When we read of the death of Jesus in Mark 15:33-37, we learn that because of Christ’s atoning (forgiving) sacrifice, we can have peace with God and peace with others. We can praise Him for fulfilling ancient promises, while defying expectations, justifying us, and showing us how to now live justified.
Discussion questions: Why does God’s forgiveness to us compel us to be radical forgivers? Read Philippians 2:1-11; what does this passage say about unity and forgiveness in Christ? Read 1 John 1:8-10 and 1 John 2:9-11. What does being “in Christ” mean in the way we live today?
