Breakfast with Jesus | Easter Sunday Message
Jesus died on the cross, conquering sin, and rose again, defeating death. This is the truth we’re celebrating; listen in as Pastor Greg Laurie unravels the meaning behind Easter in a message titled, “Breakfast with Jesus.” Notes Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene in the garden by the tomb. Jesus appeared to two disciples having an animated conversation. Jesus appeared behind closed doors to the disciples. Jesus appeared to 500 at one time! When Jesus died on the cross, He conquered sin. When Jesus rose again from the dead, He defeated death. As Christians we want to go to Heaven. Death died when Christ arose. Death used to be an executioner; the resurrection just makes it a gardener. We come out of the grave because Jesus was willing to go into it. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we will one day receive a new body. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, our new glorified bodies will be much like His. People ask, “Will we know each other in Heaven?” We will “know fully” even as we are known. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, our bodies will no longer age, get sick, or break down. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we will also have resurrected relationships. This is the message of Easter: Christ came, He died, He rose, and He is here Scripture Referenced 1 Corinthians 15:20–22 1 John 3:2 1 Corinthians 13:12 — Join Pastor Greg Laurie in person or online at the Boise Harvest. The Holy Spirit and You, Part 2 | Non-Christians
In our natural bodies, there are many things inside that keep us alive, although we’ve never seen them. Antibodies, clotting agents, intestinal flora, white blood cells. Now, spiritually speaking, there are invisible forces at work that want to help us and save us, although other forces want to destroy us. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the work of God’s Spirit acquaints us with our sin, and acquaints us with our Savior. It’s important we know how to respond. “Christ’s Call to Courage” | Sunday Message
Pastor Greg Laurie delivers a message on courageous faith from Acts 23. Those arrested by anxiety, depression, or other burdens: listen in and learn how you can find peace with God! Notes We will see what Jesus both did and said to revive Paul. Paul was not afraid of death or hardship. The only thing he seemed to fear was the disapproval of God. The Lord stood by Paul in his hour of need. Jesus said to Paul, “Be of good courage!” Courage: the willingness to act in the face of fear. Moral courage: the ability to do what is right in the face of opposition or discouragement. It takes courage to: Live honestly and with integrity Honor the vows you made Speak up for Christ Jesus said, “Be of good courage” to: The paralytic man—the forgiveness of Jesus brought courage. The woman struggling to reach Him—the power of Jesus gave courage! The disciples on the storm-tossed sea—the presence of Jesus gives courage. 1. God reminded Paul that he was not alone. Jesus was forsaken so that you would never be forsaken. 2. God knew where Paul was and why he was there. Jesus is there for you in your hour of need too. 3. God still had a future for Paul. Our “job” is to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. Jesus showed raw physical courage when He went to the cross. God Walking Among Us | Today’s Daily Devotion from Pastor Greg
Today, we’re featuring Pastor Greg’s audio daily devotional in light of Palm Sunday. To receive this daily devotional in your inbox every day, just go to harvest.org/devo. This weekend we celebrate Palm Sunday. This was the day Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem while the crowds laid down palm branches in the road and shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Mark 11:9 NKJV). There was an air of expectancy in Jerusalem. The name of Jesus was on everyone’s lips. In fact, Luke’s gospel tells us, “The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away” (Luke 19:11 NLT). In other words, they thought this was it. They thought Jesus would establish His kingdom then and there. The Jewish people had been conquered by the Roman Empire, and they were under Roman control. They expected Jesus the Messiah to overthrow the power of Rome. But they failed to understand the prophecies that said before the Messiah would come and rule the Earth, He would die for the sins of the world. Before He would sit on the throne, He would go to the cross. Jesus wasn’t coming to overthrow Rome; He was coming to establish His kingdom in the hearts of men and women by dying for them on the cross. There’s never been a man who walked the earth like Jesus. He was fully God and fully man. He was God walking among us. He still had human emotions and felt physical pain. He felt hunger and thirst like human beings do. In fact, the Bible says of Him, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15 NKJV). This reminds us that Jesus knows what we’re going through right now. He understands, He cares, and He wants us to give our burdens to Him. --- Receive daily, biblical encouragement from Pastor Greg. Why Does God Allow Evil? | How to Deal with Sin
