<p>Guest speaker Pastor Rick Ciaramitaro shares about different Biblical examples of people with honour and courage.</p>

<p>Today we’re going to examine the movie The Guardian – a movie about the brave men and women who serve in the United States Coast Guard – these are the people who respond to emergencies at sea and risk their own lives to rescue other people. The movie demonstrates that in a world of greed and hunger for fame there is a higher purpose.</p>

<p>Saving Mr. Banks is a modern-day parable which has a theme of letting go of the past and walking in forgiveness to realize the future.</p>

<p>One of the key things Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount was to love and respect others, including our enemy.</p>

<p>In our Canadian national anthem we sing: "From far and wide O Canada, we stand on guard for the. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee." How can the Canadian Church today stand on guard?</p>

<p>Jesus concludes the Sermon on the Mount with the parable of two builders. Each build a house and outwardly they make it look the same. But when a storm came, it revealed the true nature of the foundation.</p>

<p>And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” – Matthew 3:17</p>

<p>In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus instructed His disciples about the importance of bearing good fruit and the need for them to recognize the type of people they were dealing with, by observing the type of fruits they were bearing.</p>

<p>The Sermon on the Mount demands a choice, an absolute choice and a choice that leads to a fixed eternal destination. In this message Pastor Dave Koop teaches on the two paths we can take, the narrow path or the broad path.</p>

<p>The Sermon on the Mount is a roadmap for life that leads us into a richer relationship with God and the people around us. This “map” leads us out of the legalistic life (you have heard it said…) into a life of grace empowered by the Spirit of Christ (but I say to you…).</p>

<p>A covenant is based on trust; a contract is based on distrust. A covenant is based on unlimited responsibility; a contract is based on limited liability. A covenant cannot be broken if new circumstances occur; a contract can be voided by mutual consent.</p>

<p>Jesus starts the Sermon on the Mount with a description of kingdom people; a people of character who will live differently than the world around them when it comes to dealing with issues like anger and sex.</p>

<p>If we understand our identity as salt and light, we will have a profound effect in a broken world.</p>

<p>In the broken world we live in, we will all have an opportunity to make a choice to stand up for righteousness and be a peacemaker.</p>

<p>The world today is desperately looking for justice. Jesus in the Sermon on the Mountain gave us three beatitudes that give us guidance on how to live justly in a broken world.</p>
