It was fun to have both Drew Cove and Nate Wells on the podcast! We talked about the 1 point weekend at Penn State. The terrible power play. Vegoe has some interesting insight with the 2020-21 Season Ticket prices. And we of course preview the series with Michigan.

The Gophers get 5 out of 6 points in South Bend, but now the real fun begins! A HUGE weekend at the house of horrors for Minnesota as they head to Penn State! We cover all that along with special teams, the CCHA and the rest of the BigTen!

The weekend started out great for the Gophers against Michigan State with a win on Friday and a great start on Saturday. But that final period did them in and they settled for a split. We go over the entire weekend. Get in to how LaCombe, Johnson and Burke have been doing. Then we preview the series with Notre Dame.

The Gophers went in to Madison and swept the BADgers for their second consecutive sweep! The team looks like they are coming together at the right time! Can they continue that success this weekend against Michigan State? We discuss that as well as the big wins over Wisconsin.

It’s BADger week as the Gophers head to the Kohl Center for a matchup with Wisconsin. So of course we had Todd Milewski on from the Wisconsin State Journal on to preview that series. We also covered that wonderful sweep over Ohio State as well!

BTN’s Paul Caponigri is back with us again to talk all things BigTen Hockey. We go over the series with Michigan State and of course preview the Ohio State series. Some fun stories from Paul as well.

We are back after the December break to talk about the successful Mariucci Classic for the Gophers! We talk about that as well as answer quite a few of your questions. Then we preview the big road series with Michigan State.

We celebrate the life of Doug Woog after his passing on Saturday. Frank Mazzocco joins us to talk share his stories about The "Wooger". It was a treat to be able to have someone who will alway be linked to Doug on the show. Maybe my all time favorite podcast.

Former Ohio State Buckeye and BTN analyst Paul Caponigri joined us on the podcast as we talked about the terrible weekend against North Dakota and previewed the weekend against Ohio State.

We kick off a huge weekend of sports down at the U with one of our favorite guests! Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald joined us as we previewed the big series with North Dakota!

It was a VERY rough weekend for the Gophers against Penn State. We talk about that and all things BADgers with Wisconsin State Journal sports reporter Todd Milewski!

Something new from the GPL Podcast! A Quick Shift Podcast! From time to time we will have these Quick Shift Podcasts that are different from a regular GPL Podcast. They will be more of a single focus and allow us to have guests that would not normally be on a regular GPL Podcast. I had the opportunity to have former Gopher, Mike Carman on this new format for GPL. We talked about his recent frustrations he put out on Twitter and to talk about the current state of the program. We also went down memory lane a bit as well.

It was nice to have Hammy back on the podcast after a few weeks off! It was also a great weekend for the Gophers earning 5 out of 6 points on the road at Michigan. But, the offense continues to struggle and the power play must get better as Penn State comes to town this weekend. We cover all of that!

One of our favorite guests joined us for the 7th time on the GPL Podcast! Frank Mazzocco! We got a few fun stories out of Frank, so it is always a joy to have him on! We also covered the weekend against Notre Dame and previewed the Michigan series.

The Gophers had a rough weekend with the Bulldogs. Getting beat handly Friday night 5-2, but played much better Saturday up in Duluth losing 2-0. Vegoe and Jupiter go over that along with the special visitor at the rink this week. Notre Dame comes to town this weekend, so it does not get any easier.

We had the voice of Bulldog hockey, Bruce Ciskie, join us for the podcast this week. It was fun to get his perspective on the current state of UMD hockey as they try to get the “Three Peat” after winning back to back NCAA titles. So a lot of Gopher/Bulldog talk this week as we prep for the home and home series between the two long time rivals.

The new play-by-play voice of Gopher Hockey on FSNorth, Charlie Beattie, joined us on the podcast! We learn a bit about how he got the job at FSN and how he also plays hockey himself! Of course we go over the road split with Colorado College and preview the Niagara series at Mariucci this weekend as well.

We are back for season 9 of the GPL Podcast. We cover the departures and well as all of the new guys on the roster this season. Preview the CC series as well. Post show there is coach Motzko's audio from the weekly media briefing.

Not quite the ending we had hoped for huh? A few terrible calls. The one in OT was just BRUTAL. We talk about all that. The Robson departure. The possible departure of Pitlick. What's the plan for next season? All that and more!

