Ep 71071 How to find work life balance - Solo episode
EThis week, I'm talking about finding balance in life and work. It is very hard to find, difficult to maintain and easy to disturb. For so many, it feels like an unattainable pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. The harder balance is to attain, the harder it is to maintain. As always, if you have questions about it - ask me. Ep 70070 Being there for your brothers (& yourself)' with FATB Zane Munro
EThis week I talk to Zane Munroe the founder of For All the Brothers, an IG account original designed as an outlet for Zane turned into a space that supports men and their mental health both online and offline at the events, walks and get-togethers the team now host. We also talk about THE MOMENT that a mate asked him 'Are you okay?' and what came after that... There are plenty of things out there to support men's mental health and remove the stigma around not being okay and asking for help, but what Zane and his team are really good at doing is creating safe spaces to connect with other men, being vulnerable and dig deep into what it means to be a brother. Ep 68068 Understanding Short Term Gratification - Solo Episode
EJoin me as I discuss why chasing the short-term hit is killing you... Where a lot of us live these days is in the continual cycle of short-term gratification of short-term pleasure. Which, in essence, is also the avoidance of short-term pain. Choosing the quick dopamine hit, the short-term gratification, that piece of pleasure. It could be drinking, quick and easy sex, alcohol, drugs, porn, tv, or social media... none of these things are necessarily good or bad, but if we're using them to avoid, distract or numb feeling something uncomfortable - We're chasing short-term pleasure to avoid, short-term pain. Ep 67067 Dealing with Flaky People - Solo with Mike
EToday's episode is a Q&A-style solo recording where I answer a question from someone in my audience. Often I'll explore how I would deal with that situation and how I would handle it, and maybe if someone is asking for advice, drop a little bit of advice. This one's from a female, and so I really enjoy answering these questions because it gives me a bit more of an insight into women, but also because I believe it gives us men, if you're listening, insight into women that may support us, whether you're straight or not, we all relate with women in some capacity. Today we're exploring dealing with flaky people. I love answering your question, so feel free to bring them to me. I am happy to put together many episodes for the podcast where we explore your questions, your situations, and your scenarios because, whilst it might be specific for you, I certainly have the ability to sit down and work out how we can make this relatable to many, many others. 065 Facing Your Shit - solo with Mike
In today's episode, we explore a simple concept of dealing with your shit. Why? Because when we don't deal with my shit I make it someone else's shit. In the episode, I explore my own personal examples of this from being single and dating and not being honest with myself or others and how I learned to make little justifications in my integrity, to then actually properly dealing with hat shit so I could overcome and move beyond it. This is a short and loving - yet at times direct and honest - call to action. For the men that feel resistance to this, maybe like it rubs the wrong way a tad too much, perhaps that's because it speaks to the truth. And, as Jordan Peterson says, "The truth cuts way deadwood, and most people are about 90% deadwood." If this hits hard, it's not a judgement, it's an invitation - it's time, as a brand new year kicks off, to face, own, deal with and overcome your shit. It IS what holds you back, while simultaneously being the key to what is available to you. Let's make 2023 THE year things not only move in the direction you want and have been wanting (for quite some time now...) but that you get to monumentally set up the next stage of your life onto the trajectory that is available to you. Get involved: Deal with YOUR shit If you feel the call to deal with your shit beyond a little bandaid and some fluffy surface level and quick-fix attempts at growth, if it's finally time to get real about this shit - then the EVERYDAY LEGENDS ACADEMY likely has the medicine for you. You can check out the info on it directly here. Or you can click here and start the process of exploring it. This process is designed to be simple and safe - answer some questions to bring clarity on the important points in your life right now, give me some info to better understand and support you, and get all the relevant info on the world of ELA you need so then we can work out if ELA and the work we do in the program and community and be THE solution for you as it has for so many men before you. Start here now: https://mikecampbell.com.au/ela-exploration-op/ I trust you get something from this episode. If you do, my small ask is that you send it on to a man you think will benefit from it, even if he is someone with the potential to have some resistance to listening to it. This work is about helping everyday men deal with their shit so they stop creating shit for themselves and others. Because that is the shit. 064 What we have wrong about integrity Solo episode
