Ep 83: Stepping Into Leadership, Casting Vision, Being A Positive Influence and Defining The "IT" Factor with Craig Groeschel

Leadership and influence are two words that are often tossed around in church culture. At times, it can be difficult to connect with these terms, particularly if you can't identify where you can lead or influence others in your life. But what if I told you that you were a leader and that you had your own sphere of influence? Today I'm chatting with pastor, author, and world-class leader Pastor Craig Groeschel about those very things. In this episode, Pastor Craig shares his wisdom and helps us define the "IT" factor and what “IT” looks like, practically speaking. He talks about what healthy church leadership looks like from his own perspective as well as ways we can apply these insights to our own lives. Leadership looks different for everyone, and we all have opportunities to influence others in our day-to-day living. Pastor Craig also talks about casting vision and why we should create a vision for every area of life. You can find out more in his new book “Lead Like It Matters”. As you listen, I hope you can begin to identify your leadership capabilities and ways that you can be empowered to lead life well. I believe that YOU are an influencer! Ep 81: Embracing New Seasons, Making Changes, Identity and The Power Of Community with Shauna Niequist

Friends, have you ever found yourself thinking "I guess I haven't learned that yet"? We can make plans and set goals but sometimes life happens, and we find ourselves in a situation we didn't see coming. In today’s episode, I’m talking with writer and storyteller, Shauna Niequist. Ep 79: Bamboozled By Jesus: Being Tricked into the Life of Your Dreams with Yvonne Orji

Hi Friends! I hope you came ready to laugh! In today’s episode I chat with Yvonne Orji, an Emmy-nominated Nigerian American actress, writer and comedian. She entertains international audiences and is a sought-after speaker. Her TEDx talk; “The Wait Is Sexy,” has garnered over a million views. In this episode, I get to ask Yvonne the perennial question: Does God have a sense of humor? I’m a firm believer that God not only has a sense of humor but has a great sense of humor. As someone who values humor, wit, and banter, I’ve come to see it reflected in Scripture from the One who created the world. Whether you believe in God or not, Jesus longs to have a relationship with you! So, I can’t imagine that if we, His most valuable creation, have wide varieties of humor that range through individual personalities, that the God of the universe, who created us in His image, does not have one. I hope you enjoy listening to Yvonne as much as I enjoyed interviewing her. Do me a favor, take notes, laugh, and tag @YvonneOrji and I @BiancaOlthoff, on Instagram to win a copy of her fabulous book! Ep 77: Beyond the BossBabe: Music, Business, Infertility and the Weapon Behind Tasha Cobbs Leonard

Hi Family! Welcome back to a new season of the podcast. On today’s episode we are kicking off season FIVE with the incomparable and uber talented Tasha Cobbs Leonard. I’m excited to jump into today’s interview and topic at hand. I’m sure you’ve seen or heard the phrase BossBabe or GirlBoss. Women are using the tags on photos that demonstrate their professional or personal strength, fearlessness, successes, and ambition, and desire to lift up others in the process. But something about those titles and ethos rubbed me the wrong way. It seems that by having to identify ourselves as GIRLBOSS and shouting our girl-ness and boss-ness from the hashtag rooftops that we’re overcompensating for something – why not just show your success by being a good boss. Tasha could use the hashtag all day everyday of BossBabe, but instead she uses her entrepreneurial, pastoral, and creative prowess to SHOW not tell. I can’t wait for you to get to know and love this beautiful and talented woman of God. Take notes and quotes and tag us @BiancaOlthoff and @TashaCobbsLeonard on social media so we can repost your learnings. I love when our guests know the impact they are having! My Friends! We’re Going There Podcast has hit 1 MILLION downloads and we are here to celebrate!🎉 I took a pause from my day and hopped on a quick call with my twin sister Jasmine Star to process and savor this moment. You know why? Because I wanted to create an Ebenezer moment. A moment that I can look back to and remember how good God has been in my life. But friends, this moment would not have been possible without YOU! I’m so grateful to all of the faithful listeners and for the not-so-faithful listeners too. Because everyone that’s clicked to listen to any of the episodes on any of the platforms has been a part of this milestone. THANK YOU!!! I had a BIG dream, but I got here by starting small. I took the small step of looking up what the beginner podcasting equipment was, and bought it. That step created a ripple effect as I continued to take step after step to launch this podcast. And today, I’m celebrating 1 Million downloads. Yay! If you have listened to 1 of the one million downloaded episodes, share with me what your #1 step is going to be as you pursue your dream. Post on your Stories what your #1 step is and tag me @BiancaOlthoff on it. S4 Ep 70Ep 70: How To Not Be Basic - Thoughts on Holiness with Jackie Hill Perry

