53. Wendy May: The Essence of Purpose

What is purpose? How can we reframe our relationship to purpose to be as dynamic as life itself? Can honoring death be as much a part of our purpose work as building?I'm excited to share this alive, spontaneous conversation with the author of my favorite text on the topic of purpose, Wendy May. Throughout my life, the idea of purpose has always felt both exciting and daunting. When I first read Wendy's book, Regenerative Purpose, in 2021, it was simultaneously affirming, nourishing, and challenging. Most importantly, it's helped me shift to a more compassionate and exciting view of purpose. We discussed the topics of what regenerative purpose means and feels like to Wendy, the process of writing the book, and how she's living out her own teaching now - over three years since it was first published. We also explored Wendy's move to Thailand, where she currently resides, her thoughts on purpose as wave-making rather than empire-building, and the idea of stewardship. Here’s Wendy’s bio:Wendy May is a purpose coach and purpose activist. She is the pioneering author of “Regenerative Purpose,” which offers a radical reframe of purpose as dynamic and relational, rather than fixed and personal. After leaving behind a successful corporate career, Wendy now facilitates others in the process of deep purpose alignment, so that we can create a world of work that works for everyone.Purchase her book, Regenerative Purpose, here. You can also connect with Wendy through her website, Substack, and Instagram. I also mentioned Wendy's conversation with Sabrina Monarch, which you can find here. 50. Diana Rose Harper: Contemplating The Astrology of 2023

What questions are most relevant to us in 2023, given its astrology? How do we come into right relationship with astrological insights about the future? What do we need to consider when crafting intentions and resolutions for the coming year?I'm giddy with excitement to share this conversation with my mentor Diana Rose Harper. Diana's approach to astrology is poetic and expansive, while also visceral and thought-provoking. It feels like a true gift to share our conversation about the major astrological transits of 2023 (spoiler alert: there are quite a few!).We discussed the topics of how to approach astrological transits as well as New Year resolutions and intentions, what health entails, and honoring our humanity, while also understanding our place in the greater web of life.We also explored the astrology of 2023 by way of its seismic signatures: Mars and Mercury retrogrades at the start of the year, Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius, the nodes shifting into Aries-Libra axis, Mercury retrogrades in earth signs, and Venus retrograde in Leo. Trigger warning: We discussed food, diet culture, and school trauma as pertains to feelings of not-enoughness. We also used tons of strong language here. Here’s Diana’s bio:Diana is an astrologer, tarot reader, energy worker, writer, and educator, with a history of being a bodyworker & rare books research assistant. Diana Rose has written quite a bit for HausWitch’s community page, served as one half of the Rosebud Tarot, contributed an article on the ethics of astrological prediction to WIRED, and has been featured in many podcasts from The Astrology Podcast to Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness. Three times, she’s been a lecturer at NORWAC.You can connect with Diana through her website, Patreon, IG, Twitter. Enrollment is currently open until March 8th for Diana's offering on Saturn, Our Lady of Time.We also mentioned some resources & people you may want to check out:Gary Caton Hermetica TriptychaBarbarella movieThe Astrology Podcast’s 2023 Year Ahead Forecast, of which Diana is a contributorAri FelixChris BrennanAustin CoppockSign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. Combining astrology, tarot, the Akashic & Cosmic Body perspectives, and guidance from my sacred ancestors, healing guides and my own spirit, I hope these messages will serve you as you walk your path. This week, Mars will finally station direct in Gemini. 48. Visions of Pluto in Aquarius with Verena Borell

What might Pluto's seismic shift into Aquarius bring into our psyche, our lives, and the collective? What regenerative visions are available for our transformations? What is the textures, shape, and taste of the challenges that may await us?My guest in conversation today is the brilliant evolutionary astrologer and my dear friend, Verena Borell. We discussed and evoked the archetype of Pluto in Aquarius, which will slowly emerge starting March 2023. We mused on the slow, intense transit of Pluto in Aquarius, its role as the bridge between Pluto in Capricorn and Pluto in Aquarius, and the transformation on both the personal and collective we may witness and birth in the coming years. We hope to support you in gaining greater clarity and awareness to discover the expansive potential of this upcoming transit. You may also want to watch the video version of this transmission on Verena's YouTube channel. Here’s Verena’s bio:Verena Borell lives and works as an evolutionary astrologer, healer, and translator for cosmic energies in Villach, Austria. To expand and deepen the wisdom school of evolutionary astrology, Verena enriches it with a dash of archetypal and shamanic astrology. Additionally, Verena connects with her own intuition, spiritual guidance, and reads the Akashic Records.Verena considers astrology as a lived experience. For her, astrology and the planets are neither above nor detached from life but rather a part of an enchanted, wise and meaningful universe which includes nature, earth, the cosmos, humans, animals and also entities from other dimensions and extraterrestrial realms.Verena considers evolutionary astrology and the akashic records as powerful systems and magical tools to navigate our soul’s experience in this incarnation here in earth school and to connect with a higher Truth, Love, Light, and Source. The cosmos reflects the overarching energy of evolution on a personal and collective level. Therefore, astrology helps us raise our consciousness, find back to our light and return to Love. For Verena rituals, meditation and prayers to the planets, goddesses and gods are part of her astrological practice, soul’s path and heart work. 46. Zaneta Sykes: Listening To The Web of Life

What does it mean to listen? What does devoting our life to the practice of listening entail? How can listening assist us in cultivating deeper relationships with the greater web of life? This is a truly special and potent conversation I recorded with my dear friend and teacher, Zaneta Sykes. If you've been tuning in to this podcast for the past couple months, you know that I've been sharing my personal contemplations for the coming at the start of the week. On the final week of 2022, I decided to break the tradition and, instead, to share this conversation with all of you. During this liminal time, it feels more important than ever to focus our energies on listening to what's present for us: in our bodies, in our lives, in our relationships, in the collective.Zaneta has spent their life contemplating what it means to listen and what it entails to cultivate a practice of deep listening. This conversation traverses many different realms, but at the heart of it, I feel that Zaneta was sharing a crucial lesson about accessing the presence and reclaiming our vital life force through the simple, but profound act of learning to truly listen. We also discussed Zaneta's multi-dimensional approach to sound and healing modalities, the frustration and joy of liminality, and the corporality of our spiritual lives. Zaneta and I both share conservatory musical trainings, so we share our reflections on what it means to interact with concepts like tradition and having a degree for something so innately human. Finally, we explored how Zaneta's practice of deep listening inform their tarot practice. Here’s Zaneta’s bio:Zaneta (they/them) is a queer, multi Brooklyn-based sound ritualist, listening educator, nature recordist, creativity activist, tarot reader, and podcast host. At the core of their work is a deep desire to remember how to live in interconnectedness. Whether that is through meditation and connecting with the self, or in community rituals to connect to the land, Zaneta weaves sound and ritual to create experiences that transform the way participants hear and connect to the world. In the spirit of an interconnected world, Zaneta focuses on supporting folx to make their art and express themselves fully, knowing that interconnection and interdependence are rooted in our individual wholeness and that our authentic creative expression is at the heart of that wholeness. It’s towards this collective vision that Zaneta offers channeled tarot readings for creative liberation, and offers readings to support artists in navigating their careers and projects. You can find Zaneta's work on their website, Instagram, and podcast - Art Witch. 45. Megan Frye: Living On The Sagittarius-Gemini Axis

