The Vail School District in Arizona has been forced to add extra security to protect teachers and students at Cienega High School after they posted a picture to their Facebook page showing a math teachers’ group Halloween costume. It was meant as a math joke, t-shirts that looked like they had blood stains on them with the words “Problem Solved” on the front, but it was interpreted by Charlie Kirk’s own organization, Turning Point USA, as mocking their late founder’s assassination. Even after the district posted an explanation and photographic proof that the teachers had worn the same costume the year before, some conservative activists and prominent national leaders doubled down, posting the teachers’ names, phone numbers and demanding they be fired. Robert Redford’s daughter’s boyfriend, Sid Wells, was murdered more than 40 years ago on the campus of CU Boulder. His murder was never solved and his killer, never captured. But now, Redford’s death has re ignited the focus to find Wells’ killer. Today the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board recommended clemency be granted to 46-year-old Tremane Wood. Wood was convicted of stabbing and killing Ronnie Wipf during a 2002 New Year’s Day robbery. Wood has maintained his innocence for the past 2 decades, and his lawyers today presented a compelling enough argument that gave him a 3-2 decision in favor of clemency. A tragic story in the world of chess, as 29-year-old Chess Grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky was found dead this week at his home in Charlotte. As of this recording, there is no official cause of death, but late this week police acknowledged they were investigating his death as a possible drug overdose/suicide. Meantime, much of the chess world is pointing fingers at 50-year-old former chess World Champion, Vladimir Kramnik who has viciously, repeatedly and baselessly accused Naroditsky of cheating over the years. A bizarre story that keeps getting stranger.  Following his arrest at the border, “Family Matters” star, 49 year-old Darius McCrary says he was not trying to flee the country, instead he claims he accidentally went to Mexico and wait until you hear why. The state of Texas is set to execute 58-year-old Robert Roberson next week, but his attorneys have filed a last minute request for a new trial based on a recent Dateline podcast. Roberson would be the first person to ever be put to death for shaken baby syndrome, following the 2002 death of his 2 year old daughter Nikki. The science he was convicted on is no longer regarded and is considered “junk science.”  That information alone brought lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to intervene last year, to stay his execution, but that stay is up and Roberson time is up.
