Ep 40Tis the season to be merry ! FBC Podcast - Episode 39
I wish we were and thanks to listener Mike who said we sounded like 4 blokes in a depressed state moaning down the pub over a pint - you're not wrong Ian, Mark , DaveFevs & Headhunter review Friday night's match action from Deepdale.Yes it was an improved 2nd half performance compared to the low bar set in recent weeks but there's something not right and we pin it on the coaching even allowing for the continuing injury crisis. We look forward to the next two games and reminisce on the 3rd anniversary of that famous victory over Man Utd - that seems a long time ago now! We're taking a short break over Christmas and will be doing a Live Pod at Midday on 30th December. Thanks for listening and every good wish for Christmas & beyond Hosted on Acast. Ep 39Time for Mark Ashton to .....
make a statement that this is a season like no other due to injuries & Covid and Dean has our full support as we go through this difficult time. Our objective is to be within 6 points of the play offs by February 1st by which time we should be able to field our full strength team and be able to finish the season strongly. He won't say that so in the meantime sit back and listen to Headhunter, DaveFevs & Mark discuss the nightmare before Christmas which is an appropriate title for another *hit show of a performance!!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 38A 90 minute performance - Rotherham [A] reviewed
City have often been accused this season of sustaining a level of performance over 90 minutes. They managed it at Rotherham yesterday, only problem was it was 90 minutes of possibly the worst football they have managed to produce in nearly 4 1/2 seasons of Championship football.Ian, DaveFevs, Mark & Headhunter are not happy as they discuss what went wrong in a game where you couldn't draw one single positive from.We also give our points prediction for the halfway stage of the season which is 5 games from here. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 37FBC POD : Blackburn [H] reviewed - no pies for Tony [Mowbray] !
It wasn't pretty but Fam's 82nd minute goal proved decisive against the Championship's top scorers and put City back in the Top Six.Ian, Mark & Headhunter dissect the action of a game that overall had 38 shots at goal but only 10 on target - an easy night for Bentley for a change! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 36The Ghost of Johnson Past !!!
Ian, Mark, DaveFevs & Headhunter review Brum at home, a side who must enjoy playing at Ashton Gate as this was their 8th win in their last 10 visits.DH is not producing much difference to his predecessor - over cautious tactics, very little service to the strikers. We also discuss LJ at Sunderland and end with Ian & DaveFevs having a very highbrow discussion about football finances!!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 35In Conversation with .... Geoff Twentyman
Geoff, the sporting voice of Radio Bristol for over 25 years, took time out to chat with me about a range of topics including:Growing up in a football family [his dad was Chief Scout for Liverpool], his professional career including that rare period in the 80's when the Gas had the better of things, his transition into broadcasting and how, first & foremost, his loyalty to his audience prevails over not asking the difficult questions which we've witnessed in recent exchanges with SL & MA.A really good session in which Geoff also reveals he got an O Level in Russian and that phrase Mind the Gap cropped up in conversation!!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 34Dizzy ! QPR [A] reviewed .....
A stirring 2nd half performance gave City all 3 points from their trip to West London and consolidates their position in the top 6 with a 1/3rd of the season completedIan, Mark, DaveFevs and Headhunter discuss a dreadful first half but then savour the performances of Nagy, O'Dowda and Rowe. We also discuss Training Ground Guru Lee Johnson and whether, whatever the outcome, 20-21 season with all its disruption gives Dean Holden a free hit in terms of achieving objectives set by MA. Why the title? Osayi-Samuel certainly made Jay De Silva Dizzy with a dazzling first half display but Tommy Rowe came to the rescue to nullify the threat in the 2nd half!!!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 33Animal Magic .... aka Reading [A] reviewed
City would have taken one helluva beating were it not for another stunning display in goal from Daniel Bentley. As it was Reading ended their win less run and City continued their miserable form against teams in the top half of the Championship.Ian, Mark and Headhunter discuss a disappointing performance all round. We briefly preview QPR away, have a good old moan, discuss job for Cotts and with this week's announcement of the closure of Bristol Zoo we share some childhood memories with Mark reminding us that Johnny Morris's Animal Magic show, teatime viewing on BBC1 in the 60s, was filmed there Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 32The Hand of Bentley !
We said before the game that a point against a side just relegated from the Premiership would not be a disappointment and with the late withdrawal of Kalas it was a major achievement.A flurry of corners in the closing stages might have brought all 3 points but City will look at Bentley's one handed instinctive save to tip the ball over the bar from Quina's powerful drive mid way through the 2nd half as the pivotal moment of the game.Ian, DaveFevs, Mark and Headhunter discuss the action, look forward to Reading away, ask whether Maradona was a champ or a cheat and give their view on the genital grabbing incident in the PNE vs Sheff Wed game last weekend Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 31MAGNIFICENT 7 !!
7 wins from the first 12 games put City into 3rd as Wayne Rooney's Derby County were gunned down at Ashton Gate by a fine Famara Diedhiou goal.Mark, DaveFevs, Ian & Headhunter review the action from another gritty display and look forward to Watford [H] on Wednesday. This was also City's first win at the 7th time of asking since 1964 on today's the day [SAT NOV 21] our new episode feature but sadly cut short by a power cut which brought a premature end to this episode!!! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 30Cook, Eat, Repeat !!

Tried the Chilli Flakes as seen on the show with Tony Wilkins fish .... mmmmm! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 29Martin's Magic Moment

See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 28NNNNNinteen ! City are victorious at The John Smiths Stadium
Tonight was the first time City have come from behind in a match to secure victory for the first time in 19 attempts!!!!Some aspects of the performance were pretty dire but Antoine Semenyo, whilst not scoring himself, gave a MOM performance in the 23 minutes he was on the pitch and City move back into the Top 6.We analyse the action and look forward to Friday's Severnside derby Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

5 games without a win now - streaky Holden?Ian, DaveFevs, Mark and I review the action from action from AG which saw dreadful defending see us 2-0 down inside 14 minutes. This just isn't good enough, Wells should not take any more pens, and its baffling how neither Massengo or Nagy got any minutes on the grass today. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 26Cherries on top and is Deano fixated with 3-5-2?
Ian, DaveFevs and I discuss the loss at Bournemouth when missed first half chances cost City dear.We question whether Dean will be minded to change the shape of the side or continue with his preference for a conventional midfielder alongside two lightweights. We also look at Reading's fine start with DaveFevs alerting us to the fact that they are treading a fine line on compliance with FFP Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