What does it mean to live on the Sagittarius - Gemini axis? How do we cultivate a relationship with their planetary rulers, Jupiter and Mercury? How can working with Sagittarius and Gemini aid us in exploring our own subconscious? In this episode, my friend and partner in conversation, Megan Frye, and I weaved a conversation on the Sagittarius and Gemini archetypes. As we are leaving Sagittarius season, my hope is that this poetic, free-flowing, and expansive conversation will assist you in reflecting the themes these two archetypes bring up during this season. We discussed big, edgy topics of the construction of reality, of entertaining questions and possibilities without necessarily arriving at answers. Throughout our conversation, Megan and I brought in Odin and Santa Claus, seen through the lens of personal experiences and observations about the collective. Finally, we also discussed what it means to explore our personal underworld through the lens of Megan's work as a hypnotherapist. Here’s Megan’s bio:Megan Frye is an independent writer and translator. An eternal student of photography, astrology, music and yoga, she came into hypnotherapy during the year of her Gemini nodal return. You could say hypnotherapy is her B-side, but as any audiophile knows, the B-side is often the best side. Megan spends most of her time outdoors, on the road and in loving theta with the world and beings around her.She is honored to guide clients through therapeutic hypnosis, which she believes to be one of the most rapidly transformational healing modalities available. Her greatest teachers are nature, the subconscious mind and those who fearlessly and compassionately embrace their shadow.Megan is a Cancer rising, Aries sun and Aquarius moon. She has a Sagittarius stellium and loves her Taurus placements most of all. She grew up in Michigan and, like a hermit crab, has called many places home and is always looking for the next best place. Blame in on the Sag. She is the proud co-founder of Holistic Soul Project: an international, nature-focused, in-person collaborative and transformational mystic retreat experience. 42. Virgo & Tending To Our Vessels: Contemplating The Week of 12.05.22

What are our vessels in this lifetime? How can attuning to the zodiac archetype of Virgo assist us in cultivating care and grace to the tending of our vessels? What wisdom lies in honoring the subtle space between noticing misalignments and fixing them?In this offering, I'm sharing my personal notes and contemplations about the week ahead. Combining astrology, tarot, the Akashic & Cosmic Body perspectives, and guidance from my sacred ancestors, healing guides and my own spirit, I hope these messages will serve you as you walk your path. This week, what called to me is the negative space, the missing link. Themes of the mutable signs of Sagittarius, Gemini, and Pisces are vibrant and alive in this week's astrology. To complete and stabilize, I felt the teachings and wisdom of Virgo calling us forth, asking us to bring curiosity and care towards our earthly vessels. I also pulled cards: Ace of Swords from Tarot of The Drowning World and Protected from the Begin Oracle. 41. Relationality & Collapsing Timelines: Contemplating The Week of 11.28.22

How do we honor our relationships while timeline-jumping? How do we allow death to usher in emptiness as creative practice? How can we hold space for both hopefulness and hopelessness? In this episode, I shared my notes for the current week - Nov. 28 - Dec. 4, 2022. Some big topics wanted to come through as we astrologically move certain stories forward alongside a wonky, yet spunky timeline. With the guidance of the planetary ancestors, the cards, the Akashic and the Cosmic Body consciousness, as well as my own sacred ancestors, I hope these transmissions serve to assist you in deepening your relationship with your own path as a spirit living a human reality.I also pulled cards: Death and Two of Wands from the Thoth Tarot. 40. Jeff Hinshaw: Cultivating The Flame of Devotion

What is devotion? What role can devotion play in our path as spiritual beings? How can tarot and astrology assist us in deepening our devotional practices? For many of us, myself included, the word ‘devotion’ has become a keyword closely associated with the zodiac sign Virgo. In this episode, my partner in conversation, Jeff Hinshaw, invited us to expand our perspective on what it means to cultivate a devotional practice. We discussed what Jeff is learning from this current chapter of their practice - while Saturn transits their 1st house and Jupiter is (mostly) in Pisces. We also spoke about religious trauma and the role that modalities like tarot and astrology can play in helping us connect with spirit when our religious / spiritual upbringing do not provide a place where it feels safe to bring our whole selves.Jeff is someone I admire deeply for their ability to not only present wisdom in an accessible, healing manner, but also embody and exude the frequency of his transmissions with sincerity, gentleness, and care. This conversation is no exception. It’s a fluid, mystical transmission recorded at a liminal threshold (on 11.11.22!) and it feels right to share it as the Sun leaves the watery realm of Scorpio into the fiery land of Sagittarius. Here’s Jeff’s bio:Jeff Hinshaw (he/they) is an intuitive practitioner fusing together over a decade of experience working with tarot, astrology, and somatic healing. Jeff’s practice is grounded in reverence for the elements, nature, the Earth, and Spirit. Jeff offers their unique expertise of ritual, tarot, and astrology to guide others on journeys of self-exploration, transformation and healing.Jeff is the host of the podcast Cosmic Cousins. Released on the New and Full Moon, each episode facilitates a deeper connection to the Moon and the current astrological transits. Jeff is also the founder of the Brooklyn Fools: Tarot Journey – a 22-week ritual gathering through the Major Arcana of the tarot. Dubbed as a “radical tarot school” by National Geographic, the Brooklyn Fools Tarot Journey has been an active Tarot Community since 2014. Jeff’s teachings of the tarot go hand-in-hand with their astrological practice. You can find Jeff and his work on his website, his podcast, and his Instagram. 39. Expanding The Edges of Reality: Contemplating The Week of 11.21.22

Where are you believing that reality is more solid than it actually is? Where are you confusing different approaches with different values? How can we dilate our abilities to perceive the hope and spiritual support that are always available to us?In this episode, I shared my notes for the current week - Nov. 21 - Nov. 27, 2022. With the guidance of the planetary ancestors, the cards, the Akashic and the Cosmic Body consciousness, as well as my own sacred ancestors, I hope these transmissions serve to assist you in deepening your relationship with your own path as a spirit living a human reality.I also pulled cards: 10 of Pentacles from Moonchild Tarot and Uranus from Celestial Bodies Oracle. 38. Christopher Marmolejo of The Red Read: Reading The World

