Jewfish fishing with lures is the pursuit of those Central NSW coast anglers looking for a challenging species to target. And whilst they may take a bit of figuring out, those who make the effort usually get to the point of getting reasonably consistent results. Grunter (Javelin fish) are a very common catch around northern Australia, but are usually taken as a by-catch by anglers targeting other species. Those who do specifically seek out grunter know that they are a great lure fishing target that fights hard on light tackle - and that perfecting your technique will see you boating plenty of fish!
