Last week we kicked off our fall sermon series, Good News, looking at the goodness within the Gospel and how it impacts us. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is revelation that transforms, this change is from the inside out. When we receive salvation in Christ, we are brought to repentance because the Gospel reveals our sin and urges us to turn away from it. Jesus takes us on a journey to remove sin and shame and instill faith, hope, and courage in Him. The Gospel reveals Christ and our destiny. Placing our faith and hope in Christ gives us the promise of spending eternity with Him. This fall we are beginning a new series titled, Good News, where we will turn to the book of Galatians to uncover the truth and goodness of the Gospel. This Sunday, we will discover how the gospel is unique. The gospel immerses itself into every aspect of our lives. Our God is personal, He desires to work and speak to us in specific and intentional ways. The Gospel provides hope to remind us that there is redemption for the evil of this world. The source of the Gospel, the heart of the Gospel, and the exclusivity of the Gospel are unique. Our Metamorphosis series has been focused on transforming our minds to align with Christ, this week we will discuss anger and learn how we can reframe our mindset on how we handle anger. James 1:19 states we should be “quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” As we choose to deal with our anger lovingly, we should seek wisdom from scripture because Godly wisdom produces peace among people. When seeking wisdom from God's word we will see that Godly wisdom brings peace and Godly wisdom takes action, while worldly wisdom produces chaos. In our pursuit to deal with our anger in ways that glorify God, let us seek out scripture and wisdom from above. This week in our Metamorphosis series, we looked at adversity and found out how we can look at adversity as opportunity rather than a hindrance. In Philippians, Paul writes about his imprisonment due to sharing the Gospel, Paul is an example of how adversity can cause us to grow in Christ. Paul even exclaims, “for me to live is Christ, to die is gain.” We have an opportunity to bring the Gospel everywhere, we should not be ashamed of it, for Christ dwells in us if we have placed our trust in Him alone. Embracing adversity requires us to know that endurance inspires faith, we should rejoice in Gospel proclamation and recognize that adversity is a win-win. As we continue in our Metamorphosis series, this week we will address the issue of apathy. Our succumbing to apathy can go unnoticed, not realizing we have fallen into this frame of mind. So how do we get out of that mindset? We must be transformed by the word of God. An urgency to spread the gospel defeats apathy. We are to follow the ways of scripture and devote ourselves to love, show hospitality, and serve with diligence. In our message series, Metamorphosis, we are talking about transforming our minds with the word of God. Today, we will hear how our ambitions are welcomed in Christ, but we must submit them to God in an act of obedience to Him. Jesus had ambition, a ton of it. His ambitions were submitted to God, and He led them out with fervor—being the atonement for all. We have the chance to align our dreams and ambitions, just as Jesus did with God. When we submit them to God, He will exceed our expectations and align our desire with the desires of His own. We must put off worldly ambition and put on godly ambition. As we continue in our message series, Metamorphosis, we will talk about the hold that anxiety has made are many today. Anxiety can feel inescapable and suffocating. We may lose hope of ever feeling free from its chains, but we will see that there is hope. What was once anxiety can be turned into peace, by the grace and power of God. Through praying with gratitude, meditating on what is good, and living out God’s word, we can experience our anxieties turning into peace. We are beginning a new series called, Metamorphosis, where we will look at scripture passages that will guide us to transforming our minds to the work of Christ. When God saves us from our corrupt ways, our response should be a life of worship to Him. He extends mercy to us because of His immense love for His creation. Our response to this mercy looks like committing your body to the Lord, rejecting the world's thinking, and receiving a new mind. How will you respond to the mercy He has shown you? As we wrap up our What God Says About series, it is necessary that we look at what God says about femininity, especially on a day that celebrates the wonderful mothers in our lives. God’s word is clear that it values women, and their