Integrity is often seen as this immovable strength. This often gets mistaken for rigidity. That, it is not. I've spoken many times about integrity - I've done a full solo episode exploring it before, but this time I wanted to bring in a punchy piece on where we tend to get integrity mistaken. In this short solo, episode I go into what integrity IS NOT - and with that, what it is. I share a couple of examples from this being tested in my own life. A small seemingly insignificant one, and a much larger and more really uncomfortable one. I trust you'll get something from this - and I invite you to share with me your reflections, lessons, and any questions you might have. Ep 58058 Working with your genetics with Kyle Riley
E"...We want things to be so fucking simple and cut and dry. And I see this so much in men as well, you know, like the black or white, it's one or the other." This week, I'm joined by Kyle Riley to talk about Epigenetics, which is the study of how the environment influences the genes and how we can work with them when it comes to our health, fitness and wellbeing. He dives into the age-old nature vs nurture debate and sheds some interesting insights into how our genes responses are based on both our biological genetics (nature) and on our environment (nurture). Kyle goes on to discuss the importance of understanding how you're naturally built, genetically, and then using that information in an empowering way to make better decisions to, create an environment that supports switching on good genes, suppressing genes don't want to have expressed. We also touch on the biological and behavioral differences between men and women and how these diffeences come from the level of the gene. "...When we want that black or white, I think when we're desperate for black or white life tends to have less colour you know, but when we can actually learn to be in the gray a bit more life can become more colorful." Kyle's Bio: Kyle is an International speaker and fitness entrepreneur who began his career with a degree in exercise science and since then has spent the last 11 years travelling the world educating and empowering both health professionals and clients in taking control of their health. A former teacher for the Australian Institute of Fitness and now the co-founder of ShaeFit technologies and the Precision Health Alliance. 057 Tall Poppy Syndrome - Solo Episode
EThis is gonna be a punchy little solo episode where I wanna talk about a topic that has come up a lot over the years within me, within my world, within my coaching, and within my content. Tall Poppy Syndrome - This is the concept that the poppy that rises above the rest, the person that rises above the rest, puts their neck out above the others will be cut back down to size. Growing up in New Zealand, if you are not humble to the point of belittling, self-deprecation and undervaluing yourself, then you're too big for your boots. Tall poppy syndrome becomes a kind of humility which is then turned into a virtue. But what's actually a type of self-humiliation and humility is not a form of self-humiliation. Humility is actually understanding your capability, owning it, honouring it, not belittling it, not overvaluing it, not overvaluing it over, inflating it either, but being okay with who you are, knowing that if you want to go beyond something and you don't have the tools. Ep 56056 Learning from Women with Kylie McBeath
E"...sister wounds have had a wide and vast impact on our ability to feel safe, whole and free. So we do need to do that healing work just as men need to heal in brotherhood." This week, I'm joined by Kylie McBeath as she talks about one of the deepest wounds that women have with one another, betrayal. She discusses that women have been sourcing their power and safety through men for generations, but there is a shift and women are currently breaking free from this. Kylie touches on how she builds a stable ground internally to feel more anchored within her own body and with her own connection to the earth which allows her to hold a higher bar of integrity; not only for herself, but everyone around her. For her, holding that bar of integrity is what leads to more liberation. "...even though it's sticky, even though not a lot of people want to meet that bar at times, I'm just like, that's the bar we get to hold when we feel really safe and grounded in our own selves is like, because really what happens is that re-embodiment, is re-sensitization process." Kylie's Bio: Kylie is the Co-Founder of the digital wellness community, Zura Health and the host of the Our Journey Home podcast. She is a writer, Earth guardian and mentor who supports humans in remembering who they are and their soul's purpose for being here at this time. She is on a mission to reclaim the Feminine principle and make this world a just and liberated place to call home. Ep 55055 The Myth of Discipline - Solo Episode
I'm bringing you a solo episode and I'm gonna jump straight into what we're talking about here and that is discipline. Why can't I just be more disciplined? The thing about a question like that is, we're not usually asking the question; because asking the question invites exploring the answer. Most of us just say it as a statement out of frustration, more like a wish; "I wish these people would be more disciplined" and guess where that gets you? Fucking nowhere. When I finally got deeply curious about discipline, it invited me into action. It invited me to look at the behaviours, the sabotages, the excuses, the rationalisations, the justifications, all the shit that pops up in the way of what we say we want and the actions to actually create that. Join me as I discuss my journey with discipline. As always, if you have questions about it - ask me. Hit me on social media @mikecampbellmc on Instagram or @Mike Campbell Man Coach on Facebook. 054 Self leadership & Better Performance with Brett Robbo
