FL 187 – We help David refine his avatar and apply new content creating strategies

"I really, really want to help people and do something to make their lives better BUT I don't think I'm even qualified to do it." Does this sound familiar? This is like saying, "I have superpowers and I want to help but I don't think I should because I'm not really a certified superhero." WHAT?! This is a mindset issue. It's sad that you feel this way when deep down you know: "I CAN DO SOMETHING." RIGHT. NOW. "But… b-but…" But what? Why do you let these excuses run your life? I don't know about you but it sure don't look like excuses are what the world needs right now. Excuses won't make your life worthwhile. And it is NOT what your people need to move their life forward. In Luke 12:48, the Bible says: "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." Let that wisdom sink in, y'all. Now, are you ready for the big epiphany that you've probably (secretly) knew all along? YOU have a wealth of skills and talents that can solve people's problems. Yes! We mean, YOU, reading this right now! The opportunity to move forward and succeed is right in front of you. So, what are you waiting for? Do the thing you said you'd do! TAKE ACTION and STRIVE FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT. Don't take your gifts for granted, don't waste your potential, and don't kill your purpose. Let everything you do, everything you are and everything you will become be for the greater good. Be in tune with your superpower, embrace it! EVOLVE. And then never stop evolving, dreaming and doing. Our guest this week is someone with an amazing "superpower." We'll be helping out a real-life cowboy get his horse training business online and overcome his aversion to technological know-how, so he can take it to the next level. It's going to be a huge transition but since training horses and cowboying it up are his superpowers, nothing's going to stop him from understanding the fundamental principles in building the foundations of a successful online business. And now, without further ado, here's David Neasons' story… David is a father of two teenage kids, married to his amazing wife, Katie, and is a day-working cowboy. Before we proceed, let's debunk the common misconception that cowboys equal to rodeo. There are different kinds of cowboys, with different skills that are remarkable labors of love. To cut it short, not all cowboys do rodeos, y'all! Some herd animals, some do the field work, and others are more like horsemen. Take David as an example, he is a working cowboy who specializes in horse training. Growing up in a family of cowboys, he started his first colt when he was in high school, and also trained several horses for other people to make some money while he was in college. But despite being a Texas A&M graduate, he found it difficult to decide which career to pursue, the world was changing and there were a lot of different paths to choose from. With tons of encouragement from Katie, David went on to start his career on horseback as a Feedyard Cowboy. He loved this job and immediately regretted leaving that for a nine-to-five career. By 2005, he decided to leave the office, pick up where he left off as a cowboy and help raise the kids at home. So, how exactly did he start going online if he's a full-time cowboy and horseman? Working with animals that weigh about ten times more than him, he is met with a lot of near misses and near death experiences on a daily basis. So, he goes on to share his daily escapades with his family and friends, to the point where it's almost a running joke that he almost always has at least one close call a day. But leave it to his wife to set the stage!

FL 186 – How to make $100 a day online

When we started our online business journey 6 years ago, our goal wasn't simply to make a few bucks online. We wanted to create a consistent stream of income that would pay the bills, meet our family's needs, and allow us to share lots of Can't Miss Moments with our kids and loved ones. But this is easier said than done. Trust us, we know the struggle is real! We know how hard it is to make ends meet, the stress of living paycheck to paycheck, and having little to no means of investing in ourselves, let alone start our own online business. We were parents of, then, very young children (Isaac was a preschooler and Anna Jo was an infant). We had full-time jobs, I was a history teacher and Jocelyn was a school librarian. We lived in Kentucky, where it's basically unheard of to make money online. So, how did we create the change that flipped our lives? The simple answer is... WE TOOK ACTION. It wasn't probably the best time to start an online business, but the clock was ticking and we had to make a choice. Now, we look back and we're just so grateful that we listened to our hearts. We did what we had to do, instead of just wasting our time waiting for the "right" moment. Because if we waited for everything to be perfect, I doubt we'd be where we are now. Our lives changed for the better because we decided to walk this path, invested in ourselves and believed in what we could share with the world. In this week's episode, we'll share 3 practical tips to help you make $100/day online: 1. ACTION IS THE CURE TO FEAR. We understand how terrifying it is to let go of all the indoctrinations the "world" has force-fed our minds... Go to school. Get a degree. Find a job. Start a family. Toil until you retire. Although your fear of the unknown is valid, you also have immeasurable potential. You have, within you, the power to create change in your life! Every time you take action, you take a step past that fear. Every time you take a step past those fears, you gain vital experience that you'll need to conquer future fears far greater than the one you've just defeated. You see, all it takes is for you to take that first step. And then the next step. And then the next. Rinse and repeat. So, don't underestimate yourself and all the amazing things you can share with the world. Your life is a constant testimony of resilience, so don't be so quick to limit yourself to what everybody else says your life should be. Step out of your comfort zone, my friend. :) There's more to life than keeping your dreams trapped behind that cage of self-doubt and fear of failure. It's time to embrace those bright and endless possibilities that your courage will afford you (and your family). If you haven't taken action yet, if you were too scared to try, then the moment is ripe for your picking! Remember... People who succeed are serious in creating success, they DO what it takes to make their lives better. Why? Because successful people are resilient. People who are not successful prefer to DO NOTHING, they are content with the mediocre. Why? Because mediocre is easier. Bottomline: Take action with the intent to succeed and you, ultimately, will. 2. Don't reinvent the wheel and chase fads. With so many tools and courses available in this day and age, it's quite hard to stay focused on what you really need to start, build and grow a successful online business. What you need: Website Product Software to market the product Software to protect the product (so that people can't just search for it and find it) A way to take payments A way to deliver the product. That's it. You don't need a $1,000 logo or 100,000 followers on those social media platforms to start making money online. Bottomline: Keep it simple! The things you need to start,

FL185 – We help Debi understand key strategies to successfully launch her online community

