Watching Dead Season 4 Promo!
EHey everybody, welcome back! Jim and I are dusting off the Watching Dead and prepping it for another season of sprinting, screaming, shooting, and stabbing. We’re coming officially back next week on Tuesday, for our complete pre-season 4 coverage. So if you want us to cover anything in particular, drop us a line using the contact info below. A few other things we wanted to make you aware of… * We’re running a Kickstarter project to make our coverage of season 4 better! Instant casts, survival guides, skits, and more! Check out our page and especially check out our video. We think it’s pretty funny, and we usually hate everything we do. * We’ve been invited to the Walker Stalker Con in Georgia November 1st – 3rd. The Walker Stalkers have lined up some all-star TWD guests, and have 3 fun days and nights planned for all zombie enthusiasts. It should be a good time, check out their website for registration and event details! We’ll be hosting an informal meet and greet with a few other podcasts on Friday night, and we’ll be doing a Bald Move meetup on Saturday. More details on those events as we get closer to the date. Can’t wait to get started, and hear from everybody again. See you all back next week! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

316 – “Welcome to the Tombs”
EIt’s finally here. The moment we’ve all been waiting for. And it stinks! Like a fresh walker on a hot summer day, it stinks! We try to find the words to justify the backlash that this episode has unanimously, and deservedly, received across the internet. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

315 – “This Sorrowful Life”
EThe penultimate episode of Walking Dead’s third season is surprisingly not the war that we, and the survivors, have been prepping for. But that doesn’t mean it’s not what we wanted… Meaningful characterizations and some great acting make this another strong episode on the back half of season 3. But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect either… Listen in as Jim & A.Ron dissect Merle, Daryl, Rick and Michonne in another episode of The Watching Dead! Learn more about your ad choices. 314 – “Prey” – The Watching Dead
EHey guys, Jim was under the weather this week, so we resorted once again to a remote cast. This one went much better than last, but we still have a ways to go. Bear with us this week and we’ll be back to in-studio next week. This week, we discuss “Prey”, episode 314 of The Watching Dead. Milton’s passive aggression Andrea’s zombie 10k run, the Governor as Michael Myers, the perils of having a delusional lookout, Tyrese claiming the mantle of “shitty rifle guy”, gynecological torture (shudder), and much, much more. Then we discuss your copious feedback, AND a spoilery speculative after show. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

313 – “Arrow on the Doorpost”
EA.Ron and Jim were… inspired by the events of this episode to do another tribute skit, our most elaborate yet. If you’re a fan of those, then you’re in for a treat, if not, I suggest skipping about five minutes ahead. Lots of questions raised in this episode, with not many answers. We also have at least two, possibly three budding bromances, and epic smack down of Andrea, a sweet and then sexy Maggie and Glenn emotional reunion, and a badass competition that Daryl handily wins. Don’t forget this is the LAST WEEK to enter the Bald Move Kindle Fire contest, and also don’t forget to check out our new Walking Dead inspired t-shirt designs over at our merch store. Note: The last five minutes of the cast were cut off due to a technical error. It was the promised discussion of Axel the comic book character vs. Axel the TV character. It wasn’t a very lively discussion, as it seems like more or less they were the same guy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

312 – “Clear”
EThis was a pretty good episode of The Walking Dead; unfortunately I don’t think our cast quite matches up this week. First off, some rush hour weather kept Jim and A.Ron from getting together to cast, and we had to hastily assemble a remote recorded cast. We also had some great skit ideas that we couldn’t execute over the remote connection, either. The audio quality is already a few notches below the norm; but then for about 20 minutes in the middle of the feedback it just went to crap and it was beyond our skill to recover. Just a bummer all around. Usually we’d just re-record the segments that got butchered, but it’s past midnight already so we’re going to war with what we got. Hope you enjoy what did make the cut, apologies to the many people who’s email was lost in the noise, and we’ll bounce back next week with a full, trouble free cast. Learn more about your ad choices. 311 – “I Ain’t a Judas”
EThis podcast is about romance this week. That special time when the moonlight shines just so, playing off your lover’s shapely ass as she makes her way across the darkened bedroom, by your side… AND THEN PRESSES A KNIFE AGAINST YOUR THROAT!! And then goes back to sleep? Okay, it’s less romantic and more confusing as hell, but that’s The Walking Dead for ya. Join Jim and A.Ron as we finally turn on Andrea like a pack of ill bred, surly wolverines, discuss the merits of Poindexter’s intelligence, Merle’s intellectual side, fictitious concepts like adolescence and asthma, dental nightmares, your awesome feedback, and an action packed megawatt spoiler section. INCREASINGLY POINTLESS STANDARD SPOILER WARNING!!! Our spoilers are no-joke hard core and reliably accurate. If you don’t want none, don’t listen past our spoiler alert music! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