Sometimes in life, you meet people that seem to have a smile on their face that instantly brings one to yours. Brett Robbo is one of those people. A legend, no doubt, and a man who makes it easy to be better. A former elite athlete and now performance coach for men, Robbo is a force of grounded positivity and pragmatism, and a joy to talk with. I was honoured to meet Robbo a few years ago and now call him a friend, so I was stoked to bring him on the show. On this episode: In this episode, we cover many things from some of Robbo's story moving from high-performance sport as an athlete to the side of a coach. We also explore some great pieces from him including the model of 'be, do, have' - where he breaks down for us the tendency of so many men to focus on doing in an attempt to then be something, instead of first being something - embodying something - to then know what to do which then leads to having what we want. There is so much wisdom and awesomeness in Robbo, and he brings it to this conversation. I trust there will be something in it for you. As always, I appreciate you listening and express my gratitude in advance for you sharing this with any men in your life and leaving us a review on iTunes to support the show landing in front of more men who can benefit from it. Robbo's Bio: Brett Robbo is a proud husband and father, peak performance coach and optimistic lover of life. After almost two decades in high-performance sport as an athlete, performance therapist and high-performance coach with some of the world's best athletes, Robbo transitioned his skills into the non-sporting world after a major family tragedy changed his perspective and trajectory forever. Robbo is now on a mission to ensure all young men in Australia are provided safe spaces to learn and develop mental health and emotional intelligence skills from professional and inspirational role models so they too can become great men, great leaders and great role models. "In my work I empower middle aged men to become unbeatable in their mind, health, business and relationships. I am partnering with organisations that have amazing programs in place to train the younger generations of men so that my current work becomes irrelevant in the next generation, because they're already upskilled in life skills that we weren't taught about when we were younger". 053 - Preparing for Fatherhood with Ryan Pope
A few years ago I received a phone call that would change my life forever. Nardia was away in Sydney presenting a workshop. I was at home on the Gold Coast with a friend planning for a huge event we were putting on for men. My focus was deep in planning and ideation. The phone rang, I saw Nards' name on the screen and almost didn't answer because I was so in deep focus mode. I answered thinking something must be up seeing as she didn't just message a little update after her workshop ended. She spoke two words: "I'm pregnant". Well, fuck me if that didn't pull me out of focus mode immediately! At that moment things came up and shifted in me - a process of change and evolution started. Not only was facing fatherhood but the birth, and before that, all the preparation leading into the day our child came into the world. I'm fortunate to have spent time on my own awareness, in growth, and have good people and men around me, so I was able to prepare myself for these moments and experiences and shifts. But most men don't have this, we don't have support - truly - for becoming a father, for the actual birth experience and supporting our partner, and for the lead up to that day. Well, now we do. On today's podcast, I am speaking to a friend of mine Ryan Pope, whose partner, Amber Hawken from Episode ) recently gave birth to their son. In this episode: Ryan has since gone on to create a program and experience for men to prepare for these three stages: the pregnancy stage, the birth itself, and then stepping into fatherhood. I am pumped to talk about his own journey and how this process is formed. In this episode, we dive into all of that. While everyone's experiences are different, the stages we men go through and are asked to step into to become fathers have many consistent throughlines. Ryan and I explore that in this episode. I hope and trust you'll gain something from this episode, including - I estimate - a bunch of further questions. If so - good. Questions, when followed with curiosity, allow answers. Answers allow options. When it comes to living a better life - options are important. Dive in. share. Rate and review - I appreciate your support in getting this in front of more men. Ryan's Bio Ryan Pope is a chiropractor, breathwork instructor and holistic health and lifestyle coach. He is the CEO of Powerhouse Mind Body Chiro, a multidisciplinary wellness centre on the Gold Coast in Australia and Becoming The Mountain, a mentoring and events business focused on preparing men physically, mentally and emotionally for their rite of passage into fatherhood. Ryan facilitates mindfulness, and men's