Former OSU player Paul Caponigri made his 10th appearance on the GPL Podcast to help us preview the series with the Buckeyes. Always fun to get him worked up about the hockey facilities at "The" Ohio State... But we did talk a lot of hockey. Like the spectacular weekend of hockey we just had with North Dakota.

Brad Schlossman from the Grand Forks herald joined us on the podcast to preview the big series with North Dakota. We recapped the previous games for both teams and also got the lay of the land for possible league changes in the future. Fun discussion with Brad!

Always fun having former Gopher Pat Micheletti on the GPL Podcast! We recapped the Lindenwood series. He gave his thoughts on quite a few players. Of course we previewed the big home and home series with Minnesota State as well!

We kicked off the 12th season of the GPL Podcast with a 2022-23 Gopher Hockey preview. We cover all the offseason news. Introduce all the Freshman. Talked about the current lines and pairings in practice so far as well.

We wrapped up the Gopher Hockey season during the show. Covered everything from who is staying and who is going. What went wrong at the Frozen Four and previewed next season!

The Gophers have advanced to the Frozen Four in Boston where they will face the Mavericks of Minnesota State. We cover ALL of that as well as the regional victories and the big Denver vs Michigan match up.

The Gophers lose to Michigan in the Big Ten Championship and now must forget and leave that loss behind. They now head to the NCAA Regional where they will face UMass and hopefully either Western Michigan or Northeastern. We cover all of that in the podcast.

We had BTN's Ben Holden on the podcast this week to preview the BigTen Championship game! It should be quite the game this weekend. A sold out Mariucci will be rockin!

Making his 2nd appearance on the GPL Podcast is Randy Johnson from the Star Tribune. We talked about the previous BigTen first round games and also previewed this weekends semifinal games.

We celebrate a regular season BigTen Championship with the one and only Pat Micheletti! The Gophers blanked the BADger over the weekend with a combined score of 13-0! We cover that along with some speculation on what is happening with Wisconsin with their huge drop this season.

Another big sweep and the Gophers killed some demons at Penn State. They also signed probably the biggest recruit for next season as well, so things are going well. BUT... It's BADger week and of course that means that we get Todd Milewski on the show to talk about all things Wisconsin Hockey.

The Gophers hit the road and got a HUGE sweep against Ohio State. We cover that great result as well as a bit of the US Team falling in the Olympics. Now the team heads to Hockey Valley and we’ll see if they can slay some ghosts.

Former Gopher goalie Eric Schierhorn joined us for the second time to give us his thoughts on the crazy goalie situation that Minnesota has found themselves in the last month. Gophers are still splitting weekends, it’s about time that they start putting a winning run of games together. They are going to need it to make the NCAA Tournament.

It was fun to have John King on the podcast for the 2nd time, at least after he fixed his Wifi issues. We got in to yet another up and down by the Gophers against Michigan. Got a bit in to what we would like to see while Faber, Knies and Meyers are gone for the Olympics. We also preview the games with Notre Dame this weekend.

A very disappointing weekend after the Gophers split with a not very good Alaska Fairbanks team. We talk about that debacle with Chris Long from KSTP TV Sports along with a preview the big weekend with Michigan.

What we thought would be a simple recap of Michigan State and preview Alaska with our guest Jess Myers… Turned in to a big news show when earlier this week Jack LaFontaine left the team to play with the Carolina Hurricanes. We cover that along with how the Gophers will pick up the pieces and keep moving forward. Just a very packed episode with goalie news, Covid, Injuries…. Oh and the team swept MSU!

I came to the conclusion during the podcast that this team needs to stop having players "be the hero". Just play smart hockey and the hero will come to you. Hopefully that starts happening this weekend! But this was a packed show as we talked about the Michigan split before the break. The cancelled World Junior Tournament. The Michigan blunder when they cancelled on Western Michigan. We even got a bit in to the exhibition games, the Michigan State series and also who from this team is expected to leave to play with Team USA for the Olympics. So a very busy episode!

Former Gopher Jack Ramsey joined us to close out the first half of the hockey season. Fun to have a recent Gopher on to give a bit of a different perspective on the split with UND and the up coming series with Michigan.

The best journalist in college hockey and one of our favorite guests, Brad Schlossman, joined us this week. We had a great show with him previewing the big Thanksgiving weekend series with North Dakota!

The Gophers once again came out on a Friday night and laid an egg! This time against Ohio State. We go over this, yet again, and tried to diagnose. We also got in to the jersey situation again. Of course we also preview the games with Penn State this weekend!

We celebrated our 200th show with with one of our favorite guests in Paul Caponigri. We also had a special appearances by Hammy, Cardinal and Frank Mazzocco to celebrate!

After having a false start to the season last week when Alaska had to reschedule the games with Minnesota due to Covid. We HOPE the season starts this weekend when Mercyhurst comes to town. So we brought our old friend, Nate Wells, to talk about that series and give us a bit of national perspective

We kicked off the new season of the GPL Podcast on a somber note as we discussed the terrible tragedy of Mack Motzko's death. But things perked up quickly with the return of Jack LaFontaine! We previewed a few of the freshman and also talked about a few returning players that need to step up their game. This team should be really good this year, can't wait for the season to start!

The win streak to begin the season ends at 10 as the Gophers lose the first game of the season against Wisconsin. But they got back to their winning ways for game two against the BADgers. We talk about all that and preview the series with Notre Dame.

We kick off the 10th season of the GPL Podcast with college hockey finally starting to get some clarity for the 2020-21 season. We talk about the craziness of the last 6+ months. The league only schedule with Arizona State mixed in. The NHL draft and the chances of Minnesota playing at Ridder Arena this season.

We looked forward to season #100 for Gopher Hockey. Talked about the likely incoming Freshman. Possible departures. Players that need to step up next season. We also speculated on some of the changes we may see in special teams. It was a fun year on the podcast, can't wait for next season!

The last few days were the craziest days in all of sports history. We just saw every sport close down due to the Coronavirus. And that included all of college hockey. There will be no NCAA Hockey Champion for the 2019-2020 season. That pretty much says it all.

We dive heavily in to the affects of the CoronaVirus is going to have on the end of the College Hockey season. And the affects to Minnesota are immediate as they will play in front of an empty Pegula Arena this weekend when they face Penn State. We cover all that as well as how the Gophers took out Notre Dame in order to get to play PSU. Also, just before we went on air, Bob Motzko signed a recruit! We have it all covered this week!

It was a rough close to the season for the Gophers as they only managed 1 point against Michigan and finished 4th in the B1G. We talked all about the series as well as the new season ticket prices, anticipated attendance this weekend, recruiting and flight risks. Then we get in to the do or die weekend against Notre Dame. It was a full show!