The Gophers swept the Michigan Wolverines in their BigTen quarter final matchup. Is this team coming together at the right time? It looks like it! Unfortunately, the fans were not there to support them this weekend. There were record low crowds for a Gopher home series. We get heavily into the reason why the U may be in panic mode. We then get into the weekend BigTen semi-final games.

BTN's Paul Caponigri joined us to talk about the Big Ten Tournament. We also discussed the Arizona State sweep this past weekend by the Gopher's as well as what what lost due to how ASU played against Minnesota. (Dirty play) We also preview the big playoff series with Michigan.

A split with Notre Dame as our favorite team is still very hit or miss this season. But they DID at least secure home ice for the first round of the BigTen Playoffs. Now who they will end up playing is anyone's guess with how messed up the B1G standings are with 1 week to go. But this week Minnesota has a non-conference game against Arizona State. We discuss all of this on the podcast this week.

We also jumped in to the Robson situation and how he is likely gone after this season and who is coming in to replace him, and Schierhorn. Then we get in to the big weekend against Notre Dame. It was an UGLY weekend in "Hockey Valley" for the Gophers as they lose for the 6th straight time at Penn State over the last 2 season. We talk about that as well as the 2020-22 regional bids that just closed this past week. Then we preview the series at Ohio State.

We had a blast from the past as one of the original co-hosts, Ryan Cardinal, filled in for Hammy for the Podcast this week. We discuss yet another home split this season, this time against Michigan. The state of the attendance problems and what the U is doing to fix it. We also preview the weekend with Penn State.

We still cannot figure this team out as they split with the BADgers this past weekend. One great win that Motzko said was not great. Followed by a bad game that Motzko said was a really good game for the team. So who knows? We go over it all, and preview the series with Michigan.

Todd Milewski from the Wisconsin State Journal joins us on the podcast this week as we preview the big BADger series at Mariucci! The bad news is that Minnesota was swept at Michigan State for the fir time in DECADES. We talk about that painful weekend and what the heck went wrong. We also talk about how some new recruiting rules may be coming down the pipeline very soon!

A well earned sweep on the road against Notre Dame. Just what this team needed! We discuss the sweep and the great weekend that Robson, McLaughlin and Novak all had. Though this team is still in pairwise trouble due to the bad losses against FSU & SLU. We discuss all of that along with your questions. And we of course preview the series against Michigan State.

After a good weekend against Michigan before the break, the team came back from the holiday break with a win and loss against Ferris State. Not the way to start the 2nd half of the season. We talk all about that along with the return of the Mariucci Classic. The World Junior Tournament and of course the weekend series with Penn State.

After not being on the podcast for 3 years, Jess Myers made his return! We got quite a bit in to the new 3x3 format after the 1st overtime in league play. We also hit Jess up on his thoughts on the state of the program at Minnesota. Specifically how empty Mariucci has become. And of course we recapped the Ohio State games and previewed the series with Michigan.

We had BTN in studio analyst and former Buckeye Paul Caponigri join us on the podcast this week. He gave us a bit of national perspective on the Gopher split with MSU as well as the up and coming series with OSU. We also had a great discussion on the evolution of the BigTen Conference.

A split with St. Lawrence was just not good. Can this team get the season turned around? We talk about those chances.

Not a great result in Vegas as the Gophers go down to the Fighting Hawks 3-1. We discuss that along with the proposed recruiting changes that are coming down the pipeline for the NCAA. We then preview the home and home series with Mankato.

Had a great conversation with Brad Schlossman from the Grand Forks Herald. We talked quite a bit about his multi part piece on the formation of the NCHC. Reminisced a bit about the great games that MN and UND have had over the years. Our favorite games. And of course we also talked about the big game this weekend.

Great result for the Gophers against the defending champs with tie and a win. Their first win over UMD since 2014. Don Lucia is out after 19 years. Bob Motzko is the new Gopher head coach. We talk about ALL of that along with our thoughts on Mike Guentzel and a few others that were up for the job. Penn State sweeps Minnesota and forces them to come back to Hockey Valley this weekend for the BigTen playoffs. A lot of frustration with the fans over the games against PSU this past weekend.
