S2 Ep 74E274 - Bonnie Marie Williams - How to follow your dreams and become a superhero!

In this episode, I get to speak with Bonnie Marie Williams. She's a voice actor at vo superhero. She is the ultimate superhero, and voiceover superhero. And she's got an amazing journey that we're about to learn about. She's got a bachelor's degrees in theatre arts and acting concentration, and she's into a lot of cool things that I wish I had the opportunity to get into. Our Guest Bonnie Marie Williams Twitter: https://twitter.com/vo_superhero Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vosuperhero/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vosuperhero/ Hacks to take Away When somebody telling you that you are not good enough is one of the biggest motivators if you can turn it into that. Sometimes you just need to see that it can be done. And then after that, it's like everything just picked up like I hit bottom but bounced back. It's been going well ever since. Everything takes longer than you think it will, you're not going to be an overnight success. Raised with superheroes and comic books, and also musical theater and the space program. She was always involved in theatre, and always writing her own plays. There are people who have your best intentions at heart, but they still want you to try to be realistic. She has been in jobs where her heart wasn't in it. And she could tell because she would just come home all the time exhausted. Because she’s putting in all that energy for something that doesn't make her happy. S2 Ep 73E273 - Holli Shan - How to talk with other beings

In this episode, I get to speak with a TEDx speaker, Holli Shan. I had the opportunity to attend TEDx Ashburn my first attendance ever to such an event. It was also the very first TEDx in Ashburn with a growing community of speakers their first-ever and she was one of the first speakers to speak about her passion and what she's been doing with her life. She comes from a background of animal communication and has experienced with human communication, which she then translated to just, you know, basically, she's an animal whisperer. And listening to her story. And during her journey, I was just totally blown away. Our Guest Holli Shan LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/hollishan Website: compassionspeaks.com (Company Website) Twitter: HolliShan Hacks to take Away She became an animal communicator because she wasn't completely understanding her own pets. Gravitated towards animals more so than other people. When someone is able to solve their own problem and also has that passion for this thing that they do, then they can go out and bring it to a worldwide stage. Her mission is to bridge the gap of understanding between people and their animal companions. Because once we can bridge that gap, we can have a happier home. You can never really open a door gracefully by battering it down. It's like, you can't beat the point into someone else's head. If someone is that rigid, you have to at least give them the invitation to walk through that door. It's definitely been an incredible journey working with the animals, and just working with them, and the whole thing of also getting to working with yourself, because there's a whole evolution that goes on and working within the species. Trauma is anything that could have happened, anything that caused enough of a shock, anything that caused a terror. When you're working with your animals when you're dealing with your animals. If you're having a hard time, it is okay to be honest with them, because you're coming from an authentic place, and they're willing to work with you there. ——Connect Here!—— You can find Hacks & Hobbies on these popular social media networks: Facebook: fb.com/hacksandhobbies LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hacksandhobbies Instagram: instagram.com/hacksandhobbies Twitter: twitter.com/hacksandhobbies or through our website: hacksandhobbies.com Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode, we get to speak with Kris Macc. She's a speaker, author and consultant, with an upcoming book coming out hashtag no approval needed. She helps corporations and companies be better emotionally equipped to deal with or have a good way of a balance with employees and having that emotion because a lot of the times companies feel like they are robotic. They're just looking for that bottom line. So Kris here helps those companies be emotionally intelligent companies and leaders, so they can run companies that are humanized. S2 Ep 71E271 - Mark Metry - How to become an evolved version of yourself.

In this episode, we get to speak with Mark Metry host of humans 2.0 podcast, his podcast has been featured on Forbes, Huffington Posts, Inc, and listed in the top 20 and growing podcasts for 2019 on the NASDAQ. And I've had the privilege of connecting with him back in 2018. September, have been following his journey and engaging with him on LinkedIn and Facebook. And this dude is the genuine deal, man. He's got it. I love it. And I'm so happy and excited to bring him onto the podcast. Our Guest Mark Metry LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/mark-metry Website: markmetry.com (Personal Website) , markmetry.com/humans-2-0-podcast (Podcast) Twitter: VUDreamOfficial Hacks to take Away With the usage of technology and the different advancements, we have the capacity to expand our minds and evolve in ways that are only captured in dreams and movies. When you gain more energy, that enables you to experience life on many different other dimensions that then enable your mind to give you the possibility that there was something more for you. The number one thing you have to do is take responsibility. The second thing you should do is take action. Number three is just finding a way. That's an endless like, that might seem overly simple to somebody, but that's all you need. If you got in an accident, it's still your responsibility. It's not your fault, if you had left five minutes earlier, you wouldn't be in an accident. And take action. Change your state, and then your mind will automatically make that a habit. So all you gotta do is change your state and you immediately in that new state of mind that you want to be in to move forward. It doesn't matter where you are, doesn't matter what you're doing. If you view it as important enough, and you prioritize it, you've got to just find a way to do it. Donald Souza quoted “mental toughness is waking up every single day and doing the same thing.” And there's definitely a point where that can be a bad thing. S2 Ep 70E270 - Monday Breakdown Week 27