Romans tells us all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It’s something we all have in common. We’re sinners. The critical factor is what comes next. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie shows us in John how two of the Lord’s own committed sins – significant sins – while they were following the Lord. One chose the pathway of repentance and restoration, the other chose the path of rebellion and destruction. It’s a lesson today on how we should respond to our own sin. Why Does God Allow Evil? | What We Know
There’s a lot we don’t know about gravity. It’s a bit mysterious. But we know better than to fight against it, or jump off a building claiming it doesn’t exist. Some people find something mysterious about God and suddenly want to question His motives, or even His existence. Our finite mind won’t always understand the infinite mind of God. What Angers and Saddens God | Righteous Indignation
Usually, we don’t think of Jesus as getting angry. We have mental snapshots of Him healing the leper, bringing sight to the blind, feeding the multitudes with a few loaves and fish. His kindness and compassion were on display. But on rare occasion, His righteous indignation came to the surface. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie brings us one of those incidents. What Angers and Saddens God | Wrong Assumptions
Ever been pulled over by a police officer? It’s a nerve-wracking experience. There are videos on social media of people being pulled over, obviously confused about why, and the cop walks up and gives them an ice cream cone. Or some toys for the kids in the backseat. No Regrets | Doing More
When you’re on the road, every once in a while you may see an unusual speed limit sign. Most mention the maximum speed. But a few post the minimum. Why is that? Because if you fall below the minimum, you’re in danger. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us realize the danger of falling below the minimum in our walk with the Lord. No Regrets | Giving It All for the Lord
Many pastors are asked a variation of one particular question. Can I do such-and-such and still be a Christian? It’s never “can I tithe and still be a Christian?” It’s always something questionable, or clearly sinful. Essentially, it’s asking, “Can I give my all to Jesus but hold this one thing back?” Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie presents the flip side of that coin. We’ll see a New Testament story of a woman who gave it all for the Lord, including a most precious possession. When God Seems Late | Trusting God's Timing
Humans tend to be impatient by nature. And technology has made it worse. We can’t a week to receive a letter anymore. Send a fax? No, nobody does that either. Too slow. Send an e-mail. Better yet, a text. And make sure you abbreviate every word you can, LOL. How to Live a Meaningful Life | Sunday Message
God wants us to have a successful finish and part of that means helping Him reach those around us. Listen in as Pastor Greg Laurie explores Acts 19 and 20 to share “running tips” from the apostle Paul! Notes God used Paul powerfully, and miracles were happening! Whenever God is at work, the devil will be there to oppose. Satan is real and powerful. Jesus is much more powerful than Satan. The best defense is a good offense. Paul compares himself to a runner in a race (1 Corinthians 9:24). Paul warned to not “get off track.” Paul warned against looking back. Paul wanted to "finish his race with joy." It is a joyful thing to know and walk with God. We need to “play by the rules.” Paul compared himself to a steward. Everything we have has been given to us by God. Paul compared himself to a witness. Paul compared himself to a herald. Paul compared himself to a watchman. We all have 3 things to give to God: Our talent Our treasure Our time We are to be: Runners Stewards Witnesses Heralds Watchmen God wants all of us to finish well. The Race We Must Win | Running With Endurance
As a rule, people don’t walk much anymore. Oh, some might do a couple of miles on the treadmill at the gym, but they drove three laps around the parking lot to get the closest parking space. In biblical times, everybody walked . . . a lot! And running? Well, that was the speeding they did when they were late for work. We Can Work it Out | One on One
Some people say “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Others say “out of sight, out of mind.” The truth is, any relationship requires connection. What do we say about friends who’ve drifted completely out of our lives? “Oh, so-and-so is someone I used to know.” The same dynamic applies to our relationship with God. Upside-Down Living | Where Happiness Is Found
Celebrity marriages are twice as likely to end in divorce. The reason? Research shows the stars experience more pain and suffering than the rest of us. So you have people who are wealthy, famous, attractive, powerful – everything the world says is supposed to make one happy – and they’re miserable. Upside-Down Living | The Lord's Plan for Fulfillment

What Do You Live For? | True Satisfaction
So many people post pictures of their food on social media. And admittedly, a lot of it looks really good. But have you noticed the food that’s to die for is also the food you can die from? Isn’t that true? And in the bigger picture, that’s the way sin is. Are Russia and Ukraine in Bible Prophecy?
