... That's no moon ... It's Episode 15, the first of a whole new season, of Galactic Driftwood! That's right, new year, new season! This episode we start with the strange proliferation of light-sabers present for the recording, Ewoks as murder bears, Seth as Sith, facial hair in Star Trek, cosplay plans for Planet ComicCon 2019, the motivations of Emperor Palpatine, the Batusi and so much more!

A new challenger approaches! It's our Con Spectacular! Earlier in November the Galactic Driftwood crew attended Anime Nebraskon. Then later in the month we dressed up and went to Teslacon 9: The Battle of Britain! In Episode 14 we talk about our experiences, talk anime,cosplay, and share the interviews we got from at the cons. In addition, we're joined by new member Jenna Valadez and guest Linda Newman, who help us weigh in on representation in fiction as well as numerous other topics.

Season 1, Episode 13 of the Galactic Driftwood Podcast features a discussion of a new science fiction audio drama being produced right here in Omaha. Galactic Driftwood interviews Mary Oliver, Author and Artistic Director for the play and also playing the character of Moselle, and Katie Otten, Acting Director for the play and also playing the character of Bailey.The podcast touches a bit on the recent Anime Nebraskon (with full coverage of the con in our next episode), and we collectively determine each participants Force allignment, Jedi, Sith, or Gray.

Good news, everybody! Season 1, Episode 11 features a lot of discussion on the premier of the new season of Doctor Who, starring Jodie Whittaker, the wisdom of embedding teeth in your face, and measuring space distances by counting galaxies. Consider yourself warned for spoilers. We also talk about the upcoming season of Lost in Space, Seth makes a pun, John finally gets to talk about the Batawang, and much more!

Prepare for ludicrous speed! Season 1, Episode 10 features the crew talking about The Last Starfighter and at least one really bad idea for how “The Frontier” could have been created. They also talk about their favorite sci-fi monsters and John repeatedly calls Seth “Shawn”, for which there will eventually be vengeance.

Season 1, Episode 9 features Stu Burns, a local folklorist who joins us to talk about vampires in and out of fiction. We also discuss where folklore comes from and how it affects us today. We bid farewell to Burt Reynold's and talk about some of his obscure appearances in genre media.