Welcome to our LAST episode of season 4! Today, thanks to the help of author, poet, and Bible teacher Jackie Hill Perry, we are going to talk about moving from basic to holy. In short, holiness is doing things that please God. It’s what you do with your time and your actions. It is living to please God—and it bears fruit! You live holy because you are motivated by your relationship with and love for your heavenly Father. Of all the goals we have for our life, the most important is to pursue holiness because it is God’s goal for our life. If we truly love God we will commit to making holiness the primary purpose of our life. I was excited to have JHP on the show. S4 Ep 18Ep 68: Love Is Series - Communication In The Nation

bonus

Hi Friends! Today is the final episode of Love Is, a six-day podcast special about love, dating and sex. We've delved into defining love, singleness, dating, sex, intimacy and we're closing out with a conversation about communication. Communication is a crucial component in having a healthy relationship and it's something that not everyone is well versed in. So many people, both men and women struggle to vocalize their desires or even ask for clarity. This can come down to different factors such as our culture, history, psychology or simple insecurity. Wouldn't it be nice if we had permission to say everything that we wanted? Well, we do! And you know I'm going to back it up with some Bible. One of my favorite Bible characters is Ruth, and when it came to her relationship with Boaz, she was smart, she was direct, she was clear. My hope is that after listening to this episode, you'll know how to have a DTR aka defining the relationship talk. We're going to learn how to have a DTR, when to have a DTR and also how NOT to have a DTR. Don't forget to share this podcast and the Love Is resources with your friends, community group and family. S4 Ep 17Ep 67: Love Is Series - Intimacy: Into Me, You See

bonus

Hi Friends! Welcome back to day five of Love Is, a six-day podcast special about love, dating and sex. In today's episode, we're going to be talking about intimacy which is a crucial part of building a healthy, loving relationship. Intimacy can be described as close familiarity or friendship, or as my dad would say "into me, you see". It's a way of getting to know someone and as a by-product, building a deeper level of love and relationship. While many would say that intimacy is about sex and physicality, it's much more than that. It's spiritual, emotional and mental too. Practicing strong boundaries and using wisdom is the key when getting to know someone romantically. We're going to unpack practical tools on how to build intimacy over time. I'll also be sharing my No Go Bro list. These guidelines can be used as a reference point when getting to know a potential mate. (Think of them like handy red flags to look out for!) I hope you've found this series helpful in your pursuit of love and building healthy, whole relationships. Tag me @BiancaOlthoff and let me know what you've learned from the series. S4 Ep 16Ep 66: Love Is Series - The Sex Talk

bonus

Friends, welcome to day four of Love Is, a six-day podcast special about love, dating and sex. We're REALLY going there in today's episode as I'll be giving you the sex talk... yes, really! This conversation is for grown folks, so listener discretion is advised. This topic is something I'm passionate about as far too often the church doesn't speak about it. Instead, we let culture and media define what sex is and how it should look, which often leads to hurt and can create all sorts of problems. When sex is fulfilled within the covenant of marriage, it's a beautiful and wonderful experience that honors God. S4 Ep 15Ep 65: Love Is Series - How To Date

bonus

Hey Friends! Welcome back to day three of Love Is, a six-day podcast special about love, dating and sex. Today's conversation is centered around dating, we'll discuss how to date well and also define what dating actually is. Dating is a largely American concept and has evolved over time. With today's standard for dating being open for interpretation, it can be hard to define a romantic relationship. Culture's definition of dating can be seen as anything from hooking up to being in a long-term relationship, but what does the Bible have to say on the topic? While it doesn't specify how to date, the Bible talks A LOT about how we should treat others and how to interact with the opposite sex. Once our understanding is rooted in Scripture, we can define how to date well, which I like to call intentional dating. This may sound intimidating, so I've created a strategy to help you as you date with intention. The strategy for intentional dating looks like: 1. Intentionality 2. Clarity 3. Strategy 4. Timely I hope this provides clarity on such a huge topic and that you feel confident to date well. Don't forget to share this podcast with your friends, post it on your social media and you can tag me @BiancaOlthoff. S4 Ep 10Tuesday Truths: Revealing Leads To Healing

bonus

Revealing your feelings is the beginning of emotional healing. The root of your problem is relational. Don’t pretend that you have it all together. We cannot fully love with hidden sin in our hearts. When you shine your light on your secret, it loses its power over you. If you want healing, you’ve gotta stop concealing. 🖤 B Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

