“Send Coach John a message”Big time congrats to the University of Michigan Football program for winning the National Championship for College football. There was a saying that Coach Harbaugh says a lot that got more coverage in the last few weeks - "Who's got it better than us??? NOOOOBODY!!" It got me thinking about the origin of this story as I read a posting online connecting it to when the Harbaugh brothers (and their sister was around too I think), were out doing things with their dad... and their dad would ask them that same question. It was all around the mindset of ``we have it good", no matter the circumstances. It reminded me to remember this about myself along with remembering the fact that everyone else is taken & that I can't be anyone else. Along with the fact that I can play small in life and let fear ride along with me during my lifetime. Lots came out in this episode that I didn't know would.. but, that's all part about being myself and working hard to live my best life. What a true statement for sure!! “Send Coach John a message”Calvin and Hobbes was an awesome comic strip from so many years ago with tremendous life lessons in each edition of it. A recent post where someone wrote about Calvin (who was a little boy in the comic) grew up, had a family and got old. In the later days of his life, Hobbes, his old stuffed animal tiger, came back to say goodbye. Talk about a tear-jerker for me and so many others that made comments on this. It's amazing how a few lose out on the memory of childhood & criticize things like this. “Send Coach John a message”Couple things fitting into today's show - first thing that caught my eye was a post from a former student. It was about getting through some tough and challenging times and her journey through learning many lessons. I have found myself learning things every day to apply to my own journey through life - and many of these lessons come from my former students. I take tremendous pride in that since I shared with them that I am a life-long learner and one of my many goals for them was to become one too. The second piece that put today's episode together was a post from Mitch Albom, connected to his recent book, "The Little Liar". It's a quote that connected with me - "The heart has many routes to love, and compassion is one of them." Compassion was one of the many messages I got from my former student's post along with another post from someone I follow online, where he was celebrating a milestone of sobriety.