role in the church, in families, and in the world. Proverbs 31 is one of the most highly quoted scriptures that points to the value and need for women. We see three important points from this chapter on how to honor the women in our lives. We should acknowledge her value, affirm her work, and applaud her character. Godly women are an essential part of the world, the church, and the home. We have been working through our What God Says About series. This week we tackle a topic that is not often talked about in the church—sex. Scripture has much to say about it though, so it seems important we discuss what God has to say. God makes it abundantly clear that sex was created to be shared within the covenant of marriage, as two become one. The stain of sin in this world has sadly tainted the view of sex, painting it in a way that one should explore their sexuality, rather than saving it for the scaredness of marriage. The Bible makes it clear that sex is a good gift from God, to be shared only in marriage. As we aim to honor God in our sex lives we see three truths within scripture—to delight in your spouse, honor wise boundaries, and understand the danger of adultery. We are going through our series, What God Says About. This week we look at What God Says About Work. What we do matters to God. We are the representation of Christ, how we work reflects Him. Colossians 3:23 says we should “work heartily as for the Lord and not for men.” God commands us to work hard and to serve Him in all we do. In Proverbs, we find some examples of things that hinder us from fulfilling our call to work. There are three examples of obstacles we may face when it comes to work: laziness, distractedness, and selfishness. Proverbs 6 shows us that we have a calling to fulfill, that call is to work. We see in Genesis God giving Adam and Eve the call to tend to the garden and care for the animals. That was a privilege they held, given from God. For the past few Sundays, we have been traversing through Proverbs. Looking at God’s wisdom and applying it to our everyday interactions. This past Sunday, we discussed What God Says About Friendships. God created us to do life in community with one another. To not walk alone though the hardships that life bring us. His design in friendship is beautiful. But in our fallenness that beauty He made, can easily be tarnished. Proverbs gives us many insights into how to handle friendships with wisdom. God says that we should love our friends with sincerity, give them encouragement and correction when needed, and to seek after righteousness. Last Sunday, we started a new series, What God Says About, taking insights from the book of Proverbs, and applying God’s wisdom to some everyday situations we may face. When it comes to the way we speak to others, what we say matters. Our words hold much power. We have the choice to speak words of life or words of death over those we interact with each day. From Proverbs, we pick up a few pieces of advice when it comes to this topic. We should aim to speak less and listen more, to speak words of grace and encouragement, and to speak words of truth and challenge. As we strive to build each other up, our Heavenly Father encourages us to be careful in our words and to speak words that bring life. This Sunday we are diving into a new series, What God Says About, looking at the book of Proverbs to glean wisdom from about how to lean on God in the situations we face each day. Proverbs 3 tells us, the one who finds wisdom and understanding is blessed. Wisdom guides us in the decisions we make every day. As we seek Christ to be emulated in our lives, we should look to honor Him through our choices, who better to ask for wisdom from than Christ. For God’s wisdom is supremely precious. It is by wisdom that we live a good life, that God created the world, and that we are protected. Join us this Sunday in the first sermon of the series, What God says About Wisdom.

This Easter Sunday we are ending our 'Believe' series, by diving into a commonly asked question, why should I believe in Jesus? There are many differing opinions that circulate in our culture, doubting the existence of Jesus. It can be hard to remain faithful to a God we can’t physically see, especially when our doubts drown out what we know to be true. Good news, Jesus isn’t shocked by our doubts! He invites us to bring our doubts to Him; He knows them and He will reveal the truth to us—we just have to let Him in. Jesus knows our doubts, answers our fears, and blesses our faith. The resurrected King invites us to believe in Him! Join us this resurrection Sunday as we celebrate the risen King. He is alive and has stepped out of the grave; our belief in Him is alive!

