DJ Disciple Christmas Mix at Marthas December 23, 2022 with Prayer: Lord, we thank you for bringing us together once again and on the brink of the Christmas holiday. When people are out shopping for gifts, having events, or getting ready to greet families, we thank you that we give you this time of praise and thanks. We pray today for those in solitary confinement. Not just for those in the prison system, but for those who are confined in themselves. We pray for our goals and resolutions for the upcoming year we pray that you help us accomplish everything we couldn’t this year Even if we wasn’t close to any of them we pray for your strength and courage to not give up Please provide us with the essential things we need to achieve my goals We pray that you renew our strength and our spirit. Help us press and push on no matter the difficulty we face Remove any depressing and disruptive obstacles from our path. Help us stay focused and on our toes this coming year we commit our family and all that is dear to us to your care Help us keep my faith in you and not stray from your promise. We sometimes find it difficult to put on a happy face and celebrate because of the losses we have experienced and the struggles we are going through. Some of us have experienced the death of a loved one. Some of us have experienced a divorce or separation. Some of us have lost our health. Some of us have lost homes, livelihoods and friends. Some of us have loved ones who are dealing with life altering problems. Today we intercede on behalf of those who mourn the loss of a loved one, especially during the holidays. We pray you comfort them with your undeniable Presence. Please give them courage, so they can face one more moment, one more hour and one more day. Let them place their hope in the one whom we celebrate this season; the One Who swallowed “up death forever… and wipes away tears from all faces” (Isaiah 25:8). For those of us who know we cannot put off getting right with God. If you don’t know Jesus you cannot put off getting saved or rededicating Christ in your life. No more delay; Lord we pray that you give someone a reset. If someone does not believe in you, I pray that they say Lord Jesus come into my heart. Tired of doing my own thing. I’m tired of going my own way. I call you Lord I call you savior. I take your salvation. I give you my sin. God, I believe in you because I need hope. God hear the cry of the hopeless right now, Install hope in the heart and the mind. In Jesus' name. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Having spent several years building his reputation with explosive sets at Pacha (Ibiza) and Ministry of Sound (UK), he was named one of the world’s top 100 DJs by DJ Magazine. His Grammy-nominated 2002 hit single “Caught Up” was also featured on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. After appearing on MTV and BBC Radio 1, Disciple has certainly made his mark on the house music scene. In 1997, he started his own record label, Catch 22 Records. This year marks his 25th year of making music with Catch 22. Despite the 2020 lockdowns in New York, DJ Disciple’s artistic freedom could not be stifled. Seeing as restaurants had become the major platform for DJs to thrive as artists in New York, he continued his residency at Martha’s Country Bakery in Williamsburg. He made regular appearances at LiveSpin at the Funktion House in Red Hook and showcased himself at self-booked venues to gain more of an audience. During 2020, Disciple released two albums, Sounds You Can Feel Vol I & II, selling multiple copies online. The albums reached number one on the Traxsource charts with Doug Gomez’s remix of “Midnight Espresso”. In 2021, he worked with new artists Amorelle, Beatweezy, and Harmonies for two new albums; Selections was released in the spring, followed by Full Circle in the fall. DJ Disciple has recently added Mera Lounge in South Brooklyn on Wednesdays and Thursdays to his already busy weekend schedule. He currently works with promoter Becky Nunez at club “Now & Then”, located in Williamsburg. On his days off, DJ Disciple enjoys spending time with his daughter. This year marks his 25th year of making music with Catch 22. Despite the 2020 lockdowns in New York, DJ Disciple’s artistic freedom could not be stifled. Seeing as restaurants had become the major platform for DJs to thrive as artists in New York, he continued his residency at Martha’s Country Bakery in Williamsburg. He made regular appearances at LiveSpin at the Funktion House in Red Hook and showcased himself at self-booked venues to gain more of an audience. During 2020, Disciple released two albums, Sounds You Can Feel Vol I & II, selling multiple copies online. The albums reached number one on the Traxsource charts with Doug Gomez’s remix of “Midnight Espresso”. In 2021, he worked with new artists Amorelle, Beatweezy, and Harmonies for two new albums; Selections was released in the spring, followed by Full Circle in the fall. DJ Disciple has recently added Mera Lounge in South Brooklyn on Wednesdays and Thursdays to his already busy weekend schedule. Disciple collaborated with Collette McLafferty on Birdseye view. Originally known for her work in the rock band edibleRed, Disciple introduced McLafferty to the world of House music from his sets at long time New York venues Le Souk, Webster Hall and Ceilo. She was part of Disciple's dancing faithful dancing crew...often dancing to Disciple's megahit "Work It Out" at 5 in the morning. McLafferty also made worldwide headlines back in 2014, when a total stranger and former drummer of a P!NK Tribute Band she worked in sued her for $10,000,000 for a one time performance. A sensationalized version of the lawsuit went viral via the New York Post, Perez Hilton and Time Magazine based on claims that she was a "lousy singer" and "too unattractive" for the job. After winning a two year legal battle and a $15,000 legal bill for the performance, McLafferty is now championing for change in the legal system. "Collette's Law" was introduced by Bushwick Assemblywoman Maritza Davila to protect innocent people from frivolous lawsuits. Additionally, she is writing a book "Confessions of a Bad, Ugly Singer" to set the record straight on what really happened. With the hardest chapter behind her, McLafferty is thrilled to be teaming up with Disciple and returning to her love for the music that he introduced to her with the new single "Bird's Eye View".
