The return of the US Rotax Grand Nationals was marked with the 2020 event held inside the Charlotte Motor Speedway on September 17-19. It was a historic event, with the branded event making a return for the first time since 2018 and also marking the first time at the Concord, North Carolina on the newly repaved circuit. Five Rotax Max Challenge categories battled for the Grand Nationals crown, in addition to a Pro 4 Cycle category for $1,000. Nine tickets were awarded on the weekend to drivers joining the Team USA squad for the 2020 Rotax Grand Finals in Portugal. COVID-19 put an early end to the start of the 2020 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour in March during the WinterNationals. As the pandemic transpired, SKUSA had to adjust the 2020 program and came up with the unique opportunity to complete six rounds of racing in 10 days. The SKUSA Pro Tour Summer Festival was born, set to be held on August 6-9 for Rounds One, Two and Three with August 13-16 to hold Rounds Four, Five and Six, all at the New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. This episode of the EKN OutLap - presented by Leading Edge Motorsports - has Rob Howden and David Cole, previews the two events on two different layouts in two back-to-back weekends.

The fourth annual USAC Karting Battle at the Brickyard was held on July 31-August 2 inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Karters from all over the country converged into the famed Brickyard for what is know penned as the largest club race in the USA. From Briggs to shifterkarts, all enjoyed three days of racing around a super-fast circuit, gunning for a Brick trophy to take home. 18 different divisions were welcomed at the event, reaching over 430 entries on the grounds. Rob Howden and David Cole were trackside, but unlike other events, as they each competed in two different categories on the weekend. They were still able to breakdown the event in this new episode of the ‘EKN Debrief’ - thanks to Briggs & Stratton Racing. After a four week hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EKN Trackside Live is ready to return back home, basically our second home at the New Castle Motorsports Park for what is now the 2020 opener of the United States Pro Kart Series. After a cancellation of the opener in March and postponement for their event in June, the series kicks off the season at what was originally schedule as the season finale. A record-breaking 223 entries will compete on July 17-19 at the New Castle, Indiana facility. This episode of the EKN OutLap - presented by MG Tires - has Rob Howden and David Cole preview the seven IAME categories competing on the weekend.

Saturday evening, the duo sat down in the hotel lobby following a busy day on track to welcome a number of guests and discuss the latest news in the sport. Six-time world karting champion Mike Wilson was among the guests, including Mike Giessen, Chris Lobaugh, Chris Wehrheim, and Matt Jaskol.

A number of industry members and karters from all over North America and the world converged on the Pheasant Run Resort to introduce the new products for the season and network within the community. Super Kart Illustrated, the magazine for Howden Media Group at the time, held their annual SKI Awards for the 2005 season. HMG owner Rob Howden Super Kart Illustrated editor Tim Blaney and EKN Managing Editor David Cole set up in the Champion Racing compound Saturday evening for the inaugural show. Champion Racing co-owner Rodney Berryhill was among the guests along with Stars owner Paul Zalud and ICC driver Ron White.