final week of Jesus’ life. This Palm Sunday, we are beginning with true belief, and how that belief in Jesus shows in our lives. As we enter Holy Week, we begin with looking at Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where the crowds placed palm leaves down as Jesus entered. They celebrated Him, acknowledging that He was there, in the name of the Lord. In the days to follow they did not yet know what would come. As their belief in the Savior was evident in their celebration, we see how our belief shows through our lives. When we honor Jesus as king, bear witness to Jesus’ work, and pursue Jesus’ presence others will see Christ in us. Join us this Easter season as we walk through a new series. This week we are journeying on in our series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, looking to Psalm 51 as a guide to help us in our journey of finding renewal in Christ. In times when we have messed up or let someone down, it is easy for us to be full of shame and think that hiding is better. But God invites us into something different. He tells us that we can experience life transforming restoration and renewal, when we go to Him in humbleness, He is faithful to help us out of our pit of sin. When we are seeking renewal, we can first ask for God’s restoration and respond to His grace with genuine worship. God’s restoration in us, should cause us to react in worship. Giving praise to God for what He has done in us and for us; giving testimony to others through what Christ has done in us. Our response should be genuine praise back to Him for what He has done for us. God’s restoration leads us into worship. As we journey on in our series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, we will see that an essential part of confession is taking responsibility for our sin. In Romans, we see that Paul states, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” When we were born into this world, we entered into sin, our need for Jesus is very great. And the first step we take in the process of confession is realizing our sin and owning up to it. In confessing before God, it is important that we acknowledge that God is just, confess our fallen nature, and receive God's wisdom. What a gift, that we do not have to do it alone. We have the blood of Christ to cover our sins, He does not leave us alone, we need to take the initial step of recognizing and confessing. We are continuing in our new series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, this week we will be diving into Gods mercy and how He is faithful to show us mercy. When we appeal to the character of God and appeal to the cleansing power of God, we can experience His great mercy. Rather than carrying it on our own, the Lord is calling us to confess, surrender, release our grip on struggling to clean ourselves up. We can’t do it without Him. When we believe in Him and turn toward Him, confessing before Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to show us mercy. He can mend what we have broken, and He can heal our hearts from what we have let in. We do not have to suffer in silence, no matter how easy it may seem to suppress it and clean it up on our own. We are beginning a new series, Confessions: Erasing Shame and Experiencing Renewal, where we will look at 2 Samuel to better understand the role confession plays in our lives for us to find renewal. Today, we begin talking about this topic looking at David’s shortcomings when he gave into temptation and sinned against God. We see that the Lord confronts our sin so that we can experience renewal. To an extent, it’s as if we can have blinders on, where we can’t see the sin that tangles itself in our lives. On the other hand, we are aware of it and may turn our heads from seeing it. God lovingly confronts us with our sin because we are blind to it, at times we have despised the word of God, and the Lord is faithful to forgive our sin when we repent before Him. Today, we are moving forward in our series on Daniel, looking at the journey of Daniel’s life and his courage to stay loyal to God whilst living in a culture that rejected God. Pride so simply entangles us in its grasp. It is easy to get caught in the success of what we complete or achieve and give ourselves all the credit, puffing ourselves up with more pride. God warns us of the evil that can infect our hearts when we indulge in pride. But he does not leave us to figure it out on our own, He provides careful correction for our sinful ways, sharing with us His grace. God warns us of our pride, He will judge us for our sin, and then He restores us by his grace. He is faithful to redeem us. Today we will continue our series, Daniel: Clash of Cultures, looking at another courageous story of Daniel and his friends in Babylon. When faced with the direct command to bow down to a false image by King Nebuchadnezzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bend their knee to a fake god. They had the courage to refuse and remain loyal to God alone; even if their refusal meant a sentence to death. Through the bravery of these young men, we see how courageous faith rejects idolatrous worship. As we fight in our present culture to stick close to our faith and values, we should reject cultural idolatry, refuse to compromise, and trust in God's deliverance. Tune in and hear how the courageous faith of these men allowed them to stay loyal to God despite living in a sinful, idolatrous society.

We are continuing in our series, Daniel: Clash of Cultures. Seeing how Daniel remained faithful to God in a culture that directly opposed and went against Gods commands. Have there been moments in your life when you faced great difficulties—feeling like God was so far away? It can be tempting to turn your back on Him when we go through those times. But we can remain dependent on Him. We will learn today that Gods wisdom, kingdom, and authority is greater. As Christians in a modern world, we can feel like foreigners under pressure to blindly accept values that directly conflict with the gospel. This is also the reality of the age we currently live in. The key to Daniel's survival and ours is to recognize cultural influences, remain dependent on God, and receive the Lord's divine favor. We are continuing in our series, Emmanuel: God with Us, looking at the incarnation of Jesus and its impact on the world. In a world that is very self-centered, as the body of Christ, who have been called to humility—it is vital that we reject this mentality and strive to put on humility. It is not always easy to deny ourselves and put others before our own desires, but when we are struggling with this we can look to the example of Jesus. Jesus led by His example of humility; we can follow Jesus’ example of humility in our personal lives. To embody humility in our own lives we can consider our position, consider our mindset, and consider our example. Today, we are continuing in our series, Emmanuel: God with Us. Words have much power; God gave us a book full of His words to speak to us. He not only speaks to us through His Word, but through His creation. John 1:14 reads, “The word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Through Jesus’ incarnation, He brought the Word to life. We are beginning our Christmas series, Emmanuel: God with Us. Several have asked the question, “What if God was one of us?” Seeming to overlook the incarnation of Jesus. Each Christmas, many celebrate the birth of Jesus to the world, through this event, we see that God answered this question with the incarnation of Christ. Today, we will learn how we can see God's glory by beholding the person of Jesus and the work He accomplished through His time here on earth. Our series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, is coming to a close. In this last week, we will look at forgiveness and how vital it is in the body of Christ. As we walk through this world, we will face pain. That pain may be physical or emotional, and it may be caused by a brother or sister in Christ. When they hurt us, it can be difficult to come to a point of forgiveness; only being able to after conviction and stirring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus gives us several examples of forgiving those who hurt us in scripture, many times, Himself being the one turning the other cheek. We should forgive because we have been forgiven much and because it is the way of the kingdom. We are continuing in our series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, learning the importance of handling bouts of conflict in a God-honoring manner. In our culture today, it is easy to succumb to the simple ways of handling conflicts—canceling each other. However, Jesus calls His children to a higher standard, one that honors and pursues peace within the body. He has given us a way to go about reconciling these issues within His word. Join us today and listen to the last message of the series, where we will hear that Christian relationships should pursue repentance and reconciliation.