310 – “Home”
EIn this week’s action packed recap, Jim and A.Ron discuss the merits of batshit crazy Rick, the Ricktatorship’s looming threat of Glennsurrection, the merit’s of the Governor’s tactical battle plan, Daryl’s epic zombie kill by way of Subaru, and the complexities of Glenn and Maggie’s post-abduction relationship. All this and plenty of your feedback, too! This is kind of becoming a regular thing, but regarding our spoiler section; WE HAVE MEGAWATT SPOILERS AND YOU SHOULD AVOID THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE NEXT EPISODE COMPLETELY SPOILED. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

309 – “The Suicide King”
EThe Walking Dead is back, with the mid-season premier episode “The Suicide King”, and so are we! Jim and A.Ron discuss A.Ron’s man crush on Chad Coleman, a ludicrous Rick/Beth/Carl “love triangle”, dead eyed Carl Jr., the Rick/Daryl bromance breakup (temporary, we’re sure), and Andrea’s toe dip into the world of fucked up post-apocalyptic politics. Oh, and fever dream spoiler section that has Jim and A.Ron nervous for what is coming ahead. NOTE: IF TRUE, THESE ARE MEGAWATT SPOILERS AND YOU SHOULD AVOID THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE NEXT EPISODE COMPLETELY SPOILED. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Walking Dead Mid-Season 3 Preview
EWe’re back! Join Jim and A.Ron as we kick back and discuss the latest Walking Dead happenings. Glenn Mazarra’s outster, Rick’s psychotic breaks, Jon Bernthal’s latest X-Men cameos, and more. See you on Sunday for our live Facebook threads and tweeting, and next Tuesday for the mid-season 3 premier! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Walking Dead Mid-Season 3 Wrap Up
EHey everybody! It’s been a break neck, take no prisoners, pedal to the metal, Lori-killing kind of season so far. Can The Walking Dead keep it up in season 3.5? Who will live, who will die? Where does Team Prison and Team Woodbury go next? Listen to Jim, A.Ron, and a few dozen fellow TWD fans opine on our mid-season finale cast! Also, Jason over at The Walking Dead ‘Cast invited me to co-interview Sang Kyu Kim, the writer of episode 304, “The Killer Within”. The interview should be up sometime soon, I’ll drop a note on Facebook and Twitter when it does. Thanks again to Jason and Karen for being such gracious hosts! Learn more about your ad choices. 308 – “Made to Suffer”
EMid-season finale time! Fish tanks were broken, survivors were rescued, flashbangs were thrown, and eyes were gouged out. Join us for about an hour forty five of episode discussion, feeback, spoiler analysis, a opening Jim and A.Ron skit on the nature of sacrifice in a post zombie apocalypse world, and BONUS! We’re recording a special season wrap up cast next week! So if you didn’t make this week, send in your predictions, thoughts, and hopes for next season. Learn more about your ad choices. 307 – “When the Dead Come Knocking”
EThe Walking Dead hits a home run this week with the very solid episode 307, “When the Dead Come Knocking”. About the only turd in the punch this week was the lunatic in the cabin, and who’s to say the turd didn’t add a touch of savory piquancy that elevated the episode as a whole? I do, actually. That’s who. That part was straight up horseshit. But just like The Walking Dead wouldn’t be The Walking Dead if there wasn’t something WTF worthy each week, our podcast wouldn’t be our podcast if we had nothing to bitch about. Oh. And Poindexter’s science experiment. That was goofy too. Oh god, I can feel the Waldorf coming over me. Anyway, the good stuff was very good. Getting the Ricktatorship and Woodbury all involved, a fairly touching scene involving Carol, gut wrenching torture involving Glenn and Maggie, hair raising, tension setting music, and excellent pacing sets us up for one epic mid-season finale next week. We discuss all this, some news, your feedback, and the return of megawatt, radioactive, depleted uranium spoilers in the spoiler section. Enjoy, and we’ll see you next week! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