When life gets hard, sometimes we tend to blame ourselves too much and end up focusing on everything that has gone wrong. We'd say things like... "I don't have any skills to succeed." "Everybody else is moving forward except me, now it's already too late to catch up." Well, this podcast is all about overcoming your fears and helping you carve your success online in your own unique way! Your struggles do not define you, and CANNOT stop you as long as you don't give up. YOU have skills that are vital to your own success, as well as OTHER people's success. And the only one stopping you from becoming successful is you, doubting your own probability of success! Think about it… We live in Kentucky. People here aren't as technologically savvy as everyone else. Years ago people didn't know much about the internet, let alone that you can use it to earn yourself a decent living. WE didn't know much about it when we started either! Here's the truth: Everyone's starting point will be a little different, but anyone who wants a shot at success will have to invest the time and effort it takes to actually make it online. Your effort to move forward will always be met with some sort of resistance (because… PHYSICS!). But despite our success now, we DID struggle to succeed in the beginning just like everybody else. But the biggest factor that led us to success was that we stayed the course and learned from what wasn't working. We shifted our efforts to creating and improving products and services that would change the lives of so many budding talents in our online membership community. Struggling pushes us to evolve. It is up to us to find the lesson from our struggles, and use that lesson to become even better versions of ourselves in order to bless those around us. Because we're all here to help those whose lives we touch! Now, our guest this week has been working in the Airline Industry for over 3 decades. She has gone through her share of struggles and harnessed those experiences to be the support she wished she had access to while going through difficult times. Her name is Debi Talbert. And this is her story… Originally from Florida, Debi moved to Northern Kentucky in 2002 and later went back to Florida in 2011. She's been married to her husband, Duncan, for 20 years; she has 4 adult children, 5 delightful grandbabies, and 5 granddogs. She has been working as a Flight Attendant for 35 years but has had her retirement plan disappear when her company filed for bankruptcy. RETIREMENT PLAN… GONE. POOF! VANISHED! Although disappointed, Debi went on to start her entrepreneurial journey in order to sustain their current lifestyle, spend more time with her growing family, and finally be free from the bonds of corporate employment. She started out doing multi-level marketing, but her schedule proved to be much too random to sustain such a venture. So she looked for the next best thing: ONLINE BUSINESS. It wouldn't come as a surprise that she had decided to dive into online business and begin carving out her own internet success story, since she has always been fascinated with computers. She joined the Flip Your Life community, participated in forum conversations, found the support and insight she needed in order to take her next steps. Since starting her blog, she has been able to apply new ideas for her website to support her true calling, which is guiding high functioning women with extreme drinking habits stay sober But what makes her the expert? You might ask. Remember when we said that everyone has different life struggles that they have to deal with? Well, it just so happened that Debi's struggle was her attempt to silence her anxiety with excessive drinking. She was an introvert who was uncomfortable with her own voice, sharing her thoughts, guilty of her own private drinking prison. She ignored her pent-up emotions,

FL 184 – Our TOP 7 Time management tips that actually work for busy entrepreneurs

A couple of weeks ago on the podcast, we had a big discussion about time management and how important it was to kind of shift your mindset away from, "I don't have time," to, "I will find the time and I'm going to do whatever it takes to be successful." We're going to revisit that topic today and learn even more time management strategies. It gets much more practical with our 7 best time management tips. These are the time management tips that helped us build and grow a successful online business, allowed us to quit our jobs, and gave us the freedom that we have now to spend more time with each other and with our kids. In our experience, it doesn't matter where you are in your online business journey, everyone needs time management help. We all have the exact same amount of time, and almost everyone we know struggles at some point with time management. How you're managing your time is something you've got to reevaluate every now and then. One of the things that led to this series on time management in our podcast is because Jocelyn and I had kind of gotten off the path a little bit. We stopped using our calendar quite as much. We weren't getting into our normal routines. Things were getting a little hectic with the kids in school, and life just tends to knock you off of your time management plan and it's really up to you to go redirect your course. You've got to get back on the path and ask, "What are the fundamentals? What are the basics? What are the practical things that I can actually do to manage my time and make sure I'm getting everything done?" That's what we're going to talk about today. Tip #1: Stop letting other people kill your time. Set boundaries to protect your time from distractions and disruptions. We all have a set amount of time every day, so we have to be careful of who and what we spend our time on. Here are some of the things we did (that you can TOTALLY do too!) to take control of our time: Cancel voicemail Checking your voicemail a few minutes a day distracts you from more productive activities. Sure, you'd say, "But it's only a few minutes!" or "I really need to know who left that message." Ask yourself... Do I really NEED to check these voice messages? Why do I need this when there are better ways to communicate? Always find ways to do things and invest time better. Listening to voicemail is definitely not one of them. Take control of your inbox The people in your inbox should be helping you make progress in your life. Get rid of emails that are constantly vying for your time that aren't important, or aren't giving you the answers / resources you need to move forward. Unsubscribe. Delete. Empty your inbox. Do what you've got to do to get started on the right track. Worried about emergencies and urgent emails? If that's even the case, the people / company that sent that to you will stay in touch to get that message across. If you think you'll clean that up later… chances are you wont. So, do it now and do it fast. Shut off unnecessary phone notifications Your time is valuable. We know this. YOU KNOW THIS. So, why aren't you doing anything to eliminate time wasters? You don't need to be on your phone for every single notification that makes that sweet buzzing sound (or whatever sound it's supposed to make). Will knowing someone liked your photo make you money? NO. Will a game alert on Facebook grow your business? NO. So stop getting distracted with things that aren't making you successful. Invest your time and effort only on things that create abundance, freedom and success for you and your family. Get caller ID to filter important calls from unimportant calls Getting caller ID helps you identify calls you absolutely must take, from those you can call back later or even those you can ignore all together. Word to the wise,

FL 183 – How Sandra made over $700 a month in passive income while raising a newborn and fighting breast cancer

Here's the deal: Life can (and will) throw curveballs in our general direction when we least expect it. Things that are beyond our control, things that hurt and things that make us feel disconnected from everything else. And as if that's not enough, this often happens when we're already pretty overwhelmed. Nevertheless, we don't stop there… NO, we endure the challenges with everything we've got. WHY? Because we have the capability to persevere, to look for and find hope, to choose courage, to find peace in our faith -- to emerge victorious in our darkest hours. By now, y'all have probably noticed that we're going off our usual style here, and we're very happy that you did, because that means you're paying attention, and you'll be glad you did. You see, we've already recorded more than 180 podcast episodes. We've heard some really exceptional men and women share their finest hours, as well as recount some of their biggest trials, but none quite as inspiring as our guest, Sandra, has today. Sandra's story has moved and touched us so much that we laughed, ached and cried while recording. We learned so much from her today and you will too, it's going to get super interesting and super inspiring real quick. Here's her story... Sandra is a 34 years old Singaporean, who studied her music degree in the United Kingdom, married a Malaysian and lived in his home country for 5 years, and has always worked as a school music teacher. She struggled to conceive a child for many, many years. They've tried different fertility treatments, but was unsuccessful. Unfazed, she decided to dedicate her time and talent as a Worship Keyboardist to create something that would help and bless others. She searched for ways to do so, and later found out about the online business scene (because Sandra just ain't the kind to idly sit by and do nothing). She listened to several podcasts, dived deep into all the free content she could find, later joined the Flip Your Life community, and started building what she now calls, "The Inspired Keys Academy." She poured thousands of hours of hard work, creating content and leading her community, things were going great, she has been quite successful with her eBook sales as well. Just when you thought things couldn't get any better... She and her husband moved to Australia. New country. New house. New climate. Not to mention, their furniture hasn't even arrived yet, and then... PREGNANT. Sandra became pregnant despite all the new changes in her life! Can you believe just how miraculous that is? But now that she's expecting, she lost all interest in online business and kinda let it slide to the back burner, that doesn't mean she's lost her entrepreneurial spirit though. She was able to set up her own piano studio at home, where she teaches kids one-on-one, and months later had given birth to a healthy baby boy. Okay. Now, let's try that again… New country. New house. New climate. YAY! Pregnant. New piano studio at home. OH MY GOSH! Just gave birth. It doesn't stop there... 10 days after childbirth, Sandra got diagnosed with breast cancer. Let that sink in for a moment, that's the curveball right there. Like anybody receiving this kind of news, she broke down and cried. Factor in post pregnancy hormones and you're in for the craziest emotional roller coaster ride ever. But here's the thing that cancer didn't know, Sandra is probably the closest thing you have to Wonder Woman. With a "Never Give Up" attitude and her strong faith in God, Sandra was able to brush the dust off her shoulders and started counting her blessings. Remember that online business she put on the back burner? Well, it continued to earn her an average of 700 AUD a month. It was automated, so she wasn't even doing anything, how much more would she have earned if she kept growing her community? She thought about how blessed they were,