Today, we move further in our series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, taking place in the gospel of Matthew. We are to love and care for our family of Christ, the same way God has displayed to us. He calls us to not tear one another down but to lift each other up in love and harmony. The Lord displays, in His word, the importance of going after the ones who stray from the faith rather than canceling them. We are continuing in our series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, looking at the body of Christ and how to handle when conflicts arise. When we claim Christ, it is important that we stay vigilant of our words and actions. Our impact on others is vital, we should have a motive of not hindering others, but rather being a help. We should also look to be vigilant of our own sin and its impact on our life, removing it from our lives. Today, we begin a new message series, Conflict[ed]: Pursuing Peace in a Cancel Culture, tackling the topic of conflict. We will look at the book of Matthew, as Jesus talks about the community of Christ and how to handle conflict in a Christ-like manner. Christ makes it clear that the foundation of our relationships should always begin with humility. He always brings us to a point of internal reflection; in that He wants us to examine our hearts to see the state of it. In turn, before we can accomplish any conflict management with others, we need to make sure we go about it in a kind, humble way. Join us for the first message of this series, Embracing Inability, where we will see the greatness in pursing dependence instead of power and practicing loving care instead of introducing temptation.

Today, we are completing our series, Thy Kingdom Come, where we will see Jesus’ reign over disease and death. Many times, in the New Testament Jesus is seen healing someone. We see His power and authority displayed through His acts of healing. That same power is alive and active, today. His healing touch restores dignity, resurrects life, and amazes the world. We are journeying on in our series, Thy Kingdom Come, learning from Mark chapters 3-5. Today, we will be reminded that Jesus reigns over the demonic realm. Jesus’ saving grace transforms us. He takes unclean, sinful people wipes away their sins, and restores them to new life. In Mark 5 Jesus heals a man with a demon, He is still moving and transforming lives today! We will hear how Jesus removes our uncleanness, restores our humanity, and commissions us for ministry. Today we continue in our series, Thy Kingdom Come, looking at the Gospel of Mark. We will be reminded of the great comfort that Jesus reigns over creation. There are times when we face all-consuming anxiety, when doubts and what-ifs fill our head. In these times, we can lose sight of God and forget that He is near. He remains calm and at peace in these times, He speaks with authority, and He calls us to step out and live in fearless faith. We are moving forward in our journey through the gospel of Mark, where we will be met with the question, what is your heart towards Jesus’ word? In Mark 4, Jesus tells a parable that describes the different types of soil of the human heart. Jesus states that there are four kinds, the hard heart, shallow heart, distracted heart, and fertile heart. As we contemplate the state of our hearts, Jesus drives home the importance of having a fertile heart --one that is obedient and open to the word of God and all that it asks of us. Today we are continuing our message series, Thy Kingdom Come: His Reign in Our Lives. We will discover how the Lord asks for our full allegiance and commitment to His kingdom. Letting go and giving up control is a difficult task. In our walks with Christ, this is what He asks of us, to allow Him to have full control of our lives as He guides us in the way He has paved. Jesus asks some thought-provoking questions in the gospel of Mark, which will call us to examine our hearts and ask ourselves the questions, "Who is Jesus to me? Have I fully surrendered to Him?" We are beginning our new series, Thy Kingdom Come: His Reign in Our Lives, today we will see how Jesus’ reign brings heaven to earth. Arrivals are exciting.