What does it mean to do a reading and to be a reader? What is the role of literacy in liberation? What role does faith play in reclaiming the truth of who we are?In this invigorating conversation, I’m joined by my friend and tarot-astrology scholar extraordinaire Christopher @the.red.read in discussing their take on what it means to do a reading and to be a reader. I’m inspired by Christopher’s cultivation of their embodied intuitive knowledge and the ways they translate that to their work. This conversation invited me into deeper contemplations of what it means to play the role of sharing our love of esoteric knowledge with others - be that in a reading or teaching capacity, which are so often intricately intertwined. We spoke about Christopher’s passion and dedication to helping others cultivate a practice of reading tarot for themselves and others, and how to weave a body of knowledge in a community of learners and seekers. Here’s Christopher’s bio:Christopher is an educator, astrologer, writer and tarot scholar. Their work interweaves knowledge of astrology, mythology, tarot, feminist, queer knowing and being to create a dynamic space of exalted spiritual regard. Their readings are a constellation of consciousness, a channel for healing, and a tool for decolonization. The classes, readings and writings work to give and facilitate new ways of reading the world and the self, to empower the writing of a new world and to revise worn out self-concepts. In Christopher’s tradition, literacy, in all its forms, is the legacy of liberation.Find Christopher on their website www.theredread.com to join their newsletter, to check out their classes, readings, and other offerings. 37. Making Space for Safety: Contemplating The Week of 11.14.22

What happens if we consciously allow narratives and evidence of levity, of being nourished and cared for, to also coexist with stories of pain and trauma? What can you release to access the joy of release from pressure? What can you amplify to nourish your awareness that danger is, in fact, no longer a part of your present-time reality? In this episode, I shared my notes for the current week - Nov. 14 - Nov. 20, 2022. Combining astrology, tarot, the Akashic & Cosmic Body perspectives, and guidance from my sacred ancestors, I hope these messages will serve you as walk your path. This week, the invitation is to remember that our capacity for feeling safety is something we always have access to, even if we still feel ourselves to be dancing in the dark. While Venus and Mercury exit the watery depths of Scorpio into the fiery adventures of Sagittarius, the Sun will still be in Scorpio. While we may still feel the grip of Scorpio’s fearless dive into the shadows, our bodies and our minds may actually have more access to expansiveness and levity, to the tangy flavor of possibilities.Just because we’re in the dark, doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. Just because we’re in a tight spot, doesn’t mean we can’t let our animal bodies breathe a sigh of relief.I also pulled cards: Justice from Serpentfire Tarot and Dreaming / Lizard / 64th hexagram from Animal Totems & The I-Ching. 36. Rebecca Lopez Mullins: The Edges of Grief & Creativity

How do we show up in our full, authentic humanity at the portal of grief? How can we allow the grief of loss to co-exist with the pleasure of companionship? How does grief show up to teach us about our innate creativity? Right after recording this conversation with my dear friend and incredible artist-healer Rebecca Lopez Mullins, I knew that we were supposed to share it during Scorpio season.Centered around the grief of suddenly losing her mother earlier this year, Rebecca and I weaved a conversation that explored the expansion and deepening of her relationships with her own gifts, her husband, her son, her sisters, and her community. We also spoke about how Rebecca’s artistic practice became her spiritual practice, how tapping into the artist within and the larger ecosystem of relationality helped her channel her Altar Companions collection, and how her work connected her to ancestral wisdom.I feel so honored to share this conversation. Rebecca has shown up as a teacher, a conduit for the wisdom medicine of grief and creativity for me at a time when I needed it deeply. Rebecca’s willingness to show up so fully to this conversation is such a gift. I invite you to show up with an open heart to this profound conversation. Here’s Rebecca’s bio: Rebecca is a Multicultural & Multidimensional Creatress of small batch jewels, divination tools and art to activate, align and reconnect folks to their radiance. It is her belief that the pieces people choose to adorn themselves in and invite into their homes and sacred spaces reflect each individual’s kaleidoscopic inner landscape. She aspires to cultivate a timeless & powerful connection between people and her work; one that compels them to live a Soul-rich, deeply connected, rooted and meaningful life. Her body of work is a prayer infused with the highest good for those who welcome her pieces into their orbit. Her wish is for people to be emboldened to show up in their full expression. Rebecca’s creative process is ignited and guided by ancestral (human/non-human) wisdom, the natural, elemental & cosmic realms, textures, unique materials & colorways. Each piece is handmade and sculpted with heart + conscience in her home studio on unceded Anishinabewaki land in so-called Grand Rapids, Michigan. You can find out more about Rebecca's incredible work through her website and also follow her work on Instagram.Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 35. Ease & Expectations: Contemplating The Week of 11.07.22

What is the correlation between your restlessness and expectations? What pleasure, grace, and vitality are available to us when we lower our expectations?I'm experimenting with a new format! In this offering, I'm sharing my personal notes and contemplations about the week ahead. Combining astrology, tarot, the Akashic & Cosmic Body perspectives, and guidance from my sacred ancestors, healing guides and my own spirit, I hope these messages will serve you as you walk your path. This week, the invitation is to lower our expectations. Expectations can serve as barriers. They’re often derived from internalized standards, which we learn from conditioning. And as such, expectations can mask our true desires, impulses, and grief. They can also obscure the emergent truth about what *actually* brings us pleasure at this moment.I also pulled cards: Queen of Wands from The Somnia Tarot and Camouflage from Begin Oracle. 34. Martha Alter Hines: Remembering Your Divine Self Through Astrology

