The Declaration of Independence was a declaration of freedom from the British Empire. It was a declaration that the 13 American colonies were a new nation. Interestingly enough, our country's declaration of freedom did not result in peace, which is the absence of war. It resulted in more wars. Similarly, our declaration of salvation is a declaration of freedom from the presence and power of sin. It's a declaration that we are a new creation. And although we are at peace with God, we are at war with Satan. So whether we are talking about our freedom as a nation, or our freedom as a child of God...freedom comes at a price, and it's something we have to fight for until the day we die. Will you be ready for the fight?

God is the Creator and Supreme Ruler over all. He has no beginning and no end and He is everywhere present at the same time. He is all knowing, all powerful, and He never makes a mistake! What a great God we serve! Because of His sovereignty, we can stop trying to control things and just trust Him with our lives!

If you’re a child of God through faith in Christ, you’re the recipient of many mind-blowing blessings! As your Father, God is for you and He will never condemn you! In spite of the difficulties you may face in life, God can make you more than a conqueror! Nothing can separate you from His love! You are safe and secure!

In His foreknowledge, God chose you to be His child and all things are currently working together for your good. The Father is at work in your life, molding you into the image of His Son. Nothing can separate you from His love! You are safe and secure!

When a woman goes into labor, she experiences intense pain. But the pains of labor are followed by great joy when a new life is born. Paul says, “…creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” (8:22). But the pains of life in this fallen world will be followed by great joy when Jesus returns and makes all things new!

When we placed our faith in Christ, we experienced a new birth! At that amazing moment we were born into God’s family and adopted as God’s children. Now that God is our Father, there is no need for us to fear. As our “Abba” (Daddy), God has promised to love us, encourage us, protect us, and provide for us.

When a person genuinely turns to Christ in faith, the Spirit of God enters that person to live inside of them as a permanent Resident. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. However, if Christ lives in us, He will make us new in this life and the next!

Have you ever had a desire to do right, but then you did wrong anyway? You desired to do good, but you ended up doing what you hate! This is the war that believers experience in their hearts that can cause great discouragement. Are you tired of losing the battle? Paul has good news. There is victory in Christ!

Before we met Jesus, we were bound to the belief that we could earn a righteous standing before God by our works. When we placed our faith in Christ, we were set free from this belief. We once were “married” to the Law, but now we’re “remarried” to Christ! We once lived by the letter, but now we live by the Spirit!

In our “B.C. Days”, many of us were slaves to various kinds of sin. But when we placed our faith in Christ and received His amazing grace, we were set free! Now that we are recipients of God’s grace, should we go on sinning? Why would we return to slavery after we’ve been set free?

Baptism is a beautiful picture of our unity with the Lord in His death and resurrection. When we went under the water, it showed our unity with Jesus in His death. When we came out of the water, it showed our unity with Jesus in His resurrection! Now that you have become one with the Risen Christ, are you walking in newness of life?

In Romans 5, Paul contrasted two men who couldn’t be more different. One man brought sin, sorrow, and death to the human race. The other Man brought grace, joy, and eternal life! Jesus Christ came to fix what Adam messed up! If we turn to Jesus, He will give us abundant grace for this life and the next!

Easter is a time to celebrate the greatest act of love in all of history! Two thousand years ago, the Son of God suffered and died for the sins of mankind. In doing so, He fulfilled many amazing prophecies written one thousand years earlier in Psalm 22. Join us as we praise the Risen Christ for His staggering love for us all!

“Justification by Faith” is not an abstract theological teaching that should be left in the seminary classroom. Just the opposite, it is a relevant teaching that is bursting with benefits for all believers today! God has provided a way for us to be victorious over the trials and tribulations of this life.

Abraham’s faith is a powerful example of what it means to truly trust in the Lord. Abraham was a man who trusted God, even when it was hard to do so. He believed God was able to do exactly what He said, even if it seemed impossible!

Since we all have sinned against God, we all owe Him a colossal debt! Some are ignorant of their debt, others disregard their debt, and still others try to work off their debt. But none of these approaches are satisfactory. Join us and discover how our spiritual account can be settled with God once and for all!

God is so gracious! Even though we have all sinned and are under His just judgment, He made a way to set us free! He made a way to declare sinners… righteous! Our response to this good news should be genuine relief and eternal gratitude. Join us as we celebrate, “The Gift of Righteousness”!

Because all humans are sinners by nature and choice, all humans are broken! This brokenness affects our thoughts, our affections, our will, our words, our behavior, and our relationships. This is why we all desperately need God’s grace! Our gracious God wants to restore what is broken in our lives. Will you let Him?

The day is coming. It’s inescapable. All of us will one day stand before our Creator and give an account. On that day, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth will come forth. On that day, secrets will be revealed. Are you ready for that day?

Self-righteous people are the first to criticize others. They stand on their moral high ground, pointing down at others who are not as “good” as them. But is this the attitude God wants us to have? Hardly! God desires self-righteous people to realize that they’re as guilty as the people they look down on! He wants them to realize how patient He has been with them, so they can be patient with others.

