Every Labor Day weekend, karters from all over converge on the Quad Cities area to compete for two days in the city streets, ready to celebrate the 25th edition on August 31-September 1. The United States Pro Kart Series completed its 2019 season on the July 26-28 weekend at the New Castle Motorsports Park. It was a true honor to be part of the third annual USAC Karting Battle at the Brickyard, inside the hollowed grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Grassroots racing has been a focus for Margay Racing since the beginning. The leading ‘Made in the USA’ chassis manufacturer continues to feed club tracks and series with the products to get on track and enjoy what is a family sport. Their spec Ignite program with Briggs & Stratton 206 powerplant continues to expand from track to track, based out of the midwest and reaching both coasts. Two events are hosted by the USAC Karting organization during the months of July and August. Decades after the company began, third-generation owner Keith Freber understands that sport can only grow with new people coming in.
