Can Eli tell which is the Nik-Nak and which is the Nik-Nak knock off? The odds are stacked against him. Elsewhere, Paul crafts another deeply weird character that, for a change, Eli becomes incredibly fond of! Is this the beginning of a beautiful new friendship? As the weather, once again, gets colder and the days become shorter, Paul and Eli are feeling a bit gloomy. It’s even worse for Silverman, as a long-standing issue with his teeth rears its ugly head and Gannon takes full advantage of his vulnerability. This edition of the economy comedy podcast has been pieced together from the recording equipment and audio footage that was found abandoned in a dirty back alley earlier this week. During the early weeks of October 2022, Paul and Eli attempted to record their Halloween episode for that year. In a desperate attempt to get something out for Halloween, Paul and Eli tagged along with Mr Biffo and Sanja for a “Digitiser’s Supernatural World” film shoot at a haunted sweet shop in Chatham, owned by a chap called Dan Does Crafts… The whole film crew slowly succumbed to an uninvited evil and, as of the publication of this episode, have yet to be found. Following the events of Episode 300, Paul isn’t quite feeling himself and so it’s up to Eli to tackle the tatty topics of the week. He finally gets to finish off the selection of Japanese “worthless” snacks and Gashapon pods, which brings him a lot more joy than Paul gets, who’s really not in the mood. As Episode 300 nears, Paul and Eli decide to squeeze in one more walk before summer ends. After the high drama of last week’s Derek finale, it’s very much back to basics for Paul and Eli this week on CheapShow. To bring some stability to the format, they opt to indulge in some Cheap Eats and Price of Shite action. At no point do two new, awful characters appear, destined to be forgotten about. Not at all! In Cheap Eats, Messrs Gannon and Silverman tackle a rather unsatisfactory brand of strongly flavoured Sunflower seeds and guzzle down Gingerbread flavoured Mountain Dew. Sometimes it’s fine to have a silly, throwaway episode, and this episode is about as throwaway as they come. For a few weeks in March, Eli escaped the UK to visit his family in Florida and Paul thought it would be a great idea to give him a portable recording device. You know, so Eli could record his adventures in America. Turns out it was a terrible idea. After the meltdown of last week’s episode, Eli still harbours a grudge and wants his damned 7 p’twings. Last Week Paul and Eli pulled apart what made Tiswas and Swap Shop work, and this week it’s part two of their Saturday Morning Showdown! The 2nd generation of kid’s breakfast TV shows were Number 73 on the ITV regions and Saturday Superstore from the BBC. Both are very different to each other, and in some respects, from the trailblazing programmes that came before them. The question is, “Which is the ULTIMATE show?” Will nostalgia cloud our opinions or has distance made us more critical? Which one has Sarah Greene in? That will probably be the best one. Ahem. For kids of the 1970s through to the late 90s, Saturdays were defined by their morning children’s TV programming. We're back! To celebrate the start of a brand-new year, CheapShow has decided to make a very special podcast. This week, to celebrate its 40th anniversary (ok, we just missed it but...) Another year gone, another Christmas is on it's way and unfortunately that means it's time for another drunken, angry CheapShow Office Party.
