Red Root's Effects on the Blood | John Slattery

Today's episode is audio from a class that herbalist John Slattery taught on red root. The audio is a little bit funky, but there's a lot of great info so we wanted to publish it. In this recording from 2020, his class was out in the field, and post-plant meditation, they have a discussion about Ceanothus fendleri, the southwest species of red root. John teaches about the plant quite a bit, too. If you enjoy John's teachings, you're going to want to check out his two upcoming classes. Plant Spirit Apprenticeship

Today's episode I let you know about an upcoming Plant Spirit Apprenticeship with Jean Schneider from Nativa Medica. LEARN MORE AND REGISTER January 2 - April 4, 2023 Why work with plant spirit? This is not the same as working with plant medicine, constituent medicine. Working with teas and tinctures for health is usually very far removed from working with plant spirit. You are using a plant, not working with a plant. When the plants know and trust you, they will do incredible things. One plant will help you to move through a place unnoticed, another helps you find your way home. One offers protection from certain difficult spirits, another plant reveals what is hidden. Plants that can open up our senses and psyche, while we are in relationship with them, can do incredible healing work. This relational work is not about ingesting constituents of plants/trees, it requires something more of us. LEARN MORE AND REGISTER Thanks for listening! Myrrh Mini Monograph - Tooth and Gum Health & a Bit More | Heather Irvine

Today's episode is all about myrrh! With frequent HerbRally contributor, Heather Irvine. Heather has a fantastic new audio project that you should know about! It's called "Sound Wise about Medicinal Plants". LISTEN HERE Heather was super on board with the HerbRally Podcast and audio monographs right from the start. We were both looking for herbal learning to listen to while multitasking and before HerbRally weren't finding many resources, "just a few dry audiobooks about antioxidants written by and read by robots", says Heather. Obviously, things have come a long way with better audiobooks and great herbal podcasts. But Heather has started her own audio-lesson learning catalog: Sound Wise About Medicinal Plants She adds to it almost daily, with rich half-hour to 45-minute audio lessons on medicinal plants, some for a small access fee, and most are still free! You'll want to check it out soon though and subscribe to one of the free soundcasts, or check out a more specific topic too. How Kelsey Barrett was introduced to the healing world of plants

Kelsey Barrett shares the origins of how she became an herbalist. She was inspired by the teachings of the great flower essence practitioner Julia Graves after taking a class with her in New York City. Kelsey mentions a specific flower essence she took to help with a childhood trauma she experienced. Have you heard of the Land of Verse? In a nutshell, it's a live online herb school, with a strong emphasis on EXPERIENTIAL learning. These experiences help facilitate connection and wholeness, and it's a missing component to a lot of online herb schools. My friend Kelsey Barrett is the Director of Herbal Education at Verse. Any time she gets involved with a project, I know it's goin' to be good. LEARN MORE AND REGISTER If you're looking for an online herbalism apprenticeship, I highly recommend looking into this one!
