<p>Some really big news on the podcast this week, and we're not talking about football! Well, there's some football chatter later in the show, but this is someting completely different. BJ has finally - after years of prodding by his family and his old partner Bill Stevenes - finallly found himself someone who is going to help him write his life story down in a real, live, available-on-Amazon book. </p> <p>Of course it's just now in the planning and negotiation stages, but that's a big development, for sure! <p>Football season is over! At least it is for BJ, who (along with Bill) had the unhappy experience of watching their beloved Tampa Bay Bucaneers lose in the NFL Wild Card Playoff games. Oh well, as BJ said, "time to wash the jerseys and put them away for another season." Yes, he really did NOT wash his Bucs jersey, to try to keep the "luck" of winning going. <p>Well, the regular season of the NFL came to a close the weekend just before this show was recorded, so the boys have plenty of football to talk about. Most interesting, the way BJ had to make sure his wife was helping out, doing the "ritual" of wearing the same team jersey, sitting in the same spot on the couch, etc... all to make sure our favorite Tampa Bay Bucs were winners. <p>It was a good football week for the boys... Tampa Bay won, and the Browns played (and won!) a super-cool game in the big-time snow right there in Cleveland. <p>Lots of weather-related talk on the show this week. As this show was being recorded, a hurricane was blowing along the northwest Florida coast, near the area called the Big Bend. <p>This week - a little catching up on sports, including big congrats to the Florida Panthers for pulling off an exciting Game 7 win in the Stanley Cup Finals. Also, big smiles all around for the Florida Everblades pulling off back-to-back-to-back Championship wins in their Kelly Cup Finals. Nice!</p> <p>BJ is thinking - nothing serious at this point - about plugging in to the electric vehicle (EV) trend. That leads to quite the discussion on having an electric car as a family's "everyday driver." Would you want an electric car? Do you already own one? How's that going for you? For Bill, who just got back from a week in the mountains of northern Georgia, it's not really an option. But (as they say) different strokes for different folks. </p> <p>There's also a nice rememberance of Jimmy Nelson, a comedian, ventriloquist and 1960's TV star who was a big friend to the old BJ and Bill radio show. <p>This week, Bill is "on location" at a secret mountain hideaway (sounds like a song!) in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. Not so secret, now that we've told you, right? </p> <p>Anyway, to get there, Bill had to drive up I-75 through Georgia, which meant a stop at the Buc-ee's in Warner Robbins (of course!). There are pictures to prove it this time, and Bill tells the story of a brisket sandwich for lunch and a bag of "Beaver Nuggets" for snacks. To say yummy! to both is an understatement. You'll have to listen for all the tasty details. </p> <p>Speaking of food (which the boys do a lot, don't they?) BJ talks about plans to visit SW Florida this week. Specifically, his son and grandkids. Back when a certain beachfront resort was the "in" place to go for weekend getaways and parties. How it survived the big hurricane last year (it did!) and how it's been rebuilt, restored and re-opened for business. </p> <p>That led BJ on a rabbit-hole run through some of his favorite stories of being on the road, back when he was doing standup comedy. Some of the nice - and not-so-nice hotels and motels he stayed in while on the road.