During these events in Ukraine, many people are asking whether this crisis has anything to do with Bible prophecy. Pastor Greg Laurie gives his answer: We’re all aware of what’s happening over in the Ukraine right now. They’re under attack from Russia, and people have asked the question, “Is there any significance to all of this prophetically?” Let me pull the camera back and say this: I believe we’re living in the last days. I believe Christ could come back at any moment. There are signs of the times the Bible tells us to be looking for. And in fact, Jesus likened it to labor pains in a woman who’s ready to give birth, the idea being the closer they get together, the closer you are to the birth. And as we see more signs—more things happening—they’re reminding us Christ is coming back again. Read more at harvest.org. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. How to Be an Encourager | Sunday Message
Everybody needs someone to encourage them in their walk of faith. In this Sunday morning episode, Pastor Greg Laurie notes the world-changing impact of one man who was known as the “son of encouragement.” Glean good news in this latest message from the book of Acts. Notes “The right word at the right time is like precious gold set in silver.” —Proverbs 25:11 75% of what we worry about never happens, but God will be with us when the other 15% happens. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” —Philippians 4:13 There is a place for criticism and correction. 1. An encourager sees the potential in others and cheers them on. Barnabas took Saul under his wing and true to his name, encouraged him! Do you know a Barnabas? Are you a Barnabas? Paul could not get the church to embrace him. New believers need Christians who will model for them what it is to follow Jesus. If we had more Barnabases, we would have more Pauls. Our calling is to lead others to Christ and then disciple them. The more I give, the more He gives to me. Have you ever led anyone to Jesus Christ? Have you discipled anyone? Everybody needs a Barnabas in their life at one time or another. When people are suffering, they don’t always need a prayer; they need an encourager. We are able to encourage others as we ourselves have suffered. 2. If you want to be an encourager, help other Christians to grow in their faith. “He encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord.” He will forgive you of all of your sin! Why God Sent a Savior | A Christmas Day Devotion
Merry Christmas! Today, we’re featuring today’s daily devotion from Pastor Greg Laurie for Saturday, December 25, 2021. We hope you have a blessed Christmas Day with friends and family. --- I heard about a couple that was going out of town for the Christmas weekend. They packed their luggage, dropped off the dog at a friend’s house, and then loaded up their SUV. They pulled out of the driveway and were driving down the street when the woman suddenly turned to her husband and said, “We forgot the baby!” They had to go back and collect their child, whom they had left in the house. That’s what Christmas is like for many people. How easy it is to miss the whole point. We trim our trees, hang our lights, and attend endless events, but we forget about the Baby. Did Jesus come to this earth so that we could shop and spend too much money on Christmas presents? Of course not. He actually came with the express purpose of dying on a cross for our sins. He said that He came “to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45 NLT). What’s in a Name? | Christmas Message
In this special Christmas episode, Pastor Greg Laurie teaches on the meaning of Jesus Christ's name and why it gives us hope! Notes At the name of Jesus Christ, every knee will bow! Isaiah 9:6 The Christmas story is about more than a birth but also a gift. 1. Jesus’ name is wonderful (this takes care of the dullness of life). Only God is awesome! 2. Jesus’ name is Counselor (this takes care of the decisions of life). 3. Jesus’ name is Mighty God (this takes care of the demands of life). Jesus Christ is Mighty God. 4. Jesus’ name is Everlasting Father (this takes care of the future of life). 5. Jesus’ name is Prince of Peace (this takes care of the disturbances of life). The incarnation was for the atonement; the birth of Jesus was so there would be the death of Jesus. Red is the color of Christmas because Jesus’ blood flowed from that cross for us. God offers a gift to you: Eternal life through Jesus Christ. Loving God: The First and Great Commandment
