Jarren Dyson is a men’s basketball assistant coach at Army West Point. Prior to Army he helped Christopher Newport University win the D3 National Championship in 2023 as an assistant to Head Coach John Krikorian. Dyson previously spent 5 seasons at Lafayette College as an assistant where he served as the program's recruiting coordinator and was involved in player development.Before joining the staff at Lafayette, Dyson had his first stint at Christopher Newport University where helped lead the team to back-to-back conference championships and a run to the program's first-ever Final Four appearance in 2016. The Captains recorded a 99-19 record and three conference championships during his first tenure. Prior to his time with the Captains, Dyson was an assistant at Tabb High School for two years, leading the Tigers to the state quarterfinals both years. As a student-athlete at Emory & Henry, Dyson started all four years, serving as a team captain for his final two seasons. He remains fourth all-time in assists at his alma mater and was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player following the 2009-10 season. Kent Washington made history by becoming the first American to play professional basketball behind the Iron Curtain. In his memoir, Kentomania, he recounts his journey from grade school, when he was known as Peanut, to become the first Black American to play professionally in the top league in Poland.Kent began to tap into his talent as a basketball player in junior and senior high school in New Rochelle, New York. His obsessive work ethic started to pay dividends as he elevated his game and became a college player at Southampton College in Long Island. During a basketball tour of communist Poland with his team in May 1976, Kent took the country by storm and became an overnight sensation.After finishing his education, he returned to Poland under contract to play professionally. The Polish press dubbed his popularity “Kentomania,” and fans lined the sidewalks hoping to get into a game to see him play – and to get his autograph.Kent’s athletic and cultural journey is unique as shares insights on his life behind the Iron Curtain. Brooks Miller is the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Trine University where he led the Thunder to the 2024 Division 3 National Championship finishing with a record of 29-4. Miller has compiled an overall record of 226-116 at Trine in his 13 seasons as head coach.Prior to arriving at Trine, Miller worked as an assistant men's basketball coach for three Hall of Fame coaches that amassed seven National Championships throughout their careers. Miller began his collegiate coaching career working for Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Hall of Fame Coach Ed Douma (one National Championship) whom he previously played for at Hillsdale College. In 2007, his career took him to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where he served as a graduate assistant coach to Naismith Hall of Fame Coach Bob Knight (three National Championships). In 2009, he became the Head Assistant Men’s Basketball coach and National Recruiting Coordinator at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas for Junior College Hall of Fame Coach Steve Green (three National Championships). Miller's started his collegiate playing career at the University of Toledo finished at Hillsdale College. At Hillsdale in 2003, Miller was selected team captain, Academic All-Conference, and team "Defensive Player of the Year." Brittney McNamara is the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Midview High School in the state of Ohio. She took over the Midview program in 2021 and led the Middies to the state Final Four in 2023.She previously served as the Head Coach at Berea-Midpark High School for two seasons. Prior to her first head coaching job with the Titans, McNamara was a varsity assistant coach for four seasons at Trinity High School. She began her coaching career as the junior varsity coach with Mayfield High School in 2014.McNamara is also active on the AAU circuit where Brittney’s father, Kevin, runs the successful AAU program MAC Basketball in northeast Ohio.McNamara was a two-time All-Ohio standout and the 2013 Lorain County Player of the Year while a student at Elyria Catholic. The Panthers basketball team made it to the OHSAA Final Four during her sophomore year. Colin Tabb just completed his 9th season as the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Western New England University. Tabb guided the Golden Bears to their first ever Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship game appearance in 2022-2023 and a second place regular season finish in 23-24. Tabb came to Western New England from the business world where he served as the president and owner of BasketBull, LLC, since 2003. BasketBull is a basketball event-management company, an official licensee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, that develops, promotes, organizes and operates grassroots events, camps, tournaments, clinics and skills academies throughout the Northeast. Tabb previously served as an assistant on the men's basketball coaching staffs at Brandeis University (2005-08) and Rhode Island College (2003-04) for four seasons. As a player Tabb starred for Trinity College from 1999-2002, leading the program to a 51-20 overall record, a 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship appearance and a pair of New England Small School Athletic Conference tournament runner-up finishes. His best season came during his senior campaign when he poured in a school record 619 points on the way to becoming the program's first player selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America First Team. After he graduated from Trinity in 2002 he played two years of professional basketball in Ireland and Germany.Tabb was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in August 2015. Jim Harrick was the head men’s basketball coach at UCLA, Pepperdine University, the University of Rhode Island and the University of Georgia over a combined total of 23 seasons. During the 1994–1995 season, he led UCLA to the school's eleventh national championship, its first since the 1974–75 season.Harrick's coaching career began at Morningside High School in Inglewood, California where he served as an assistant coach from 1964 to 1969 and as head coach from 1970 to 1973. He was then hired as an assistant coach at Utah State University from 1974 to 1977. Next, Harrick spent two seasons as an assistant coach at UCLA from 1978 to 1979. His first collegiate head coaching job was at Pepperdine University in 1979, where he led the school to four NCAA tournament appearances and was named conference coach of the year four times.In 1988, he returned to UCLA as head coach where won the 1995 National Championship with the Bruins. His time at UCLA was followed by head coaching stints at Rhode Island from 1997-1999 and Georgia from 199-2003. Harrick returned to the bench as an assistant coach at California State University, Northridge from 2018-2021. Anthony Medina is the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. He was hired in the summer of 2015 and is the second head coach in the history of the current program, having succeeded his former coach, Todd Smith.Medina previously served as a graduate assistant for Missouri Western State University’s men’s basketball team. Following his graduation from MWSU, Medina served as a varsity assistant coach at Oak Ridge High School. He is the owner and director of Medina Basketball, a youth basketball program in Houston.A standout basketball player during his career St. Thomas, Medina twice earned All-Red River Athletic Conference accolades and shot 40 percent from 3-point range for his collegiate career. Erik Olson is the Head Coach of the Ho Chi Minh City Wings in the Vietnam Basketball Association. He has traveled the globe coaching in Denmark, Sweden, Scotland, Iceland, and Australia. After finishing his collegiate playing career at D3 Linfield University Erik played professionally in the UK, Germany, and Australia. Chris McHugh is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Washington and Lee University men's basketball program. The Generals have posted a 99-49 overall record during his tenure.McHugh was previously an assistant coach at Emory University. During his four years with the Eagles, the program registered an 80-31 overall record and made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2013-2014.Prior to coaching with the Eagles, McHugh was an assistant coach at Connecticut College during the 2012-13 season and an assistant at Mount Saint Mary College from 2009-2012. McHugh graduated from Washington and Lee in 2009 and was a four-year letterwinner at guard for the Generals men’s basketball program. He played in 101 games with 72 starts, leading the team in assists his junior and senior seasons. Kelly Flynn built a girls basketball dynasty at South Sioux City, ruling Class B for more than a decade, winning 11 state championships – 10 in the 11 years from 1995 to 2005. The Cardinals finished second in 1999. Flynn coached at South Sioux City for 27 years, piling up 508 career wins and 17 state tournament appearances. The Cardinals were nationally ranked for eight years, earning a No. 1 ranking in USA Today in 2001. Flynn was named national Coach of the Year in 2012 and was a national Coach of the Year runner-up in 2003. He coached in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-American Game in 2003 in Atlanta and the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2005 in Indiana.Flynn finished his career at Fremont High School where he guided the Tigers to 98 wins and the school’s first Class A championship in 2022.