Welcome back to another Monday breakdown, it's week #27 and we’re heading towards the end of the year. Summer has started off pretty good. But I have no idea where all of these rains are coming from. I mean seriously questioning the seasons right now. We had a jam packed week of some really awesome conversations with our guests on the podcast starting with Ashely Ann Jones on Tuesday as she walks us through how to use social media to grow your business. Rob Pearson talks about how to market, build and work on your business, Tom Malloy details and gives us a low down on how to approach and close investors for your film, with having raised over 25 million and an author of BankRoll, he knows whats up. Then Lila Smith gives us a sneak peak into her journey and how to say things better with ways to craft an accurate message for your audience. This week is full of some of the biggest names in podcast and voiceover, with experts that can communicate with our pets and an inspiring author and speaker telling us how you don’t need any approval to go get what you want. S2 Ep 69E269 - Lila Smith - How to say things better and get your messaging accurate.

In this episode, we get to chat with the fabulous Lila Smith, she started a brand new way of thinking and messaging platform called, say things better. For the first time ever she talks about her journey that’s not available on any other podcast. The story of Lila Smith as she goes from Theater to Coaching to developing a system that helps you say things better. So come back on Friday to check out Lila’s episode and learn to say things better. Our Guest Lila Smith LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/lilasmith Website: instagram.com/lilalasagna/ (Personal Website) , saythingsbetter.com (Company Website) Twitter: lilalasagna Hacks to take Away Collaborations are the milestones, the stepping stones to bigger and better things. The collective wisdom is sometimes easier to hear than the wisdom in our heads like you probably knew about stuff you could have been focusing on. But to hear a whole group of people reinforcing it. That's really powerful. Everything happens for a reason and the opportunities that are in our life or put there whether it's by God, or by chance. We all have one life, and lots of different pieces of experience that might seem desperate, they might seem like they're all over the place but we each are the through-line in our story. it almost doesn't matter what the words are through this part of it. it's just the way you're going to make someone feel with your communication. So being intentional about those things. If you make your voice go higher here and then lower here, it will sound more interesting. If you want to have an impact on someone, if you want to have an influence, at that moment, you have to be intentional this way about your communication. S2 Ep 68E268 - Tom Malloy - How to find, approach & close Investors for your film.

I get to speak with Tom Malloy. He's an actor, writer and producer. I had the opportunity to attend his workshop at the VIP film and TV summit here in Northern Virginia. And I learned a lot of amazing things about the movie business, especially from the production side of things. Tom has raised over 25 million dollars on indie films over the years and in this episode he talks about his experience into film making and his journey. He's the author to Bankroll the book. Our Guest Tom Malloy Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ActorTomMalloy Instagram: tommalloy Twitter: TommyMalloy Websites: trickcandle.com / imdb.com/name/nm0540176 / tommalloy.com / glasshousedistribution.com / tommalloycomedy.com Hacks to take Away If you're really committed, you should start taking those steps. And you know, making your own movie starting to play, sooner or later thaT you realize, Oh, crap, that's all I'm doing. And now you're 100% in the movie business. And that's a great feeling beautiful. Planning is always the key to future success or future, that if you had more of an idea first going in, maybe it wouldn't have got so it changed up. I started reading books and PDFs and playing and playing and playing. Now that was 2009. It says, and now it's almost 10 years later. And it's like, every tournament I walk into, I'm considered one of the top players one. And it's like, I won the Reno Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational two years ago, that's the one I used to host. What I love about it is that I played a lot, many celebrities, and people respect me now. Because here it is. If you would see me at first, but I'm playing and I had no idea what I was doing to now completely different stories. A tip for anybody is to make something that's really funny. And hopefully, it'll capture the Zeitgeist and get in front of the right people. Life would be an interesting one. And now the problem with that, it was always kind of a fun game to play. But the problem with the game of life was that if you had to follow certain paths. I enjoy living and the adventure of new things every day and so I'd say that what I would choose is probably your life for games. S2 Ep 67E267 - Rob Pearson - How to market, build and work on your business.