S4 Ep 14Ep 64: Love Is Series - Single Ready To Mingle?

bonus

Friend, are you single, like a pringle and ready to mingle? If so, this episode is for you! Welcome back to day two of Love Is, a six-day podcast special about love, dating and sex. In today's episode, we're going to talk about singleness and how it can be an asset as you serve God and prioritize yourself. When I was single people would always share some platitude with me about being patient and waiting for "the one" to come my way. Worse yet, they would treat my singleness as if it were a waiting room and that I was trying to get cured of my disease of singleness. While I wanted someone to do life with, I wasn't waiting around for a man to complete me, I'd already been transformed by Jesus. Marriage isn't a guarantee for everyone, so, it's important to focus on yourself and realize the fullness of who God made you to be. During your season of singleness, you can maximize your kingdom impact, travel the world, figure out your purpose and so much more. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, demonstrated the power of a life of singleness. And remember, you don't need a significant other to be significant. S4 Ep 35Ep 62: The Art Of Making Art with Jeremy Camp

Hey Family! Let’s talk about creativity! Whether you want to write a book, paint a mural, launch a business or even create a math algorithm, that is all centered around the creative process. On today’s episode, I’m talking with award-winning singer and songwriter, Jeremy Camp. I learned about four main stages to developing an idea. They are: preparation, incubation, illumination and lastly, verification. While things may not always work out in this exact linear order, you can use this as a roadmap for your creative journey. It offers a direction if not a destination. The most important thing to remember is that everyone’s creative process looks slightly different. Mine looks more like a zig-zag or a spiral than a straight line. Throughout our conversation, you’ll hear about Jeremy’s creative process and how he tends to break a lot of the creative rules. I would love to hear about your art and creativity. Will you do me a favor? Send me a visual clue that you are participating in this creative process. Take a picture of your art, song lyrics, poem or business plan and tag us @BiancaOlthoff and @JeremyCampOfficial. And, if you love the creativity that comes through the art of podcasting, don’t forget to leave a positive review for this show so that we can reach more ears around the world. S4 Ep 41Ep 61: Transformation In The Nation with John Mark Comer

Hello Friends! Something we often think about at the top of the year is transformation. This is the process of changing our lives around for the better. In today’s episode, I’ll be chatting with author, teacher, and preacher John Mark Comer about something that is crucial for the development of our souls, hearts, and minds: spiritual transformation. This is achieved through disciplines that align us to God so that we can do his will and work for our lives. Biblically speaking, some of the ways to practice and grow in your faith include reading Scripture, prayer, community, fasting, confession, submission, worship, and celebration. This topic of conversation is a bit like quinoa… Perhaps you’ve never tried the tasty, protein-packed superfood. But once you try quinoa (or spiritual disciplines), you’ll see that it’s good for your soul. Trust me. Spiritual transformation cannot be accomplished by our own efforts. However, we do participate in the process by partnering with God. While these aren’t a quick fix for your spirituality, if you create intentional habits and practices, you will find yourself closer to God and more spiritually empowered. If you eat quinoa this week, snap a photo and tag me @BiancaOlthoff so I can celebrate how quinoa is transforming our bodies and how @JohnMarkComer is transforming our minds. S4 Ep 8Tuesday Truths: Get Back To God

bonus

No matter how far away you feel from God today, there's a pathway back to him. Here are three things we can do to get back to God: 1) realize we need to change, 2) own up to our sin, and 3) give up control. True transformation happens when our hearts move from self-centeredness to God-centeredness. When you seek God seriously, you will not be disappointed. Love you, friends! I have this reminder to give to you, God made you to be you. Let Him determine your identity. The Bible says, our purpose is to please God not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.
