"When I moved to Seattle, I joined some different dance companies and it was always just too pushy; like, I'm doing this for fun. And that's what I think why, when we joined burlesque-- because it is fun and I can create that story; what does this song mean to me, what is the song telling me, how do I want to express that to others. "I'm a very type a person in general; I think it's easier to be the decision-maker... it saves me time to not go back and forth... The job of producer isn't a really sexy, glamorous creative job a lot of the time. The funnest part is the creative part but a lot of it is updating our website, making our ticketing page, making copies of line-up of the show, promoting the show and sending out press releases and trying to get on calendar. That back office stuff is most of the job. To have a successful show, you can't just show up with a great, creative show; you have to show up with an audience." "We're still very much on our own; the closest we come is the festival circuit... not regulated, not unified, and boy do they vary. Everybody has a different idea... I had never been to a burlesque festival when I helped produce my first one; we'd have these meetings and people were like 'Well, traditionally in different places, blah blah blah--' and I'm like, 'Why, what, how... "When I hit 30, I was redfinding dance and refinding home, and finding other areas of my sexuality, and just experimenting in new and fun ways. That was a gateway drug to burlesque, but if I hadn't had those experiences first, it would have been harder to be myself on stage in front of other people, while I was taking my clothes off... For 11 years, jz was a producer and a host of HyperGender Caburlesque the influential monthly, post neo burlesque show. While living in Bosnia in the mid-90s, they had an experience. c) The Rotting Hand Dewie Decimator is an entertainer currently living in Massachusetts. Long before she joined Rogue Burlesque and became, as she refers to herself, Boston's worst drag king, she grew up in New Haven, Connecticut and had this terrifying experience. - Episode No. 2 (originally released September 9, 2020) a) The Old Woman in the Mirror / The Man in the Top HatNoctua has been known to stages as "The Empathy Smackdown of Drag and Burlesque" while living in New York City.