Sometimes it’s easiest to see our human idiosyncracies in other people. Take a toddler, for instance. The little one may be despairing over the toy...or the cookie...he can’t have – until daddy walks through the door, home from work. Suddenly, his focus changes and his little world is all about dad. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out, when our love and focus is on our Heavenly Father, we won’t despair for the things of this world. How to Have a Joyful Christmas | Sunday Message
Have you experienced the joy of Christmas? In today’s episode, Pastor Greg Laurie shares how the jubilance of the Advent season transcends even the toughest circumstances. Listen in for a new message from Luke 2. Notes The joy of Christmas is not in what’s opened Christmas day. Joy does not come from what is under the tree but from who died on the tree! The Lord needed Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem to fulfill Micah 5:2. History is His story. Jesus wasn’t a mere man or just one of the prophets. Jesus was God in human flesh! Christmas is not a rags-to-riches story, but rather a riches-to-rags story. When Jesus arrived, almost everyone missed it. 1. The highest message came initially to the lowest of people. 2. The message of the first Christmas was a message of joy! Great joy which shall be to all people! At the cross, Christ defeated sin. At the resurrection, Jesus defeated death. 3. Fear robs us of the joy of Christmas. “Do not be afraid, the Messiah has come!” The message of Christmas is fear not and have joy! The condition of joy is to let go of fear. Joy and happiness are something you choose, not wait to feel. “Rejoice in the Lord, always. Again, I will say, rejoice!” —Philippians 4:4 Joy is a powerful magnet the Christian has because the nonbeliever has nothing like it. 4. We can have joy this Christmas because we have a Savior: Christ the Lord. Jesus is not just your Savior; Jesus is also your Lord! The Writing Is on the Wall: Steadfast and Immovable
Be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. That was an exhortation from the Apostle Paul in First Corinthians. We DO the work of the Lord, and we’re to BE steadfast and immovable. When the winds of change blow through our culture, we’re to be solid as a rock. And today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie points out how to do that as we consider a man who showed us how NOT to do that. We’re considering an epic failure in the Old Testament. With God, Nothing Is Impossible | Sunday Message
Sometimes it is easy to forget that the people God chose as Jesus’ parents were young and, in many ways, unprepared. Yet Mary and Joseph trusted in God’s plan and were faithful. Starting off our Christmas series, Pastor Greg Laurie shows how God fulfills His promises through the obedience of regular people. Listen in for a message from Luke 1 and Matthew titled, “With God, Nothing Is Impossible.” Notes The word for power comes from the root word “dynamite.” Mary saw Jesus enter the world as her son and leave as her Savior. Mary was living in Nazareth. 1. Mary lived a Godly life in an ungodly place. Nazareth could be described as sin city. Mary models for us that it is possible to live a holy life in an unholy place. “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young.” Mary was a nobody in a nothing town in the middle of nowhere. God uses “nobodies” to tell everybody about somebody. The Lord hand-picked Mary to fulfill this prophecy. Troubled means “disturbed,” “confused,” or “failure to function.” 2. Mary was surprised that God had selected her and not someone else. Gabriel the Archangel tells Mary what the name of her child, the Messiah, was to be. Mary was willing to do whatever God wants! 3. Mary obeyed and magnified God. Mary wonders how she, being a virgin, will conceive and Gabriel says, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” —Luke 1:37 For with God nothing will be impossible! Joseph is an unsung hero of the Christmas story. 4. God chose Joseph just as surely as He chose Mary, to be a stepfather, a father figure for Jesus on Earth! Joseph was doubtful about the supernatural conception. The angel of the Lord came to Joseph, too! If there were no virgin birth, there would be no sinless Christ. If there is no sinless Christ, there would be no atonement. 1. Jesus came to die and give His life as a ransom for many. “For even the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve others, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” —Mark 10:45 2. Jesus was born in Bethlehem to bring life in all of its fullness. 3. Christ was born in a manger so that we could be born again! God has given us the ultimate gift. For with God nothing will be impossible! Scripture Referenced 1 Timothy 4:12 Isaiah 7:14 John 10:10 --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. The Refreshing Power of Sharing Your Faith: The Importance of Evangelism