306 – “Hounded”
EI’m sick this week so the update’s are going to be a little barebones. But we soldiered on through the podcast. Jim and I were kind of down on this episode, which we felt had a high silly shit to awesome ratio. Some of the stand out great scenes were, anything with Rick and a telephone, anything with Rick and Herschel, and stop me if you’ve heard this one, any thing with Daryl. All this, your feedback, a healthy spoiler section, and lots of random coughs and sneezes courtesy of yours truly. Hopefully both my sinus cavities and the show itself will bounce back next week! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

305 – “Say The Word”
EThis episode is CRAZY! Literally crazy. Like, Rick and the Governor try to out crazy each other in the Crazy Olympics, and Rick wins by a phone call. Join us as we discuss this and zombie stuffing, Carol’s sham grave, Daryl’s hard core panty dropping abilities, Michonne revealing her softer side (well, she did smile), and much more. Note: The spoiler section this week contains high-octane, no-shit spoilers for this weekend’s episode. Do not listen past the spoiler music unless you want to completely spoil Sunday’s show. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

304 – “The Killer Within”
EIt’s fiesta time! I hope you got your salsa, your chips, your margaritas, your Dos Equis and whatever the hell else you need to celebrate the death of Lori Grimes, because The Walking Dead did it’s level best to make sure we’d have a hard time enjoying it. But what the hell, right? In for a penny, in for a pound, and can a well acted, noble death by ceasarean really make up for 2 seasons of horrible writing? Poor taste in celebrating the brutal death of a mother aside, Lori’s gone, T-Dog’s gone, and our band of survivors will never be the same. Join us for a complete breakdown of episode 304, “The Killer Within”, including feedback from our awesome fans and as always, our coverage of spoilers and comic theories in our spoiler section. As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! You can email, Tweet, or Facebook us. Give us some lovin’ by leaving us an iTunes review and especially by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs. Remember, it costs you nothing, and sends a little “sumpin’ sumpin‘” our way. Win/win! You can find our Watching Dead theme song on MysterianaMusic.com Learn more about your ad choices. 303 – “Walk With Me”
EThis week’s episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead finally introduced us to the long awaited character of the Governor, capably played by distinguished actor Liam Neeson. An interesting choice to let him roll with his Scottish brogue, but you know what? I think it works. Other points of interest include Michonne’s epic, episode long stink eye, zombie science, the Return of Merle, Andrea making mooney eyes at Liam, Chris Hardwick being force by AMC to be an annoying asshole, and the resurrection of Jim’s Dead Man’s Brew. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

302 – “Sick”
EThis episode, which is The Walking Dead Season Three Episode Two, just about killed me. Up until the last fifteen minutes, I was as pissed as I’ve ever been watching any TV show, ever. And then… they totally redeemed themselves. Join us as we discuss Vatos Part 2: Vatos Harder, crappy neck tattoos, freezers that should remain unopened, Lori’s Apology Tour, the questionable wisdom of CPR in a zombie apocalypse scenario, shivving zombies, and Attica on speed, man. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