FL 182 – How busy parents can find the time to start, build, and grow a successful online business

Are you a busy parent not having enough time for your online business? On this week's episode, we're going to help you find 3-5 hours of time to start, build, and grow a successful online business. These are tried and tested strategies that we apply in our daily routines whenever we get pressed for time. Are you a time-pressed entrepreneur? This episode will help you step up your time management skills, and help you stay laser-focused on your goals. Are you a time-pressed parent? This episode is for you, online business or no online business. If you've been pushing that thing you said you'd do farther and farther away on your calendar, you're going to find heaps of insight to finally find, make and take control of your time. This episode is for everyone who has ever wondered, "Where has all my time gone?" So, stick around and ready your thinking hats, 'cause it's TIME to flip your life. 3 Steps to better time management Step 1: Always look at how you're spending your time. To be able to spend your time wisely, you need a firm understanding of your routines, you need to be honest with yourself and in what you need to do to transform your life for the better. WHAT YOU'RE DOING + WHEN YOU'RE DOING IT + HOW TO DO IT BETTER Knowing just the first two does not equate to effective time management, you must strive to do better. Ask yourself, "What can I do differently that can take me a step closer to my goals and dreams?" Remember, you need to work hard and work smart to become successful. Often times, we become blindsided by the sense of security brought about by our daily routine. You might think that you're doing everything to move your life forward, when in fact, more opportunities would have presented itself if you had been more mindful of how you're spending your time. We created the Flipped Lifestyle 168 hours grid in order to see where we were spending our time, because you know what they say, "Seek and you shall find!" After mapping our hours spent in a week, we realized that you can categorize your daily activities into: Non-negotiables - blocked time meant for things you NEED to do: Eat, sleep, spend time with kids, work, etc. Negotiables - time you spend on activities you want, but could otherwise have been spent on more productive endeavors: Watch TV, play games on your phone, etc. When you see the freed blocks of time right in front of you, you'd be surprised to know that YOU ACTUALLY DO HAVE THE TIME TO DO WHAT YOU SAID YOU SHOULD BE DOING - yeah, those things you said months / years ago. Keyword: Prioritize. Step 2: Make time for more important things. "If you want to do something, you'll find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse." Stop wasting your time hesitating and second-guessing! You've just shed some light on the things that truly matter, it's about time to work on making the right adjustments to start living the life you've always dreamed of. Wouldn't you rather be leagues closer to success by making time for what's important and taking action, than holding yourself back with all those excuses? If you've found a good hour or two (trust us, you will!), use it to launch yourself forward. If you haven't, well… roll up your sleeves, and MAKE TIME to put yourself in that catapult, because if you don't set yourself up for success, no one else will. Take control of your time, before it takes control of you. Keyword: Prioritize! Step 3: Politely say "NO" to external pressures Saying "NO" comes with a price. There will be raised eyebrows, there will be resistance to your shifting gears, but success is a labor of love, as with anything born out of love, you've got to be prepared to make some sacrifices. You need to say no to things that are holding you back from your goal, this can be activities you really enjoy, like watching TV or nights out, etc., but remember, this is only temporary.

FL 181 – We help Jeff refocus his sales funnel to create a consistent and sustainable online income

Cheers to another month full of new content and insight! Our Flip Your Life guest member this week is Clinical Psychologist, Human Leader and Keynote Speaker, Dr. Jeff Van Meter. Jeff started his career as an engineer with about 4 years of field experience before going back to school to pursue clinical psychology. His career shift led him to the Chicago suburbs where he eventually settled down and had a family. Dr. Van Meter has had reasonable success in his 25 years of clinical practice and as an entrepreneur. One of his unfair advantages is his innate penchant for public speaking which has allowed him to go on several leadership oriented speaking engagements. With 3 children almost ready for college, Jeff's entrepreneurial spirit kicked in. He started looking for other potential streams of income that's not tied to government and insurance regulations since this has had a negative impact on his paycheck. To start his online business, he needed something that won't burn him out, but still gave him the opportunity to change the lives of as many people as possible -- something that would take his family's life to the next level. He created several websites, attended several masterminds, followed a lot of advice from other well-meaning mentors, but this just blurred his focus and now his brand is suffering online identity crisis. Join us as we help Jeff consolidate his websites, highlight his strengths as a seasoned keynote speaker, and get his sales funnel back in shape. FL 180 – How to use Facebook Live and YouTube Live to grow your online business

Doing Facebook and YouTube LIVE broadcasts really help grow your online business! Yes, you heard it right. So in this week's episode, we're going to share our insight on live video content and how it can exponentially boost your audience's awareness of your brand. Recently, we've been doing several live events online, like Q&As and AMAs (ask-me-anything); we were testing this digital marketing strategy to see how it affects our brand and numbers. The results took us by surprise! There was a massive boost in our online followers, conversion rates and sales shortly after we've done live content. In a Forbes article, it said that 87% of online marketers are implementing the use of video content to grow their brands. This made us realize just how powerful social media is and how online entrepreneurs can benefit from this kind of content creation. Here's a summary of what we've learned about live video content, advantages and some pro tips to overcome that fear of being in front of the camera. 5 Advantages of using LIVE video content: Easy to create. Live videos are super simple and can often be done on your phone. You don't need fancy gear to share it online, no need for editing, and just gives you that freedom to do it anytime or anywhere you want. Boosts authority. If you present yourself as an expert, people are going to accept you as an expert. Doing live videos boosts your online authority, because people think you won't hit "record" if you're not qualified. Boosts authenticity. A live video allows your audience to relate to you on a deeper level. They get a sneak peek of who you are as a person, what your brand is about, and why you're doing what you're doing. Going live shows your audience that successful people are real and they have vulnerabilities too. This makes them eager to know you even more and relate to your story -- which makes them feel that they have a chance of becoming successful too. Engages your audience real time. Live videos notify people who follows your page real time, this gives them the opportunity to jump in and participate. Here, you can establish your credibility as the expert and foster engagement between members of your group. Boosts sales. Build enough curiosity with a good topic and description, and you'll get a huge sales boost. More live videos = more chances of even more people finding you. Ultimately, when more people see your content, the bigger the chance that they'll buy something from you. Pro tips: Do what makes you feel comfortable and confident. Use an outline to guide you through the video. Do it as often as you can, until it becomes routine. Get friends to view your live videos for practice. Build curiosity with a good topic and description. Remember that you have the power to kick trolls off of your group. Address the concern, but ignore unnecessary negative comments. Success Story of the Week: This week's success story is a special one because Jocelyn and I are going to celebrate a little success that we have had in our brand and we didn't even really know this had happened, is what's so funny because we set this goal last year. If you listen to our earlier episodes in 2016, you'll catch us sharing our goal from 2015, that we wanted to get 1,000 members in the Flip Your Life community. We wanted 1,000 people or more to be actively flipping their lives, chasing that flipped lifestyle, taking courses, taking action, and doing whatever it took to flip their life and we weren't even really paying attention. And one of our members posted a forum post in success forums that said, "Congrats, guys, you guys achieved your goal. There's over 1,000 members of the community!" It's just amazing and funny how goals work, we didn't focus on that goal.

