S2 Ep 16Ep 20: Deconstructing to Reconstructing Faith with Lecrae

Welcome back to another episode so we can GO THERE! As we dive into this episode on DECONSTRUCTING FAITH I’m going to be honest: this podcast is layered and complex. As you listen, I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed—I want you to feel hopeful. On today’s podcast we talk to rapper, writer, and philanthropist Lecrae Moore. This man has more awards than his shelf can contain and has given back to his community in more ways than I can explain on the show. We will discuss: Origins of the philosophical concept of deconstruction (and how faith communities are applying it) Mental health in minority communities Man wounds aren't God wounds Why therapy and counseling matter Reconstructing after deconstructing For those on a spiritual journey of figuring out your faith, let me say, don’t give up! Your labor will not be in vain. I firmly believe that when you seek God you will find him. When you call to Him, he will answer. As always my podcast friends, let me say how much I appreciate you. Your reviews and subscriptions help us get this show out there. Will you do me a favor and share this podcast with your friends who might find it helpful? IF you leave a review or subscribe to the show, take a snapshot of that and email it to [email protected] to receive a FREE bible study through the book of Ruth including a PDF study guide and SIX video sessions as my gift to you. 🖤 B Resources: @lecrae I am Restored BetterHelp - Join the millions of people who are seeing what online therapy is really about and save 10% on your first month by going to betterhelp.com/wgt Learn more about your ad choices. S2 Ep 15Ep 19: Too Blessed To Be Badly Dressed with Zoe Juarez

Friend, do you know what time it is? It’s time to talk about FASHION. Fashion is equal parts intrigue and mystery for me. It’s like beef tartare. I know I should like it and all of its fanciness, but at my core I’m afraid to look it at and even more afraid to try being daring and make a fool of myself in the process. Maybe you are a fabulous or maybe you feel fabuLESS. Today we are talking about what to FEEL in what we wear and how to find our own self confidence no matter what shape you are. God cares about the minutia of our lives and the desires of our hearts. Another person who cares is clothing stylist, Zoe Juarez. She has styled for companies like Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, and styled photoshoots for magazines, models, and multi-purpose consultations. Zoe has a unique style for her clothes, but she always has a heart to make people feel fabulous. She has graciously offered a FREE 1-hour Consultation for one lucky listener to walk through your wardrobe and help you style outfits or to help you create a personalized Pinterest board for inspiration. Friends, sometimes we need a voice to help us remember the power that money can have over us. Money is funny but we all have to deal with it. S1 Ep 5Ep 08: Life After Death - What we can learn from those suffering from depression and suicide with Kayla Stoecklein

Today I’m talking about depression, but from a narrative standpoint of loving and living with someone battling depression. Most of the conversations around this topic are from the vantage point of the one dealing with depression, but today we are learning from a dear friend, Kayla Stoecklein, who lived through the pain of watching a loved one battle and take their life due to mental health issues. You can find out more about Kayla’s story in her book Fear Gone Wild. If you feel like you might be experiencing depression or even just feeling a general lack of enthusiasm for life, consider reaching out to a mental health professional (a counselor, a psychologist, a social worker). If that feels a bit intimidating, make a commitment to open up to a friend, a family member, a pastor or someone else you trust and can be vulnerable with. Loneliness and isolation are like oxygen on the fire of depression—it can worsen or intensify what you’re already struggling with. My friends at Onsite did a HUGE favor for me and took off $200 the registration price of their new online course called REDISCOVERING YOU. This is not an ad. This is a gift. Each week, you will receive a series of videos featuring our world-renowned guides and supplemental workbook content that will equip you to: Identify what’s working and what’s not working in your life Evaluate your relationships Reconnect with who you were before the world told you who to be Understand how your past might be affecting your present and future circumstances Get clarity on where you want to go and how to get there Know that if you are depressed, you are not alone. I’m praying for you and we have a team of people who DAILY intercede for prayer requests that come in to our church, The Father’s House OC. If you need prayer, visit TFHOC.org and submit a prayer request there or on our app. You are not alone. 🖤 B Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

S1 Ep 1Ep 01: All the Things you Wish you Knew with Christine Caine

Hi Friends! This is my very first podcast episode and I’m so honored you are tuning in. This whole season is packed with amazing people who aren’t just names, but actual friends or people I look up to. Okay y’all, this could be risky to start the show with the topic we are going to discuss, but I’m a risky kinda girl. Here’s the thing: I can’t have a show about wanting to be real and honest and not talk about one of my hardest struggles. And who better than to shoot it straight than Christine Caine?! If you don’t know Christine, she’s a petite Greek Aussie with blonde hair and a biblical bite. She may be small, but she is mighty. In addition to freeing slaves as the founder of A21, empowering women as the founder of Propel Women, and preaching the gospel around the world, she was also my boss. I worked at A21—a global anti-trafficking organization—for almost 7 years. The work was gloriously exhausting and devastatingly beautiful. But one conversation sticks out to me as one of the most profound of my life. THAT is what I’m going to talk about in this episode! Christine is a best-selling author, profound communicator and loyal mom and wife, but her greatest strength is she has died a thousands deaths and has allowed the Spirit of God to lead to the most interesting parts of the world. My hope is that she teaches us today how to do the same. Share this podcast with your friends and tag @ChristineCaine and @BiancaOlthoff because sharing is caring! I would LOVE it if you subscribed and wrote a review! As a token of my appreciation, I’d love to give you a 6-session video Bible study and guide for FREE!