301 – “Seed”
EThe Walking Dead is back with a vengeance and so are we! Jim and A.Ron barrel through the premier episode of season three, “Seed”, like a pumped up T-Dog with a riot shield. Join us as we discuss wordless intros, innovative use of carabiners, homemade silencers, zombie babies, a Grimes centipede (yeah, you heard me), Carl Jr’s quest for first base, and much much more. If you want to check out the short film I reference in the podcast about a penguin suit wearing zombie protagonist, check it out. And Jim and A.Ron both recommend you check out the book, “Dust”, but Joan Frances Turner. It’s one of the most unique takes on the zombie genre we’ve ever seen. Learn more about your ad choices. Walking Dead Season Three Preview
EJim and A.Ron are back in action, shambling for some more Walking Dead! Join us as we break down insights we’ve gleaned from the Comic Con trailer, consider some listener feedback, and then discuss how the comic series will influence the show in our spoiler section. 213 – “Beside the Dying Fire”
EWell, season 2 is over and in the books. We’ve had times both good and bad at the farm, we’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve whipped ourselves into a murderous frenzy about one Mrs. Grimes. But now it’s time to put it all behind us and move on. Jim and A.Ron are thumbs up on “Beside the Dying Fire”, and it leaves them eager to get on to bigger and better things in season 3! We have a bit of news, an episode breakdown, and lots and lots of feedback from you guys. If you’re still hungry for more good TV, remember, Mad Men is just around the corner, as is Game of Thrones. And Justified is still going strong! Believe it or not, we’re only a few short months away from Breaking Bad coming back! As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! You can email, Tweet, orFacebook us. Give us some lovin’ by leaving us an iTunes review and especially by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs. 212 – “Better Angels”
EA.Ron’s on vacation, so that means a no frills, all cast update. This week we discuss the penultimate season 2 episode, “Better Angels”. Fan reaction was very mixed, and frankly, we’ve seen better TWD, but the plot’s going where it needs to go, and that’s not a bad thing. Tune in for our thoughts and speculation, listener mail, and another balls out spoiler section. Note: If you stay beyond the outro music you will be hit with hard core, uncensored and raw television and comic spoilers. Remember, you’re always going to be safe and spoiler free if you turn off your player before our outro music plays. As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! 211 – “Judge, Jury, Executioner”
EThe one thing you can’t say about this week’s episode 211, “Judge, Jury, Executioner” is that nothing happens. Camp Herschel is rocked, and Jim and A.Ron are liking how things are going down on the farm as we enter the home stretch of season 2.5 of The Walking Dead. We discuss Daryl’s Sayid homage, proper zombieland parenting, Dale’s campaign trail, the group’s ammo situation, age appropriate play with your 18 year old daughter, Randall’s trustworthiness, Carl’s embrace of secular humanism, having a go at mud-stuck zombies, and the physics behind ripping a man’s guts open. Not to mention lots and lots and lots of you fine people’s feedback, and another poem by heart broken fan, Tom inWest Virginia. Note: Spoilers ya’ll! We’re not fucking around this season. If you stay beyond the outro music you will be hit with hard core, uncensored and raw television and comic spoilers. Remember, you’re always going to be safe and spoiler free if you turn off your player before our outro music plays. We have a treat we hope you TWD fans will like, as Jim debuts a new t-shirt design he’s pretty proud of. There are various sizes and colors available, and even a ladies tee available. As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! You can email, Tweet, orFacebook us. Give us some lovin’ by leaving us an iTunes review and especially by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs. 210 – “18 Miles Out”
EJim and A.Ron are conflicted this episode. There are parts of our favorite AMC zombie-based dramedy that are brilliant, and parts that almost gave us brain aneurysms. Find out which are which as we discuss zombie waterfalls, Andrea Kavorkian, Rick being silent but deadly, Lori extolling the benefits of being pregnant and in the kitchen, and torture by Molly Hatchet. See you at the crossroads (so you won’t be lonely)! Note: For whatever reason, we’re running high-octane spoilers this whole min-season, so steer clear of our spoiler section if you want to remain pure. Remember, you’re always going to be safe and spoiler free if you turn off your player before our outro music plays. As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! You can email, Tweet, orFacebook us. Give us some lovin’ by leaving us an iTunes review and especially by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs. 209 – “Triggerfinger”
EIn this peach of an episode, A.Ron and Jim discuss some insights from Glen Mazzara’s recent interview with Vulture, the politics of Rachero del Herschel, the relative upper body strength of Mrs. Grimes, the unluckiest jumper in the world, the newly found artfulness of The Walking Dead, the effectiveness of Andrea as Shane’s ambassador, and a ton of listener thoughts and spoilers. Note: As with last week, we dish some no-shit, for-real spoilers in the spoiler section of the cast. Remember, you’re always going to be safe and spoiler free if you turn off your player before our outro music plays. As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! 208 – “Nebraska”
