church plant. After 10 years in Texas Mark’s family move to Richmond, Virginia. After Mark graduated from high school he attended Eastern Mennonite University. After college Mark moved back to Richmond before eventually coming back to the valley. This was the 26th time that we had taken the retreat down to North Carolina from church of the Nazarene in Harrisonburg. Grayson will be talking to Pastor Adrian about the topic of lead on and why that topic for this year’s men’s retreat. We talk with Clayton Justice who spoke during session 1 of the men’s retreat on obedience and the importance of that for leaders. We talk with Pastor Jared Link who spoke in session 2 on the topic of humility and being a humble leader. Lastly we talk with Pastor Billy Logan who spoke in session 3 of the men’s retreat on courage and the importance of having courage as a leader. Judy‘s mom was not able to support her and her three siblings so her and her brother were sent to live at the Salem Baptist children’s home and other two siblings were adopted. Judy lived there most of her childhood. She did go back to live with her mom and stepdad for a little bit and then went to live with her dad in Florida for her junior and senior year of high school before moving back to Virginia. Judy came to the valley in 2005 and has lived here ever since. One of the places where Lenora found hope and healing was continuing to serve in children's ministry with the four and five year old's at church.