We get to talk with a good friend, Robert Pearson. I met Rob Pearson, back at work at web visible This was many, many years ago. And we stayed connected over the years. I noticed that he’s running an awesome company working on some of the concepts that I myself aspire to some day. We get to talk about marketing, building business, and the difference between working in the business vs on the business. You can get in touch with Rob over at Rareview.com. And through his social media: "80% of our lives should be giving back" Our Guest Rob Pearson LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robertpearson/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/pearson17 Twitter: https://twitter.com/robsreason Hacks to take Away Launched a company with his brothers called Tad to Ben, which was a full social network for tattoo enthusiasts. He was able to excel because he loves the work that he does. But the structure of the corporate world never really fit for. How I looked at innovation and how I looked at the things that motivated him and how he wanted to move forward in his career. Getting a little bit of that entrepreneurial bug early on, kind of let in, in kind of seeing the other side of it, the experience in the corporate world side of it. As we all know, in the agency world, working with clients has its own different challenges. But when you're your own boss, it's a whole different experience. So we had a really good treasure trove of clients, we could go after and really scale-out the marketing and brand side of our house, the Creative Advertising piece. And so you had built itself up to be pretty great and have a pretty great reputation. I didn't want to spend 20 years at a company getting paid to not do the work that I was super passionate about. Because I think building connections to moving forward is first to brand essential, especially when you're a freelancer or when you're running your own business. ——Connect with Hacks & Hobbies Here!—— You can find Hacks & Hobbies on these popular social media networks: Facebook: fb.com/hacksandhobbies LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hacksandhobbies Instagram: instagram.com/hacksandhobbies Twitter: twitter.com/hacksandhobbies or through our website: hacksandhobbies.com Learn more about your ad choices. S2 Ep 66E266 - Ashley Ann Jones - How to use social media to grow your business.

We get to speak with Ashley Ann Jones. She's a professional speaker, a social media strategist, a business builder, an award-winning event designer, she has been using social media to grow her audience to grow her business. And to make an impact in the world. I got to meet her through LinkedIn. And I really liked what she was doing with social media strategy. Our Guest Ashley Ann Jones LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/kingashleyann Websites: AshleyAnnsEvents.com (Company Website) , ashleyannsevents.com/apps/blog (Blog), bit.ly/KingAshleyAnn (Products & Services) Hacks to take Away I earned a few hundred bucks while I'm still in college. But that's the first time the little light bulb went off inside of my brain that I could get paid to do something that I was just naturally good at, and that I actually enjoy. I was spending 40 $50,000 a month, which is relatively small when you think about advertising. But when you're just starting out, that's a lot of money. So I was doing all of this stuff and I was getting cons but it was like very inconsistent. I have been taking these little classes online and learned a little bit about email marketing and stuff like that. But I still hadn't connected the dots of how that would work for me. Facebook cost me absolutely no money. I've been spending thousands of advertising and nothing had.I wouldn't get anything consistent. So really just kind of sparked it to really make me start diving deeper into social media marketing is like 10 years ago. I started establishing myself more as a resource online. So instead of just trying to showcase my work, which I would always show my word, I would just start basically storytelling before it became a thing. Content marketing is a big thing. It wasn't just to start showing people like my room or what things look like before. And if you can start the process of being consistent and kind of putting a little bit of structure to your content, you will get a gigantic return, because it's all about establishing yourself as a resource at the end. -- Connect with Hacks and Hobbies Here -- You can find Hacks & Hobbies on these popular social media networks: Facebook: fb.com/hacksandhobbies LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hacksandhobbies Instagram: instagram.com/hacksandhobbies Twitter: twitter.com/hacksandhobbies or through our website: hacksandhobbies.com Learn more about your ad choices. He wrote a fantastic book: called "Hourly Billing is Nuts" back in 2016. And he's got a great podcast called ditching hourly. I absolutely love what he's talking about, I felt that same pain, living in a world where you are masked as an hourly employee, rather than using your mind to do the job that you brought in to do, instead, you are counted in as a worker using your hands. Ever since listening to the podcast, this mindset has stuck with me. So check out the podcast on Tuesday and learn how to use your mind and ditch the hourly mentality. S2 Ep 55E255 - Monday breakdown week 24

Welcome back to another Monday breakdown, its week #24 that means we have 28 more weeks to go in 2019, Hacks and Hobbies is a podcast about life hacks and hobbies that I’ve tried out st one point in my life as well as some that I’m passionate about and growing them to make life enjoyable. Besides being a father of three kids and the age spread between them. There always comes a point when you want to almost automate some of the tasks so kids follow directions and we have a simpler life. But there’s a lot more to fatherhood and parenthood for that matter than just getting a kids to follow directions. It’s almost like a two way conversation and negotiation tactics that I’ve just gotta get good at. So yeah hobbies and life hacks, we’ve focused a lot of hobbies and talked to a few guests over the last 6-8 months. We’ve had the chance to listen to stories and journeys from book authors, screen writers, film producers and directors, entrepreneurs in so many industries, marketing, animal whisperers, life, business and performance couching. It’s certainly a very rich and diverse playing field. But I keep coming back to video production, beekeeping and cycling. With cycling I keep myself strong and limber, with beekeeping I have access to local and fresh honey and video production helps me focus on story telling and getting nitty gritty with video production specific gadgets, such as sliders, cranes, cameras and lighting gear. Last week you got to hear some awesome guests with Julian Smit, David Burkus, Alan Wade and Mike Graham This week we have some amazing ones! Learn more about your ad choices.