God has given mankind two strong evidences of His existence. He has given us a conscience within and His creation without. When a person chooses to ignore the reality of God’s existence, he choses a downward path. The more he suppresses the truth of God, the further down he goes into a cesspool of darkness. Is there any hope for those who choose this path?

In Romans 1, Paul declared the good news of the Gospel of Christ. This good news tells us how we can be made right with the God who created us. This is accomplished from start to finish by only one thing… FAITH! Join us as we kick off Paul’s amazing letter to the Romans and invite a friend!

As Paul wraps up his letter to the Corinthians, he urges them to, “…stand fast in the faith.” In the New Testament, the Christian life is sometimes referred to as a fight. Many believers start this fight well, but along the way they allow the trials of life to knock them off their feet. Learn how to keep standing for Christ, even while the battle rages!

The Rapture of the Church is an exciting event that could happen at any time! There is a generation of believers that will not die, but will be translated into heaven in the twinkling of an eye! If we are part of that generation, our mortal bodies will be instantly changed to immortal bodies, and we will live forever with the Lord!

Life in this fallen world may seem hard and the future may seem bleak. But as believers in Christ, we must remind ourselves that there is more to life than this life! Because of what Jesus has done for us, our existence will extend beyond this temporary life and into the next life! In this life we live in mortal bodies, but in the next life, we will live in immortal bodies! We have so much to look forward to!

Around AD 55, Paul wrote a Christian Creed that followers of Jesus accept wholeheartedly. He wrote this creed within 25 years of the resurrection of Christ, well before legend could creep in and distort the facts. This creed contains the “Glorious Gospel” of how we can be saved from a life of emptiness and an eternity of darkness. In this creed we take our stand!

The Church of Corinth was a complicated church that had many problems. One of the problems was disorder in the fellowship. God is a God of peace and order and He wants His church to reflect His nature! When there’s an environment of disorder in the church, the growth of believers is stunted. But when peace and order are established, the growth of believers can flourish!

One of the most famous chapters in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13. In this chapter, Paul eloquently defines and describes true love. There’s an old song called, “What the World Needs Now is Love”, but what is “Love”? Most people think that love is based on feelings that come and go, but that’s not the kind of love we need! We need a love that comes from God, is rock-solid, and never fails!

The human body is amazing! Even though it is one body, it is made up of many different parts and each part has a vital role to play! The Church is the Body of Christ and it is also amazing! The story of Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian slavery is one of the most famous stories in all of history. God was so good to His people as He miraculously opened the Red Sea and led His people to freedom! But what did Israel do with their freedom? How did they respond to God’s goodness in their lives? Our Father in heaven has been so gracious to us! He called us, saved us, provides for us, and one day He will send His son to come back for us! It’s true that, “Every good gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights!” A great way to respond to God’s graciousness is to put Him first in all areas of our lives, including our giving. When we’re faithful to honor God with our finances, He has promised to provide for all of our needs!

Every human being has a conscience. Our conscience is like a warning light within us, that flashes when we’re about to do something wrong. It’s like a judge within us, that either approves or disapproves of our behavior. But should our conscience always be our guide? When you read the headlines, it’s obvious that sin is rampant in our world and things are becoming worse. So, will the world we live in, with all its depravity, continue on indefinitely? If you know the Scriptures, you know the answer is, “No!” Paul wrote, “For this world as we know it will soon pass away” (1 Cor. 7:31 NLT). The Lord established marriage as the union between one man and one woman. He has given us wonderful principles in His Word so we can have healthy, happy marriages. When a couple gets married, it’s important that they build their relationship on these principles. This will ensure the Lord’s blessing on their union! God is both the Creator and the Savior of those who believe. Not only has He given us physical life (Psalm 139: 13-14), He has also given us spiritual life (Romans 5: 8-9)! We should never take the life we enjoy for granted, because it came to us at a great price… the blood of Jesus! How should we respond to God for giving us the gift of life? There are many reasons why America is great. Our constitution is brilliant, our democracy is balanced, and our land is beautiful. But the greatest thing about America is that our citizens are free! As citizens of this great nation, we must never forget that freedom comes at a price, the price of blood! In the same way, as citizens of the Kingdom of God, our spiritual freedom also comes at a great price, the price of the blood of Jesus!

The fallen world we live in has its own value system. The three things that characterize this system are: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. As followers of Christ, we’re called to reject the world’s value system and live by a higher standard. We’re called to be in the world, but not of it! Discover more next Sunday and invite a friend!

One of the greatest needs in our generation is the need for true leaders! This need for leadership can be seen in our nation, our communities, our workplaces, our churches, and our families! One day we will all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. On that day, each of us will give an account of our lives to God! The question asked at that time will be, “What did we do for the Lord and why?” On that day, some will be joyful and others will be embarrassed. Some will receive rewards and others will feel regret.
