Listen to today's episode on our website Dr. Leedia is a biological dentist who is revolutionizing the way we think about oral health. Her approach focuses on overall wellness, long-term disease prevention, and empowerment through education. As a mother of two wonderful girls, Dr. Leedia recognizes the importance of women's dental health and early childhood dental education, making these areas a particular focus in her practice. In Dr. Leedia's Beverly Hills office, she offers a range of integrative dental therapies, including integrative dental extractions, responsible cosmetic dentistry, biomimetic fillings, safe mercury removal and detox, ozone therapies, micronutrient testing, an airway centric approach to dental care and so much more. While these may seem like disparate treatments, they all address the root cause of the most prevalent dental issue: decay. Currently, dental decay is the most common chronic disease in children worldwide, causing pain and trauma that is preventable. To combat this issue, Dr. Leedia created a course to teach parents the techniques she uses to reverse small cavities and bolster children's oral health. Dr. Leedia's dedication to dental health extends beyond children. She recognizes that over 65% of women suffer from dental disease concurrent with pregnancy, and that inflammation in the mouth is linked to premature labor, low birth weight, heart disease, and more. This realization has prompted her to put a spotlight on the importance of women's dental health and the impact that hormones have on the oral cavity. By educating and empowering women and fostering collaboration between the medical and dental worlds, Dr. Leedia is helping patients achieve optimal whole body health. Her dedication to her patients is evident in everything she does. She practices biological dentistry with her brother, Dr. Rashad, and together they bring over 32 years of experience to their work. They are passionate about creating seismic shifts in the world of dental health, one patient at a time. Their approach honors each patient as an individual, recognizing the unique needs and concerns that each brings to their practice. Listen to today's episode on our website My story: I was diagnosed with chronic constipation and leaky gut at the age of 21. At the time, I knew nothing about food allergies or sensitivities. Though when I look back on my childhood now, I recognize that I suffered the symptoms of chronic inflammation and reactions to food from an early age. When I learned why I was having severe stomach pains and fluctuations in stool for years, I was exhausted. I had been through the ringer of the conventional medical system, finding no true answers to my concerns. That's when I found naturopathic medicine. What I discovered was a complete paradigm shift around healing our bodies and what it meant to truly be healthy. I also realized just how important health in childhood really is. The naturopathic approach made sense, I felt better than I ever had before, and since then I have made it my mission to share this medicine with others. This led me to attending the top naturopathic medical school in the country, Bastyr University in San Diego, CA, where I earned my doctorate. My goal is to help your child feel better and stay healthy for years to come. I am not just trying to make their symptoms go away, but to truly treat the underlying cause so that they can thrive and become healthy adults. I can't promise healing for your child will be linear or not take any effort, but I can promise that I will support you and your family along the way. In my free time, you can find me at the local farmer's markets finding fresh ingredients to cook with, somewhere out in nature, or spending time with her husband and pup, Chief!