Our Secret Weapon for Online Business Success

We've made it this far because of the conscious effort we put into the choices we make. Some choices have bigger impacts on your life and business than others. Today we'll share with you our secret weapons for online success. This is the single choice we made that helped us grow exponentially as husband and wife, as business partners and as entrepreneurs in general. What's our secret weapon? Choosing to invest in ourselves and attend live events! Attending live events has been the single biggest game changer in our online business. There's something about going to a live event that takes everything in your business to the next level. Being surrounded by entrepreneurs of every level is a huge opportunity far too good to pass up. WHY? Everyone who goes to a live event is serious about their business. No one is messing around. Everyone is there to work and make the right connections that will help transform their business in the future. We would not be where we are today, if we had not gone to those live events early in our journey. The revelations you get by meeting the mind (or minds) behind the content, behind the business, will blow you away! [Tweet "Attending live events has been the single biggest difference maker in our online business." - Jocelyn"] Now that we got your attention with the perks, here are some tips and tricks to get you LIVE event ready! How to Choose The Right Event For You AND Get The Most Out of It: "WHO IS LEADING THE GROUP?" You should trust the person leading you to your next step. Make sure you do your research and learn about who is hosting the event, what they value, the purpose of the event and if they have the content you need to start or grow your online business. "WHO IS GOING?" Take time to consider the size of the event. A smaller event gives a more personalized experience that lets you connect with others on a deeper level. There's less clutter, less noise, less competition for everyone's attention, so the opportunity to build relationships with your fellow entrepreneurs is greater. This also makes asking your questions and finding the right answers even easier. Remember: You're not there just for the content. Go connect, build and strengthen relationships with your fellow participants, doing so will make a huge difference to your business in the future. "WHAT ARE YOUR PRIORITIES VS THE REWARDS?" Invest in yourself and your business. We know how difficult it is for people to do this, but you must work on making a commitment to believe and invest in yourself and your business because the rewards are going to be bigger when you do. Overcome challenges and remove obstacles. Being a parent makes this even more complicated since there's going to be some guilt sinking in, "What will happen to the kids while I'm away?" But what if by attending this live event, your business takes off and in turn, it significantly makes your family's life better, would you now be willing to invest time, effort and money? You have to be ready to do whatever it takes to get to the next level and make that a priority. Are you investing your time, money and energy in a way that saves, frees up and generate you MORE time, money and energy? If the answer to the question above is "YES!" then you're already part of the 10% who's setting themselves up for success. If your answer is, "No," then there's no better time than the present to START making the changes needed to create a truly amazing life for your family. Being resourceful is a handy skill that all entrepreneurs must possess, practice resourcefulness and go do what you said you were going to do -- DO IT NOW. [Tweet ""Live events have 10x'd our business time and time again." - Shane"] Bonus Tips On Overcoming Challenges & Removing Obstacles: Try driving to the event location if flying there is too expensive for you. This also works well if you're living in relativ...

FL 177 – We help Neil & Kristen market themselves online to grow their online business

What does it take to attract people and get them to pay you for what you offer? How do you market yourself online? Let's find out in this episode with our guest Neil & Kristen Winking. They are a couple working on transitioning their experiences as wedding photography business owners to an online membership business model. Neil & Kristen owned a wedding photography business for about 5 years. Kristen ran their business full time, while Neil continued with his full time job and helped out as much as he could. Their business was born from their love of photography, but what they didn't expect were all of the back-end business responsibilities and the many, many hats that entrepreneurs wear to keep everything running smoothly. In fact, it was quite a struggle for them in the beginning as they were learning, sometimes the hard way, how to build and grow their wedding photography business. They became pretty successful, but relocated at the end of 2015, and with that the business closed. Once the family was settled in their new area, they just knew that they wanted to take their business online to allow them both the freedom and flexibility they need to spend more time with their 5 y/o son. They launched Hobby2Pro, where they provide coaching service to other wedding photographers in order for them to build and grow their own wedding photography business, just like they did. With their content and online infrastructure ready, they are faced with their biggest challenge: how do they market themselves? What does it take to really attract people and get them to pay you for what you offer? We're going to talk about how to overcome that mental hurdle of "tooting your own horn" and tactics that can supplement your mindset shift to get more people in your doors. Cold day, frozen lake, but with a HOT podcast! Now, grab a warm drink and get ready to take down notes. We're not going to let this weather keep us from taking action! Success Story of the Week: Today's success story from the Flip Your Life community forums comes from Sandra Chen. This is one of those MASSIVELY inspirational success stories that absolutely brought tears to our eyes, blew our minds and just motivated and inspired us to take action because... Sandra said, "I just did an online business profit chart from June to December 2017, and I was surprised to learn that I was able to earn AUD 760 on average per month. This year, I HARDLY worked on my online business. I focused a lot on my home piano teaching business, having just relocated to a brand new country and city of Melbourne, and trying to set some roots into the community. I spent much of the year pregnant, and shortly after childbirth grappled with a fresh diagnosis of Breast Cancer, and an intense chemotherapy schedule (ends March 2018) takes up ...

We went on a Disney cruise, we went to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for four days with my entire family to celebrate my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. We had three full vacations back to back to back. When we were teachers, we'd have to save and go on a vacation every other year. I mean some of you can probably relate to that. You can't just go on trip after trip after trip because it gets really expensive when you travel. FL Yearender Special: The 5 Steps to Making Your Dream A Reality

MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL! This week, we're focusing on getting you in shape for next year's abundance of opportunities by getting into the right mindset. But before we do, we'd like to let y'all know how thankful we are that you stuck around with us through 2017. It has been a wild ride, full of adventures, surprises and lessons. Congratulations on making it through this year, and we pray that the succeeding success stories be sweeter than the last. You guys rock! Now, let's get on to business… online business. The 5 Steps to Making Your Dream A Reality STEP 1: Celebrate last year's successes Take time to be grateful for what you've already achieved. Being mindfully appreciative of all your successes helps you to stay positive and focused on the target. If you don't celebrate your successes and are being too hard on yourself, negative things become amplified. What should you do when you feel bogged down? When personal victories are scarce, be happy for your loved ones' success, celebrate with them, and bask in that positive energy. Don't dwell on the bad stuff, learn from it and then move on. Channeling the spirit of gratitude is a powerful thing. There is so much good in the world, believe in it, and in yourself. Make gratitude a habit and you're already one step closer to your dream. STEP 2: Focus on experiences Hard set goals are good, but if you really think about it, you get that exhilaration from living in the moment. Experiences are things that move on to your next adventures, they add wisdom to your years and teaches you to persevere in times of hardship. Focus on what you FEEL as you're working towards your goals -- how are you experiencing your everyday life? The goal isn't all there is. Money isn't all there is. Fame isn't all there is. Now, be honest. What do YOU want to experience in life next year? STEP 3: Identify your areas of strength and weakness What do you need to learn in order to make those experiences possible? Focus on what makes the biggest impact in your life. Sometimes we aim at multiple targets in the hope that we'd hit a good opportunity, but this just distracts us from focusing all our efforts on hitting the best opportunity. Analyze your mindset and skills. Your success depends on what you put your mind into and the consistency of your actions. STEP 4: Take consistent action! Taking action builds your momentum to get to the next level. You can form this habit by committing yourself to the cause. There is no magic pill, success requires hard work, commitment and passion. When you take consistent action it allows you to learn more, experience more and consequently DO even more. What are three things you can do to make your life and others people's lives better? List and commit to three actions. BONUS: The conditioning of your mind becomes rewired when you take action, you are more alert and can make use of previous action's data to help you decide an even more educated next step. STEP 5: Focus on others: Paying it forward and giving back How are you going to help others? Amazing opportunities happen to genuinely helpful people. Giving is an awesome paradox. When you give, you receive. This is true, and for the most part, what we receive is something intangible like friendship and hope. These intangible treasures are a great source of fulfillment, and allows both the giver and the receiver to grow a mindset of abundance and gratitude. "And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." 2 Corinthians 9:8 Thank you for listening! Thanks again for listening to the show! If you liked it, make sure you share it with your friends and family! Our goal is to help as many families as possible change their lives through online business. Help us by sharing the show! FL Special: The 6 Phases of Successful Membership

Want insight on running a successful online membership business? Then this week's episode is a must hear for you. We're going to share the 6 Phases of a Successful Membership with YOU, dear listeners and fans. Recently, Jocelyn and I had our Flipped Lifestyle leadership excursion / vacation, where we took the time to talk about the future, reflect on the things we've learned this year, and enjoy some downtime to really unwind. We wanted to give you more insight on how to start and grow a successful membership community, so we summarized key points about the phases that make up the membership cycle. Happy listening and we wish y'all a very Merry Christmas! 6 Phases of a successful membership Phase One: Discovery Where people learn you exist -- cold traffic. Your audience can discover you through your podcasts, blog post, social media presence, marketing ad campaigns, etc. This is also where you start implementing your marketing plan to get yourself in front of as many people in your niche as possible. Phase Two: Learning Teach people what you're all about. The sales process of teaching them about what you offer, so that they will join your membership. Let people get to know you, your brand and what you have to offer. You can do this in a variety of ways, like creating a really strong "About Me" page. You can also do LIVE videos, just find ways to let people into your world and show them what makes you different from other people who may be offering the same product or service that you're offering. Help the people who have discovered you through the marketing plan, learn more about you and your brand, and sell them into your membership. Phase Three: Onboarding Getting people to join you as fast as possible by leading them to their first solution. Make sure that something is in place to welcome members who have just joined in your membership. Let them know that joining in was the right decision. What we do is we have a "Thank You Page" with a video that shows people how to find their login credentials and how to login to the community. The only page your paying customer is guaranteed to see is your "Thank You Page." If you rely on your customer receiving their email and opening them, but there just happens to be a glitch in the system, then they won't be able to get inside your community. So, give strong instructions and provide ways to get them immediate support in case they encounter any problems. "If they don't get access to what they've purchased, people will quit." - Shane Reach out to your people, especially the ones who haven't been logging in and let them know you're ready to serve them. Phase Four: Assimilation Let them know how your community culture works. If you don't assimilate your new members into your community, they are more likely to quit. So make sure you communicate with your people, don't leave them in the dark. Guide your members to their next course of action, be there for them and make them feel connected with your tribe. Phase Five: Participation This is where everybody becomes a family. They all hangout, getting into their routines and habits. This is also where the user starts leading themselves, taking accountability and helping other members. Instead of being just your tribe's leader, the setting changes into more of a "round table," where everybody is in this together -- unified under an ultimate purpose. You learn more about your members, the membership takes on a life of its own and it becomes a lot easier to manage, because your people have become more independent. Phase Six: Exit It is inevitable that most members will leave at some point for different reasons. You need to have a plan in place to ease this transition. The two things you must focus on in this event are: Learn why they're leaving so you can improve on areas of opportunities. Recover as many members as possible.

We are super excited to welcome two huge action takers on the show this week, members of the Flip Your Life community's international circle, Tita and Vincent Mangala. Tita & Vincent, originally from the Philippines, moved to Ontario, Canada a few years ago. They are both financial coaches, but Vincent primarily works as a service technician. They want to create an online business together in order to have the freedom to spend more time with their family and build a lasting legacy. Vincent has already created several websites and looks forward to monetizing them, but more isn't always better, especially when you have to invest time and money to grow your membership site. Holiday World is somewhere that I (Jocelyn) have been going for a very long time. I started going there, I think in the 80's when it was Santa Claus Land -- it is now Holiday World. We take the kids up there occasionally. We haven't been there in a couple of years, but we decided this year that we were going to go up because I had gone to my 20-year high school reunion. The kids love it, and the whole trip was just an awesome fun time. That's one of the biggest differences, I think between before and now when we travelled. When we use to travel, it was like you had to do it in certain times of the year. You had to do it on weekends, when everyone else had to do it. We always plan our trips now in a way where nobody else is there, or where half the people that are normally there are there. It just saves you so much stress and time. To remove that stress makes the trips more fun, which lets you have more memories and Can't Miss Moments, and that's just not possible without the Flipped Lifestyle. As they were wearing these t-shirts, I was like, "Our kids have a brand. Our eight-year-old and our six-year-old literally have their own brand." They're learning the fundamentals that's going to help them build their own businesses later. It's an opportunity you just never even think about when you're living the society life, the normal life, the 9-to-5 life, and you're doing things the way the world tells you to do it. If you haven't subscribed to their YouTube channel yet, please do! :-D You can go to FLKids.tv and that will take you to their YouTube channel, and please subscribe because they're obsessed with the number of subscribers. And like their videos, please like their videos. It will make their day, and that's what it's all about. It's just keeping them positive, keeping them encouraged. The goal is to help them create content, understand that they have a brand that has an identity, and just lay the foundation for their future endeavors whenever they get into this stuff. I really encourage you guys as you go through your online journey, we, as parents have a tendency to step away from our kids, and not let them be a part of it. Include them. What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast. It is great to be back with you again this week. We have got a different kind of episode for you this week. This is actually like breaking the rules a little bit but it's our show so we get to break the rules. Normally, we might have something that is on Jocelyn's and my mind, or we might bring on a member of our Flip Your Life community and help them take their business to the next level. But we are actually going to have a guest on the program here in a few minutes, and it is our new community manager, Kat. Before we bring on Kat, we are going to talk a little bit about why we are bringing on a community manager in the first place to help us inside the Flip Your Life community. For those of you who are in the community, you know that a lot of the members of our team, people that work with us to help us produce the community, produce the podcast are in there helping us get people the answers that they need to take their business to the next level. We felt like it was really important to bring on someone who is a successful entrepreneur, who knew what they were doing with some of the stuff that we were teaching to help everyone else make it to the next level, too. Jocelyn: At first, when we first started out our community, Shane and I were answering pretty much every single post. We still answer as many as we can, but as the community is growing, it has gotten harder and harder for us to do that. We want to make sure that there is still a voice in ther...

