The trade brought mixed reactions and the fans could not fully digest the trade as another one was made! The Ducks traded for James Wisniewski for Rene Bourque, William Karlsson and a 2nd round pick! So the Ducks were done trading now, right? Well not quite! The Ducks also acquired Korbinian Holzer from the Toronto Maple Leafs for Eric Brewer and a 5th round draft 2016 pick. Are the Ducks Championship Hopes Fading?
After the Ducks defeated the Nashville Predators they held the best record in the NHL. Since that time the Ducks have dropped 4 out of their last 5 games. The Ducks are now 3rd in the Western Conference. So are the Ducks still Cup Contenders or are they fading as the playoffs approach?Eddy and I address this and answer some difficult questions that YOU the fans have been asking. Some of these questions include:1. What is wrong with the Ducks? Is it a short term or long term problem?2. With the recent struggles, should the Ducks make a trade? If yes, then who should we target?3. How far will the Ducks go in the playoffs?4. Mallard Meltdown?
Heading into the All-Star break the Ducks were rolling with four wins in a row including another close game against the Los Angeles Kings. So when the Ducks came out after the All-Star break you had to wonder how they would play. Sometimes a break can be a blessing and other times it can be a curse. Some teams use the time to rest and heal up. And other times teams get out of sync and have to a play a few games before playing well again. So how did the Ducks perform? The Ducks came out on fire dominating the Calgary Flames 6-3 for their 20th home win in a row against them at Honda Center. Then against the Vancouver Canucks, the Ducks put on another show beating them soundly 4-0. The Ducks extended their win streak to six games and four of the victories were multiple goal wins.So everything is going well for the Ducks, right? Well not exactly. The Ducks then had a set of back-to-back games with the San Jose Sharks and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Ducks were outplayed losing 6-3 and 4-1 in both contests. So what happened to the Ducks? Eddy and I look at the Ducks recent struggles and break it all down for you. We talk about what the Ducks need to do to prevent these kind of performances and we even talk about whether or not the Ducks should make a trade.