Whatever we’ve accumulated in life, we can’t take it with us when life is over. Courage or Fear? | Today’s Daily Devotion from Pastor Greg
In today’s episode, you can hear Pastor Greg’s Laurie’s daily devotional from November 20, 2021. Learn how you can get this daily encouragement delivered to you in both text and audio form by going to https://harvest.org/resources/devotions/. Read the full devotion below! --- “Then Peter called to him, ‘Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.’ ‘Yes, come,’ Jesus said.” —Matthew 14:28–29 Courage or Fear? Let’s give credit where credit is due. No one else volunteered to walk on water—not James, not John, and not any of the other disciples. But Peter did. So Jesus told him, “Yes, come” (Matthew 14:29 NLT). What happened next? Matthew tells us that “Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!’ he shouted” (verses 29–30 NLT). Peter sank because he was afraid and because he took his eyes off Jesus. When fear reigns, faith is driven away. Fear and faith don’t hang out together. Either faith will be there, or fear will be there. But when one walks in, the other walks out. Sometimes we’re doing well, and then we look at the wind and waves in our lives, and we begin to sink. We check our email or social media, or we turn on the news, and it causes our hearts to panic. Peter began to sink because he took his eyes off Jesus. And when take our eyes off Jesus, we’re going to sink as well. When we forget God’s promises to us, we’ll start to sink. But then Peter called out to Jesus, and He “immediately reached out and grabbed [Peter]. ‘You have so little faith,’ Jesus said. ‘Why did you doubt me?’” (verse 31 NLT). In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I heard a doctor on the news say something that I’d never heard before: Courage uses the same pathways as fear. When you’re facing the storms of life, you have a choice: either you can be afraid, which is easy, or you can be courageous while you keep your eyes on Jesus. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. No One Is Beyond the Reach of God | Sunday Message
How does one go from being an enemy of the Christian faith to one of its key evangelists? In this episode, Pastor Greg Laurie surveys the most stunning conversion in the book of Acts—when Saul came to faith. Notes God gives us absolutes for our own protection. Religion can turn you from God. God promises that His Word will not return void. “Saul was uttering threats with every breath.” —Acts 9:1 Jesus is the only Way to God because the Bible says so! Only Jesus was qualified to bridge the gap between a Holy God and sinful man. We are not people of “a way” or even “a better way,” but “the only way.” Saul not only heard Jesus; Saul also saw Jesus! What were the goads Saul was kicking against? The arguments, life, and death of Stephen. The spread of the gospel and the response of the believers. The gospel is: “The power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes.” “May your money be destroyed with you.” —Acts 8:20 Be thankful for what God has given you! True repentance will result in a changed course in life. Two men placed side by side in Scripture: Simon and Saul. Simon wanted power and fame. Saul had power, fame, and influence and fought with Jesus, but ultimately Saul believed. Paul said two things to Jesus: “Who are You, and what do You want me to do?" They discuss the celebration of Thanksgiving for every Christian, tackle questions about Heaven and eternity, and look at the topic of happiness in relation to the Christian life. You’ll hear answers to questions such as: What do we actually have to be thankful for? What can Christians expect when they go to Heaven? Will we wear clothes in Heaven? Does belief in an afterlife change how we live today? Randy reminds us, “If your hope is in yourself, or your hope is in the economy, or stock market and your retirement plan, and your hope is always being healthy or wealthy or whatever, those things are not a solid or firm foundation for hope. Jesus Christ is the source of hope.” Randy Alcorn is a New York Times bestselling author of more than 50 books, including Heaven.