How do we work with astrology as a portal to deeper connections with the spirit world? How can we cultivate more easeful trust with our intuition and with our natural gifts? What role can expanding our framework for contemplations around gender and sexuality play in connecting us with our authentic selves? I feel honored to share this profound, grounded conversation with my friend, Martha Alter Hines.Recorded in late July 2022, I was deeply moved when I re-listened to this conversation this week because so much of what Martha shared here became seeds that have grown into gorgeous seedlings in my own path. It’s a conversation that’s taught me and helped me clarify my own path as an astrologer. I hope that you’ll allow it to also deepen your connection to yourself. We discussed how Martha’s astrological practice serves as a mirror to her connection to the spirit world and how to work with fears of the unknown through the lens of astrological transits. We also discussed her life journey as a clinical social worker who felt called to work with the spirit world and to be a channel for divine wisdom. We also discussed how devoting ourselves to investigating, expanding, and engaging with concepts and constructs around gender and sexuality can help us deepen into our authentic selves.Earlier in 2022, Martha organized an incredible free symposium, Re-Becoming The One, to promote the healing of gender, sexuality, and our relationship to Love and Life itself. Martha graciously invited me to be a part of this symposium and you can listen to our conversation on Mercury and the Non-binary experience here. Here’s Martha’s bio: First and foremost, I am a mom of two amazing kids, ages ten and fifteen. We live in BEAUTIFUL coastal California and feel so lucky to be here.I come from a big, international family. I was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and grew up in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kenya, and northern Virginia. I received my Masters in Social Work from Smith College in Massachusetts in 2001. I then worked as a clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and body worker for most of the past twenty years. I specialized in prevention, treatment, and investigation of child abuse, attachment, and trauma. In 2018, the spirit world made it very clear that it was time for me to move on from that very important work to the calling of my soul – assisting people to navigate the beautiful and often challenging experience of awakening to their ultimate, cosmic selves and souls. For many years, since I was 21 years old, I have had an ability to see many things beyond the physical world – spirits of all kinds, past lives, the structure of people’s bodies and cells, and so on.In the work I do now, I bridge both the Earthly world and that of the spiritual and cosmic worlds to support us in coming into our personal and collective relationship with the spirit world and our own ways of living as conscious beings of both the Earth and the divine.I feel strongly that the world needs our wisdom, not only of our minds, but of our whole beings - our minds, hearts, bodies, spirits, and selves as beings of the Earth, cosmos, and infinity.I love this work that I do now and am honored and full of joy holding space for others to recognize their own beautiful, literally divine selves and to live the full life they are here to live. You can find Martha’s offerings on her website. She’s available for 1:1 sessions and has a beautiful membership community which hosts monthly gatherings. We also mentioned Joe G’s talk on the non-binary experience.Special thanks to Alex Lai for the editing help for this episode. 33. Jamie Leonhart: Tending To The Delicate Balance

How do we tend to the delicate balance of the ecosystem of roles we play as artists of our lives? What does it mean to be a singer and who gets to claim that title? How can healing practitioners benefit from exploring their physical voice as a medium to convey and translate their passion and life calling? My guest in conversation is NYC-based singer-songwriter extraordinaire who also happens to be my voice teacher, Jamie Leonhart. Jamie and I have worked together on a weekly basis on exploring and cultivating my voice. The impact of our work together on my healing journey has been profound, and I'm deeply grateful for the safe space Jamie provided for these explorations. Our conversation revolved around Jamie's creative process of writing and recording her latest album The Illusion of Blue in the midst of the pandemic and the resulting closure of performance spaces - which propelled many performing artists to question their roles within society. Jamie and I also discussed tending to the delicate balance of holding the identity as an artist, a mother, and a teacher, working with creatives who are not professional singers on their voices, and the fear of claiming our right to explore our unique physical voices. This conversation means so much to me. Listening back, I was moved by the rapport and trust we've slowly built over time. I'm excited for you to get to know Jamie as an artist and her unique perspectives on her work. Here's Jamie's bio:Drawing comparisons to the likes of Norah Jones and Feist, the sharp-witted singer-songwriter Jamie Leonhart is an artist who is difficult to categorize, dynamic in emotional range and diverse in genre-crossing ability.Jamie Leonhart was born in New York City, the granddaughter of a cantor and the youngest of three musically-curious children. She began studying the violin at age three and singing soon after.Jamie inhabits a hybrid of popular music that incorporates jazz, indie-pop, and quirky torch song cabaret. Live, her audience becomes a collective co-conspirator as she intones her confessions, dissatisfactions and desires, supported by arrangements that move from somber to playfully bombastic in a moment. Jamie’s approachable demeanor belies powerhouse vocals and her ability to deliver intricate compositions, which she does with depth and clarity. As a songwriter, Jamie writes about vulnerability, patience, frustration, shifting perspectives and trust.Jamie is employed as both a commercial voiceover artist and vocalist and also works as a background and session singer (Steely Dan and St.Vincent among others) Jamie is a 2015 commissioned NEW YORK VOICES artist of The Public Theater/Joe’s Pub, and created ESTUARY: an artist | mother story through this commission. Her second solo record, the illusion of blue, was released in February 2022 .You can find and connect with Jamie via her website, listen to her albums Illusion of Blue and The Truth About Suffering on Apple Music or Spotify. If you're ever curious about exploring how vocal explorations and training can unlock your unique expressions, I highly recommend reaching out to Jamie to see if working together will make sense for you. 32. Amanda Yates Garcia: The Poetry of Witchcraft

How can witchcraft help us participate in re-enchanting the world? How do we reclaim our strength and power to enable us to listen to the messages from the spirit of the earth? What is the danger in magic? To many in the magical world, my guest in conversation today, Amanda Yates Garcia, needs no introduction. Amanda is the author of Initiated: Memoir of a Witch - one of the most dearly beloved text in the community. Gorgeously written, Amanda's book has accompanied many, myself included, through powerful rites of passages - ones that our overculture and conventional education systems never prepared us for. Amanda is also the host of the incredible podcast Between The Worlds. In our conversation, we dove right into the deep end, discussing Amanda's creative process, what her witchcraft practice means to her, the connection between capitalism and depression, and what it means to re-enchant the world and to re-connect ourselves with the spirit of earth. The depth of Amanda's contemplation and the fullness of Amanda's presence are so deeply inspiring to me, and this whole conversation had me at the edge of my seat. This conversation is a must-listen. It's my deep honor to share this conversation and Amanda's brilliance with you. Here’s Amanda’s bio:Amanda Yates Garcia is a writer, witch, and the Oracle of Los Angeles. 25. Nicole France-Coe: Trickster Priestess in The Liminal

What does it mean to be devoted to The Great Mystery? What possibilities are available when we allow ourselves to live in the cracks, in between worlds, in The Liminal? How do we work with the Trickster Priestess within? In this highly magical episode, my collaborator Britten LaRue and I are joined by a dearly admired member of our community spaces - Nicole France-Coe. Nicole landed in an astrology course that Britten and I tended to last year, and this year, Nicole will be joining us as part of the community support team for our upcoming course, Astrology as Praxis along with Jaclyn Skeans, who was the guest of Episode 23. This conversation is as unapologetically mystical, profound, and grounded as Nicole's presence is.We discussed how Nicole found our spaces through a deep, intuitive call to learn astrology, how Nicole's life led them to the devotional path to The Great Mystery, and what she's learned about being living in the liminal as a mixed race, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent human. Nicole also spoke about her experience with astrology - trusting the stars to tell her who she is, working directly with the planets through her own embodied gnosis, and how astrology connects them to their ancestors. Nicole, Britten, and I had such a fun time during the point of the conversation where we collectively realized that Astrology as Praxis will be a year-long dance party with the planets. I'm excited for you to experience Nicole's magic with us in Astrology as Praxis. Here’s Nicole’s bio:Nicole Providence France-Coe (she/they) is a devotee to Great Mystery and all Its beauty, pleasure, liminality, and dismantling power. She is more at home in the Unknown than the Binary and the Static. Being born onto Earth as a mixed race, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent human has provided the blood and bone blueprint for learning how to dance in the cracks.Nicole relates deeply to the archetypal energy of the Trickster as well as the High Priestess and delights in wedding these two energies in her body and through her oracular offerings. This fall, with her partner Dicky, they will be launching their business website, The Lion & the Lute. This space will hold their offerings in service to ancestral healing, oracular arts, handmade goods and flower essences. In the meantime, you can reach Nicole at [email protected] or IG @nicolefrancecoe.In this episode, Nicole also mentioned the hypnosis session facilitated by Megan Frye of Healing Wave Hypnosis, The Lyceum - The Sacred Trust https://sacredtrust.org/workshops/pollen/ as well as Kathryn Solie's poisonous plant medicine class https://www.kathrynsolie.com/Join me and Britten LaRue in a year-long astrological learning container, Astrology as Praxis! 24. Curriculum Magic for Astrology as Praxis with Britten LaRue

