Ep 29Episode 29: Kristen Stelzer - The Puzzle of Life

If you visit Kristen's Web Page www.kristenstelzer.com you will realize why she's really good at writing and selling ideas. She has a section on why you should Choose her for your Telecom Writing project and here it is:Why Me?You have deadlines, budgets, and writing projects piling up. Sure, it’s great to have an engineer who can understand information…but these projects require so much more than just understanding them. Not to worry. I’m not just an engineer. I went to law school. You may have heard it. You may have said it. “Engineers can’t write.”Well, you don’t make it very far in law school without knowing how to write—a lot.And most of my projects required me to explain complicated issues to non-technical audiences. But simplifying did not mean dumbing down. Rather, I distilled complex topics to make them clear and easy to understand. So not only can I understand your products and services, I can also translate them into relatable marketing materials. Your engineers don’t need to spend valuable time trying to educate a writer…or trying to write materials themselves.I sold ideas.I’ve spent my career explaining projects to politicians, reviewing agencies, and community members. But I was never simply explaining a project. I was also trying to gain support.I had to address their questions and provide sound, logical proof to justify their buy-in…just like you need to provide sound, logical proof to your customers to earn their business. You don’t need to worry that I don’t “get” sales. I’ve spent two decades honing a clear, logical, and persuasive style of communication that will resonate with your customers’ engineers and non-technical decision makers.I’m a project manager.I’ve managed multi-million dollar projects so I understand the importance of timelines, critical paths, and cost controls. I am skilled at juggling multiple projects and teams while maintaining schedules and budgets. You can rest assured that my projects will be delivered on time and within the agreed-upon terms, without needing to hold my hand.Kristen is amazing at what she does, and this episode is about how she redefined her life so that she could do something that she has fun at and that she really enjoys. You can also learn more about Kristen at:https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristen-stelzer/ Please leave a review or send us a Voice note letting us know what you enjoyed at:Back2Basics reconnecting to the essence of YOU (podpage.com)Follow us on IG and FB @Back2BasicsPodcast

Ep 25Episode 25- Astrid Zayas: Daring to dig Deep

“I am a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world” song by Aqua.In this new episode of B2B, Astrid Zayas takes us on a journey of sharing how she went from getting rid of a lifelong of "you are beautiful" stereotype that she saw more of a contradiction (hint, hint, she didn't feel beautiful) to using that experience to help others let go of the image they were labeled as kids and create an image that best reflects who they really are.In ASTRID WORDS:Pretty? Maybe, but Beautiful, definitely not. The word sounded too big in my head, too arrogant. My mind would say: “Who do you think you are? Beautiful, really?”I constantly thought: What if I don’t have that image of what beautiful is supposed to look like? Perfectly shaped curves, long silky hair, small waist, small narrow feet and feminine delicate hands.Would they love me? Would they pay attention to me?What if I don’t fit into that mold, would I be loved? Would I be noticed?I just wanted to be loved and I did everything in my power to resemble that image of beauty. For instance, wearing smaller shoes so my feet would look smaller and pretty and not flat like they are.I became what I hated the most, an object, a “Barbie Girl” and it manifested in every area of my life. School, Work and Relationships. The funny and sad thing is that I showed a Perfect Image to the world, perfect life, perfect family, perfect Astrid while in the inside I was fighting what it represented, the shallowness. This objectification from family, society and myself is really absurd and disturbing. I accepted it, breathed and lived it. And I HATED IT.It has taken me a lot of years of deep personal work to change my belief system and to recognize that I am so much more than just an object. I am smartI am creativeI am persistentI am strongI laugh easilyI love with my whole heartI love to dance and have funKnowing, understanding and appreciating those qualities in me gave me the courage to leave my corporate job and start leading a more fulfilling life. A life where I can help others let go of the image they were labeled as kids and create an image that best reflects who they really are.Today, I am understanding that I can be Beautiful and that doesn’t mean that I am an object. I get to choose. Besos,AstridWant to work with Astrid? Contact her at:https://www.linkedin.com/in/azayas/https://estiloimago.com/Are you in Miami Oct 5th? French born, Julie-Roxane grew up in Reunion Island, a small French tropical island close to Madagascar. After her parents divorced, she moved back to France with her mother and brother. At 19 and two years after moving to Paris to study History and Archeology, JR switched lanes and went to culinary school for a year to realise a lifelong dream: becoming a chef! She worked as a chef in Parisian restaurants for 4 years. In 2015, burnt out, she quit her job, left a relationship and started travelling the world. A year into her travels, in a small town in India, she met Alasdair, who'd left the startup scene in California, whom she's been travelling and living with ever since. In 2018, they bought and renovated a tiny house in the forest in southwest France and have been living in it for a year. They got engaged last Christmas and are getting married this year in May! Together they launched a podcast about their adventures in unconventional living after going through Seth Godin’s Podcast Fellowship. Since the beginning of this year, JR has been building a podcast producing business that’s continuing to grow as well as focusing on building the mindfulness retreat company that Alasdair and her started together with another couple based in the US. JR is also the producer and editor of several podcasts including this one! In 2001, she finally decided to go into the family business to help grow market share, create US presence and diversify the product line, all of which has been accomplished since Neptuno’s USA incorporation in 2002. In 2017, shortly after being named CEO of Neptuno USA, Corp she obtained the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Certification for the company and also became part of the Wireless Infrastructure Association/Smart City Council National Task Forces.