Success Story of the Week: Tommy runs a brand called The Cruise Dudes, and these are two of our original members from one of our original Flip Your Life groups back when it was just in beta. The Cruise Dudes guys showed up. We met them, we've built a great relationship with them over the years, and watching them grown their brand. They decided that they were going to release a digital magazine called Seawind, which is celebrating the cruising lifestyle, basically, and they just review cruises and do stuff like that. They just launched last week, and they came into the success forum to share this subject line, "75 Sales in 48 Hours." Tommy says, "Our digital magazine app, Seawind, launched Sunday afternoon on both the Apple store and Google Play Store. This morning, I reviewed the reports, and we've had 75 sales between the two platforms. Most of the purchases were from North America, but we were getting purchases from Europe and Asia, too. Over the next two weeks, I have interviews on a few travel podcasts and vlogs to promote the digital magazine. To say we are excited is putting it mildly. We are ecstatic." Seventy-five sales in 48 hours, that is absolutely incredible for any kind of launch, and we just couldn't be more proud of those guys for sticking with it, keep on going, and keep it grinding and keep trying to find what they can sell. That is why a lot of people don't succeed. They will try one thing, it didn't work the first time; "Well, it wasn't a miracle, I didn't win the lottery. I didn't hit the homerun, so I'm done." A lot of people in our community, what's so awesome about the Flip Your Life community, is they just keep swinging and hitting and swinging and hitting until they make themselves hit that home run. These guys have really hit a homerun; I think this is going to really take off for them. Good job, guys, we are extremely proud of you and it's just awesome to see what you've accomplished with your online business. We would love to help you write the success story for your online business. At the end of today's show,

Our Story – Chapter 4: How a lawnmower and 11 cents changed our lives forever

How time flies! It's amazing how far we've come, from being cogs of a machine to creating this life of freedom. We're going to continue our story, sharing with you our lowest lows to our highest highs and hope that this inspires you to take action and make YOUR dreams into a reality. Last week, we talked about the worst day of our life, a truly terrible experience with a daycare center where they were mistreating our son, and that awful experience with a boss at our workplace that made us say, "Hey, this is not the life for us. We are going to do something else. We are going to find something different." As much as we wanted to quit our jobs right there and then, we couldn't until we figure out a way to earn and replace our current income. We researched, brainstormed and had just so many ideas going on at once. It was really hard. We knew the goal, but we didn't know how to get there. The Bible says in Matthew 7:7, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." We were asking and seeking. It was only a matter of time before our prayers were answered. Check out how we discovered online business, the entrepreneurial struggles and our heart-stopping 11¢ moment! We're thrilled to share what relentless enthusiasm, decisive action and faith can do to flip your life. Welcome back to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast! So excited that you joined us today. We're getting into another chapter of our journey talking about how we basically went from employees to discovering online business to where we are today, living the Flipped Lifestyle. And on the last episode, we talked a lot about how we decided that we were going to try to do something different. We had settled in for the long haul, 27 years of teaching on each of us until we could retire. Life events happened that showed us that that was not the life that we wanted to live. We had a terrible experience with our child in a daycare center where they were mistreating him and then an awful experience with a boss at our workplace that basically made us say, "Hey, this is not the life for us. We are going to do something else, we are going to find something different." Jocelyn: And if there is one thing about us that you will realize from listening to all these stories and even things that we've done since then, we don't mess around. When we decide to do something, we find a way to get it done. Shane: That is really where we pick up today is, figuring out what we were going to do.

Welcome back to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast. Super excited to be back with you again today as Jocelyn and I continue our story about our entrepreneurial journey so that we can inspire you and show you what is possible, kind of what happened to us, this whirlwind ride that led to where we are today with the Flipped Lifestyle as compared to our old 9-to-5 jobs. In our last episode, we talked about how we got married, how we ended up finally getting married, then we got engaged. It was a really, really whirlwind process because I was coaching football. I just got a job at West Virginia as a graduate assistant. Jocelyn was living in Lexington, Kentucky. I was moving to Morgantown, and I basically called Jocelyn one day and we had a nice logical discussion about if we should get married or not. Jocelyn: Of course we did. Shane: Of course we did. Jocelyn: Because that's how I roll. Shane: I like to tell Jocelyn I was on one knee on the other end of the phone, she just couldn't see it at the time. Jocelyn: Yeah right. Shane: That is totally not true. We were just seriously having a good conversation. We decided that it would be a good idea that we should get married on July 3. What year did we get married? Jocelyn: 2004. Shane: 2004. Okay, that was a total man thing. Not even remembering the year. I do remember the date.

Our Story – Chapter 2: The Real World

Last week, we had a blast sharing our college days with y'all. We're now moving on to the next chapter of our story, what happened after we moved out of our dorms, graduated from college and suddenly catapulted to what we thought was the vast, fun and glorious real world. Our epic adventure starts with us moving to my hometown, where we took off our part-time adult training wheels, and went in to do some serious, "real world" adulting. You'd think that after getting our college degree we'd be all cozy and comfy, but we were in for a really big surprise. The real world wasn't what we expected it to be, jobs were hard to come by especially since we lived in a very small and rural area. Come to think of it, there were lots of times where we had to really reflect on our next move because there were crossroads everywhere. As a young adult, the corporate environment can be a pretty scary thing to conquer. Zero experience, zero assurance, and with no idea of what's going to happen next. This Chapter's highlights how we forged our career paths how we started figuring out what we wanted to do for ourselves how we supported each other to get to that next level Here's where you'll see most of our early entrepreneurial tendencies kicking in. From Jocelyn's setting of expectations, to Shane's just-do-something-and-see-what-happens, everything that happened then was preparing us to become the people we are today. If you've ever been a struggling 20-something years old, this is going to bring back so many feels. Tune in this week and keep tuning in, who knows? You just might connect the dots in your life and realize you too have the puzzle pieces you need to succeed online. [Tweet ""I started thinking how could I have fun and make money." - Shane"] [Tweet ""Worst-case scenario is they'd say 'no' & I'd have to do something else." - Shane"] [Tweet ""We've learned to turn our backs on negativity." - Jocelyn"] Bonus Trivia: Jocelyn didn't love her MBA classes, and is officially an MBA dropout. When I actually moved from Daphne (AL), Jocelyn and my dad went and rented a big van. This is how I knew that Jocelyn loved me, by the way, for sure. Even being apart, being stupid, and being immature, Jocelyn got in the truck with my dad and drove 13 hours to help me pack and move back home. How to propose to a Jocelyn: "Basically, if we don't get married now, I don't know if we'll ever have a chance to do it." / "Are you free on the 3rd?" Jocelyn's engagement ring had her birthstone on it, instead of a diamond. If you enjoyed this week's chapter, let us know in the comments or better yet, leave us an iTunes review. Our Story – Chapter 1: Love at First Sight