EWatching Dead is back! Jim and A.Ron have tons to discuss with the return of our favorite zombie themed drama, The Walking Dead, from it’s mid-season hiatus. Find out what we think about small-farm politics, Philly fans, zombie bonfires, who’s jockeying for position of “Most Useless” survivor, and lots more. IMPORTANT: We dish some MASSIVE episode 12 and 13 spoilers in the spoiler section of our cast. As always, these babies are safely cordoned off into the spoiler section of our show, but remember, if you don’t want to hear them, stop playback when you hear our theme song after the show. If you listen past that, it’s all on you! As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out! You can email, Tweet, orFacebook us. We discuss what is quite possibly the single worst scene in The Walking Dead history, troll dad parenting, Jim’s escape plan to China, the relative difficulty of killing Merle, Daryl’s effectiveness as Bad Cop, hilarious gang tattoos, zombie smorgasbords and Andrea’s savage, cruel, and downright inhuman crying face. Mid-Season Wrap Up
EJim and A.Ron ponder a few questions looking backward to this past half season and looking forward to the next. Where do the survivors go next? Which was better so far, season one or season two? Can they make the zombies scarier? Then we process some listener feedback and talk comic spoilers in the spoiler section. Like what we’re doing? Want to help us out? 207 – “Pretty Much Dead Already”
ETurns out that the midseason finale went out with a bang. Several dozen, actually! Before we get into the recap, we consider an article from The Atlantic on five ways The Walking Dead can be improved. It’s pretty good, even if you think The Walking Dead is just fine as is. Then we break down the action as we consider effective Carol pick-up lines, Rick Jr., Glen getting a spinal upgrade, the Dale/Shane group dichotomy, the finer points of zombie walking, and Rick’s record versus undead little girls. Like what we’re doing? Want to help us out? Consider subscribing to our cast and leaving a five star review for us on iTunes! This helps us out in the rankings and expands us to new listeners! 206 – “Secrets”
EWelcome to this week’s episode of Watching Dead! Some say this was the best episode of the season, and some say one of the worst. What do Jim and A.Ron think? It might surprise you. We talk about chicken legs, advanced shooting classes, farmer’s ultimatums, the ridiculous, irresponsible way the “morning after” pills were depicted on the show, Dale stepping up, the lethality of shelving, Rick’s rationality, and junk grabbing. Like what we’re doing? Want to help us out? Consider subscribing to our cast and leaving a five star review for us on iTunes! This helps us out in the rankings and expands us to new listeners! 205 – “Chupacabra”
EWelcome to this week’s episode of Watching Darryl Dead! The show picks itself off, and dusts itself off after falling into a well last week, only to derail the otherwise decent episode with an ill advised headshot! Rage along with Jim and A.Ron as we vent along with the listeners about the near tragic stupidity that is Andrea. Other points of interest; Darryl’s continual carving a portrait of himself onto Mount Badass, Herschel and Rick’s uneasy alliance beginning to unravel, the finer points of guitar-based icebreaking, rag dolls, devil’s advocacy, and some really insightful feedback from our fantastic listeners. Unfortunately, some of the best stuff comes out in our spoiler section, which is roped off with a protective cordon of music, so be sure to switch off if you don’t want hints about what happens next week OR very mild comic book spoilers / analysis. 204 – “Cherokee Rose”
EHey everybody! We had a nice run of two good episodes, so it was about time for a stinker. Not historically bad, by TWD standards, but about as putrid as the zombie in that well. I’m traveling this week, but was able to join the cast through the miracles of modern communication, as Jim and I break down the episode point by point. This week we discuss a defense of brainless zombie action, how to purify drinking water, the finer points of God talk, the wisdom of going for some apocalyptic poon, Darryl as renaissance man, Lori’s assault on pregnancy tests, and whether Jim is endangering his status as the show’s resident smart guy. Hope you enjoy! We could really use your support on iTunes! 203 – “Save The Last One”
EFirst off, apologies for the substandard audio quality. We messed up our audio checks and ended up recording on the mac’s internal mic and not our soundboard. It’s still listenable, but we’ll try to do better going forward. This week, we talk about backlash backlashes, how scary The Walking Dead really is, Shane’s face-heel turn, Rick’s optimism versus Lori’s fatalism, and lots of listener feedback. After the music, we talk a bit of spoilers, including comic spoilers! Stay away if that doesn’t appeal to you. We could really use your support on iTunes! 202 – “Bloodletting”
EIf you hated our negativity on the first cast but stuck with us, good news! We liked the second episode much, much better. I’d say that is because objectively this episode was much, much better, but hey, that’s me. We could really use your support on iTunes! 201 – “What Lies Ahead”
EWelcome to the first episode of The Watching Dead, the officially unofficial fan podcast of AMC’s The Walking Dead. I’ll be up front, if you’re a big fan of the show, buckle up, because we’re fairly critical of what we feel is a very uneven episode. There is a lot to like, but a lot of head scratchers and WTF moments, too. Now that we’re spinning up our second show, we could really use your support on iTunes!