work and co-facilitates at Alchemy, a multi-modality healing and transformational retreat for men and women. His focus is on creating balance and harmony in self, life and relationships through nervous system regulation, acceptance and commitment therapy, self-reflection and mastering daily practices. Growth can be hard. AF. Facing the consequences of frustrating patterns can be daunting. Not only that, it can feel like a giant mountain to climb. Where to start? The sabotage? The mess-ups? The work required to be consistent and disciplined? How on earth we do become better when I'm still tied to a bunch of shit I've been spinning in for a long time? In this work on becoming more of ourselves, in becoming better men, stronger men, more dependable men, more emotionally literate and nimble men we come across many blocks, avenues, tips, tools, techniques, strategies and seemingly magic-sounding potions. In my experience, there is usually one thing that sits beneath all the shit we see and prevents us from even touching the strategies and tools - and that is a man's relationship to himself. Or, more specifically, his relationship to his self-worth; how he sees himself, and the beliefs he holds about his worth and worthiness. If you are running a story that exists somewhere in the vicinity of "I'm not good enough" such as "I am not worthy of love and belonging" "I don't deserve happiness and ease in life" or "I am unlovable" then this story and the little offspring that suckle at its teet will fuck your entire life. This will be THE bed upon which all of the frustrating shit in your life lives, grows, and festers. If you want to change all the disappointing ways you show up in relationships - it's not so much the communication techniques (although, they are extremely important), first it's the belief you hold about yourself because that will determine how you show up in the first place. It's not so much the morning routines or the ice baths or meditation or cock magick, it's how you view yourself, the level of self-respect you have, and if you believe that you are a worthwhile human. Or not. This is THE work for most guys to get the fuck out of their own way and start to not only access their potential and be a useful human, but to be better than they were yesterday. On this episode: So, yeah, it's important and tends to sit under most guys' shit. This is why I decided today to do a full podcast episode on understanding and building self-worth. Which, in itself is a bit of a misnomer. You don't build it per se, it just is. You build other things. In this episode I explore all of this, including such nuanced notions as: There's a difference between the following statements and knowing that difference, is important: "I am not good enough" "I am not being good enough" There is a difference in your worthiness as a person and man and how you are choosing to be. So, let's explore it. 051 - real sex education for men with Alex White
There's something about nature that always brings me back to being centred - to feeling peaceful, or at the very least, brings me back into a clearer conversation with myself. It's as if it's a reminder of our very humanness - being in the arena we lived in and evolved via for millennia. While talking about 'nature' can conjure up hugging trees, it can be a very simple, actionable and tangible way to improve one's life. That's what I found with this week's guest - Alex White. Alex is someone I've known for a few years through a different lens - that of a sex and intimacy coach for men, but with a shift in his work and geography to retreat space owner and nature-based guide, this conversation covered a few enlightening topics and down to basics strategies for slowing down and getting grounded in one's self. In this episode: We explore some of the work that Alex is doing and facilitating in his nature retreat, including some of the simple things we men can do now to support our nervous system and create a calmer and better relationship with ourselves and those we relate to. We also take the tangent into sex and go exploring one of the topics I think most of us have varied but generally speaking poor experiences with; sex education. Alex takes on a journey of essentially what wasn't so great that we learnt, where that has taken us as men and individuals and what could be a more effective way of being educated in sex. I trust you'll find something to learn and help shift some awareness in you, as well as some things to go and action in this episode. As always, please share this with those men you think could benefit from it, and do me a solid by adding a review of iTunes - this is a hugely powerful way of getting this in the eyes and ears of more men who need to dig into, get past and take ownership of their shit. Alex's Bio: Nature-Based Guide and Retreat Manager "I am driven to create spaces of love, love of nature, each other and one's self. My life is directed towards being a nature guide, super dad and creative adventurer. A former digital strategist and art teacher, I hold a variety of skills that combine to offer uniquely intimate experiences. With training in movement, meditation, massage and coaching I enjoy 1:1 and group facilitation focused on somatic awareness and play. My being and the land I care for are cultivated to guide people towards deeper relationships with their own body and its natural state of expansion and creative expression, all with the support of and connection to our natural world." Moment #9 Shifting your perspective with Josh Reid Jones

