Emergency Podcast: Duck basketball lands Top 40 commit Addison Patterson for this year

The Oregon Ducks have added yet again another elite prospect from the 2020 recruiting class that intends to move into the 2019 class and join the basketball team this coming season, and DuckTerritory.com's Matt Prehm and Erik Skopil have an emergency podcast that breaks down the commitment and what this means for Dana Altman's program heading into the 2019-2020 college basketball season. In this special podcast, Matt and Erik discuss how Patterson's commitment to the Ducks will fit with the current roster, what the expectations are for this basketball program now that the Ducks are full for scholarships, and lastly, what could Oregon's lineup look like at the start of the basketball season. Four-star shooting guard Addison Patterson has announced he will join the Ducks this coming season and enroll at Oregon in the next few weeks. Patterson is ranked as the nation's 35th best player overall in the class of 2020. Patterson's ranking could likely change in the coming days as 247Sports will have to adjust his ranking as he's now part of the 2019 class. As of now, Patterson is the 12th highest-rated prospect to ever commit to Oregon and is also the program's third-best shooting guard to ever commit. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard - who is ranked as the seventh-best player at the position in the class of 2020 - is the second player this week to decide to commit and then enroll at Oregon a year in advance. Earlier in the week, 2020 five-star center N'Faly Dante elected to commit to the Ducks and then start the process of moving from the 2020 recruiting class to 2019. DuckTerritory.com's Matt Prehm and Erik Skopil are back to recording their weekly podcasts after a short one-week break after Matt's vacation. In the last two weeks there has been a ton of new information for Oregon football and men's and women's basketball. Matt and Erik discuss the return of Payton Pritchard but the surprising departure from Kenny Wooten to the NBA, and then how both decisions will impact Oregon for the upcoming season. Matt and Erik also break down who the Ducks could add to their basketball roster between now and next season. Recently multiple sportsbooks have also released betting odds for multiple games for the 2019 football season. The Ducks are underdogs in multiple games, including a very surprising spread at Washington. Matt and Erik discuss the betting lines and tell you why some make sense and why some others might be a bit of a reach. The guys also discuss the upcoming football season and what would count as a successful season for Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff. From the women's basketball side of things, the Ducks had another big week on the recruiting trail. The women added one of the top grad-transfers in the country for this upcoming season while also landing another five-star verbal commitment for the class of 2020. Matt and Erik break down the impact of both. The guys wrap up this week's podcast answering two questions from fans on DuckTerritory.com about Oregon's rocky offseason for hoops and an interesting question about the football roster for 2019.