How can we turn curriculum-building, something potentially boring and mundane, into a magical practice? How do we build learning containers that are not only sturdy, but life-giving and nourishing? How can we create a course curriculum that works through our lives, our bodies, our spirits? In this conversation, Britten LaRue and I sat for a meaty, joyful conversation on the curriculum of our upcoming course, Astrology as Praxis. As lifelong students and teachers, we geeked out over our shared love for a juicy course curriculum. So we knew that when we began speaking to the spirit of Astrology as Praxis, we wanted to also craft a robust curriculum - one that will ensure that participants will feel held, cared for, and, simultaneously, challenged during the transformative experience of the course. We discussed how we weaved our mystical practices into the creation of this curriculum, how reflecting on the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn) volunteered to help us with creating structures for the container, and finally we revealed and discussed the powerful syllabus for Astrology as Praxis.EXPLORATORY CALLS: If you are interested in exploring whether you will be a good fit for Astrology as Praxis and vice versa, I will be offering a limited number of 1:1 calls! 23. Jaclyn Skeans: Sewing The Planets into Art

How do we marry astrology with a beloved creative practice? How can we invite once-in-a-lifetime astrological transits to become our collaborators in creating the art that is our lives? In this episode, my collaborator Britten LaRue and I are joined by a dearly beloved community member - Jaclyn Skeans. Jaclyn was one of our students during our astrology class last year and this year, Jaclyn will be joining us as part of the community support team for our upcoming course, Astrology as Praxis. We thought it's a perfect opportunity to talk to Jaclyn about her deeply magical experiences emerging as an astrologer. This conversation feels like a poignant, heart-led conversation between three Pisces suns.We discussed how Jaclyn came into astrology and her unique experience of double emergence - first to name herself as an astrologer fluent in giving readings, and then as a textile artist creating astro-inspired work. Jaclyn shared her incredible process of listening to the planets for guidance on how to materialize her vision of marrying her artistic and astrological practice. We also spoke about how Jaclyn worked with the transits to transform her own life and how the planets shared their guidance in her creation process. Jaclyn has a warm, cozy presence that instantly puts you at ease, and I'm excited for you to experience Jaclyn's magic with us in Astrology as Praxis. Here’s Jaclyn’s bio:Jaclyn Skeans (she/her) is an avid list maker (Virgo Rising), lover of all things magical (Pisces Sun), and always curious about how you're really doing (Scorpio Moon). 22. Madison Nees: Dancing in The Underworld

What happens when we allow ourselves to learn to dance with the deep, gritty, dirty parts of ourselves? What does it mean to claim that we are artists of our own lives? How do we work with the sensations of our bodies to honor the full range of our humanity? In this deeply electric conversation, my guest is Madison Nees. I met Madison when Madison gave a rich, powerful talk about cultivating a relationship of inquiry and curiosity with the body - and I instantly knew I wanted to work with Madison. Our conversation is centered around Madison's practice and upcoming offering, Katabasis. We discussed what it means to be an artist, the connection between creation and destruction, how somatics are innate to us as human beings, and how diving into our inner underworld can help us find our own leadership. We also spoke about what ancestors meant to Madison and how Madison's ancestral practice has been shifting. Madison's reflections are poignant and deeply rooted in both Madison's personal and professional practices. The spaces Madison holds reflect a sincere commitment to the non-expert model. They inspire participants to explore their own autonomy and interconnection. I'm honored to share this space and this conversation with Madison. Here’s Madison’s bio:Madison Nees is a human, counselor, artist, and guide. My practice focuses on the intersection of ecology, ritual and somatics. I have worked in the addiction and trauma treatment industry since 2015. My own journey includes healing from substance use, anorexia nervosa, loss of culture and self. When I began my journey, I did not understand that the pull to somatics was a call of my ancestors. I was being pulled to heal all the things my mother could not and ultimately lost her life avoiding. I was being pulled to feel the things my Grandmother had no language for.My body knew the language however, and it spoke in illness, pains, aches and rage. It also spoke the language of held grief and aloneness. During this process, I discovered gifts hidden beneath these repressed emotions. These gifts were the sensations. The gifts were the rivers of grief leading me home to myself. They were also the intuition and creativity of my lineage. I always tried to “do” something with the emotions but my healing progressed the more I simply sat with them. Instead of trying to push them away, I wondered what would happen if I let them grow. They grew into my practice today. You can sign up for Madison's newsletter on Madison's website, and follow Madison's work on Instagram @ritual_body. Check out Madison's exciting new six-month journey, Katabasis, which will begin on Sep 18, 2022. You can set up a call with Madison if you're curious here. Madison will also be hosting a group ritual on Thursday, Aug 18, 2022 called Pleasure is Holy. Join me and Britten LaRue in a year-long astrological learning container, Astrology as Praxis! How can we build new worlds by learning astrology together as a community? How can astrology assist us imagining new ways of being with each other in community? In this very special episode, my collaborator Britten LaRue and I are joined by our astrology students from the Charting Your Course 2021 Cohort! This was such a fun episode to record and I hope you enjoy it as much we enjoyed recording it. We discussed:What they've learned about themselves, others, and the world around them from learningHow applying and questioning ‘knowledge’ is as powerful as accruing it, and how it happened within a community of learners. What learning astrology has taught them about cultivating themselves and others in their lives. What trepidations they experienced in terms of learning together and being in a long-term learning container. What they learned about being with yourself and being in community since learning astrology within the community. This coming September 2022, Britten and I will share a new offering - Astrology as Praxis - which is a year-long journey to learn, un-learn, and integrate the magic of astrology in our lives as individuals, communities, and members of the larger cosmic body. We warmly welcome you to visit our course page to learn more about this offering and sign up to receive updates from us. It was such a joy to meet again as a group and to share this conversation with a wider audience. 20. Erin Kelley: The Malefics & The Bad Houses