050 - Changing your relationship to money with Selina Gray
Money - we want it, we like it, it makes the world go round. Right? Well, what can be seen as an incredibly simple thing to survive and thrive, money tends to hold some real deep anchors for most of us. Personally, I grew up with the idea implanted in my bones that "money doesn't grow on trees" and that having a lot of money is something that happens when you either get famous and 'succeed' or become a doctor or lawyer. Over time I have had to change my idea around money, the stories I hold about money, and how I actually relate to and with money. What am I talking about? Well, do you save or spend? Do you value it or vanish it? Do you earn it but never seem to have any of it? Do you place your worth in it and only feel like you are valuable or successful when you've earnt a lot of it? Do you even allow yourself to enjoy it? Or is most of your life spent earning more money to create more financial freedom but never seem to feel like there's ever enough? On this episode: This week I have brought on one of the best minds I have seen, heard, and worked with (she is my money coach) when it comes to understanding money and our relationship to it: Selina Gray. In this episode, we dive into one of the big ways in which the money story plays out for men, and that's in our need to provide and often specifically provide financial security. Selina takes us into various examples and avenues of breaking down the old stories money have had in our lives and how to better understand it to create a better relationship with it. It's easy to say "I just need more money" but for many people, we get more and we lose or spend more. Selina helps us explore why we do what we do with money and invites a healthier way to let money come to us and detach our sense of self worth from money. I loved this chat and find the exploration into money to be one of the stickiest conversations for many people, which, by default, means it holds so much power over us. Until we can talk about with ease it, we can't feel free with it. Selina helps us get closer to that place in this episode. Like, subscribe, download, leave a review - help me help more men with this show. Much love. Selina's Bio: As a CPA, CA, I was a firm believer in the hustle. For nearly a decade, I worked 100+ hour workweeks as a Controller for two internationally traded public companies managing 30 finance ninjas in 12 countries worldwide. My life was centred around praise, power, & managing hundred-million-dollar plus budgets. It all came crashing down one day - I ended up with a lengthy hospital stay & an auto-immune disease. I was burnt out & it was my wake-up call to find my highest self & ultimately change my relationship with money. As a Business & Wealth Mentor, I have helped thousands of entrepreneurs build multi 6/7 figure businesses to liberated richness: more profit, more joy, more freedom. Your Revolution awaits. 049 - Creating a brand for men from scratch with Luc Wiesman
Many men dream of leaving their job to start something new, maybe even a business. But then we're faced with the reality of leaving something secure, a solid paycheck and our basic survival needs taken care of. These two things can often wrestle with a man's desire to apply himself to something meaningful, challenging, and inherently his. There's something about building or creating your own thing that speaks to so many men. But the risk of leaving behind the safe and secure can be all too overwhelming, to the degree that many men just stick with what's safe. Not today's guest. Luc Wiesman started a website 'in his parent's basement (in the home he was renting off his parents) directed at giving men all the cool shit we often want; watches, travel, fashion, popular culture, cars. You name it, Dmarge became one of the first homes for curated men's lifestyle content in Australia. On this episode: Admittedly by Luc, the site was first a way to get invited to cool events, it soon became a realistic avenue for leaving his well paying job and putting all of this creative drive and energy into something entirely his. In this chat with Luc we explore some of the specifics of leaving his job and stepping fully into his own gig, and the journey Dmarge has gone on as a brand from cool shit for men to intentionally choosing to be a site of all things for men. This final piece really chooses to draw a line in the sand and say men need to be able to access content of all sorts including for our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. And so, Dmarge has evolved to really be FOR MEN. And, as it turns out, this evolution has somewhat mirrored the evolution Luc himself has gone on. In this chat we also explore his own deep dive into himself, finding himself on a retreat with 25 strangers diving into his deepest shit and coming out the other side so much better for it. This chat brings a range of things from leaving a cushy job to taking on something with more purpose, to facing your shit and learning to have more compassion for our fathers. I trust there will be something in here for you. Please share it with a man you think could benefit from it - give us a like, subscribe and review, it's a huge help in getting this in front of more men that it could support.
