Small Business, Big Solutions: Influencing Your Cybersecurity Decisions
While the importance of cybersecurity solutions has been well documented, it is still easy to see the large corporations in the news, and find yourself as an SMB thinking you won’t be attacked. Unfortunately, the data and reality are a bit harsher. 46% of cyber attacks last year were targeted at businesses with 1,000 or fewer employees, with 60 percent of small companies go out of business within six months of falling victim to cyber attack. Hope is not lost, and there are both practices and solutions that SMBs can leverage to improve their security posture. To dig into these, today Ian is joined by Nate Haleen, Lead Developer & Division Lead at Procellis Technology Inc. and Tyler Cohen Wood, a keynote speaker, author, national security expert, and overall cyber authority.

Cisco Optics Podcast Ep 38. Fascinating laser research projects you wish you thought of (4 of 9)
Lasers have been around for over six decades. Since their invention, they have found their way into many applications that have changed our lives. Optical communications is of course one of them, and there are many that may surprise you. There is also still plenty of room to take laser performance to new heights, leading to even more new applications. In Episode 38, we continue our conversation with laser and optics expert Juliet Gopinath, Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. Next is her project in multi-photon microscopy and super-resolution imaging. – Pat Chou, Cisco Optics Product Manager Juliet Gopinath is the Alfred T. and Betty E.