What wisdom may we glean from cultivating relationships with difficult planets and houses? What gifts might we uncover through working with the small and quiet when our society glorifies the big and loud? How can we increase our capacity for embodiment and wisdom through our relationship with the malefics and the bad houses? In this episode, I'm joined for a very magical conversation with astrologer and dear friend, Erin Kelley. Our conversation is centered around the astrological idea of the malefics (Mars and Saturn) and the bad houses (the 6th, 8th, and 12th houses). We spoke about what these ominous-sounding concepts translate to our personal and professional astrological practice, how to deepen our relationship with forces that can feel scary to work with, and how working with them can unlock invaluable wisdom in our daily lives. I deeply appreciate Erin's approach to astrology - her insights are firmly rooted in her dedicated studies of the rich tradition of astrology and equally integrated through her personal, intuitive lens. As two self-proclaimed sensitive humans, our conversation feels like a beautiful tribute to the often-unpopular malefics and bad houses, and all the gifts we've received from working with them in our lives. Here’s Erin’s bio:Erin Kelley is an astrologer and intuitive who loves finding beauty and joy in the most unexpected places. A former kundalini yoga and meditation teacher, full spectrum birth worker, and consultative strategist, she believes the book of knowledge is never truly written and has an insatiable curiosity which is continually calling her to adventure and leading her down a number of paths. Erin has studied the nature of invisible things throughout her entire life and in 2020, she began working on the concept of Slow Magick, which is the practice of slowing down and stepping into sacred time, to deeply connect with Nature and the Land to relax, restore, and reveal the natural self. 19. Astrology as Praxis with Britten LaRue

What does 'astrology as praxis' mean? How do we invite our whole selves to learn and apply astrology in our lives? What does it mean to remember our participation in the cosmic body? In this conversation, Britten LaRue and I mused on the title of our upcoming year-long astrology learning container: Astrology as Praxis. We discussed how this concept came to us, why it feels so meaningful as two mystic-astrologers who came from long backgrounds of good ol' academia, and the ways that synthesizing astrological concepts into our daily lives as humans have helped us heal and dream new realities. We also discussed the implication of considering the concept of astrology as praxis on our facilitation style, and we break down the juicy subtitle of this course: Remembering our Participation in the Cosmic Body. We warmly welcome you to visit our course page to learn more about this offering and sign up to receive updates from us. Britten and I feel so thrilled and proud of what we’re co-creating, which is unlike anything we’ve seen in the astrological community. Our course will begin on September 10, 2022 and registration will open for a brief window of time on August 26-28, 2022. In the meantime, we will continue to weave conversations around this vast topic of Astrology as Praxis! 18. Astrology as a Living Being with Britten LaRue

What if we begin treating astrology as a living being? What if astrology is a wise elder or a trusted friend? How will that change the way we talk about challenging transits and moments in our lives? In this conversation, my dear friend, brilliant collaborator, and first astrology teacher Britten LaRue and I announce our very exciting new offering: a year-long astrological learning container we lovingly titled ASTROLOGY AS PRAXIS: REMEMBERING OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE COSMIC BODY.We sat down to talk about how each of us came into astrology, how astrology invites us into a state of wonder (which can feel very destabilizing), the joys and challenges of collaborating and co-creating, and we invite you to expand your perspectives beyond the narrow lens of how our capitalist, consumerist culture sees and uses astrology. We warmly welcome you to visit our course page to learn more about this offering and sign up to receive updates from us. 17. Verena Borell: Mercury & The Outer Planets

How can Mercury open the portal to the outer planets: Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto? What is Mercury’s evolutionary intent? How can we foster a collaboration with our Mercurial mind in our soul’s journey? My guest in conversation today is the brilliant evolutionary astrologer and my dear friend, Verena Borell. Our conversation revolved around the relationship and interplay between Mercury and the outer planets. When Verena suggested this topic, I noticed our shared energetic field lit up. It feels electrifying to pay tribute to our chart ruler (Verena is a Gemini rising, and I’m a Virgo rising) - to reflect on how our Mercurial curiosity assists us in our soul’s evolution, and how our analytical minds can serve as a bridge to accessing the pure intelligence of all creation.Verena also shared how she discovered Evolutionary Astrology and her journey in deepening her relationship with this wisdom tradition, the challenges in learning and sharing astrological insights, and what it means to embody Mercury in this lifetime. Here’s Verena’s bio:Verena Borell lives and works as an evolutionary astrologer, writer, creatrix and translator for cosmic energies in Munich but will move to Austria this summer. She offers 1:1 Evolutionary Astrology Sessions in German and English language and supports clients with “Cosmic Guidance“ over several months on their soul’s journey. To expand and deepen the wisdom school of evolutionary astrology, Verena started last summer to read the Akashic Records for herself and her clients, too. Blessed with gifted and wise teachers such as Sabrina Monarch and Ari Moshe Wolfe, Verena considers herself as an eternal student. Born with a strong Gemini and Sagittarius axis and a fully loaded 12th house, Verena has the deep desire to share the light, her learnings and experiences with other souls. She teaches her “Living Astrology Intensive Program“ in German language, gives astrology workshops and shares her astrological knowledge, intuitive insights and cosmic experiences on her Instagram channel @verenaborell, via her Mercury Messages Newsletter and her Mercury Dreams Podcast in German language.Verena considers astrology as a loving and living experience. For her, astrology and the planets are neither above nor detached from life but rather a part of an enchanted, wise and meaningful universe which includes nature, earth, the cosmos, humans, animals and also entities from other dimensions and extraterrestrial realms. Verena considers evolutionary astrology and the akashic records as powerful systems and magical tools to navigate our soul’s experience in this incarnation here in earth school and to connect with a higher Truth, Love and Source. Because of that, rituals, meditation and prayers to the planets, goddesses and gods are part of her astrological practice, soul’s path and heart work. You can sign up for Verena’s Mercury Messages newsletter either in English or in German, follow her on Instagram @verenaborell and visit her website. To book an evolutionary astrology reading with Verena, contact her at [email protected]. We also mentioned Ari Moshe Wolfe, Sabrina Monarch, Jeffrey Wolf Green, and Deva Green. 16. Remembering Our Inherent Worth (Solo)