We're so excited to share this week's Our Story series with y'all! Last week, we let you in about our early life, where we came from, what it was like before Jocelyn and I knew each other. This week's chapter is actually about how we met in college at the University of Kentucky. The first time I ever got to talk to Jocelyn was when I was convinced that she was the woman I was going to marry. Chapter highlights How I won Jocelyn's love and attention How I tricked Jocelyn into being my girlfriend. Brace yourselves, things are going to get cheesy and then hilarious… really, really fast. [Tweet ""Don't live a "good enough" life, you don't have to live life planning for the worst case scenario.""] [Tweet ""Choose a mentality of abundance, success, drive -- strive for something more.""] [Tweet ""There is unlimited potential in all of us.""] BONUS TRIVIA: Gravity: How Shane got Jocelyn's attention... more or less. Jocelyn was born on March 27th, and I (Shane) was born on March 28th. When I told Jocelyn this, she was understandably skeptical. We both dreamed of going to the University of Kentucky, both drove a Buick, and had eventually moved to the "Wellness Dorm." Talk about fate! If you enjoyed this week's chapter, let us know in the comments or better yet, leave us an iTunes review. Next week, we'll talk about our first careers, when we really started pursuing our dreams and I'm going to share the story of my romantic storybook proposal to Jocelyn and how I convinced her to be my bride. What's up, everybody? Welcome back to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast. Great to be back with you again today. This is going to be a solo show with just me and Jocelyn. We are not going to have a guest on the program today. As we continue to tell you a little bit more about our story, about how two normal people from Kentucky were able to start an online business with no money, no time, while working full-time, raising kids, and basically, how maybe you can do it, too. That is what we are doing today, we are talking about the next chapter in our story. Last week, we told you a little bit about our early life about where we came from, where we grew up, before Jocelyn and I knew each other. The next chapter in our story is actually about how we met in college at the University of Kentucky. Jocelyn: Alright, in our last episode, we were talking about how young I was when I went to college. At the time, I thought I was all grown up and independent but looking back now, I realized how incredibly young and naïve I really was. Shane: You technically were not even legally of age. You are not even 18 years old when you moved away from home.

Our Story – Prologue: A Couple of Kids from Kentucky

What is going on, everybody? We are super excited to start our special podcast series where we'll be giving y'all the juicy details of who we are, where we started, what and how it happened. An author is writing a book about our story and part of that process is recording our story on audio for her to listen to in an interview style format. 4th Quit-iversary Special: How we flipped our lives & how you CAN too!

5 years ago, we were both working as school teachers, barely getting by and living on someone else's schedule. We were time-pressed parents with no control over our lives. Our greatest journey started with a thought, "We want total control of our lives." That thought led to questions like, "How can we achieve that?" which led us to take action, and THOSE actions later led to our success. It started with creating and selling lesson plans online, which now has evolved to an even bigger calling. It's been 4 years since we left our nine-to-five jobs. We're full-time online entrepreneurs serving our online community, all while having the freedom to spend more time with our kids and each other. Our lives have changed for the better because: We figured out our WHY. We opened our minds to the possibilities. We took action AND because we did whatever it took to flip our life. So, to commemorate our 4th quit-iversary, here are 3 of the most important lessons we learned that enabled us to quit our jobs: Mindset Shift #1: Real people can do this! Yes, this means YOU! :-) You might think that you're not enough, or that you don't have what it takes, that you need a PHD to come up with a brilliant idea or need decades of experience to succeed online… THAT IS NOT TRUE. There were other people like us online and they made it work, so why can't we? I was a 0-10 head coach at one time, and built an online business that sold football playbooks. Jocelyn was a librarian for just 3 years when she sold lesson plans on her website. Don't let the world dictate what you can and cannot do. Folks working nine-to-five jobs can make money online. Parents can make money online. Retired, empty-nesters can make money online. We believed and took action, that is why we made it. You are more than capable to succeed too! Mindset Shift #2: Making money is easier than you think When you're working for someone else, hard work doesn't always guarantee your family's financial security. When you trade in your time for that paycheck, that is time away from your spouse, your kids, and things you're really passionate about. Which brings us to mindset shift #2, making money is easier than you think! There is ALWAYS a way to make money online. Because: Solving problems = Money Bigger problems solved = More money The only one stopping you from making money online is, well, YOU. #YouCanDoIt Mindset Shift #3: We all HAVE the time 60 seconds in a minute. 60 minutes in an hour. 24 hours in a day. 168 hours a week! We all have the same set of time and it's really up to us HOW we spend it. Prioritize what's important. What are your non-negotiables? To make it online, you have to be ready to make sacrifices. That means, cutting down on watching TV and even saying no to night out with friends. The time you invest on building your online business today, can spell your success in the future, so you need to decide what stays and what needs to change. Take control of your time, don't let it control you. We hope you had as much fun learning with us as we have while recording this episode for y'all :-) Don't forget to watch out for the Flipped Lifestyle's "Our Story" Series, see you next week! The power of social media is at its peak now more than ever. As online entrepreneurs, we must learn how it works and how we can take advantage of it. Listen in on this episode to learn how to use social media platforms to grow your online membership community. We have another fantastic guest on the show today who's serving his community in a truly meaningful way. Flipping his life and online business to the next level is FYL community member & Church Tech Specialist, Paul Clifford. Paul has been married to his wife, Christina, for 18 years. They have two kids: Trinity and Ellie. He has been called to serve since his teenage years, but was unsure how to fulfill this purpose until he became Church Technician. He is an expert in a church presentation software -- ProPresenter, and has created several courses on it. Being a church tech is quite a lonely vocation, but Paul was dedicated to creating a platform by which he can help others like himself to provide high quality church presentations in order to improve the service experience. He started his online venture in February 2011 and has significantly grown his online presence and credibility. He has also created books and multiple courses that would lead his audience towards his online membership. Paul has already gotten his first 12 members. The questions now is, how do we ramp it up to 100? Join us as we help Paul understand the push and pull behind social media platforms, how to use that to his advantage and win the sales-numbers game. Success Story of the Week: Today's success story comes from Lea, and it is an awesome success story because we get so wrapped up as entrepreneurs in the money and in growing our memberships, and growing our businesses that we forget that our online business is changing people lives, are changing the world and that is what this one is about. The subject for this success story is, "Making an impact." Lea posted: "It's not often that we hear how we are impacting lives through the content and teachings we offer. I just had the best conversation with one of my followers. She told me that my recent blog post, 'Seven ways parents can help teens find their passion,' helped her reconnect with her daughter in a spectacularly meaningful way. She downloaded the lead magnet, and use the questions there as conversation starters to help her kid figure out what she really cared about. It brought to light a lot of the things mom didn't know about her teenager, and helped the daughter really feel better about her own path. The best part: the mom cried when she told me that it brought her closer to her teen. Their relationship has been strained for years, and this left them both feeling great.

