What does the parable of the wineskin mean in Luke 5? Jesus is saying that the new wine of the gospel must be placed in the new wineskin of grace, not into the old wineskins of law! He did not come to mix the new covenant with the old covenant. What do we do if we feel invisible in this world? How do we respond to those who feel invisible? In Luke 5, Jesus comes across someone who probably felt invisible, untouchable, and like he was on the outside looking in. Jesus noticed him, pulls him in for an embrace, and gives him a place to belong. Deny yourself? Die to self? Must I decrease? Is this the way to live the Christian life? No, the New Testament writers of Scripture tell us that your old self already died and that you've become a new creation in Christ. If you are already dead and have already become a new self in Christ, then why would you need to die to self? In Christ, you are holy, righteous, and filled with the fruit of the Spirit. Learn to live out of your new self and walk by faith in Christ in you and through you.

Some will use Malachi 3:8-10 to say that tithing is commanded for all people. They'll teach that God will bless you with more if you are faithful to tithe. But that is not what that verse means. This passage is addressed to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant. As New Covenant believers, we give from our hearts which is a work of God's grace in our lives.Malachi 3:8-10... 8 “Will a mere mortal rob God?