You may have heard the phrase "You are inherently worthy" floating around in the collective. But have we paused to consider the truly radical implication of this phrase? If we truly believe that our worth is inherent, what shifts are available in how we relate to ourselves, to our communities, and to the 'authorities'? What other portals might we open if we get into the practice of embodying this knowing of our inherent worth? What revolutions might be start if we believe ourselves to be children of the universe, rather than limited by man-made governing bodies?A few months ago, I channeled a workshop for The Wild Ones community's virtual retreat. In the past couple weeks, I've felt a nudge to update the content of this workshop and share it widely. When Roe v. Wade was overturned in the US this past week, I knew it's time for me to share a new offering that went a little bit deeper than the one I shared previously. While the previous version of this offering felt abstract and personal, I believe this is a rhizomatic offering. In engaging with this offering, you're beginning a ripple effect that can provide a powerful and potent shift in the collective. In this offering, I shared some perspectives that have blossomed and synthesized from my Akashic and astrology practice, as well as a guided meditation to infuse this knowing into your energetic body. If you feel called, I'd love to hear about any insights, messages, and realizations you experienced from this offering. Feel free to email me at [email protected]. It is my hope that this offering meets you wherever you are. That it will serve you even if you found it months after the release. This podcast is hosted, produced, and edited by Jonathan Koe. 15. Marika Hamahata Clymer: The Ecology of Healing

What does it mean to be a healer within a capitalist, colonial framework? How do we honor the complexity of our healing practice as complex humans? My guest in conversation today is my wise Reiki teacher, Marika Hamahata Clymer. Our conversation revolved around the idea of what it means to be a healer for ourselves and for our communities, how reigniting our relationship with the land is in itself an embodiment practice, and what it means to create a learning community while divesting from the model of the ‘guru.’ Marika shared how her journey as a farmer led her to create her year-long Reiki program, Foundations of Energetic Ecology, how to reimagine our bodies through ecological frameworks, and what it means to teach Reiki from an animist, Japanese perspective. Here’s Marika’s bio: Marika Hamahata Clymer (she/her) is a healer, teacher, birth attendant, and mother who inhabits Occupied Duwamish Territory - Seattle, WA. Of Indigenous Ainu, Japanese, mixed European lineages, Marika’s practice is emergent of her ancestral communities - including people, plant, animal, and land. You can find more about Marika’s program by visiting www.energeticecologynw.com. 14. Nick Kepley: Finding Wisdom at The Margin

My guest in conversation today is the brilliant Nick Kepley. We sat down for an open, expansive conversation about the margin. We explored what it means to be in a constant quest for the balance between deconstructing our subconscious replication of oppressive systems in our spiritual practices and creating beautiful personal and public practice that centers inclusivity.Nick shared profound insights they've gained from listening to the margin and how it's served as an invitation to question the philosophy behind the concept of archetypes. Nick also shared their current thoughts about what it means for them to hold the identity of a white practitioner - to embody the search without appropriation and extraction. Here's Nick's bio: Nick Kepley is a white, queer, non-binary Tarot anarchist who believes in the power of words and their complete inability to describe reality. Since 2011, Nick has been working as a Tarot facilitator, utilizing the cards as a reflective tool, and witnessing the conversations that take place between clients and their deeper knowing. In addition to this work, Nick is also the co-creator of the In Search of Tarot guided journal collection, the founder of The Searcher's Symposium for Tarot Education, and the host of the In Search of Tarot podcast. They are currently writing a book that imagines a new kind of mythopoetics for healing and reclaiming marginal identity. You can learn more connect with Nick by visiting manofthecards.com or by following them on Instagram @insearchoftarot. You can also listen to Nick's podcast, In Search of Tarot, and support the podcast's Patreon account. I was recently a guest on Nick's podcast. We discussed the idea of what astrology is, how we can work with archetypes, and healing our relationship to the idea of divination. 13. Liberating Our Unique Voice Through Podcasting (Solo)

Many of us struggle with sharing our creative projects. How do we move from the space of fear, of stuckness, of doubt into liberation, generous sharing, and, dare we hope, ease?In this solo episode, I took a walk down memory lane and shared the BTS (behind-the-scenes) stories of how I created this podcast - from its ideation to gestation to birth. I also shared a smörgåsbord of lessons I learned along the way about my process, creativity in general, and remembering my own unique voice. Many of us struggle with sharing our creative projects. 12. Britten LaRue: Emergence Astrology

I’m honored to have Britten LaRue as my partner in this conversation. Together, we explored Britten’s unique approach to the craft of astrology. She brilliantly coined the term Emergence Astrology to describe her practice and we traced the journey of how that concept crystallized for her as well as how her relationship with seeking answers has changed since her astrological journey began. We also discussed how to resource one’s self in order to steward creative ideas, how to compost your life experiences and the skills you learned from previous chapters of your life in order to build the life that feels resonant to you, and Britten’s experience stepping into the role of someone who helps others answer their calling to share their gifts with others - which required her to de-center herself in community while also allowing her gifts to assist others. Here's Britten's bio: Britten LaRue is a transformational life guide and magical business coach. She supports her community primarily with technologies of intuitive listening, which include wisdom she receives from astrology and the tarot. Britten is the creator of Emergence Astrology, which leans on this ancient symbolic language to help us become approachable to the self and the wild path that is emerging in the dark for us. 11. Sabrina Monarch: Pluto, Manifestation & Shadow Work

My guest in conversation today is one of my beloved astrology teachers, friend, and mentor, Sabrina Monarch. We sat down sometime in late 2021 to record a deep, honest, nuanced, and open conversation about Sabrina’s personal practices. Sabrina shared how our spiritual practices and spiritual lives can be a 360 degree practice - from finding ourselves reflected in an archetypal language to manifestation and visualization to allowing that to trickle down to more fully owning up to our Plutonic power on an embodied way. We discussed the very real, personal ways that astrology helped Sabrina through her own spiritual awakening, how true manifestation and shadow work are actually two sides of the same coin, and how Pluto relates to her embodiment practices. Here's Sabrina's bio: Sabrina Monarch is an author, evolutionary astrologer, and counselor/coach. She gained an unconventional education in creative writing by discovering an online writing community at age 12 and gaining dozens of mentors who would help her learn how to write for the next several years. She developed an interest in astrology at a young age as well, and took her craft deeper in her early twenties. She writes weekly forecasts at www.monarchastrology.com, is the host of a podcast about spiritual lifestyle and personal evolution called Magic of the Spheres, and she teaches astrology online, including an all-levels Evolutionary Astrology Intensive and advanced alumni courses. Sabrina is widely appreciated for her poetic voice and capacity to name subtle, abstract undercurrents of any particular astrological moment. She has an M.A. in Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies and currently resides in Portland, Oregon.Connect with Sabrina on Instagram @sabrinamonarch, on Facebook, or through her website www.monarchastrology.com. 10. Mallory Dowd: Love Notes to Capricorn