FL 157 – We help Cynthia shift from one-off sales to upselling her online ASL resource membership

Our guest this week is a real inspiration! We're super excited to help Flip Your Life community member & ASL Resource Developer, Cynthia Long. Cynthia has been married 32 years, a mother of 3 AND grandmother of 3. Her passion in learning ASL began when her son had met a deaf boy in his study group. He said, "Mom, no one is talking to him." It's how they decided to learn sign language and she became hooked. She loved signing so much that she eventually got a degree in ASL. Because her passion was so strong, she took her board exam fresh off her first year. She was the first in her college to become Nationally Certified and later was the first to be Certified in the school district. After 8 years of interpreting in the school system, she noticed that there were no resources for deaf and hearing impaired kids. This led her to create Sign Baby Sign that was initially meant to teach babies ASL, and has now evolved to supplementing school systems with ASL resource. Their website is now ASLteachingresources.com and continues to expand its content. Cynthia's website is loaded with content and has generated income mostly from one-off sales. She is looking into turning her online business to lean towards a more sustainable and recurring feature. This brings us to her guest question, "How do I set up my membership site for my niche?" Join us as we help Cynthia pivot from one-off sales to the more passive income generating membership model. Are you interested on what the membership model can do for you and your business? Do you want to learn about its advantages and the strategies we use to implement it? Then get your thinking cap on and tune in, this episode just might take you to that next level you've been wanting to reach! Success Story of the Week: This week's success story comes from Sabrina, and Sabrina writes, "I just received my first payment from online retailers." The post says, "I just received my first payment from print on demand estimators of my book. I don't know which distributors they were. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Chapters Indigo, etc., but I sold 10 books." And there is a cool follow-up to this story. Sabrina actually just went to a conference. She sold a hundred more books. So she is really doing a great job promoting her content. A lot of people think it is just memberships, or it's just online business. But there are so many people doing so many different things in the Flip Your Life community, whether it is selling on Amazon, maybe it is reselling on eBay, or eight maybe even writing books and selling them in marketplaces like Amazon. There are some new ways to make money online, and Sabrina is just rocking it with the path that she chose. Good job! We would love to help you write the success story for your online business.

Kevin, on the other hand, is an awesome Head Chef, who at some point even managed his own restaurant. Lynda realized that they had to reassess their current lifestyle after her sister had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. They had sold paperback versions of their cookbooks and are now looking into generating a steady income stream by offering their digital products as well. FL 151 – We help Kristin create a sustainable, growing online membership community for her coaching site

How do you start an engaging online membership community where people come and stay month-after-month? That's what we're going to be analyzing with you and Kristin today. Joining us on today's show is a Private Mastermind participant and fellow educator, Kristin Houser. Kristin is currently working and researching as an Elementary School Instructional Coach. She has been in the education scene for about 13 years now, 7 years as a Classroom Teacher and 6 years as an Instructional Coach. She specializes in helping teachers maximize their potential and enable them to improve their way of teaching. During her transition from classroom teacher to instructional coach, she had been searching for content and possibly a community, where she could get the extra boost that could help her in her own coaching journey. Having found little information online, she decided to create a place to provide a solid resource for other coaches that she had wished to have while she was just starting out. Kristin wants to take her 6 years old blog a step and a leap further. More than just making some stable and recurring income, she wants to create a place where these professionals can get together and have a community. It's going to be a super action-packed day, AND it's also going to be a lot of fun. Don't miss it! FL 149 – We help Simone ramp her Christian music membership site into an engaging indie artist community

Need ideas on how to build your membership into an engaging community? Listen in as we discuss strategies on membership community to help our guest for today. On the Flipped Lifestyle podcast this week, we have the online entrepreneur behind ECHE Music, Simone Henry. Having been born to a family passionate about music, Simone grew up loving every aspect of it and used to sing in their church with her sisters. She was also fascinated with business and the internet, and went on to college and got a degree in Information Systems from business school. The Christian Jukebox was a wondrous blend of her many passions. She had gotten the idea after her sister emailed from Spain asking for help to find a recording of a song for the accompanying musicians to play during her performance. Simone did what any devoted sister would do, she scoured the internet but couldn't find a quality recording. She thought "there ought to be a place on the internet where I can get quality Christian music," and thus, The Christian Jukebox was born! This was simply the beginning. She later relinquished The Christian Jukebox and had launched ECHE Music in 2013. Her latest venture intends to bring together indie Christian artists, helping them learn about the music industry so that they can better spread their positive message to the world as well as sustain their lives and ministries. Simone is determined to turn her current membership layout into an indie artist's nest. Her question now is, how does one create an engaging membership community? Join us as we help her take her Christian music business to the next level, share strategies to encourage member engagement even when being a conversationalist isn't exactly your strong suit. SPECIAL EPISODE: Tips for outsourcing your life + News and Updates

Surprise! We've decided to create some extra special content to give our fans and listeners the latest scoop here at the Flipped Lifestyle and our Flip Your Life community. On our first weekend special, we're going to share tips on outsourcing tasks and just taking back some control over your time. We also have a huge announcement of a long awaited project in the works to help you connect with us easier. We also have Flip Your Life member, Paul Cameron, sharing what happens when you take immediate action and how it leads you to success. Paul's post says: "My podcast just aired today, S&J suggested that I completely rework my home page at speedupmyjobsearch.com, make it less text-y, change my get started button from blue to red, remove the ads, simplify everything and use the testimonials more strategically - so I did. I haven't had a new member in 2 months, but last Wednesday I made all the changes they suggested, then Thursday I got a new monthly member on my $19 plan, Friday I got a quarterly coaching member at $297 and Sunday I got a new full monthly member at $49 - all out of the blue! None of them had seen me speak before, none are in my autoresponder, they were just my website visitors. To top it off, I started a 2nd membership site a couple weeks ago because the 1st one had been struggling so much, it's no where near done yet, but yesterday, someone just joined that one for $100. That's $450 in one week from websites! Very cool." Success Story of the Week: Today's success story comes from Valerie. This is not actually a success story in terms of making progress for my business, but my husband and I have decided to follow in Shane and Jocelyn's footsteps, and downsize into our version of a Freedom Home. We're going from a large two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with an office to a one-bedroom, one bath apartment with no office. I'll be giving up an extra bathroom, and my beloved little office. Deep breath. But we will be saving about $500 a month, and it is in a quieter location with a pretty view, and trees and a private access to a lake and trails. I'm having a little anxiety, about moving into a much little space, and especially giving up my my office/work space/introverts getaway-- But I know we have to make sacrifices now to have what is really important to us later. Now, we just have to be sure we make the most of it. That is an awesome story, Valerie. We are so glad that you shared that in the community,