In today’s episode, I had a conversation with my friend Mallory Dowd. Mallory and I discussed the archetype of Capricorn - which we both feel can be quite misunderstood, or perhaps is up for a re-thinking, re-visioning, re-defining. We spoke to how Capricorn can be understood beyond the confines of our patriarchal, colonial, capitalistic framework as The Artist, The Mystic, The Ritualist, The Crone. Mallory also shared her beautiful love notes to Capricorn, some thoughts around how to work with the Capricorn energy when we feel like there’s too much of it in our system, and how Capricorn is personally meaningful to her when seen through the lens of her lineage. As Virgo risings, Mallory and I both have Capricorn ruling the 5th house of joy, creativity, pleasure, and self-expression in our birth charts. This conversation serves both as a devotional prayer and a critical study of Capricorn through the lens of our lived experiences and the infinite possibilities this archetype holds. Here's Mallory's bio: Mallory Dowd is a tarot reader, artist, teacher, theatre-maker, storyteller, and mystic. She has been holding space for over 15 years in varying roles as a clinical case manager, domestic violence advocate, support group facilitator, teacher, and tarot reader. As an artist, Mallory aims to enchant and awaken, casting spells with her words and urgently embodying the gifts of creativity, imagination, and play. As a reader, she holds warm and compassionate space in which to embrace the energies and invitations that linger on the edges of awareness, desire, and change. She currently resides in Seoul, South Korea.Connect with Mallory through her website and her Instagram @mallorydowd - where you can check out her blackout poetry and her profound musings on the tarot. Mallory offers both live and recorded readings, and I highly recommend you check out her very potent offerings. 9. Rebecca Padgett: Healing The Inner Child Through Art & Mysticism

In today’s episode, I’m joined by my friend Rebecca Padgett. As humans who identify both as artists and mystics, Rebecca and I wanted to explore the intersection between these two worlds. We discussed how artmaking and mystical practices can connect us deeper with our true selves and heal our inner child, ways to work with our inner critic (which is a topic we both know quite well as two Virgo risings), and how to honor our lineage through our personal and public practices. Rebecca also has a stellium of planets in Libra in her 2nd house, and she shared some incredible wisdom about the 2H that really helped me understand this astrological house better. Here's Rebecca's bio:Rebecca Padgett is a tarot reader, astrologer, visual artist, and dedicated student of divinatory and intuitive practices. She lives and works in a century farmhouse near Warsaw, Ontario. Her attraction to all things mystical began in childhood. From a young age, she felt a connection to something more than what she could see and feel in this physical world. As her intuition developed, so did her sensitivity to the energy of others here and on the “other side.” Inspired by her family lineage, she undertook an intensive period of study with a variety of internationally renowned teachers, astrologers, and tarot readers to clarify her own experiences, find her voice, and refine her ability to share her intuition with others. She takes great pride in being able to reflect that knowledge to each person who comes to her seeking answers and guidance.Connect with Rebecca on Instagram @mirroredmystic and read more about her offerings on her website www.mirroredmystic.comI’ve had the privilege of having Rebecca hold space for me in readings, and I marveled at Rebecca’s ability to dial into the most important issue that I presented while also staying very present. 8. The Fool in The Underworld with Mariola Rosario

In today’s episode, I’m joined by my friend, Mariola Rosario. Mariola and I both identify as seekers on our paths, and in this conversation, we explored the archetype of the underworld with beginners’ mind through the lens of The Fool, the questioner. We discussed what the underworld is, how depictions of the underworld are dictate by the empire’s relationship to death, how Mariola’s experience growing up in Puerto Rico influence her view of the underworld, and some tips on how to navigate our own underworld experiences. We also discussed the question of “What if astrology is more than just a language?”Here's Mariola's bio: Mariola Rosario (she/her) is a witch, astrologer, teacher, artist and independent researcher from Borikén, the land known as Puerto Rico. She is currently living and experiencing our global collapse from the shores of Paris, France. Mariola loves collaborating with artists, intuitives, freaks, ghouls, old, new & curious souls, students, teachers, organizers, activists, ancestors, flowers, plants, animals, candles, tarot, planets and beyond. She has always found herself somewhere between the teacher-student axis and would like to continue to find alternative and more compassionate routes towards inclusive pedagogy and revolutionary, anti-extractive modes of learning and co-creating spaces of magical and material mutual aid. Mariola’s books are open for one-on-one astrology consultations in English and Spanish. Connect with Mariola on through her website mariolarosario.com and her Instagram @mariola_rosario. 7. Mary Schuch: Why Are We Obsessed with Cults?

In today’s episode, my guest in conversation and my partner in crime is Mary Schuch. As two survivors of religious trauma who are still #1 Fan of Spirit (TM), we explored Hierophant themes: cultish behaviors, why we engage in them, and how developing an awareness of power dynamics can lead us to new ways of being in teacher-student relationships. We also discussed Mary’s relationship to her inner teacher and how it’s shifted through being in voluntary learning spaces and committing to her own personal practices. Our conversation was fun, funny, wild, irreverent, and completely non-linear. Listening back, it feels brave to me - questions and ponderings were required and answers were optional. We spoke in metaphors and along the way, there were tons of laughters, detours, thinking on our feet, and, of course, cursing. Here's Mary's bio:Mary describes herself as someone who is committed to showing up for the experience of belonging in a human body.Informed by her upbringing as a homeschooled pastor's kid and the eighth of eleven siblings, Mary is reclaiming her right to exploration and education. She values meditative multidisciplinary living through her practices of writing, music, art, movement, breadmaking, astrology, and being outdoors. Through these avenues, Mary is joyfully emerging as an intuitive and comedic mystic.Mary has spent most of the last decade deep in thought in gardens, on a lobster boat, and more recently, an oyster farm. She is originally from the Chicago area and currently lives on an island in Maine.Connect with Mary on Instagram @maryschuch and book a reading with her. Mary always helps me gain new insights and perspectives, and she also makes me laugh - which is truly the best medicine. Mary also mentioned the book Writing the Mind Alive: The Proprioceptive Method for Finding Your Authentic Voice by Linda Trichter Metcalf, Tobin Simon.Sign up for my newsletter to read my essays and be the first to hear about new offerings here.If you've enjoyed and benefited from the podcast, I invite you to apply for private mentorship and coaching with me. 6. Natasha Levinger: Empowering Ourselves Through Energy Healing

In today’s episode, I had a conversation with Natasha Levinger, who’s an intuitive reader, inner child healing teacher, and energy healer. We discussed Natasha’s journey to finding this work, the difference between energy reading / energy healing and psychic work, the role of empowerment and imagination in her work; the relationship between creativity, perfectionism, and collaboration; and also some very nuanced discussions on love, light, and spiritual bypassing. It’s a conversation with lots of full-bellied laughs - and listening back I love how Natasha’s generous and kind energy really came through.CW: We discussed suicidal thoughts in this episode. Here’s Natasha's bio: Natasha grew up as a sensitive empath in a home where it was very challenging to be one.
